Capital View Motor Inn Motel

A well placed motel just off the main street. The room itself was good, and the bathroom modern, but the mattress and windows let in down. Mattress was very soft and not very comfortable, but the main issue was the windows that struggled against the wind. It was really blowing and we had a corner room, with the wind banging the closed windows all night from both sides. We only stayed a night so it was acceptable and perhaps it was just a specifically windy night? The owner was lovely on reception and even opened early for us the following morning to allow us to use the lift to the bottom level with our luggage as we were leaving early. There were paid for washing machines/dryers if needed. Parking was secure around the back which was a bonus. For the price is was reasonable, but unfortunately a poor nights sleep.

We stayed here for three nights. We chose this hotel because it was centrally located, but not right in the CBD, and also because it had onsite parking. It's an older building, but the rooms have generally been modernised. Bed was a bit soft, but still comfortable enough. Best of all was the view over the city and harbour - we were on the fourth floor. Walking distance to the restaurants on Cuba Street, and there's also a supermarket nearby.

Stayed one night and was really impressed. The location's ideal — just a short walk to Cuba Street. Free secured parking was a huge bonus. Staff were outstanding — super accommodating and even sorted me out with a charger when I forgot mine. The room was more modern than I expected, very clean, with a great bathroom and a wall heater which was perfect for the chilly night. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent place to stay and great price and location. The room was more modern than we expected. Newish carpet. The double beds were so comfortable which was a huge bonus for 2x people with sore bodies. The kitchen was great and bathroom really nice. Location was great with plenty of eateries within walking distance. No noise from the streets. The flood lights were too bright at night, they shone through around the curtains. This would have been our only issue. The staff were friendly. Accommodation was clean. Having the added carpark with the booking was one of the selling points for us. We are so glad that we decided to stay here. If we're ever lucky to be able to attend WOW again, this will definitely be our choice of accommodation.

I had stayed before and it was great, but this time they had booked in a teenage swim team in town for national competition and given boys and girls separate rooms on the same floor as me. With no adult supervision! Chaos! The adults were reportedly floors above in the penthouse.|Male manager didn't seem to appreciate that he had responsibilities to both the minors and other guests to ensure that minors were not left unsupervised, particularly teenage boys and girls accomodated in adjacent rooms.|He did, however, offer a refund, but his wife had to process it. She came out laughing and called me a d1ick and refused to process the refund.|I left and am seeking a resolution through my credit card provider.|A truely aweful experience, not because of the teenagers, they were just behaving as you would expect in the circumstances, but because of the hotel managers' inability to manage the situation.

Great location, with car parking included. Very accommodating staff let us park after check out in the car park until we had to leave to catch ferry at 11 am. This allowed us to explore on foot. The room was warm, comfortable and quiet with nice views.

Fantastic wee motel! Nestled just at the end of Cuba Street it is quick walking distance to a ton of eateries & shops. It's also close to the motorway, but has no traffic noise. Great views over Wellington. Clean & modern and with free parking. The owners are so friendly & accommodating. Highly recommend & would definitely stay again.

Clean and tidy accommodation for a reasonable price in the centre of Wellington. Friendly staff and adorable wee pups on check in. Clear advice as to open hours etc. Happy to stay again!
