Amazing lobster rolls ! Stunning view from the back deck of the water, and lots of parking for large vehicles. The inside is beautifully decorated too ! The only downside was the service - the lady at the front was very uninterested in her job, forgot our order (so our fries arrived cold), and was very off-putting. We would still recommend a visit as the lobster rolls were the best we had on our three week vacation out east.

We camped here overnight and had takeout food from the restaurant. Our campsite was right on the edge of the water. Electric, water and dumping at site. Laundry machines available. $2 to wash, 2$ to dry. We watched the tide come in and the sun set . Super cool and beautiful. Lobster Rolls were our takeout food from the on site restaurant to our campsite. Absolutely terrific. The only downside is that the campsites are quite small and not at all private.

Hands down the best Lobster I've ever eaten! Had some escargot for an entree, and they were wonderful. The lobster itself was so tasteful and tender, I was going "Mmmh!" with every bite. My girlfriend who doesn't even eat seafood tried it and liked it (that says a lot). Highly recommend this place if you want some tasty local seafood!

I was there the week of August 17. I don’t recall the exact date. It was the worst clam chowder and fish & chips that I ever had. The clam chowder tasted like most of the liquid had been boiled off leaving a thick grey mucky and bad tasting mess in the bowl. They forgot to bring out the main order . Apparently it was ready in plenty of time but sitting on the counter for long enough for the fish and chips to get cold. I asked for a new serving and asked that they not heat it up in the microwave. I don’t know if that is what they did but the fish batter was so hard I could barely cut it with my knife. The fish was good though and the waiters while forgetful were very nice.

We have stopped here every year on our way to Gaspe and have always loved it. Sadly we haven't been since 2022 and were very disappointed. The quality of the food was no longer worth the detour from the highway. The service was terrible and we waited over an hour once we ordered our food. The waitress was rude and kept rolling her eyes. Not worth it when there are several other local spots in the area with excellent food options.

We never got a table!!!! We were a party of 6… asked early in the day for a reservation, they don’t take them for parties less than 8, but were told the wait at the time we were requesting wouldn’t be long. We presented earlier than originally planned and were told 30 mins approximately. After an hour, seeing groups of 2 and 4 consistently being given tables we inquired if our place had been ‘lost’. We were told no, and it shouldn’t be too much longer. After and 1-1/2 hours of waiting we entered the restaurant and were ignored by multiple staff. I finally just called to one rushing past us, she stopped, clearly annoyed, when I said we changed our mind about it waiting for a table, she was rude, told me that they had a table available and could seat us right away. The table was not set and it looked to be a gathering of spare tables just pushed together. When I said No, it was too late the server and another server were extremely rude to us, when I tried to explain that we had seen just before we decided to walk away a table of 5 who arrived at least 30 minutes after us, given a table, they got defensive and even more rude. I said to take us off the list, that we would find other options for supper and the original server yelled after me, “you try serving people then come tell me how to do my job”. We didn’t even acknowledge her, just walked out. We were so disappointed as we had been looking forward to this stop since planning our trip in March. If your fine with a long wait for a table the food might be good, we will never have the chance to find out. There are other restaurants in the area, I would try them first.

Came all the way from Montreal to be treated like trash. The service is horrible. Didn’t even try the food. Got up and left with some dignity. I drove over 7 hours and was so happy to get here to be mistreated. Do NOT recommend. If I could give ZERO starts, I would.

Sadly I must share how horrible the service was & food way below par. Waited 1 hr to be seated. 1 1/2 hrs to be served. Clam chowder cold & salty. Meals just blah. Go somewhere else. This region has a wealth of cantines & restos that are outstanding.

Yelp
The place we wanted to eat at didn't open until Thursday, so we ended up next door to here. I was a little worried it would be a tourist trap with all the lobster kitsch, but it was so popular, that we decided to give it a try. We sat at the bar and had a nice conversation with the bartender. I ordered a Capitaine Homard draft: it was fantastic. Once seated, we ordered the "Captain's Platter-a Must!" which was a whole lobster, served with smoked salmon, mussels, langoustines, nordic shrimps and whelks. Served with bouillabaisse and fries. I don't know what happened, but it took over 45 minutes to get our food, while people around us, who ordered after us, had their whole lobsters etc served before we got served. I don't mind waiting for a good meal, but when the food came, the lobster was very dry and the whelks were sadly rubbery. The broth was not great. When you're paying $68 for a meal, you want it to be properly cooked. The fries, however, were good and the smoke salmon was excellent. We did try the cheesecake with raspberry coulis for dessert and it was delicious. We got spectacular views of the sunset during and after dinner. I really loved their placemats; they were really pretty. I should have tried to buy some before I left. I would maybe give them another try and order something else expensive, to see how it would turn out.

Yelp
Lovely water views. Lobster in so many different ways. Instagram worthy photos inside. Worth the drive! This place blew my mind. It was amazing to walk into. My jaw dropped when I walked in. It was so cool. It was overly done like a ship with lobster memorabilia everywhere. Everyone in the place was taking photos...they even have a swing inside! I had the lobster rolls and they were fresh and tasty. The lobster tasted like the sea and it was delicious. It's just a 15 minute detour off the highway from quebec to gaspe. But it is definetly worth the drive out. They also have a lovely campground near the water which was pretty nice as well. It's a tourist attraction and I honestly can say if you are in the area I would not miss it! Theres the submarine close by so stop here before and after that visit...you're welcome!

Yelp
In life sometimes you are treated to some truly exceptional experiences. Capitaine Homard ranks up there with a place that you do not think is going to be much but it blows your expectations. Located 20 min from Rimouski or 5 hours 20 minutes from Montreal straight drive (with stops around 6 hours). I've seen the capitaine Homard signs for a long time driving up to Rimouski. It's quite hilarious as someone has designed a whimsical Disney type character for a lobster. They advertise themselves as a restaurant plus seafood shop and campground. So on my last 2-3 trips I've been wondering what Captaine Homard restaurant and Campground is all about. My review is based on the restaurant evening dinner also visiting their Seafood store next door that also acts as the kitchen for the resto. I entered in here before dinner and to my surprise if not shock there were some monster huge lobsters! Talking with one of the workers there he pulled out one monster which he said was around 6.5 pounds. He took me through the restaurant and showed me their storage area. They had 4 tanks. Tank #1 housed 1 1/4 - 1 /3/4 lb. lobsters. Tank #2 had 2- 2 1/2 lb. Tank #3 was 3 to 4 lbs ones and the final tank was 4 lb+ (Gigantic monsters). The room had a unique smell of the sea. The guy mentioned to me they pump in fresh water from the St Lawrence right in front of the restaurant, run it through a few filters and have the lobsters in their most natural environment. I was thinking WOW! He said..... Touch the water and it was ice cold. Very cool experience! After I went over to the restaurant where the window views have a great view of the sea. The decor of the place is like you are in a old Sea captains house. A bit tacky and somewhat whimsical but okay for a seafood place. After some careful consideration I went with the lobster bisque and the seafood casserole with salad and rice. Pricing for fresh lobster was 19.95 a lb for smaller ones and anything 3lb or more was $18 a lb. really reasonable. Lobster bisque was rich in a thick brown broth and had delicious morsels of lobster. It was not fishy but very nice none the less! The Seafood casserole was a creamy mix of shrimp, fresh mussels, salmon, lobster and some other fish. Portion size was not huge but it was rich. Really tasty and wonderful. The salad was nice a fresh and the rice was flavourful and a great compliment to the meal. Really exceptional. There is a great gift shop in which I picked up a few items after dinner! After dinner I went back to say goodbye to the big lobsters. Also to purchase some smoked salmon and some maple smoked salmon morsels. After trying both they were really tasty and fresh! Delicious all around! If in St Flavie a must stop if you like or love seafood. Really reasonable prices and great service and proud people to share their trade. The campground is very cool as they have many places right facing the water!

Yelp
Reasonably priced tourist locale for lobster along the St. Lawrence Seaway on the Gaspe peninsula. Great seafood. Avail yourself of the campground, mini golf and shop.
