This was a lovely hotel, very central and close to the main tourist areas. It is also close to one of the main bus stations (about 10 mins walk) and some buses stop right outside the hotel. ||The bed was firm (which is my preference) and there were enough pillows. There was a large choice for breakfast and everything I tried was well prepared and tasty. The roof terrance has awesome views, and the pool while small is very relaxing after walking around all day. ||The rooftop bar served drinks and food, and again all the options I tried were good. I had the mushrooms and country potatoes one night, and the Cretan Pasta another. Staff were helpful, and not pushy, only coming over when we obviously wanted service. ||Really enjoyed my stay here and will book here again if I come back.

Location is fantastic, bus stops right outside or opposite the hotel for the airport and Knossos, tickets can be bought at the little shop by the stop or from automatic machines across the road. The centre is just around the corner for shopping and restaurants, you’re literally fantastically placed for everything.|Sunrise from the front facing rooms are beautiful, so worth paying the supplement.|Rooftop area is fantastic giving a more relaxed dimension to the hotel, much larger than I thought. The pool is a bonus, small but perfect for cooling off and quite a benefit as most city centre hotels don’t offer a pool.|Breakfast is excellent. A large airy room looking out over the square with plenty of seating. Everything offered from Greek to international, fresh fruit buffet and cooked breakfast.|Hotel is very clean and the room service done daily. |The staff are friendly and helpful and welcoming.|If we come back, we will definitely rebook here.

Not overly impressed. Room size was generous. Bathroom below average, shower screen didn’t fully close, basin was extremely wobbly and no room for cosmetic bags etc.|Room not cleaned although out most of the day and then no fresh towels were offered.|Breakfast 10/10, location 10/10. Staff 5/10, one particular staff was rude and not helpful were others were great.

Capsis Astoria is a great hotel centrally located in Heraklion. The rooms are comfortable and we liked our balcony. The rooftop pool is amazing with a full service bar and plenty of different types of seating and views of the city and sea in the distance. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is across the road from the hop on hop off bus, airport bus, museum and many restaurants and bars down the alleys.

To Avoid, Dont be fooled with nice picture of rooms in google. Room are so bad, street is so noisy, we had a deluxe room, wooden floor was not flat and moist from previous water probelm, in the couloir workers on rooms are noisy, bad smell. to avoid at any cost, would not give more that USD 40.00 for this room.

I chose this hotel because of its convenience for the purpose of my trip. It is on a perfect location, next to the Archeological Museum, whether you want to explore the city or quickly hit the road out of it. It also offers a (payable) valet parking in a nearby garage so you don’t need to worry about your rental. As I reserved a single room for first few days and a double for the rest, the hotel staff went far and beyond - and I didn’t ask for it - to accommodate and to arrange for me not to change my room even though the hotel was full. The hotel is partially renovated, like the breakfast area which was really really nice and modern. Although my room|was not, it was nevertheless nice, with a balcony and all necessities, like mini fridge, safe and kettle. The bed was comfortable and there was a big closet with lots of hangers. The bathroom had a bath tub and there were necessary toiletries. There were some issues with the mini fridge but the hotel staff was excellent in solving the issue. Breakfast was really nice, plenty of options to choose from, hot and cold, local and international. The roof pool was on the smallish side but was nice to sit around and have few local beers and delicious salads. |We enjoyed it!

Nice and pretty modern rooms. Great breakfast buffet. Wifi not reliable. Some cheap parkings nearby. Busy area but not noisy. Many nice restaurant options nearby.

Overall, I was very pleased with my choice of hotel. My room overlooked the main square (which was undergoing renovation) and, being on a corner on a high floor, gave good views of both the city and the sea. The decor of my room was a little jaded and well-worn, but it was otherwise clean and comfortable; and it was very enjoyable to sit on the balcony watching and listening to the world below. Breakfast was very pleasant with plenty of choice, especially the local savoury and sweet options. I stayed for 6 nights and found the staff friendly and helpful throughout my time there. The hotel is very conveniently located being close to a number of sights and numerous eateries, all within easy walking distance. The bus stop for Knossos is almost outside the front door, for the airport a few metres away across the road, and there is a mini-mart next door.
