OMG... We were walking around Modica and decided to have lunch before heading to Ortigia. How lucky we are to stop for a lunch here. Service outstanding, food delicious! Highly recommend! P. S we sat outside, which is quite noisy, so try inside the restaurant, they have a covered courtyard as well.

"Meglio di si," (chef's response from across the terrace when they put the bread down and I said "Meglio di no"). So then I noted "non siamo invecchiando, siamo solo ingrassando." The home made bread was indeed worth the calories, especially with the excellent olive oil. Delicious zucchini in phyllo with saffron emulsion, assorted wines to see what you want (I chose the Frappato rosato); Very good linguine with bottarga, almond, orange, and amberjack tartare; Spaghetti with pureed field greens, ginger, seafood and topped with raw red shrimp. Very well done all around, but sitting outside you are inches from a very busy noisy street and that is not very pleasant. Sitting inside looks like it would instead be a beautiful setting. Wonderfully friendly staff.

Lovely atmosphere and nice presentation of food! We had their assorted appetizers, pork, veal, pasta, fried fish. Highly recommend the assorted appetizers! Enjoyed fried fish and pork, but veal was chewy and pasta was little fishy to me. Creme brûlée and coffee were very delicious.

I've been there with my partner and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The food, service, and ambiance were perfect. We had the Mare Nostrum starter and enjoyed every bite. I then continued my meal with the Riassunto di Sicilia pasta, which was delicious.

In addition to absolutely top-notch service, you’ll find amazingly delicious, reasonably priced, inventive Italian dishes. Every dish I had was phenomenal. I dined alone and don’t speak Italian, and the staff were extremely accommodating. I ordered a “glass of dry white wine,” which always means delicious wine in Sicily, and she brought two bottles for me to taste. I started with homemade bread made of local Sicilian grain and local olive oil. Then, they brought me a complimentary amuse-bouche of some kind of cracker with a seasoned chickpea purée. For an appetizer, I got croutons with cucuzza squash and a parmesan-saffron sauce. I opted for the house-made fresh spaghetti with seafood cacio e pepe-style, perhaps the lightest cacio e pepe I’ve ever had, including ones I’ve made at home. I skipped the meat and fish courses and went straight to dessert: chocolate cassata (a ricotta/chocolate dessert typical of this region; kind of hard to explain; Google it). Don’t miss this fantastic restaurant!

From the moment we walked in it was perfect. Service and food 5 stars. Gnocchi, pasta e ragú, home made bread and fresh fist press oil. Topped with a local wine and the dessert with chocolate to make honor of the town.

Great Sicilian cuisine in Modica! 11. Kids menu for my son. Our ravioli was small portion, but delicious. And amazing tiramisu. Not sure why restos charge a table fee. Copera? it’s a bit much. Four euros per person to take a seat, napkins, cutlery as they call it. Most places in Rome don’t charge it so the Romans get it!

Yelp
Wonderful bruschetta. Crunchy toasted bread with light drizzle of olive oil. Tomatoes diced or maybe cubed. And that wonderful pecorino cheese. I want to make this appear at home but I know it won't be as good.

Yelp
It is rare when a dining experience inspires me to cook differently and when it does, it is never lunch. Cappero Bistrot did just that, however, and we loved our lunch here. My husband and I went to Modica to see the Cathedral and other points of interest. The city is very well known for its chocolatiers but it should now be known for this gem of a restaurant. We popped in ravenously hungry and left very satisfied. When I explained my allergies to the server, the owner/chef came out to speak with me. He understood and asked if there were things on the menu that interested me, assured me that it would be no problem to accommodate my allergies. The meal started with an amuse bouche of a chickpea puree with crisped up broccoli on top. The puree was wonderful (and he modified this for me; the original had eggplant, I believe (something I can't eat). We then had an artichoke appetizer that was served over a cheese sauce made from a local cheese. The sauce was silky, smooth and very tasty. The artichoke was well charred. A wonderful combination. I had soup with pasta. The base of the soup had chickpeas and was velvety and well seasoned. My husband had ravioli that he enjoyed very much. Service was unbelievable and the setting is modern with lots of personal touches to warm it up, like the plates with the name of the restaurant on them. There was a very well stocked bar that I would have enjoyed had I not been driving. This is a destination restaurant in Sicily.
