Capital One

Have been with Cap 1 for over 10 years. Since that time they have closed most branches and made themselves difficult to access. Most recently a move to the Discover network has me closing my account. Doesn't seem like it would be an issue until you leave the country and realize that outside the USA no one uses Discover network so you can't access your money. They've gone from a great bank to one that makes them difficult to work with.

Stay away from anything to do with Capital One They are the worst of the worst. Especially with their Capital One Credit Cards. I had a credit card with them at first they were ok I always made sure that I paid my balance in full every month. One month I had to split my payment in half and paid more than the month payment to keep from getting charged interest rates but they charged me anyway I told them they couldn't do that then I had ESPN briefly and I cancelled it I went in on the apt and removed the credit card and closed it out in December I was sent confirmation from Capital One that it was closed then Jan 6th 2026 I got charged for ESPN of $32.98 I told capital one that the account was closed I sent them proof they Remberst for it then they turned around and charged me again. They told me I didn't send enough proof how much more do you need when you send a screen shot showing it was closed. I had been with them for 5 months and ask for a credit increase I get a denial letter from credit wise stating I have 11 open accounts which in fact I had one now I have zero I paid my account off and closed it out before Feb 6th they were going to charge me again for ESPN. Now I can understand why they have a lawsuit against them for banking for the way they do people and when you call them u can't talk to anyone who speaks english. Zero stars all the way with a warning to stay away from Capital One period

CapitalOne DOES NOT verify information on auto loans. BEWARE! I had someone that does not live at my house obtain an auto loan from CapitalOne and all their info is coming here. I spent 1 hour on the phone with them just to be told they do not care. THIS IS FRAUD! If someone uses your address to obtain a loan without your permission it’s fraud. I asked CapitalOne to reach out to this person as he is their customer and was told NO, THEY WOULD NOT DO THAT. Unreal. I will never be a CapitalOne customer after this.

An active account is fine. Once you finish payments it all gets worse. When you over pay on your last payment good luck getting your money/difference back. You call and you will get disconnected. No info on where your check is... disregarded like trash and treated like its a problem to help you. Would recommend using anyone else for Auto loans.

This is for anyone at corporate that has a say over the Desk Top web page URL. The desktop page that I use to run multiple businesses with is deplorable. Our speeds are over 2500 MBS all sites including other financial institutions load fast. Capital one is way to slow. We understand and appreciate security and love TFA. But the site for capital one banking is all but unusable as far a time goes. As part of security we use virtual cards for the online purchase. Trying to gain access to the site to generate specific named accounts needs to be fast. In fact when it is this slow we tend to to use the actual credit card number to save the 10 to 15 minutes to gain access to the desktop site. So your system is actually making the credit cards service less secure. So in short "remove the friction" your system is causing your clients.

This is the most frustrating company to deal with! You can waste hours on the phone trying to speak with a real person, then sit on hold several times and still not get help with your account issues. They are only interested in getting your money. Zero customer service!

I have an existing auto loan through them. I pay early. They like to send my money back which messes up my credit.I would not use them plus the interest rates are still retardedly high. I don't understand. Why it keeps happening?And it is increasingly frustrating to keep dealing with this

Contacted them to get a lien release for a paid off vehicle. One rep claims it will take 3-5 business days not counting the day you call. Another rep says 7-10 days. Said they refuse to email a copy of the lien release and you are not allowed to speak with the "back office" and there's no email address or phone number for the "back office" that handles lien releases. Claimed to have mailed the lien release...I asked if they would please email a copy of the one they mailed. They refused. Ridiculous that in today's day and age that they keep such extremely poor records that they can't send a lien release quicker than 3-5 or 7-10 days and they also don't email? Super scary to know that their record keeping is so poor, how do they manage the rest of your information? Or if their electronic systems are so old that it takes them that long, they clearly aren't protecting your personal information or keeping up with cyber security safeguards in general.
