The Best Airport Lounges in the US Have Speakeasies, Fireplaces, and Cheesemongers | Condé Nast Traveler

"Opened in June 2025, the JFK lounge spreads across 13,500 square feet and layers on showers, several bars (including one for coffee), a bodega, and even cheese selected by a local cheesemonger." - Brittany Chang

To me, airport liunge hopper (LOL) This ia a beautifully designed, high-end lounge that feels more like a boutique New York restaurant than an airport stop. Definitely worth a 5-star rating. Its one of the best airport lounges in the U.S. modern, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. The interior is very nice, with a perfect color combination and attention to detail that make the space feel luxurious yet comfortable. Even the packaging and presentation of food and drinks are on point — you can tell they take things a little extra to elevate the experience. Excellent selection — fresh bagels from Ess-a-Bagel, made-to-order dishes via QR code, and a curated cheese tasting. The bar serves quality cocktails, wines, and local drinks. Oh they have coffee bar! yes with the barista and fun snack on the go selection 😋 Private restrooms, shower suites (you need to book for this), quiet rooms, and a parents’ room. Again, the color coordination, LOVED! Every seat has power outlets and fast Wi-Fi. lastly, friendly, attentive staff who keep things running smoothly. Just be aware they might get crowded on peak hours. MUST visit!

My experience at this lounge was next level! It’s a beautiful, expansive space with multiple areas for lounging, getting work done, eating, drinking and resting! The cheese tasting experience was SO fun! It’s a little confusing to know how to get on the waitlist for this … if you want to sign up for this incredible experience, go straight to the counter when you arrive at the lounge and ask to join the waitlist. My wait was less time than I thought it would be and I loved every minute of the ensuing experience. Drinks are delicious and creative and I loved ordering a bevy of delicious bites like the chicken pot pie and the short rib slider to the table. I didn’t have enough time to experience it all and can’t wait to go back!

The Capital One Lounge at JFK was an excellent experience! Everything was perfect — delicious food, friendly service, and a clean, spacious atmosphere. I didn’t get to try the cheese sample station, but everything else was great. Definitely one of the nicest airport lounges I’ve visited!

What an incredible experience for Capital One card holders. This lounge is far none. Hands down one of the best in the country. The experience they provided for my family was one of the best. Extremely clean facility with very friendly people. Their cheese experience was next level and Syed was a gray host. I highly recommend the Capital One lounge at NYC. To the staff, Keep up the great work!

My first time in this lounge and it is amazing!! I enjoyed it so much, it has a bar with a great menu, lots of desserts and mini meals so you can try everything without feeling too full. Best of all, is that they incentivize you to take and grab a bite. Lots of to go items!

Wonderful airport lounge. This space is well designed , clean , and comfortable. Some highlights are the Murray Cheese shop wine and cheese tasting. Highly knowledgeable cheese monger space that is everything you desire. In addition, there is a full bagel shop. A great perk is the to go bags for your flight. Food is delicious and presented with care. Lastly, the private rooms are fabulous for a respite. All included in your visit ! Highly recommend. Way to go Capitol One !

Arrival time: 11:30pm They say the new Capital One in Terminal 4 is the best lounge at JFK. They claim to be 24/7, however upon check-in, my boyfriend and I were met with “sorry we just scheduled our last shower slot”, Murray’s cheesemonger experience that I was looking forward to the most had since closed, all craft cocktails at the bar had closed the moment we entered the lounge. Instead of the bartender offering us one craft cocktail, he shrugged, “I have a life too”, after we had explained we had entered the lounge mere seconds ago. That being said, all beer, wine, and simple mixed drinks (i.e. vodka soda) were available until 12:00am **sharp** — in a 24hr premium lounge in the city that doesn’t sleep this felt completely absurd. As for non-alcoholic bevs, La Colombe products anchored the space, however don’t expect the same quality as you would in-store. The matcha latte was not consumable and a horrid green tone, the chai latte was extremely spicy, and the oat milk lattes on draft were not operable. So at 11:30pm, burnt drip coffee and cold brew were left. We stuck with water. All hot food and made-to-order food (including bagels) shutters at 12:00am **sharp** so we felt rushed in being able to settle in comfortably. Thankfully, 30min was more than enough to grab a taste of the items we wanted to try most. Favorites include: smoked salmon bagel (90% driven by the novelty of ordering this complimentary at the airport — kudos to the team for the concept — however, the bagel itself was rock solid and the size of a fist, not a true Ess-a-bagel as advertised and frankly embarrassing for the Ess-a-bagel brand), beet and goat cheese risotto, and the deviled egg. To make matters worse, both comfortable dining areas also close promptly at 12:00am so employees shoved everyone and their bags into the center seating space. It felt unnecessary and uncomfortable crowding for a premium lounge that claims to be 24hrs. Admittedly, the lounge would have probably been a delight had we entered when all facilities were open. Arriving after 11pm though, I will seriously consider another lounge. TLDR: - Arrive before 10pm for a comfortable experience - Food = 6/10 - Drink = 3/10

Google
Pretty nice amd cozy lounge ... perfect before a long flight. Foods quality is great .. Neat and clean place .... Design and the color combination of the place is absolutely amazing. Restroom, family room , various food , bar , food station and buffet all are very clean and up keep. 100 percent recommended ... Only venture X holder gets free, priority pax does not get free access.

Yelp
Amazing experience! We skipped Amex Centurion lounge for this one because I heard Centurion is always crowded. Ended up being a good decision. What really peaked our interest was they told us there is a parents lounge, so we went there first. Best parent's/nursing room so far. It even has a Philips bottle warmer! Nice clean room, with diapers and wipes and changing station. Whoever designed this room must be a parent. Tons of food choices. At the cafe bar, you can order sandwiches/bagels, cups of salads to go. At the tables, you can scan the QR code to order food from kitchen. There's a buffet for other small eats. The cheese bar! Ah too bad we didn't have enough time to enjoy the tasting experience. It's all the way at the end of the lounge on the left side and need to get on the list when you get there. Staff are all friendly and said hi to my baby. Staff also constantly cleaned and replenished the buffet. Bathrooms are very roomy and clean. Also they gave us a bib for my baby. Super cute. Amazing experience and thank the staff for making it friendly.

Yelp
I can't believe a Capital One lounge opened in JFK and I have to say that this is probably the best lounge here! It was a blessing in disguise for my other usual lounge to be full because I might've not noticed it on my way towards my gate! Anyway, I had to add my two cents, because it's pretty ridiculous that there are reviews here saying this is one of the best airport lounges they've been to, but still find something to complain about like this is a Michelin star restaurant. Don't let those reviews scare you away from a visit! I don't even know where to start, but there's a amazing grab & go counter near the entrance, which includes coffee, toasted bagels, and a hot breakfast sandwich! There's the small bites area, which was pretty awesome, but this location even has a QR menu you can scan and order a few things your way, such as sliders and mac & cheese! And if you have 45 minutes (haha), there's a cheese bar where you can reserve a seat and sample their selection of cheeses. Maybe next time, Capital One!

Yelp
What a lounge! The Capital One Lounge at JFK opened earlier this year, and it's one of the best lounges I've been to. I got there about 10 minutes early for the 3-hour-before-flight entry time, and the hostess told me they have a 15-minute window, which worked out perfectly. The space is modern, super clean, and the service is quick and friendly. The food isn't mind-blowing, but it's pretty good, especially compared to other airport lounges. They have a few different food options. I love that you can just scan a QR code to order small tapas-style plates right to your table, or you can grab bites from a little self-serve area. I tried the short rib sliders, mac and cheese, and white bean soup, and everything was really good. I sat near the bar and decided to ask the bartender to recommend a drink. She was awesome and picked out the perfect gin-based drink called the Jetliner. It was refreshing and exactly what I needed to relax before my flight. The bathrooms are kind of limited, though. There are only about six stalls for the whole lounge, which can be a little annoying if a lot of people have flights around the same time. Past the little tapas area, there's a cheese tasting experience that runs from 11:30 AM to 6:15 PM. You just talk to the staff at the back to check availability. I chatted with a staff member around 5 PM, and he added me to the waitlist. He said the wait is shorter if you're alone, but it would still be about 45 minutes. To my surprise, I only waited 20 minutes. If they're fully booked, they do have a pre-made cheese plate you can grab. Once you're seated, the cheese monger walks you through the process. You get three cheeses with meats, crackers, jams, honey, and pickles. The cheese monger is super knowledgeable and starts you off with a sample before letting you pick your own for a mini cheese board. They also pair the cheeses with drinks, starting with a glass of sherry, followed by wine, and ending with limoncello. I loved the truffle cheese, the marinated cheese, and, lastly, the whipped honey. If you've got 45 minutes to spare, I highly recommend going! If you're in a rush, the lounge also has a grab-and-go section where you can pick up snacks or take cookies in to-go bags. I grabbed some chocolate espresso beans on my way out. Overall, this place was amazing, and I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
This is one of the better lounges that wifey and I have encountered. It is well planned out, spacious, and quiet. They have a nice bar, a cheese station, a coffee station, and weight staff that will bring you hot food. Everything is top-notch. Service is friendly.

Yelp
The Capital One Lounge at JFK is opened earlier this year and it's one of the best airport lounges I've been to. It's spacious and the service is fast and friendly. The food isn't mind-blowingly good or anything, but it's decent, especially compared to some other airport lounges. They have a few different options for food. I like that you can scan a QR code and order small tapas-style plates to your table. You can also go up to the bagel counter to order some food/drinks. The place is new and clean; time will tell if it holds up.

Yelp
This lounge was really well done! I've frequented the Denver lounge often and that one is always so crowded and quite small, so I was worried it would be a similar situation here. This jfk lounge was much more spacious. This does make bringing back drinks and food a bit tricky since the food is on one end of the lounge and the bar is at the other end. Drinks were nice and strong and they have quite the list for NY-location special cocktails. The wines were surprisingly decent too. Food was a mixed bag - the meat in the sliders were a little overcooked. The desserts were great, especially the blondies. The bagels were a disappointment...bagel was too dry and rock hard. Though they did not skimp out on the fillings. The seats were very comfortable with outlets everywhere and WiFi was fast.

Yelp
Greetings! Well this lounge took me by complete surprise! I'm Usually a Delta Lounge girlie and for the 1st in a while my flight was boarding from a B gate . If you know about JFK Delta Lounges they are far unless it's the Delta One lounge ( I haven't been yet but soon come !) I discover I'm near both the Amex and Capital one lounge : I decide to see if I can get all the folks I'm traveling in with in the Capital one lounge . I can and do and the fee was actually cheaper $45 than the Delta Lounge . I believe you need a VentureX for complimentary access or a Venture card that can purchase access . The food is excellent . They have prepared food , a coffe bar and food made to order . The made to order food you use the QR code on the table to order . I had the premade egg sandwich that looked like an egg McMuffin and it was delish . I also had OJ and a latte . The lounge is open 24 hrs they have showers . You can use the app to sign in and secure your spot or just present your card upon entry . The only downside is not many locations yet . JFK , Vegas , DC (IAD and DCA) , Denver and Dallas . LGA is coming but not open yet .

Yelp
This is a great lounge! When we got there we were quickly checked in. The front desk even helped us locate our departing gate and let us know how far it was, which was really nice. When we walked inside, I was pleased to see there was ample seating options and it was not very crowded. The most iconic part of this lounge is hands down the counter offering Ess-a-bagel goodies and freshly brewed coffees and teas. They even have matcha options. It was really amazing. They also have QR codes on the table that you can scan and there are some food options which are prepared and brought to the table. The service was pretty quick. There is a cheesemonger station which offers a 45 minute cheese tasting course. We did not have time to do it, but hopefully next time we can experience it. The board looked real tasty. We did get a small plate of cheese and it was delicious. The food stations are great, and everything is very clean and well kept. The bar is located on the other side of the lounge and offers a full menu of cocktail options and wines. The bartenders were amazing. The bathrooms are extremely spacious and each bathroom is a private room which I love. There are also showers available in case you want to refresh before your flight. Very relaxing lounge!

Yelp
Love the fact that is lounge is the first one past security and no walking miles to get to. Front desk was very welcoming and gave a nice wifi card. Plenty of restrooms, showers, private rooms, nursing room, and nice bites to eat.

Yelp
I think I am in love with the Capital One airport lounges. I went to the Amex lounge and there was a wait. But these Capital One lounges are unique. Like in DC they offer tapas style plates rather than the buffet style. They also provide better quality food - none of that dreaded compressed chicken parts which is the standard elsewhere. Now the Capital One Lounge at JFK is really hard to find and there are no signs to identify it - which was good for me I experienced no line!

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday during a 5 hour layover between Athens and San Francisco. Had a really pleasant stay and was so grateful that we had a chill place to be during a long layover. Have been to the Cap One lounges in Vegas and Denver before, and this one is very similar in vibes but with a New York twist. Brought in one guest with the venture X card Pros: - Really efficient service - there's plenty of self-serve buffet style small portion dishes you can pick up, or you can order "larger" dishes through a QR code on the tables. My favorites were the deviled eggs, the sliders, and the beet risotto. - Some "novel" things that are not available at the other lounge locations, including the bagel station and the cheesemonger (kind of has charterie-like options). - Mocktails and cocktails made to order at the bar. I had a mocktail and it was delicious! - They let us in for 4+ hours as long as we showed our previous and next boarding pass to prove we were here for a layover. - All the staff were very professional and kind, kept our tables cleaned and checked in on us. Mid-afternoon there was also champagne passed around with a cart. - Gorgeous vibes with great lighting, feels very modern but upscale New York at the same time. - Wasn't too crowded until around dinner time, when it started getting busier. But still had space to sit. Comfy chairs - Clean bathrooms - Many easy outlets to utilize Cons: - can be a easy to miss the entrance, but the staff at JFK are very helpful in directing us there. Keep in mind it is NOT on the same level as the amex centurion and other lounges - The cheesemonger is an experience that is better if you have a lot of time to kill Overall, had a fantastic experience here, I so wish that they would keep the guest benefit after next year! Will definitely be stopping by here anytime I'm going through JFK.

Yelp
One of my favorite lounges. This lounge was located in terminal at JFK but it was very spacious with lots of amenities. A full bar, a cheese board area including a sit down experience, and many snack options. This location really cozy and made the 3 hours fly by before our flight. Employees there are consistently cleaning up and on top of everything. I highly recommend for capital one venture card users. Def worth it.

Yelp
Not to brag, but we're a bit of lounge snobs. Having visited all the Capital One lounges, it's a pleasure to be the first to review this one at JFK. Right from the start, the staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. The lounge itself is simply gorgeous - comfortable and stylish, blending the nostalgic charm of old-school New York with a sleek, modern luxury (and yes, I'm intentionally avoiding the overused "mid-century modern" label). The food selection is slightly more limited than in some other lounges, but it makes up for it with a standout feature: a full-on bagel bar showcasing some of the best bagels NYC has to offer. There's also an à la carte menu you can order from via their website. On one side of the lounge, you'll find a full bar with generous seating - it practically begs for a live jazz trio to complete the scene. Tucked away on the opposite side is a hidden gem: a cheesemonger station offering a 45-minute guided tasting experience. Yes, please.

Yelp
We went on opening day and were lucky enough to get the cheese monger experience without reservation!! Would recommend reserving for future visits It was amazing! You get 45min to eat as much cheese as you want, selected by the cheese monger if you wish. I think they get cheeses from Murray cheese which immediately gained my trust :D They offered unlimited wine or drink pairings as well. The lounge is so spacious and upscale. The service is extremely friendly. The food options are healthy and small portioned so you can try everything. This lounge makes it easy to take out your food on the go. Can't wait to be back

Yelp
Capital One at JFK is a different type of lounge experience. The experience feels fresh and new (actually the lounge is as well). The lounge offers a tapas experience where you order from your table via phone so it's not a university style buffet. The food, at least for now, tastes higher quality than competitors and it offers variety. The lounge feels vibrant and keeps the overcrowding down. Service has been relatively quick. The cheese shop is quite notable which seems to up the game. This is quite a value provided they do not raise prices or lower quality.

Yelp
Welcome to the best credit card lounge at JFK. That's right, I said it. The lounge is nestled in Terminal 4. Once you clear security, go downstairs and turn to the left. Keep walking until you pass Swarovski, and you'll find your destination. Upon entering the lounge, you find one of the best parts about this lounge: the attentive staff. During our visit, the lounge was between rushes, so we were checked in immediately and quickly found a seat next to the food. At the food bar was a variety of single-serving dishes for us to try. I opted for the panzanella salad and a caprese-like crostini. There wasn't enough sauce to bring the panzanella together, but the crostini was excellent. On each table is a QR code you can scan to order hot food from the kitchen. During our visit, the menu included that most delicious slider and a surprisingly delicious mini bowl of mac and cheese. All the hot food items are free, so order or pick up as many as you'd like. I'm going to take a moment here to once again call out this lounge's excellent service. The staff in the seating area keeps an eye on you and doesn't let a collection of dirty dishes sit on your table for very long. Tables in lounges aren't very big to begin with, and if there are two of you, table real estate is even more scarce. However, you won't have to worry about that as much due to the incredible table bussing team. Dining at the Capitol One Lounge features a dessert bar. During our visit, it included cinnamon rolls, apple turnovers, and some chocolate offerings. Next to the desserts, you'll find to-go bags. One of my favorite things about Cap One Lounges is that they know you have a flight ahead of you, so they encourage you to take items with you. On the other side of the coffee bar, there's a snack area with more to-go bags so you can load up on snacks for your flight. I took full advantage of the BBQ corn nuts they had on hand for the flight. I glossed over it, but yes, there is a coffee bar to get your caffeine fix. They also offer tea, matcha, and hot chocolate. At the coffee bar, you'll also find prepackaged food items to enjoy at the lounge or on your flight. And we can't forget that you can order Ess-a-bagels if you missed them during your time in the city. One of the more unique experiences at this lounge is the cheese-and-wine tasting. Located just past the food stations, you'll find this experience. Unfortunately, the timing of our flight did not work out for us to try it. Hopefully, next time. Speaking of alcohol, you're able to pick your poison at the extreme opposite end of the lounge. There's plenty of seating at the bar and quite a few tables in the bar area. Capital One didn't cut corners here. There is an extensive cocktail menu for you to choose from that isn't just limited to offshoots of standard cocktails, some of which come from some of the city's most popular bars. The beer and wine options are also no joke, having been well curated. Finally, as the sun hits the horizon, the lounge passes out glasses of bubbles to its patrons to celebrate sunset and wish you well on your flight. The bar is staffed by enough bartenders to put some of NYC's most famed bars to shame. It's clear that Capital One doesn't want people standing around waiting for their order, and even when the lounge hit its rush, people didn't have to, thanks to the well-staffed bar. If you decide to sit at the bar, you're in for a good time. The bartenders are funny, personable, and just a joy to be around. If you're still with me after all of that, I think it's safe to say that the Capitol One Lounge at JFK is worth your time. It offers something for everyone and, just as importantly, offers you something for your time in the air.

Yelp
One of the greatest airport lounges at JFK by far! The concept of grab and go food is unique to the Capital One Lounge and one that is truely appreciated when you are rushing to catch a flight that you know will not have meals. The bagels are sizable and very filling. Do note that the options are split between breakfast and after breakfast options. I have tried almost the entire menu, and my tried and true favorites are the Red Eye BEC from the AM offerings, the Pastrami & Swiss from the PM menu, the beet risotto from the made to order lunch/dinner menu, and chocolate cookies from the snack bar. Best part is this lounge partners with various made in and local new york businesses. The cookies taste suspiciously like a good old Tate's bakeshop cookies which is probably why they are my favorite dessert at the lounge. The lounge also offers private rooms for 45min periods that can be reserved either at the front desk or via qr code outside either of the 2 rooms. The room is not soundproof but does provide a nice private nap area or small workspace. The bar has a long list of cocktail, wines, low abv bevs, and a few nonalcoholic options to choose from, but you can also order off the menu drinks if you wish. The lounge itself is open 24/7 but is restricted to the front section overnight for cleaning purposes and breakfast does not start until 7am, lunch starts at 11am. The other unique part about the Capital One lounge is the cheese tasting experience at the other side, past the open food bar. This runs from roughly 11:30am-6:15pm on select days for open slots. You can speak to the staff at the back to ask for availability. The cheeses rotate but you get a selection of 3 cheeses that come with meats crackers, spreads, and pickles. The knowledgeable cheese monger starts you off with a sample before you get to pick your own for a mini cheese board. The whole experience has 3 alcoholic beverage pairings but you can also request refills or other wines throughout the tasting. It starts with sherry and ends with lemoncello. I enjoyed the truffle cheese, and the marinated cheese the most but the creamier vermont based cheeses were also very good. If you have 45 mins to spare, highly recommend sitting through this. You can also get sample cheeses to go. The staff also come around with carts throughout the day and certain times with teas.

Yelp
A great 24/7 lounge at JFK. However, if you're there before 5am, there is honestly nothing there other than a separate space to hang out/sit in the airport. They don't let you in unless it's 3 hours before your flight or if you're on a layover. We had a very early morning flight so my partner drove us to the airport before he went to bed at 1am and we just hung out until we were able to get into the lounge. As we already spent a couple hours at the airport, we were kind of cold so once we got in, we requested some tea. There are a few great things about this lounge. -They have a cheese monger experience and we lucked out one of the few times we went, as we were able to experience it. We were the first people that day to do it at 11:30am. It came with wines and 4 types of cheese. One is their signature, and then you get a choice of 3 of the displayed cheeses. My friend and I got varying cheeses so we could try most of them (skipped out on the bleu cheese because we weren't bleu cheese fans). -The to go counter where you can grab and go some bagel sandwiches. There are two specialty bagels for the AM, and two for the PM that cannot be customized (i.e. I wanted jalepenos on the bagel that doesn't come with it). -They'll sometimes have carts for tea or cheese service which is great. -They serve local NY drinks (e.g. beer). Some things that can be changed. -I wish the hot water and teas were accessible without having to ask someone behind the take out counter. -Of all the food I tried, I enjoyed the beet risotto the most. Most of the other food felt like it needed more seasoning. -While they had a large cocktail menu, I didn't enjoy most of the drinks. Next time I will try some traditional drinks. -I wish there were condiments like hot sauce, ketchup, etc. All in all, it's a great place to spend some time before flights or during a layover. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Yelp
Five star treatment I totally recommend it. The food was delicious and service was excellent. The coffee was feast and much better than whatever coffee available for purchase outside. Bagels station to order. I heard good things about the cheese monger but unfortunately they were closed.

Yelp
I don't leave many reviews esp for airport lounges, but I had to take a moment for this one. The Capital One Lounge at JFK is *stunning*. Brand new (just opened June 2025), and you can feel it -- everything is fresh, modern, and thoughtfully designed. I was here for a layover and honestly didn't want to leave. The food alone is worth the visit: I had a short rib slides, succotash, and salad, all delicious, fresh, and elevated far beyond typical lounge fare. There's a full-service bar, a dedicated coffee station, and something I've never seen before offered at an airport lounge-- a cheese experience room that requires a reservation. It's a 45-minute curated session and totally unique. I didn't get to try but would love to experience this when I come back...eyeing for more layovers in JFK! Another lovely touch? They offer baggies so you can take some pastries to go. That little detail made a big impression. Capital One knocked it out of the park with this one. If you're passing through JFK and have access -- GO.

Yelp
Brand new lounge which was a little hard to find. Once we found it, it was not too crowded. We first sat by the cheesemonger and didn't have time to experience the tasting. I grabbed a few quick bites (didn't order any hot food). Then we went to the bar area. On our way out, I got a bagel with cream cheese and avocado and took a small bag of nuts and dried fruits.

Yelp
This was my first Capital One Lounge that I've experienced and it exceeded my expectations. First off, the interior is so beautiful designed--it's giving modern art deco lounge vibes. There were also plenty of seating and didn't feel crowded at all. Upon entering, I made a beeline to the full bar which was fully stocked and gorgeous. Daquan hooked it up with the Grass Widow mocktail, which was a sweet citrusy treat. They also had a handful of mocktails to choose from, if that is up your alley. Ordering hot foods from the QR code was pretty straight forward. While waiting for my food to arrive, perused the buffet, pastry, and cheesemonger sections. I got a little bit of everything: deviled egg, tomato crostini, black and white cookie, and sharp cheddar. These were great bites to open up the palette for the main course. Let me introduce to you the start of the show: The braised Berkshire pork shank with pea risotto. Oh my goodness, this was so heavenly! The pork was so tender, savory, and flavorful. The pea risotto was rich and creamy, which was a nice compliment to the pork. I should've gotten two of these, but I was on a crunch for time! To wash it all down, don't forget to try the Rustic White Bean & Spinach Soup, which might have been the most flavorful veggie soup that I've had. After my meal, I went to check out the Bodega, which serves coffee, tea, and NYC's coveted Ess-a-Bagel. I was so bummed for not getting any pastrami sandwiches while in NYC, but I was delighted to see they had a Pastrami & Swiss bagel on the menu. I copped that and a smashed avocado schmear bagel for the plane ride. Let me tell you...this pastrami, even though a little smushed and have been sitting in my backpack for 3 hours, was the best thing I've ever sunken my teeth into on an airplane. One thing that's consistent with Capital One, is that they don't play about their flavors! This pastrami might even be comparable to Katz's so I definitely was a happy camper. The Capital One Lounge made flying that much more enjoyable and I honestly want to fly more just to check out the different lounges that they have across the US.

Yelp
I swear, we will be back! Visiting the capital one lounge this evening over exceeded my expectations. From the welcoming and kind service at the entrance, sweet and quick service by food expeditors and bussers, and the "ohana" (that means family/team in Hawaiian) behind the bar I could not have asked for a better experience aka layover that I'll love! You can order hot food off the menu, they have a charcuterie wine bar, self serve cold bar, and comfortable seating throughout the venue with a view. Thank you Ricky, Talia, Santiago and Khalil for making our time there relaxing and memorable! Cinnamon garnish for the win Til next time!

Yelp
Fantastic lounge and service. Excellent place to stop before our flight. The staff were great and lots of food options. I wasnt there long enough to do the wine and cheese tasting - but next time!!! Great seating setup and it was very clean.

Yelp
This is by far the best capital one lounge I've been to. Bagel bar, guided cheese experience with pairings? Sign me up. They also have showers and is open 24/7. The staff were also all very nice and welcoming, shoutout to Odell! Everything in here is also inspired by NYC, either by local artists or bowls made by local stores. Love this place.

Yelp
Other than the annoyance of JFK and the need to go in and out of security and use the AirTrain between terminals, the Cap1 Lounge is very solid. It's in terminal 4 and after checking in you have a ton of area to chill as you wait for your flight. The food is similar to other Cap1 lounges where it's served on mini plates vs the usual large buffet style. In addition you can use the QR code to order a few other dishes. I got the slider and the mac and cheese and both were pretty good. Comparable as well lounges. The bar is pretty good but the bartender was a bit frustrated at the time and it showed with his service to the guests. There is a cheesemonger which is so unique, which also is a bit strange for NY. I mean I don't think of cheese when I think of NY but it's a cool perk. The best thing of Cap1 lounges is the grab and go section which came in clutch for my cross-country flight where I got a bagel sandwich and fruit to go. Really like that it can compete with the Centurion lounges and recommend giving it a try if you have time before your flight.

Yelp
Just came 2 hours before my flight and had the best time. Was able to get a lot of work done and had breakfast, 2 coffees, and ordered a bagel sandwich for my flight. The bathrooms are so nice and there were even parents rooms and shower suites if needed. Very chill environment and everyone who worked here is so sweet!

Yelp
Lounge is closed and staff is not able to tell us when it'll reopen. Services not great compared to other lounges.

Yelp
I just want to take a moment to say this is hands down the nicest, cleanest, and most organized Capital One Lounge I've ever been to. I travel often and have visited lounges all over the world this one is truly top notch. A special thank you to Sergio, the manager, for his outstanding hospitality. With a leader like him, it's easy to see why this lounge operates at such a high level. My flight was delayed, and I arrived just 10 minutes before closing, but Sergio still went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of. He personally showed me how to order hot dishes via the QR code and even arranged a pastrami bagel to-go honestly, the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had! His entire team was attentive, kind, and professional throughout. The lounge itself is spacious, spotless, and exceptionally well-run. Thank you, Sergio, for creating such a great experience. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Capital One, if you're reading this promote this man to General Manager ASAP! The world needs more people like him.

Yelp
Poo review: behold the new king of poo spots at JFK! Clean, massive bathroom with total privacy. Good flush, nice soap, the whole poo package! 10/10 would poo again

Yelp
One of the nicest lounges that I've been to. All of the food was delicious; I got the deviled eggs and tomato crostini from the buffet, and then ordered via QR code, the Pat La Freida Braised Berkshire Pork Shank Pea Risotto with Crispy Parmesan, and the 5 Spoke Creamery Mac & Cheese with Garlic Herbed Bread Crumbs. There's also a cheesemonger and a bodega where I got a salmon bagel and iced coffee that were great. Service was also good, and the lounge was uncrowded with plenty of space and no wait.

Yelp
Best $90 I've Ever Spent on a Layover! After a 10-hour flight to JFK, I was utterly exhausted and staring down a 10-hour layover. I tried a couple of airline lounges first, but was turned away because they only allow entry within 3 hours of departure (super frustrating). Thankfully, I found the Capital One Lounge--and it turned out to be the best decision of the trip. Even though I'm not a Capital One Venture cardholder, I paid the $90 fee, and honestly, it was worth every penny. I gained access to a private room where I could actually rest, along with a shower that completely rejuvenated me. For long-haul travelers, those two things alone are a total lifesaver. On top of that, the food and drinks were fantastic--definitely a step above what I've seen in other lounges. I've been to lounges in the U.S., Asia, and Europe, but nothing has compared to this experience. The Capital One Lounge at JFK is officially my new go-to. Whether you're a cardholder or paying for access, if you've got a long layover, don't even think twice.

Yelp
The service was excellent. All staff were friendly and helpful. There was a large variety of food options, all excellent in taste! The mixologists were experts in their craft, making delicious cocktails and offering friendly conversation. 10/10!

Yelp
What a great experience. The staff were extremely friendly, got food orders promptly, and the service was better than some high-priced restaurants I've dined at before. The food selection was very good, and ranged from a made-to-order bagel bar to order-off-the-menu pork shank and Mac and cheese, to buffet-style salads, small bites, and desserts. They have a great coffee bar and sodas. Didn't see any juice and didn't try the alcohol bar though. Overall, easily one of the best lounge experiences I've had. Thanks Capital One!

Yelp
NOT GREAT AT ALL. This was a total disappointment compared to the Capital One Lounge at DFW. We had high hopes for this lounge as it is supposed to be their flagship location. The breakfast is really subpar and check-in is not very helpful . The DFW lounge is hands down way way way better than JFK in terms of quality of food and selection. The focus here is bagels and they were....to say it bluntly...gross. If you are a New Yorker be prepared to be disappointed. This lounge has a lot of hype because they want to recreate the bagel and bodega experience but it falls short. Whoever created this concept should go to a real bodega or local bagel shop and compare that to what they serve here. They source their bagels from Ess A Bagel (a famous NYC bagel icon) but sadly the quality it not what it used to be. They mass produce their bagels and you can tell. I had an everything bagel and it had absolutely no flavor (onion, garlic salt etc flavor non existent) and were not fully cooked and not fully toasted. I can honestly say this was the first time I didn't finish a bagel. You can find better at any bagel cart in your way to work in the city. (Or if you're on the upper east side you know the Bagel Shop on 93rd and 3rd Ave!!) The eggs here are a microwaved something creation. At DFW you have various hot dishes (FRESH eggs, sausage, grits etc) individually served in little pans on the hot self serve line and really good pastries like pain chocolat. butter croissants and a great coffee shops and bar. HERE the pastries were COLD and right out of the box and just poor quality (rock hard, day old?? cinnamon rolls and DRY apple turnovers and coffee cakes that will be a challenge to finish) The self serve line had 3 choices: Quarter sized avocado toast, fruit salad, oatmeal and egg McMuffin style sandwiches. The online menu offered 3 options, challah french toast, spinach egged benedict, and steel cut oats. The eggs benedict was the only fresh thing I enjoyed. The dining area staff and coffee bar employees are super attentive and hard working so much so I left them a tip thus the 2 stars. The Amex Centurion Lounge might not be brand new but it's still the BEST.

Yelp
Great ambiance, incredible food, and plenty of seating seconded only by an extraordinary level of service by lounge staff. Shout out to Davey for amazing hospitality!

Yelp
I was happy to visit a capital one lounge for the first time at JFK. I was traveling alone with my two year old and wanted to use the lounge changing table amenities and grab food. Despite having a confirmed ticket and a Venture X card, I was refused entry. I was told to go to B41 to get a seat, which we did but because they were working to get my daughter and I seated together, they said my seat would not be available until boarding. I returned and explained and Capital one still refused. It's one thing if a person is on standby, but to refuse me because I'm waiting to be seated with my daughter is a flaw in the policy that has a disparate impact of people with kids under 6. I explained this as well, and was still refused entry. I'd expect more for Capital One, premium card service, and as a human being. Rather than make my airport experience easier and more comfortable, Capital One had running around and denied me something that I paid for. Capital one must do better.

Yelp
I was robbed for $90 to access the showers at the lounge I had a flight within 3 hours, I was told wait time is less than an hour so I agreed and paid the $90, after I made the payment I was told it'll take 3-4 hours to access the showers. I will never come back again and never will use a Capital one lounge anywhere anymore. Lesson learned!

Yelp
By far the best lounge in terminal 4. This is the first review I've ever written and it's because I felt compelled to given how busy the other T4 lounges usually are. Awesome food and great service.
