Captain Archie's

What a great place! Our shrimp, hush puppies and crab cake combo was so tasty. Great seasoned fries, perfect coleslaw and great cocktails made this such a delightful lunch. And the dessert- dear me! Haven’t had anything that perfect in a long time. Please try the cheesecake egg roll with caramel sauce. It was recommended to us when we arrived by another friendly guest. He was not wrong! This will be in our must return list!

Look after following our wives around half the day it was time for the guys to stop by one of our favorite watering holes for a few refreshments. Usually on the weekends this is a jumping place but mid week there’s not a huge crowd. But still there entertaining music and patrons galore. And by the way the food is delicious. Their fish baskets are amazing. But there are many options for the choosing. Weekends are special. Great bands on special occasions. Get there early to get a good seat. But since the remodeling they created a lot more seating and counters. Stop by sometime.

Food was delish, drinks were cold and refreshing. Bloody Mary was really good. My favirite was blackened Mahi sandwich. Views are spectacular.

Wonderful staff, amazing views, and delicious seafood. The cheesecake egg rolls with caramel sauce put it over the top. Sit outside by the intercostal and get a free bike and car show while you dine.

This is our go-to! Absolutely favorite place to hang out, watch some great music, get fantastic service, and enjoy really good eats and drinks. Great outdoor seating, some on the water and some on the deck. Not to mention the new addition with outdoor seating too! Great place to watch some games, and don't forget the Kentucky Derby! FUN! Our second trip here and it’s a happening place on the water. Super cool vibe. There is something for everyone. It seems like it’s an adult place but it’s very family friendly. Motorcycles and cars cruise slowly right through the establishment. We were there on a Sunday and they had live music. Good food and good service. You will have fun here.

Large Party bar on the intercostal. Great vibe of friendly folks, live music, motorcycles and so much seating. Entrance is to the left. Walk in go past the first bar and hit the second bar where all the action is. Find a seat anywhere you would like. No reservations just butts in seats and service will come your way. Drinks are strong and they encourage hanging out and not rushing your meal. So many outdoor dining seats and there’s a bunch of tables on the intercostal but the tables are the street from the restaurant. Our server mariah was fast and just a great server.

Great food and service. Fried pickles are some of the best I've ever had. Hot honey chicken sandwich was very good as well and nice and spicy. Went back two days later and had the same meal again.

Talk about off the beaten track! Without GPS, never would have found this place. Great atmosphere! It's a sit wherever so you may have to share a table and hope the waitress spots you. I ordered the combo platter with crab cake and flounder. The crab cake was overcooked for my liking but still good with the remoulade sauce. The flounder was fried with a nice golden brown coating and oh so tender on the inside. The hot hush puppies with the honey butter were soooo good. They had a great band playing some lively tunes and seemed this was a place that catered to the locals. Unfortunately no food pics as I left my iPhone in the truck and didn't want to loose my seat but suffice to say, this will be a place for future trips to Myrtle Beach.

Captain Archie's is a great place to hang out, have lunch, dinner, and drinks. One of the best locations on the ICW with tons of tables both inside and out. Live music is offered just about every night and many afternoons. The servers are very friendly and make you feel welcomed. They really hustle keeping your drinks flowing. The menu is what you'd expect at a waterfront beach bar with burgers, seafood bar type food, salads, and apps. They also have entrees and dinner offerings that go beyond the typical pub fare. The best part is that the food is really good, not just pulled from the freezer and nuked. Captain Archie's definitely checks all the boxes! It's hard to beat.

Super fun place!! Popped in for drinks and really enjoyed the atmosphere! This is a really large place with two bars inside. Lots of seating inside and out and it's located on the intercoastal waterway. It was staffed with super friendly people and very quick and nice service. Def will stop back again and def recommend for fun!

The quality of service has definitely gone down hill. The bartenders act as though they own the place and do not care how they treat you. They're lazy, rude and lack the ability to notice when a customer needs a drink. I've had them walk past my empty beer bottle at the edge of the bar (nearest to them) several times, without even looking. They are more interested in chatting with one or two customers at the bar or looking at their phones! I blame the managers for not noticing this and taking corrective measures. I have not been there in a couple of months, there are plenty of other bars to drink at that have better service and better looking bartenders with positive attitudes! But on the upside, they can always count on tourist for business, they're not there every day.

I was just at Capt. Archie's drinking beer at the bar. The bartender Melanie took my empty beer bottle and threw it in the garbage! Never said a word to me. She walked past me three times without asking me if I needed anything. The fourth time she said "do you need something?" I replied "yes, a Miller Lite." She responded "Why did you say it like that?" I said "because you took my empty bottle five minutes ago!" (Before I could add you walked past me 3 times without acknowledging me,) she said "I've worked 3 shifts 18 hours a day blah, blah, blah........" I don't give a fuck about what you did, for the last 2 or 3 days! You took my beer bottle, didn't get me another one after passing by me three times & then get an attitude with me!!!! There are plenty of places to drink, my money spends everywhere! I don't need and won't be treated like this! If the job is too much, find another one!!!!

Another local hangout with great music and good times. Big, open bar area with roll up doors everywhere. Service is friendly and fast. One of my favorite places to hang out.

It's a neat place, just Bar Food nothing great to speak of. It's a bit overpriced, could use a better draft selection. Burger patties are small and probably cook from frozen, chicken is flat grilled, and fries are very small and crunchy.

We've been here twice now. Once for lunch and once for dinner. The food is just pub grub. It's nothing fancy, but it's decent. There are two main problems with this place. The music is always RIDICULOUSLY loud. I love live music, but I also want to be able to talk to the person sitting across from me at my table. Also, they have open seating. There is no hostess to seat anyone. People literally fight over tables. And people will stand and hover right over you waiting for you to finish eating so they can grab your table. It's really unenjoyable to have strangers hovering to claim your table when you're trying to eat. They would be so much better off if they just had a hostess and sat people like a normal restaurant.

We arrived with 11 people in our group. 9 were seated at 2 tables. 2 went to the bar to eat as there was not enough room at the 2 tables. Food was good, service was great. The need to add more restrooms for the size of the place. They even had men standing on line to use the restroom. Also if your on line at the restroom there is full view of men using the restroom. That should be fixed.

I am ashamed I forgot to review this restaurant right after we tried it. My dad has been talking about Captain Archie's for quite a while now, he goes often with his bowling buddies, but we went with him for the first time in the middle of December. It's in a great location on the water and a large place, room for plenty of people and live music (they were setting up as we were finishing up our meal). I can see why it's a popular place for motorcyclists during bike week, as is for anyone who would like a nice place to eat on the water when the weather is nice out. If I am remembering correctly, my dad got a fish sandwich, my husband got a burger and I got the chicken, apple salad with raspberry vinaigrette. The food was really good. I especially loved that the chicken on my salad was an actual grilled piece of chicken and not just some sad little chicken strips that you would usually get at some places. It was very delicious and super filling. I know that when we are out to visit my dad again when the weather is warmer, we'll go back to sit by the water.

You gotta know what you're getting into before you go - this is a family restaurant merged with a biker bar. No one seats you so it's first come first serve. So go early or prepare to stalk tables. Now that's clear, this place has dynamite food and music. We were a bigger group so did not get in the main room, but was just beyond so could still hear the music. Our server was wonderful, fried seafood was so good and everyone was in a celebration mode since it was Friday after Christmas. Probably easier in the summer with outside open but I'm looking forward to going again! No pictures, the food was inhaled!

Three of us went for lunch today and the food was really good. Two of had the lunch special and one had a hamburger. We got our food fast.

Talk about the food! Amazing ! Coleen is the most congenial waitress and they are so lucky to have her! She told us the special on Tuesday was the fried chicken! My husband ordered that and he was not disappointed!. Fried zucchini to die for and the cabbage is at another level. I had the fried shrimp with mango sauce and the chips and cheese sauce, Coleen brought extra salsa! Ambiance a bit rough but they are updating the main area, so progress is always good! You must go here!

Great food, great service and great views. The live music was goods. Just note that it's a seat yourself. lol

We come for the fried pickles. It's a signature appetizer. We moved to NMB in 2021 and during that time we searched the Grand Strand for the best southern fried pickles, and hands down Captain Archie's won. Yes, sadly I write this review in past tense, someone messed with the pickle recipe, gasp. The batter was reminiscent of grandma's chicken fried batter, the pickles were fried to perfection and the batter had the right crispy perfection, color and texture. Now, the pickles look and taste like every other restaurant in town, just blah, the batter has zero flavor of its own, just tastes like oil it was fried in which isn't great. The pickles don't have the same crunch; I don't know if this is a result of the new batter mix, but the fried pickles just aren't the same. Bring back the original fried pickle recipe Captain Archie's, don't mess with perfection to save a buck or go gluten free. Try that on another appetizer. All that said, we love Captain Archie's for the outdoor ambience, people, and bikes. The staff are great. Please... bring back Captain Archie's Southern Fried Pickles. Someone needs to right a country song about this and sing it from CA stage. Thanks for listening to my suggestion, love you CA's.

Great vibe, the place is on the waterfront, live entertainment with plenty of drinks, to be fair I was told the food is pretty good here, but I didn't taste anything since I only stopped for drinks and entertainment, the service by the the bartender was friendly and helpful. Hope to return to try their food sometime on the near future

If you want booze in your drink better bring a flask. Had 3 rum runners and not even a buzz. $8 a piece! Noticed everyone was drinking shots and now know why. Place is cool, exactly what a place on the water should be except no booze in the drinks!

I would call this place an off-the-beaten-path gem. A lot of locals, a mix of young and older adults, and plenty of space to spread out if you want a more personal spot. I wish I had taken pictures. The menu and specials were great. Lots to choose from with pretty reasonable pricing considering the cuisine. I had the shrimp quesadilla. The shrimp were large and cooked very well. The ingredients tasted great and I was very happy. Our table shared an order of grilled fish bites. They were also cooked well and come with a great remoulade sauce. Our waitress seemed a little disappointed in her job. Moved without purpose and didn't have much personality. She wasn't rude or unprofessional. She just wasn't as good as a server usually is expected. Overall the food is worth a return and the ambiance is great. We will return to try the other selections on the menu. I'm looking forward to the next visit. I suggest you give this place a try, if you are in the area.

Archie's looks great. Their renovation is a great success lots more room and just overall more comfortable. The food is always been good. Ambience is what you get at a place like Archie's. I enjoy it.

Great local spot on the ICW. Good option for lunch or dinner. Live music completes the experience.

Great bar! It was packed last night. Lucked out and got two seats at the bar. Excellent band (Whiskey Run), good food, and reasonable prices. Lots of cool decked out bikes and trucks. Lots of interesting people! Had a great time.

Went there on 3/9/25 very crowded and the music was too loud service was good but couldn't stay to eat because of the noise very loud place

Awesome indoor outdoor bar. Plenty of fans, televisions seating, and a huge bar. Great menu great prices. Live music stage. Come early for that. It's a little crowded. Parking is awesome. Plenty of room. Definitely a fun hang out.

The server was very friendly. Went over and beyond, offering g water for our pets. The food was delicious, I had the grilled shrimp taco with coleslaw. We sat out next to the boat dock and watched the jet skiers and boats pass us by. It was a hot day but the breeze did help a lot. Overall the experience was great.

The owner personally came out to help my family park our van due to my sister being in a wheelchair. We couldn't find a parking spot and told us to park right out front. Amazing food and great live music. Can't wait to make the trip back!

Really fun place with great blackened fish tacos! Great band and perfect large patio space for listening to the band. Parking.., plan to walk but not so bad!

For the second time in a row they've decided to close early with no warning. What's the point of having hours of operation if they never follow it. Super disappointing that this place keeps going downhill every beach season

Always have a great time here. Live music pretty much every night. Typical N Myrtle crowd skews a little older. Food is good in a fun atmosphere. Melanie, Dana and Erin are always great.

This place has a fun atmosphere. There was a band but we sat in a room away from the main bar area where the band was. I had the shrimp Quesadilla and it was delicious. My friend had the burger. It was just ok and he described it as a good greasy bar burger. The other people in our party seemed to enjoy their food. Parking was a little tricky. We circled twice but did find a spot. Happy hour is very popular there. It was too chilly to sit outside but that would be great there. Service was friendly and fast

Whether it's a quick stop in for a yummy lunch or a night out for a couple drinks, my family & I love to come here! Great hang out spot with yummy food, beautiful views & nice staff. Their live music & events are ALWAYS a big hit too. In the summer we love sitting on the waterway side & watch the boats go by & wave at them lol.

Captain Archie's serves it up with a nice view. Try some surf and turf or a cheeseburger with a waterfront setting. Watch the boats go by as you enjoy a cold draft. Dogs are welcome outside and they are on FIDOS web site as a top Pet owner place to eat. If your biker this place will make you smile. Service was friendly and all issues we had resolved quickly. The servers were hopping in the hot sun and with the crowd that day did a good job.

The best seafood in Myrtle Beach! Great atmosphere, great service and the best food. Definitely worth the trip.

Meet an old friend while vacationing in Myrtle to see Leroy Harper and the All Stars perform. Very cool atmosphere, huge outdoor deck and bar. Didn't try the food. Fun space for dancing in front of the stage. Beautiful boat and dock surrounding. 5 stars for the ambience and fact we went for entertainment alone. Sorry I can't add to the food side of the reviews.

OMG had the Hawg Wings, awesome. Hush puppies. Fried shrimp. Sooo good! We got to listen to some awesome music! Will definitely be back!

Food was really good and drinks really cold. Great waterfront view. Music was good just really loud. We had a great time here though.

Terrible experience here. Everyone at the bar appeared to be drunk, but they were still being served. We waited 1 hour for our food. When I complained to the manager Mr. Riggs, he blew me off. Terrible food and terrible customer service. If I could rate this place zero stars I would. My advice, stay clear of this joint. And that's all it is, a joint.

Te'all was our server. Very attentive and gave good advice on the selections being look over by the wife. I enjoyed a nicely iced Porch Pirate, deep eddy vodka with unsweetened ice tea. Delicious... Wife went with an old fashion . Excellent

Great location, super cheap beer, live music. The food is pub food cranking out in large quantities, so just ok. But location, scenery, beer prices make it a good place to visit. Plenty of outdoor seating that is covered. Server was always around when you needed another beer.

The food was great, I hade the fish bites (blackened) and the steamed peel and eat shrimp. The atmosphere was fun, they had a band playing. The service was good and we appreciated the honesty of the waitress when asked about certain dishes.

staying at a nearby hotel, we couldn't figure out where the motorcycle noise was coming from. Now we know. typical sports bar/Myrtle Beach /fried seafood menu, but great for people watching with lots of tv's for March Madness.

Food was good, waitstaff was sassy and a lot of fun, music was awesome! Come when the weather is nice and all the doors are open and this place will have you coming back over and over! Happy hour menu takes a couple dollars off the price and the Captain's Island Shrimp and the Wasabi Ranch with the Southwestern Eggrolls was delicious. Mandy was great!

Their "bang bang" shrimp is bangin'. We go here often, sometimes to listen to the bands or just to grab a quick lunch or get a couple cold beers and watch the waterway. They've really upped their game over the last couple years too. Great vibes but just a heads up, it does get quite busy on the weekends. As Toby Keith said.. I loooove this bar!

We have been to Archie's 4 times now and if tonight's e per would not have happened I would have given Archie's a 5 star rating! Their food is good, the atmosphere is great and usually the service is great! But, tonight we waited for over 1 for our purser which never came! The waiter said there was an issue with the tickets going to the kitchen and we were not the only ones who's meal were late. After waiting 20 more minutes when being told the waiter talked to the manager, and still no food, seeing other people who came I. After us already being served and some leaving because they finished their meals. I went to our waiter to settle our bar bill and said we were leaving! No apologies, from management or no worries on your bar bill! We usually recommend Archie's over Boardwalk Billies, but now we will rethink this and don't know if we will be back.
