Capricorn Caves

We did the cathedral tour (45mins) and it was absolutely stunning doing it. Candice did the tour and ha some really interesting information for us and the whole tour she was funny and did an absolutely great job! You can feel the passion she‘s doing this! There was an older lady (round about 70) and two little kids with us (round about 10) and we all could manage the tour very well.

We cannot recommend Capricorn Caves highly enough, it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. We were lucky enough to have Jai as our guide for both tours, and he is truly worth his weight in gold. His passion, knowledge and genuine love for what he does shines through and makes the experience even more special. We started with the Cathedral Tour, which was absolutely magical. The beauty of the caves combined with Jai’s storytelling made it a must-do experience, I highly recommended for all ages. The next day, some of us returned for the Adventure Tour, and wow, if you love a bit of an adrenaline rush, this is for you! Challenging, exciting and incredibly rewarding, it was an experience we’ll be talking about for a long time. We also chose to stay overnight at the park and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and well-maintained the cabin was. It had everything we needed, and waking up surrounded by rainforest was simply fantastic. Capricorn Caves offers adventure, beauty and comfort all in one place. We’ll definitely be back!

Pete was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and accommodating throughout the entire journey. His passion for the caves and ability to share fascinating insights made the tours both educational and enjoyable. The caves themselves are stunning, and Pete’s guidance ensured we didn’t miss any of the highlights. From the breathtaking formations to the rich history, every moment was well worth it. Recently visited The Caves and did a Cathedral Tour with James. We had 4 young children with us, it was a highlight for us all. Very worthwhile & excellent value for money. The hospitality at the cafe was excellent also. James was very knowledgeable & kept everyone intrigued & engaged. Highly recommend. P.S. James deserves a raise!

I thoroughly was impressed with the caves and the information shared. Great for a really hot day. I would love to attend some of the events held inside the cathedral. It would be a very special and memorable occasion. The summer solstice beam of light was impressive. So peaceful to just wait to hear the bats...just like running water. See you again soon.

The cave is absolutely beautiful, and the 45-minute tour provides an unforgettable experience. Claire, who shares the history in a pleasant, fun, and friendly way, makes it even more special. The Explorer Tour at Capricorn Caves was an absolute highlight of my trip. The guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about the unique geology and history of the area. You get a great mix of adventure and education—walking through ancient limestone formations, learning how the caves were discovered, and hearing stories about the early explorers who mapped them out. The Cathedral Cave was especially memorable, with its incredible acoustics and beautiful natural architecture. The tour felt well‑paced, safe, and suitable for most fitness levels, while still giving you that sense of discovery that makes the experience special. The site is well‑maintained, the staff are friendly, and the whole experience feels thoughtfully run. If you’re anywhere near Rockhampton, this is a must‑do. A perfect blend of nature, history, and adventure.

At $27 it is well worth it. Guided tours of all the different chambers of the capricorn caves. Sitting in the cathedral chamber (where you can actually get married) and listening to the beautiful music as the candles are lit and lights then completely blacked out was amazing( almost a spiritual experience). Guides are extremely knowledgable and make it even more enjoyable. Takes an hour
