Google
Our lunch was delicious and hot. The staff was very friendly and polite. Thank you 😊

Google
We had lots of down and dirty with a large party for a graduation meal! The food took a while, but we were a big party, and our drinks were kept full. The down and dirty mozzarella sticks and the queso were highlights of the meal. The down and dirty chicken tenders were good but the breading was a bit much for me. I did have a side salad which was a nice size portion and a fresh addition to a mostly fried food selection. It’s a fav of our recent college grads and some place we’ll look forward to visiting in the future.

Google
Absolute staple of Lubbock– you must try them! Anything on the menu is delicious, but some of my favs are the green chile cheese chicken fried steak, their queso, and their burgers. They have wonderful staff and the best atmosphere.

Google
We visited on a Sunday morning about 11 am - I had a craving for chicken fried steak. Not busy so the music was a little loud, but by the time we left, we hardly noticed it because it was getting pretty busy. Started with chips and salsa/queso - just can't go wrong with that. Chicken fried steak was fork tender, didn't need the knife to cut through it. Waitress was very personable and efficient! Bonus points for refilling my water glass frequently! Great place for burgers and beer.

The food was great. I had the Philly cheese quesadilla, and the wife had grilled chicken. Lindie, our waitress, was super sweet and checked on us numerous times. We sat out in what I would call an Atrium-ish. There are trees in there, and it's a really cool and comfortable atmosphere. I fully recommend you check this place out for yourself. I will be back to try more menu items. P.s. I really liked that flag it was right behind our table.

Google
There are a lot of restaurants in Lubbock that could be good, but are not. Mainly because the girls waiting on you act like you owe them something. That's not Caprock Cafe. The girls in this place look you in the eye when they're talking to you. They know how to smile at the man while taking his order. They work their butts off to make sure your eating experience is stellar! And the food's pretty good too. Thank God somebody's got it right. I won't eat anywhere else!

Google
The twisted tators are delicious. So are the nachos. The burgers are also good. Don’t recommend the steak sandwich. They do get busy at lunch time. The atmosphere was nice but our server was very inattentive. Never got a refill until I asked for a Togo drink.

Google
Third worst restaurant experience I’ve had. If I could, I would rate it a negative five. The nachos were the worst I’ve ever had and that’s saying something. Stale chips, the cheese was the prepackaged shredded kind and wasn’t fully melted, giving it a gritty taste, the chicken was flavorless and felt nothing like chicken, the ground beef was too salty and because of how dim the atmosphere was I couldn’t read that the nachos came with jalapeños unless you ask to leave them out. Two family members got the down and dirty chicken strips and relayed they were severely overcooked, lacked flavor and were almost impossible to eat, having a “leather-like consistency”. There was a shrimp in the appetizer sampler, and we were lucky no one was allergic as it blended in with the fried jalapeños and was a nasty surprise. The bathroom smelled horrible and was not the tidiest, and despite there being plenty of tables inside, we were seated outside. Despite our server being wonderful, I will never be eating at a Cap Rock Cafe again and will recommend my friends and family avoid them as well. (We went at about 7pm on a Wednesday, I can’t imagine how bad it gets on a weekend.)

Yelp
Came here with the wife and kids, they had burgers and loved them. Fries were darn good. got the green chile chicken fried steak with macaroni and cheese and twisted tators. Macaroni and cheese was awesome reminded me of Lubys. Twisted tators were amazing . Green chili sauce and cheese on chicken fried steak were amazing. The actual chicken fried steak was eatable but reminded me of the ones in elementary school. I was expecting it to be homemade cube steak... if it was it would have been in my top 10 chicken fried steaks. Will definitely be back. Waitress was amazing. Girls shared a burger and she had it cut and extra plate without asking. Very attentive and checked in with us at all the right times!

DeAnne M.

Yelp
Service is friendly, but food was mediocre. The patties are perfectly uniform in size and grill marks. Not homemade.

Chris K.

Yelp
The food was amazing. Portions were worth the cost. And it was served faster than I expected. Customer service was great. There was a long line to order and it took longer than I thought it might but it was worth the wait.

Yelp
Great food, service is always wonderful, wish the music wasn't so loud but hey I'm an old guy.

Yelp
Very good food in a nice setting. Easily reached from downtown Lubbock. The manager of 30 years is very nice. Would return if ever in luh-buck again.

Yelp
Service is very quick! We sat in the outdoor area partially opened because it was such a nice day. Had the rib eye ends sandwich with cheese and mushrooms. Very good. Also had a Bloody Mary. It's a little loud because of where we sat but you have to expect that for a sports bar. Joined the loyalty program so I'll definitely have to return.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots to eat in Lubbock is Orlando's. When I found out Caprock Cafe is a sister restaurant, my son and I had to come check it out. Orlando's specializes in Italian with a twist while Caprock does American/Tex Mex with a southwest twist. I'm usually in town on weekdays and it's always packed here. At this point we expect a wait at alot of the local favorites. Customer service was ok. There's a lot of college kids working and doing their best, but service can be slow. We started off with the Pecos Queso. It's cheese, green chilies and spicy beef. How can you go wrong with that? When I'm in this part of Texas or the Southwest, I'm always on the lookout for anything green chile. I happen to love chicken fried steak and they have it smothered in green chile sauce and cheese. Unconventional but delicious. Sides were kind weak, but my main focus was on the meat. My son loved his Down and Dirty chicken strip wrap as well. This is local comfort food and I'm all for it. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
We're from Victoria Texas and we were driving through (on 2-19-25) to make our way ultimately to Las Vegas. Stopped over in Lubbock to visit some friends. Went here and this was the best choice that we could've made! Got greeted and seated very quickly . Beers were nice and cold. Can't remember exactly what burger I ordered but it had cheese, bacon and jalapeños. All good. My wife had the chicken fried steak I believe. Everything that we had was on point. Our server Lindy was out of this world AMAZING! If we're ever up again in that area I most definitely want to stop by here again! Thanks y'all!!!

Yelp
Great food always and the service ranks some of the best in town. The place fills up fast. One thing that is unique from most places is on the outside chance they make a mistake they will immediately fix it The problem with that is that they apologize too much
google avatar

Kim N.

Yelp
Service was great! Your usual American-fare done simply but well. Ambience is loud, like a good sports bar/restaurant. Fast service despite being busy.

Winston K.

Yelp
Great place to eat and visit with friends and family. 34th Street I prefer, older quieter crowd.

Yelp
Amazing food for great prices and the portions were huge! This place was open late which made it even better. Overall friendly environment with delicious food. 10/10

Rachel A.

Yelp
The food was decent l, but I found a hair in my salad. It was almost like it wasn't a big deal... they didn't even offer to comp anything, not even the salad. And the service was so slow for no one being there.

Yelp
The food is amazing. The service is always friendly and fast! Love the restaurant's vibes. Good for families and a night out!

Yelp
Very fun, delicious food! The server we had was very good and very nice. Bryleigh took care of my family. A genuinely nice girl who did her job extremely well. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Yelp
A few days ago I was in Lubbock (from Austin) for the weekend and I wanted to find a place for dinner with strong cowboy comfort food vibes - and I found it! Caprock Cafe delivered - and I didn't expect anything less. Lubbock is Buddy Holly's hometown after all! I found Caprock Cafe on Google and I'm glad I did because it was exactly what my friends and I needed at the end of a busy, chilly Sunday evening. First, the menu is pretty extensive, so there's bound to be something for everyone in your party. We started with delicious, crunchy mozzarella sticks, then we ordered the chicken quesadilla, the chicken enchilada, a dinner salad, and the homemade brownie sundae to top it all off! I want to take a sec to call out the delicious frijoles charros that came with the quesadilla. Usually I never eat the beans (especially refried) served as restaurants because they taste like they've been sitting there all day, but not these frijoles charros! Ugh, they were so good - I was frankly surprised. Had to ask the server to bring me a container for the bit I didn't get to finish. The brownie was bomb, I just wish they had used Blue Bell ice cream or HEB 1905 Vanilla - LOL just Austin things. All in all, this was a total vibe. Loved the country music, decor, staff friendliness, THE FOOD! If and when I'm in Lubbock, I'll definitely be back to Caprock Cafe!

Yelp
We love both locations!! The 34th Street one seems a little less clean, but the atmosphere is better. Great burgers, green chile chicken fried steak, and the green chile stew is to die for!!!

Yelp
I moved to Lubbock about a month ago and every place I've tried, so far, has been amazing so my hopes were high for this place. The servers were nice but the food was lacking, in every sense of the word. I ordered the crispy chicken salad... the lettuce was brown and wilted; it looked like a bag of mixed greens from United(red cabbage, romaine, iceberg mix) and the chicken was frozen strips you put into an air fryer or oven to warm up. My drink was also missing but I didn't have time to wait for it or even mention it. I will skip this place next time. If you are a day drinker, however, this is probably the place for you...

Collin K.

Yelp
The food was every bit of mediocre. The chicken fried chicken was about what I'd expect from a frozen store bought meal. The mashed potatoes were the same as well. Tasted like instant potatoes from the store. The cheeseburger was on a pale tasteless bun that outsized the patty by a lot. Service was good no complaints, fast and efficient.

Chris S.

Yelp
Steak bits sandwich with portabella and Swiss was a good change up from the usual. Was able to get seated right away outside so we could enjoy the great fall weather.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC AND WORTH THE TRIP! But why 1 star then? Well, to get their attention and to make a moral stand. Folks, as Texans, we demand very little but this: FREE CHIPS AND SALSA. We deserve it... nay... it's our God given right. "But," you say, "we have no right to demand free stuff! It costs them money." To that I say, "we can have a compromise. If you charge me for chips and salsa- though nearly all self-respecting Texas establishments don't- then it should be unlimited refills." $5 for chips and salsa should cover MORE than one round. But when I'm charged ANOTHER $5... it's like you don't even know what it means to be a Texan. So hear me, owners of Caprock Cafe. I will gladly revise this to 5 star because I think the quality of food and friendliness of the staff and the fun atmosphere warrant it (my goodness that Chicken Fried Steak was phenomenal). I can't, however, as a Texan, properly endorse an establishment that seeks to greedily profit off of the official snack of The Great State of Texas. It's the principle of the thing, you see? Charge a tad more for meals or make the drunks pay more for their drinks, but, for the love of all that makes this land God's pasture, please give us the Chips and Salsa. It's a kindness, and we are The Friendship State.

Yelp
First off, the service was incredible. Our waitress was Cher, and she was an absolute delight! She was in charge of our party of around 20 people and she juggled all of us while maintaining such a positive and happy attitude. As for the food, it tasted average. It had the right amount of flavors and it's classic American food so no complaints. The marg tasted a bit weaker than I would've liked when looking at the price of it. Other than the slightly high prices, Caprock is a solid place to dine.
google avatar

Carly D.

Yelp
For starters I wouldn't waste my money here again. Our waitress was a little awkward and not being very helpful with what to order. the food took forever to come out and when it did we were already full to the brim on chips and queso which was decent (i'll give them that) the entree tasted like cafeteria food and was a terrible trip to the bathroom. it was also extremely loud and hot. i could feel the speakers in my chest and looked around and saw a guy wiping his face with his napkin from the all the sweat that was dripping down. i was very dissatisfied because i've heard the 82nd location is great. never again though.

Monica M.

Yelp
The food is consistent. However the vibe wasn't. Sunday we arrived to watch the Cowboys pre season game."out of area". Music low, lights were bright.

Michele C.

Yelp
Well We had to go back to this place such a fun atmosphere but next time we won't go back so late Seemed like they wanted to go home

Michael W.

Yelp
The service tonight was good actually. We normally come in on Mondays but we're out of town so today was our night. The manager on duty seems to keep those girls in line and is usually helpful. The food was decent today. I would say hold off so much on the butter on ALL foods. Too much! We will continue our routine Monday of next week. Thanks!

Yelp
Service was friendly and fast! Food was delicious! My son and I both had chicken quesadillas, my husband had a burger, and whatever else everyone got was awesome! Ambiance is comfy and cozy! Lots of tv's to watch sports. Great prices. A great place to go with anyone, especially if you take your college kid and friends for a free meal from mom and dad! So much fun.
google avatar

Rob S.

Yelp
I'm thinking people must come here for the drinks and food is an afterthought. Sat in the "outside area", got eaten by mosquitoes. Chips and queso not good at all. Chips tasted like burned bacon. Ordered 2 burgers, not good at all. I have no idea why people like this place. It is loud and the food is gross.
google avatar

Amber G.

Yelp
We came here for a business lunch. It was 4 people in our party, we sat at one of the tall tables. Our server, was actually very rude and just seemed annoyed having to help us. She seemed to have the same attitude with her other tables as well. The food was great, took a while to come out but everything was as we ordered. The manager at that time checked on us once, and she was the sweetest. There is only one bathroom, so if you need to go just be prepared for a line.

Yelp
The Good: It's not my 1st time here my father introduced me to this restaurant & their best dish in my opinion is their Green Chile Enchiladas...I introduced this restaurant to my friend while we were in town & he loved it..he said I don't usually like chicken enchiladas but omg these are bomb...we both also ordered margaritas I did traditional & he had a fruit flavored one that he loved also... The Ok: Now salsa, queso & chips ok...tasted like jar salsa nor queso didn't jump off page... The Bad: waitress while nice clueless, before we sat down she was pushing queso & chips, my friend asked for the jalapeño salsa & chips...she looked at him as if he had one eye..he repeated two more times...she says oh you want chips & salsa do you want queso too??? Wow...then she tops it off when we ask her to split the bill she's looking at the bill like she was lost my friend said is there an issue she said I'm trying to figure it out he said just put 1/2 on her card & 1/2 on mine..the baby was so lost...my friend frustrated said just put all on my card & he was hot...food was good but wtf was his final comment!!!

Yelp
What happened to this place? It used to be amazing. We were in LBK today and stopped at the location on 82nd and Slide. Ordered Texas classics...a burger and a chicken fry...the meat was from frozen pre-molded patties. The chicken fry was just a warmed up from frozen factory made breaded patty. It was a MAJOR disappointment. We were looking forward to some made from scratch Texas food. On the plus side though, our waitress was great and the iced tea was good. They really need to go back to making their burgers and chicken fry from scratch though. We won't be going back.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
Go for the cold, cold, cold beer and great appetizers!! The queso and jalapeno poppers were amazing!! I could have made dinner on appetizers! We also got two burgers, bacon/blue and the mushroom swiss. The burgers were ok, it out of this world but good. I preferred the mushroom swiss out of the two. If you go, definitely get COLD beer and appetizers!!!

Victoria F.

Yelp
Service was great, but the food and prices weren't up to par. The amount of friend pickles you get for $10 is equal to the amount of a medium sized pickled cut up and fried.. wasn't too thrilled about that. The atmosphere is great, awesome waitstaff and cool decor.. we weren't greeted upon arrival and had to seat ourselves which was another downer. Pretty great place for a margarita though.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
The queso here is phenomenal. Ambiance could use some work tho. I get sports bars are supposed to be lively but this spot was outrageously loud.
google avatar

Cindy R.

Yelp
Fantastic bacon burger. Spend the dollar for that sourdough jalapeño bun upgrade. It takes it to that next level.
google avatar

Amanda J.

Yelp
This place was very eh unfortunately. Our waitress was super sweet and she always came back and made sure we were taken care of. Some of the best service I've had. We got some Chips and Queso, Fried Pickle Spears, and I got a hot chicken sandwich of some sort (can't remember the name). They were very eh. The chips and queso were lackluster, the fried pickle spears tasted as if they came frozen from Walmart, and the sandwich was just a sandwich. It didn't have much flavor and I had to drown it in ranch. I guess I could say it is what I expected, but I just wish there was more to this meal than what I got. Great for if you like to eat while you watch a football game, but even for bar food, it was very uninspired. I always give places a second chance, so I'd definitely like to come back and maybe try something else. Everyone raves about this place, and I'd like to see why.
google avatar

Meg S.

Yelp
Don't waste your time here. Food is slow and not good enough to wait for. They got my order wrong. The couple of times we've been, they never have the Texas toothpicks or fried cheese. They also haven't had the headlined "Patron" margarita. They make their waitresses wear booty shorts. It was recommended to us by a friend and we went thinking it would be good. It wasn't and since then others have told us about the same thing I that I wrote here. The waitress asked my husband and I (clearly older people) if we were "together." The couple of times management came by, they were rude and condescending. Don't waste your time here.
google avatar

Brian D.

Yelp
Our favorite place to go to when we visit. Food and service is outstanding. Queso, chicken fried steak and the Philly wrap is what we have had. This place never disappoints.

J B.

Yelp
Visited while on a work trip. Solid food. Big selection. Good atmosphere. Good prices. Cold draft beer. What's not to like?
google avatar

Natalie J.

Yelp
I really love our visit there today. Spicy, but in a good way! Everything was super flavorful. Will definitely be back again!
google avatar

Allison H.

Yelp
Good old country bar, lots of Texas cooking as well as Mexican food. Great hamburgers and perfect size schooners of cold ice beer. Great place to hang out with friends.

Angel A.

Yelp
Absolutely disappointing and disgusting. All of the food tasted like it came out of a freezer bag and was not fresh. The drinks were okay but not very strong at all. The desert also takes like it was old. Service was okay, but I got the vibe that they were a bit racist. The place wasn't very clean either. Don't recommend at all.

Jill T.

Yelp
Very friendly and fast service! My husband and I have eaten there several times.. burgers and fries are great! Nacho's were made with shredded cheese instead of queso so it made them very hard to eat..but tasted good. Fun atmosphere and place that anyone would love to hangout!
google avatar

Cambrea D.

Yelp
Me and my husband came here when passing through Lubbock. The Buffalo burger was really tasty and the sweet potato fries were pretty satisfying as well! The atmosphere felt very much like a hole in the wall, small town bar.

Jay W.

Yelp
Good variety! Great chicken! ....... ......................................
google avatar

Allysa B.

Yelp
The schooners are ice cold and perfect after a long day. The food is mid; nothing exceptional but nothing to complain about. Just beware the wait staff it's probably best to just sit at the bar.
google avatar

Joe D.

Yelp
I usually like this place but more and more often their food comes out like crap. It sucks bc they probs just understaffed like everyone else rn. Nonetheless, I present their green chile 'stew'

Tracy M.

Yelp
Loved this place! Chips and queso were great, and the servings were huge! We took lots of food home with us. Loved the wrap!
google avatar

Ivan B.

Yelp
The food and the service was amazing! The food was fresh and came out fast. The green chili and the red enchiladas were outstanding and the bacon cheese burger was delicious. I highly recommend the old fashioned if you like bourbon.
