The Most Exciting Hotel Openings of 2023

"This was Capri’s first-ever hotel, opened for the first time just over 200 years ago in 1822. Now, the all-white building on the most-famous Italian island has been taken over by the Oetker Collection (Le Bristol in Paris, Eden Rock in St Barths, Jumby Bay in the Caribbean) and the Reuben Brothers (the shiny new Mondrian Shoreditch, The Palazzo Experimental in Venice). Careful renovations have reduced the number of rooms from 80 to 50 to create more space–a major selling point on this always-thrumming isle–and all come with a balcony. Capri’s infamous Piazzetta is just around the corner, while those who take on the short distance to the coast can bag a day bed at La Palma Beach Club, the hotel’s chilled-out hangout."

Lovely staff, food, happy hour, service and atmosphere! I enjoyed it so much I went back the next day. The pizza and pasta was unreal and the spritz happy hour was the cherry on top. Would highly recommend and hope to return!

Google
Rating a 5 as the food was phenomenal and the portion size was also huge. We had a bottle of wine, an entree and each a main course for 125 euros. I had the truffle linguini and my friend had the salmon. An excellent restaurant. service could have been friendlier waiters seemed annoyed but that happens often in Paris 😂

Google
Very nice place food is definitely top tier. A little con is that at night 23:00+ waiters don't give you much attention, so be ready for coming up right to them and asking for table, and the same goes for paying. When it's cold you can ask for nice warm blankets. Price is reasonable for such location and quality. And a huge con is the time they close, so if you got hungry or ready in need of a drink you're welcomed here. (-1 star for that waiters situation but it's not that bad)

Literally the worst meal I've had in Europe. I'm a private yacht chef, and have traveled over 100 countries and will eat anything and not complain unless.... After this last visit to Paris, I'm starting to think the French purposely make American tourists dishes disgusting so we don't come back. Instead have having a backbone and cooking good food, they prefer to be bitter and ignorant. It's not possible that a real chef, or even a cook could ("kill") over cook every plate as if he feel asleep for 3 hours while cooking our meal and left the burner on high. Chicken so tough that you couldn't bite into it and two dishes off veal that could have been mistaken for leather! Chef... you should be disgusted with yourself and find a new profession... or not fall asleep while cooking meals. Cocktails where good and carpaccio trio as it should be. Thank God my nephew surprise visited my mother and I, otherwise I would have brought all of our dishes back to the kitchen myself. Thanks for the worst meal I've ever had in Europe. Paris... you need to remember to educate your youth, you're slipping big time.

Google
It’s good, small place, staff is as friendly as you’d expect on a place likewise in the city. Downside man restroom our of order, decent toilet facilities overall Food is outstanding though

Google
Ordered pasta with smoked salmon and pork chop. The pork chop was good, but way too much food. The smoked salmon pasta was incredible and if I was local I'd come back and keep ordering this dish over and over.

We’re staying at the Stendhal Hotel around the corner and chose this restaurant based on the reviews and the late night hours. We walked in about midnight and received outstanding service and very good food. The pizza, pasta, and appetizer were all excellent. We highly recommend.

We stumbled upon Capri when turning the corner from our airbnb, and glad we did! Capri became our go-to wine down spot during our stay. It was always packed, but we always managed to get the spot we wanted. The tapas-style bites were tasty, the wine selection is good, and the ambiance was fun and lively. There were a lot of smokers, which is common in Paris, but worth noting if this is bothersome for you. The menu is Italian, as was the case with the adjacent restaurants. This one had the best vibe with the warm incandescent lighting, decor, and fun people watching. Great little spot.

Yelp
Really good pizza and one of the few places around with a kitchen open late Service is very very slow though and not the most friendly. Def caters me to the late night revellers looking more for free fluttering drinks and the occasional bite. Gotta say though the decor is 100000% 1985.

Yelp
We dined at Capri St Honore for lunch during our recent trip to Paris. Be prepared for a crowded seating space inside and outside. Also the service began slow as it took a bit to get our order in with that said our order arrived quickly. Our server was friendly and the food was good. We enjoyed the SALTIMBOCCA ALLA ROMANAl, MARGHERITA Pizza and child's pizza. The pizza had a great crust as it was soft and chewy. It truly was the perfect consistency. The Restaraunt was busy but filled with all locals. Definitely not a tourist trap even though it's within walking distance from popular tourist destinations. Don't let the location or crowded seating steer you away.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Good service. Great vibe. Every seat was sat on the patio so it had a great vibe.

Yelp
Lunch after Louvre's visit. They got us a nice table outside, we had Margherita pizza and white wine, very good both. The service was quick! Almuerzo luego de la visita al Louvre. Nos dieron una mesita afuera, comimos pizza margarita y vino blanco, ambos muy buenos. El servicio fue rápido!

Yelp
Pizza in Paris? Yes, we did it! And the pizza was very good. Our first sight was the large outdoor seating area. Not just this cafe, but another few bordering it. Around 6 pm on a Thursday and every table outside is filled with young 20 to 30 year olds. Nicely dressed, mostly with just a drink and no food plates. Talking, joking, and smoking like you wouldn't believe! There were actual clouds of cigarette smoke outside. You know you're not in the USA, where smoking is forbidden everywhere. We spent a few hours enjoying our food and drinks, people watching and enjoying the atmosphere.

Stumbled on this place and had amazing pizza, pasta, salads, and wine. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Have been here a couple times just for drinks but they serve little pizzettes and olives for apero time. Great spot for people watching in a very ritzy part of town.

Yelp
Service was friendly and fast. Food was good, I had a Chicken Caesar de luxe and my partner had the gnocchi. Really solid meals. The Caesar dressing was sweeter than I'm used to. But the meat and veggies were great. The gnocchi were cooked perfectly and the sauce was simple (tomato and basil) and really delightful. Came in a copper sauté for serving. Bread at the table, plus a decent selection of wine, beer and cocktails. I can't complain about anything. Patio dining with an automatic cover (protected us in a last minute sprinkle) was really fun. I like being on the street and taking in the scene. It's a solid choice for a relatively inexpensive (45 euro for two meals and two drinks) and fast option near the Louvre.

Yelp
We took the kids here. The tables were pretty small for the amount of food and jostling we had to do with little hands grabbing for items on the table. They did not have a high chair so it was "child in lap" for us. Manageable. The food was very good. We had two pizzas, one was a small for one child. The waiter was kind and patient, switching between French and English. I would say this would have been a fine date spot but with kids, it changes the experience. The patio was jam packed full of happy hour opportunists who were enjoying each the second hand smoke.

Yelp
We stumbled across this restaurant on our way to another that had more reviews but almost no one there. This place was jammed packed, we had pizza snd pasta, both were amazing and service was great. I would highly recommend.

Yelp
Wow a first review of the place ... Well I'm a US citizen visiting and I have to say really good service for Paris but that's not all the food was good too. Just a great place to eat and people watch. Give it a chance ... If it's too busy lots of other places next to each other to choose from.

Yelp
My rating is the average of 2 visits. We were on a vacation in Paris 2 weeks ago and stumbled upon this restaurant. The food and service that night were fantastic. On or last night in Paris we decided to return because we enjoyed it so much the first time. We asked for a table inside and the waiter seated us at a table squeezed behind the open door. There were many open table so I asked if we could have a different one and he said NO. After a minute we got up to leave and said we didn't like the table. He then moved us to a table that was right by the station where all the servers used the computer for their orders. Keep in mind, most of the tables were still open. We were so stunned we didn't leave and spent the entire meal with servers leaning over us and crowding us. It was a totally unpleasant experience. We should have gone with our initial gut feeling and left. Our impression was we had a waiter who didn't like Americans and wasn't afraid to show it.

Yelp
What a wonderful little gem in the middle of the fashion district. The service was incredibly friendly and fast. We got our food within ten minutes of ordering and it was fabulous. We ordered the veal Milanese which was a very generous portion and cooked perfectly. We also had the Penne Arrabiata which was also very delicious and cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed the Bellinis as well, they were much larger than we expected, in a good way. Definitely coming back here on our next visit to Paris. Merci bcp, Capri for the great experience!

Yelp
Pizza is okay. Edible but not great. Also if you order delivery ask them to cut the pizza

Yelp
Cool atmosphere quiet and kind of romantic inside. However, both our meals were observed beautifully but the taste was just OK. The food looks beautiful on our plates as well as all of our fellow customers. But we had to put a lot of seasoning on our foods and ask for extra sauce to make the food taste like we expected it. Maybe were just ugly Americans or maybe the food was just a little bland. However the location is very nice and it's a nice quiet atmosphere.

Yelp
Had a nice lunch on our first day in Paris after a bike tour that ended nearby. Quick service, good portions and decent prices.

Yelp
Beware of what you order. I ordered Preseco what they brought looked like Preseco but tasted awful. It was their Champagne. We had to argue with management since we consumed part of it without complaining. Next time we will definitely send it back. We had the margarita pizza which is not made with tomatoes even though the menu says it is and Caesar salad which was good.

Allergic L.

Yelp
*Unsafe food practices. Allergy sufferers please stay away* I recently had the misfortune of visiting Capri while on vacation on Paris. After ordering a fusilli dish (and laboriously explaining to the waiter about my life-threatening nut allergies), I was promptly served with a dish that I thought was my meal. To my great surprise, the waiter came by 10 minutes after I started eating the meal, whisked away the dish and pronounced he "had brought me the wrong dish" - namely the one that I had been eating potentially included the items I was allergic to. To make matters worse, the restaurant then insisted on charging me for my meal and assumed no responsibility for what happened. One of the worst (and scariest!) dining experiences I have ever had.

Yelp
Visited Capri for dinner after a long day in Paris. We were starving and the place looked good. Unfortunately the meal was inedible. The risotto was bland and over cooked. The white pizza was cold and also flavorless. It was a true disappointment with all the great meals we have had in this city.
