We had a blast here! Everything is so convenient. And we were particularly impressed when we had a plumbing issue one evening and the maintenance guy came within minutes and had it fixed right away!! We thought sure we were going to be without water to shower till morning!! But no!! Very cheerful and caring staff. Great diving!! Room and environment were all spotless!! Highly recommend!! It’s not a five star resort, but it’s quite well maintained and pleasant in every way!!

We brought two guides and six marine biology students and stayed in a three-bath villa—wonderful accommodations with plenty of room, a usable (though slightly cramped) kitchen, and an amazing backyard that opens right onto the ocean and reefs. It made an ideal home base for a week of diving and learning. Housekeeping was consistently excellent, and it always felt great returning “home” to a freshly reset space after long days in the water.||Breakfast at Rum Runners was delicious each day. Dinner, however, showed clear short-staffing issues—servers sometimes disappeared or didn’t follow up on orders. The food and the setting were great, but the service challenges were noticeable.||The dive shop staff were very helpful with the students’ rental gear, swaps, and shore dive recommendations. The boat dive crews were especially terrific—friendly, upbeat, and clearly experienced. The boats were spacious with great tank setups, quick refills between dives, and fun soundtracks that kept the atmosphere lively. Fellow divers added to the positive vibe.||Captain Don’s was also accommodating with a late check-out, which we really appreciated.||After visiting in the summer and now the fall, I’m already looking forward to returning again in late winter or early spring. A wonderful place overall, with a few service hiccups, but still very much worth coming back to.

We loved our dive vacation at Captain Don’s Habitat! The dive operation was well done and the house reef is fantastic! Dining at Rum Runners was tasty and a great view and lovely staff. We loved that there were two pools. Our Jr. Suite was spacious and we appreciated the mini fridge and microwave. We will certainly be back again!

Habitat Bonaire was Amazing! Beautiful property clean comfortable rooms and great staff. The restaurant is elegant yet affordable and beautifully set on the water. We stayed in the bungalows and really enjoyed the privacy after a long day of diving. We will absolutely be coming back and won’t look for anywhere else to stay. The Habitat is the spot on the island.

I think if this resort as the Goldilocks location, it is just right. Not too far, affordable, good diving, good food, reasonable service and feels safe. Added to that, the people here are very lovely, genuinely warm and welcoming. |It is our 5th trip here together, and we return again next year. |It really is the just right location.

The diving here is simply amazing. You won’t find better dive staff anywhere and hotel are so welcoming and friendly. The dive policy of “dive freedom” is why I have been here multiple times. HOWEVER, I witnessed the death of a legend when the Captain Don logo came down and a new logo was put up. It’s only my opinion but likely one that divers worldwide who have been here before will share, this is an incredibly disrespectful move from corporate. He was a legend. He is the reason that Bonaire has become known as one of the premier dive capitals in the world. To remove his name is just a sign of corporate arrogance.

Wonderful dive experience! We did 8 boat dives and three self-guided shore dives. It was so easy to pick up tanks and gear. Book a dive package in advance and save money on gear rental.
