Admittedly, we stopped in at an "off-time" on a Saturday afternoon. Although we arrived toward the end of brunch time, our servers seemed deliberately, almost conspicuously, to avoid us until it was too late to order. Once we were told brunch was no longer available, we trustingly made other choices. However, after another attempt to order, one of our servers returned again to tell us that only pizza was available.
Staff is young and appear powerless to make customer service decisions without approval from management. Although the staff is friendly, they are ill prepared professionally. Well-trained staff will win the day every time.
My drink was fine, but wouldn't bring me back just for it . My husband ordered a black and tan -- twice. Overall attempts were Beige, at best. Frankly, that was the color of the total experience at the Capitol: Beige. Of course, I could have been suffering from hunger delirium 😜
3-29: Thank you for taking the time to respond to validate your points. In the time in took you to craft your response, you could have trained and empowered your staff to deal with ornery old folks like us. The 3 (!) Black and Tans (or, Half and Half were we actually in Eire) delivered were not layered. Hubs held each to the light -- we were outside. None met the challenge. But, thank you for the clarification.
I am sincerely sorry your staff felt abused. That is never my intent. However, in business, one confronts the challenge to make it right with every customer. Our server tried, for sure. With training and practice, she will prevail.
Thank you, too, for pointing out your menu rider. I was, indeed, unaware of that. Had our server taken our order, this point would be moot.
I am pleased to know you have a large, loyal, and well-satisfied clientele. Our city needs small business to work. Thank you for working hard to keep Dallas moving forward. Best to you.
