Absolute unit of a lobster that was a little sad to eat a 40 year old creature but it was cooked to perfection and delicious.

We dropped by to pick up some fresh seafood and found Cape Tip clean and not fishy smelling. The service was friendly and helpful. A very good selection of live lobsters, oysters and clams as well as cod, swordfish and other fish. Very nice selection of condiments and spices as well. We definitely will be going back. We celebrated our anniversary with seafood purchased at Cape Tip Market and honestly it was WAY better than dining out! Crab cakes, lobster & scallops all unbelievably fresh & delicious! What a memorable meal! The family who own/operates Cape Tip were kind, helpful and take pride in their business. Thanks Cape Tip!

I was impressed with the high quality of fresh fish at the Cape Tip Seafood Market in Truro. The staff was very helpful and there was a clearly marked sign limiting the number of customers in their store at any time.

I have purchase seafood at this location over the past 4 years when vacationing. The prices always were reasonable and the quality good. This year I was surprised to find the prices more expensive $2 and $4 more a.pound than other similar establishments in eastham and Chatham. I purchased oysters steamers and scallops. We had them all that evening. Over half of the 2 lbs of steamers did not open which surprised me as that does not typically happen to me as I cooked steamers all of the time Not sure there is a reason for me to drive from Eastham to Truro any more to do business at Cape Tip since the prices are higher and the quality of seafood is at best not as good. The person who waited on me also forgot to mention the credit card convenience fee that gets added All in all I feel like I've gotten taken

Every year on our way to Provincetown we stop to buy lobster tails and they are better than anything you can get in a restaurant. Everything here is fresh and delicious.

Always a consistent and delicious place to get all our seafood. Their clam chowder is especially tasty- the perfect consistency and flavor. The place is always spotless, the staff friendly and helpful.

We've often purchased from here, and have always had a great experience. The seafood is fresh and lobsters priced by size. Easy to order and convenient.

The smell is putrid-not like raw fish: like rotten fish. Moreover, the customer service is from hell. Do not recommend.

We love buying our fresh fish at Cale Tip Seafood. Every day we have purchased delicious cod, salmon, halibut as well as their other products . One of the best things I love shopping at Cape Tip is getting great recipe suggestions! Liz shared how she prepared the striped bass. These experiences make shopping so much more enjoyable!

Best seafood market on the outer Cape. Super staff as well as always fresh seafood. Also great selection of seafood condiments too. Fairly priced and parking is great

Wow! Ordered a week ahead for a birthday dinner while in Truro at a rental property. 7 2lb lobsters with warm melted butter,corn, clams on the 1/2 shell and shrimp cocktail for all, was delivered hot and delicious exactly on time by a very friendly young man. Price was very good and fair, food was OUTSTANDING! Was so happy we chose Cape Tip, money very well spent, thanks Cape Tip seafood for a great experience.. I think we will order again before heading back to CT. Note: lobsters shells were split for easy opening!

Worst Stuffed Clams Evah !! Looked like gingerbread. Gooey, tasteless, chewy something could not identify.

I stayed in a Wellfleet AirBNB last week and shopped at this market twice. Everything was very fresh. The market is sparkling clean and bright. The people that work there are some of the friendliest and welcoming on the cape. If you are lucky enough to make it here, be sure to get a few containers of the Bluefish Pate. They make it right in the store and it tastes amazing!

Bought cod full of worms! Threw it all in the garbage! Yuck! I get it, cod does occasionaly have worms but not to this extent! On few occasions displayed product especially mussels were fully open and rotten! We all know that shellfish needs to breath but mussels do not! They need to be closed not widely open and rotten! I am not there to make friends but seriously perk up a bit while interacting with customers!

I'll take my fish with less attitude. When asking for swordfish (@$20/lb) without a bloodline (the dark line, likely with a strong flavor), I was told they cut all their pieces including the line. Nope, not for me...

Damn fine place. We were starving and on the lookout for a restaurant for lunch. Then we saw the sign. "Lobster: $5.95/lb." OK. My idea of New England. One picnic table outside an awesome seafood market. Perfect. Cape Tip sits in a little shopping centre that has all the goodies one would need for a weekend on the Cape. There's a farm stand, liquor store, deli and a real estate shop (gives you an opportunity to dream a little...) all sharing a parking lot alongside Route 6. When we got inside, we found out the smaller lobsters (less than 5 lbs.) were $7/lb. and the big guys (of which there were a TON... many well over 10 lbs.) were the lower price. We decided to go with a couple 2 1/4 pounders and were very happy we did. The guy working (probably the owner, if I had to guess, but for some reason we didn't talk about it?) cooked them up and served them in a neat little tray pre-"dressed" (cracked) with a huge bowl of fresh butter. It was delightful. The owner made sure to check on us and make sure everything was up to our expectations and even cracked a few jokes. Very nice guy, very friendly place, lots of local "to-go" traffic as we ate. Grabbed a bottle of vino at the liquor store and wrangled some plastic cups. Who could ask for anything more? The market had tons of other goodies, too. Lots of fresh fish, pre-cooked/chilled lobster, lobster meat, Wellfleet oysters (made sure I had one before I left -- salty and delicious), bisque and chowders in the cooler. They also had a full lobster meal deal where they include corn on the cob and some other good stuff, all sourced from the farm stand next door. We'll be back next time we're in Provincetown, for sure!

I was immediately turned off by this place when I entered the store and l discovered their sign on the street advertising "$10.99/"lb lobster" only applied for lobsters over 5lbs. I doubt they even had a 5lb lobster available. (Normal sized lobsters were $16.99/lb I believe.) I bought some little neck clams and some overly creamy bluefish pate and took my business elsewhere (specifically Hatch's in Wellfleet and Stop & Shop in Provincetown.)

Stopped here to pick up some fresh oysters and while waiting to pay for our oysters noticed the surly woman behind counter rolling her eyes in disgust at the customer in front of us. She wasn't friendly at all to us either and really turned us off as repeat customers.

Go Local with your seafood in Truro! Limited selection but excellent fresh shrimp, scallops, swordfish, oysters and lobsters they will steam and cut for you to take home. The clam chowder is perfect; not too thin, not too thick with soft clams and potatoes that still have the slightest bite.

Best Lobster Mac & Cheese I've ever had, paired it with homemade fishcakes, another home run. I've been told the Monkfish stew is awesome, ill be back to try it. The 2 ladies working the store were very helpful.

Came here just to eat. Got a DZ oysters, both kinds of lobster rolls, a whole steamed lobster, chowder and clams. The service is meh but our food was delicious. No condiments were provided for our shellfish but you don't really need it. Salt water does the trick. I prefer the hot/butter lobster roll myself. Drinks are from a vending machine near the seating area.

Very fresh made lobster rolls. They made it for you immediately about five minutes. We had the cold roll first then ordered the hot roll again. Nice outdoor seating as well.

I had visions of stuffing myself silly with mounds of seafood so that's why we stopped into Cape Tip Market. We arrived around 5:15pm on Wednesday and I wanted to order the lobster dinner. Was told by the very surly woman working there that dinner orders had to be ordered ahead of time and it takes 30 min. to prepare (This is info that would have been helpful had it be on their website!). They close at 6pm so I figured there would be enough time to throw together a dinner but we were denied. The best they could do was a steamed lobster and that's it. The woman gruffly grabbed a 2.5 lb lobster from the tank and told us it would be ready in 20 min. (only 10 min. less than preparing a dinner). We left to check into our hotel and came back to pick up our lobster ($24.00) and also grabbed a cup of clam chowder ($6.50). The lobster was good, perfectly steamed and they cracked it for us so the meat was easily dug out. But there was no butter, no lemon, nothing. All we got was a side of nasty attitude with our food which left a bad aftertaste in my mouth.

Just had a bunch of seafood delivered and it's wicked fresh! They made it easy to order by calling them to order and the menu was right up on Facebook to view everything. And they dropped it off right on our front porch in Ptown. Will definitely be ordering from them again :)

I've been buying my seafood here for years. They have there own boats for some of the seafood. It is always very fresh. O)there here complained about a surley woman. I think I know who she is and I find her always helpful and friendly. Perhaps it's the complaining customers who had a bad attitude.

Their fish is always excellent. They prepare great fish kabobs often but really their lobsters and steamers are incredibly fresh sweet and wonderful! Had the best I think I have ever had last week and can't wait to do it again

My friend loves lobster. So on our way to P-Town we stopped here. They steamed our lobsters in about 20 minutes. We grabbed drinks at the Lunch Box and brought are own snacks. If you want more than just lobster bring it with you or buy it at one of the nearby shops. The lobster was exactly the way you imagine it would be, just steamed fresh, tender, and simple. No frills, just sit at a picnic bench and enjoy. For the price you would get something far less fabulous in P-town, so stop here first.

We ordered a 17 person lobster dinner, everything was fresh...hot...perfect. Instant clambake!

Forget the overpriced lobster dinners in town! Stopped here and picked up a 5 pd lobster that they steamed and cracked for me for $35.00. Took that baby home and made some squid ink pasta they sold there as well, and had an amazing dinner. Memory made!

Excellent Lobsters! Fresh, and sweet and reasonable prices But get there earlier so they will boil the lobsters for you; it wasn't hard to boil it ourselves, but would have been easier for them to do it (4) 1.5lb lobsters for $63. YUMMY

The place is meh. Only tried them as a fishmonger and it is easy to beat. The oysters are small (and they shorted me 4 oysters), the clams did not taste very fresh. I would stay away. You can do better between Wellfleet and ptown

It's fine you didn't want to say hello when we greeted you. It's fine you didn't want to cut a swordfish steak in half. We didn't need to be laughed at when we left though. And we don't need to return.

Fresh fresh fresh! We got a bunch of oysters, cod and steamers. What a feast, it was all so fresh and delicious. It was a bit expensive, though.

Took an Uber from our boat. Started at stop and shop. Fish was grey. Went on to Cape Tip Seafood and wow! Striper right off the boat! Super fresh swordfish and pound lobsters. This place is worth the 29$ Uber from the warf in Provincetown.

First time here and thought we would try the special 1 1/4 lobster with a cup of chowder and corn on the cob. The 3 of us all ordered the special. We were told in 15 min it would've ready more like 25 minutes but that's fine. We should have called ahead as they seemed busy. Was excited to get back to our place to enjoy only to be disappointed. The first lobster was 1 1/4. The second was more like a 1 1/2 and the third was definitely under a pound, it looked like a baby lobster. With 3 adults , one of us got the really small one and it was really disappointing, there was very little meat to it. If they hadn't already closed and we we didn't have to leave early the next morning, I would have went back with it. If that's all they had left and had let me know that one of them would not be a 1 1/4 , I would have bought something else. I'm very surprised because the tanks were very full. That wasn't right! The chowder was ok , and the corn was good. We should have checked our order before leaving but it was stapled shut and figured it would be fine. Lesson learned!

Stopped in twice while in Cape Cod. Great hot lobster rolls. It was a bit pricier than others but still worth it. Outdoor seating. Not truly a restaurant just a fish market with take out option. The fish on display looked fresh and delicious. There were a lot of young people working there and you would think that you would get less than professional service (sorry!) but the service and food were great. See you next time I'm in town!

The lady who was there (w/ short bleached blonde hair) on May 24, 2015 at around 6pm clearly does not know how to provide excellent nor good customer service. She made faces and clearly showed us she was upset when we changed our minds and asked if we can have our lobsters cooked onsite instead. We also had an issue with their restroom! Considering their public porta potty was closed and not available for customers, we were still not allowed to use their own restroom even if we asked politely if they can make an exception. Note that we spent $250 from their store! The store manager should consider firing her or assigning that lady in the stock room not front facing the customers!

Cape Tip is an excellent seafood shop - well steamed and cracked lobster, quality shellfish. I have nothing against Macs, but this is my first call.

We have generally had good experiences at Cape Tip but this evening they did such a fine job that it prompted me to write a review. For the first time, I purchased their Lobster Dinners to go for a large group. I am so impressed with the quality of the meal, particularly the perfectly cooked, cracked 2lb lobsters. The shellfish were also terrific and they had everything ready at the appointed time. I will definitely use them again for clam bakes; it was so simple, easy and delicious. I have also been happy with the fresh fin fish and shellfish I have gotten there over the years. The service has not been great in previous seasons but this year everyone who helped us was wonderful!

3 stars for convenience as it is now the only fish market in Truro. Other than that, disappointing. Fish looked dry and not very fresh. Decided not to buy any. Really missing Mac's when it was here in Truro!

Loved this place. We ordered the prepared lobster and it was amazing.I was impressed with the amount of sides etc they offered as well.

Do not hesitate... If you want fish, any kind of fish, come here and be amazed. Most is from the ocean to your table in under 24 hours. Perhaps the earlier reviewer called the wrong number because they do sell steamed lobster dinners to go, or to eat at the picnic tables next to the parking lot.... But this is not a restaurant. Call ahead, especially on the weekends, to be sure they are open, and that they have enough lobster left. This is a fish market, where they mainly sell what they catch on their boat in the morning, so there is a limit to the number of lobster they will have in a night! In our week long vacation, my husband and I shopped here every night for dinner... Bought a piece of fresh fish, threw it on the grill with veggies from Highland Farms (next door) and washed down with wine from Truro Liquors (also next door). You can choose to spend 3 to 4 times this much for a lot lower quality at a restaurant in P-town or Wellfleet... or just be smart and buy the best seafood you could possibly find.

Got a hot lobster roll here: About 6oz of lobster. The roll was very tasty and toasted perfectly. The lobster was fresh but overly cooked. Overall pretty good about 20 dollars for a small lobster roll.

Bought a few clam bake dinners while on vacation this week and was very impressed by the quality and price. We requested all steamers for mussel / steamer combo and they were very accommodating.

Rude service, outrageously expensive prices, mediocre steamers (small and tasteless), mediocre lobster roll (lots of meat but also tasteless). I gave 2 stars because the 1.5 lb lobster was very good so I'll give them that. Generally feel like this is the kind of place that takes advantage of an ever shifting customer base. Don't recommend.

This is a great little fish market with super fresh seafood. We bought the flounder and seaweed salad. I'm told by our friends who like seaweed salad that it's a "two thumbs up" one. The flounder was great and at a decent price. Super friendly people there, very helpful. Also stocks mixes and ingredients for almost anything you serve with fish. We really like this place!

went there today to get some fish to cook ourselves, they do not cook anything on the premises. There were only a few people in there and we felt like they were rushing us and the other people to get what you need and get out. All the employees had pusses on their faces, but the lady at the resister was the worst. There was no hello greeting, let me know if you have any questions, thank you no conversation at all. Not very welcoing. The scallops we got were ok, but certainly won't go back, too many other seafood markets around with nice people to have to deal with that again.
