25 Best Golf Courses in the World

"A Stanley Thompson design set in a rainforest with tree-lined fairways and a backdrop of the North Shore Mountains, the course begins at its highest point and drops downhill for the first six holes before gradually climbing to a spectacular par-five finishing hole with views of Vancouver." - Patricia Doherty Patricia Doherty Patricia Doherty is a writer who specializes in covering destinations, resorts, and cruises for Travel + Leisure and other publications. Google
Best course and probably one of my favourite courses if not my most favourite. The holes are execellent designed and the range is intresting, but the restaurant and the grand clubhouse are luxury and yummy. The conditions all year round cant get any better. The membership fee is so expensive you have to wait 5 years to join but i got invited by my friend luke and we played a round in which we tied so we had to do a puttoffo

I'm not a golfer or a member, but I have been here quite a few times as a guest and the food is delicious. The Christmas brunch buffet is unparalleled. There are carolers in costume and the food and atmosphere are amazing. We look forward to it every year. We also had our wedding here and I can't say enough nice things about how helpful the staff were and how wonderful everything turned out. I've attended two other weddings here, in addition to my own, and had a fantastic time at each. The guests always rave about the food. The location is spectacular for a number of different types of photos. Our photos turned out so well, they were featured in a wedding magazine. Though it may be a bit of a hassle to get all your guests over to the heart of West Van for your event, I say it is well worth it.

Yelp
The one and only time I'll ever be able to come here, thanks to friends who had their gorgeous wedding reception here this past weekend. But why the only time? Well, unless another wedding invite graces my mail box, there's no way I could get in. To get on the waiting list for membership is $25k on it's own. Plus, I don't wear my pants up at my armpits or take dinner before 5pm. The view is gorgeous. You can see the Grouse Grind and Vancouver from the expansive patio that faces the course. The greens look like they're kept in immaculate form. (I wonder if there's a wee little garden gnome out there in the early morning hours grooming them with a pair of shears! What else would they do with all those annual dues?) The staff is friendly, professional and on top of their game. They were awesome about bringing vegetarian dishes to the lone vegetarian at our table and kept the drinks coming! The food was decent. It's exactly what you'd expect at a golf course, although, as I mentioned, I was there for a wedding, so we possibly were privy to an exclusive menu - Shrimp Cocktail? Lobster thermidor? Dim sum dumplings as appetizers? Don't mind if I do!

Yelp
Had the opportunity to play here twice. Course is excellent condition, easy walking. Both times we went out in the afternoon and had no one right in front or behind us so had a relaxed round of golf. It is expensive but is worth playing at least once if you are in Vancouver. Service is excellent. The clubhouse is really nice and as non members we still could go in and have a post round beer for a decent price.

Yelp
My Uncle and I come here very often as it is close to my home within reason. This place is good for driving range practice. The balls are priced very reasonably and the service has always been very top notch. Not the most desirable ranges in the city, however would rather go somewhere near than far. Best time to go is Saturday before 9:00 am. The grooming of the course itself is hit and miss.
