We did book a nonrefundable room, let me say that right up front.||Before I trip, I became unable to travel for medical reasons. I contacted Capitol Boutique Hotel and asked for a refund (knowing they would prefer to take my money and I was unlikely to get any back) but hoping they would extend a credit for this or another hotel. ||The hotel refused a refund or credit saying "we are practically full for these dates, and by canceling with such short notice, we have no room for sales." Of course, this makes no sense since they were clearly able to resell the room and get twice the revenue (we checked and they were sold out on the dates we had cancelled).||If it had just been the nonrefundable amount, I would have understood, but double-selling the room and refusing a refund is unethical.
