Booked through Booking.com a month ago (12/24), received a confirmation email and everything. Just got to the hotel today (1/25) and it’s fully closed… A security guard came out to tell us the hotel is closed down so we’re scrambling. Don’t make the same mistake as us!

I stayed here for a week while I was in Makati. The location is great. It's walking distance from anything you'd like to do. The rooms are a cool, rustic design. Which I liked. The only problem I had was the different occasions I saw roaches. Now I understand I'm in Philippines, and sometimes you may see ants or a roach every now and then. But I killed a roach in my room almost everyday I was there. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay.

Pros - The staff was great, very friendly and helpful - The breakfast was tasty - The bed was comfortable - The room was cleaned and water replaced daily - Robes were a nice addition - Room 303 and 403 were good size - The location is good for nightlife and central so easy to explore the area by foot - Plenty of places to eat and drink in the area Cons - No soundproofing to the rooms, the rooms facing the street had balcony windows broken (we tried room 303 and 403) so we could hear the noisy street 24/7. The owner should really invest in replacing the broken windows as they are not sealed and we could not close them properly. There was no break from the noise and we could not sleep after 30h journey. Recovering from jet lag took us over 3-4 days with practically no sleep, we were irritated and desperate to leave this hotel - Hotel is located next to a few night clubs which blast loud music every day until 3-4am, it’s like a torture, the hotel is shaking from it and you can not sleep at all (I’m normally a heavy sleeper) - The hotel describes a hairdryer in a room but we didn’t get one (however the staff provided it upon request) - The hotel describes coffee in the room, but there was none - The room would benefit from some additional hooks to hang stuff, a full length mirror and some extra storage/cupboard - The breakfast included in price was a bit limited, only 3-4 options to choose from the menu, and 1 drink (either coffee/tea or juice) and the 2nd drink is charged - we felt it was a bit small for the price Overall, if you’re looking for a party and don’t mind sleepless nights on your holiday, you may enjoy this hotel. But if you want to catch up on sleep after a long journey and enjoy Manila with some peace and quiet in your room and a good night sleep, AVOID.

I love this place! it's all perfect. simple, functional and cozy. i felt so comfortable that i didn't leave the hotel for a day. which is also because the cuisine and service is excellent. For example, i had a slight cold and immediately a hot lemon on the table - just like that. That is service! As it is run by french expect french guests, too. Which is nice as well.

Element is a funky, bohemian boutique hotel with fantastic staff, cool atmosphere and comfy enough rooms. Art is everywhere on the walls, the food is heavily influenced by a French owner who is also a baker so the bread products here are 🔥, as is the whole menu. The barstaff, reception and housekeeping staff are first class. If you need to be in Manila/Makati/Poblacion, this is the place to eat and stay.

Lovely hotel, great location, friendly helpful staff and very delicious food. But - the room we stayed in had no soundproofing so we slept very badly (and I am a strong sleeper). Cockerels, dogs, music from the reception and a strange beeping noise from outside kept us awake in room 202. When we inspected it looked like the window didn’t close properly hence making the noise worse. Make sure you ask for a different room and bring your ear plugs. Despite the noise and lack of sleep we did enjoy our stay here.

Terrible! There are multiple clubs nearby that you can hear during the night. One of them is the direct neighbour. We couldnt sleep because the music was so loud! Like our bed was on the dance floor.
