Captain Don's Habitat

Captain Don's really is a diverse paradise. ||The services was absolutely amazing every step of our stay, from the front desk, to the Scuba Diving and the bar/restaurant. ||The hotel is centrally located in the island, which makes it a perfect launching spot for your diving adventures. And even if you don't dive, the place is just nice. ||The restaurant bar has an amazing view where you'll definitely want to enjoy some cold beers while the sun sets. ||The rooms are very comfortable, with big comfortable beds and a very nice balcony.|||There's also a supermarket near by if you want to save some money on meals, as the island definitely isn't cheap. ||We'll absolutely be back at Captain Don's in the near future for our next scuba vacation.

We had a great family dive trip to Bonaire. Captain Dons has done a remodel and there are old rooms and new rooms, we were not in a new room and it was OK. In a place like Bonaire you know to put your adventure hat on and not worry about things that are a little marginal. The Patio where the restaurant and bar overlook the ocean is great and the morning buffet breakfast there before heading to a dive is great. The dive locker room was not great but is part of the adventure and its hard to beat being able to walk off the pier into a dive boat or right into the water for a good dive 100 ft off the hotel. The pool area is good and since you walk through the bar between the dock/ gear storage and your room my wife grew to appreciate the after dive mojito. All in all we had a blast. If you are a good diver the individual dive opportunities are better than the boat dives, they do run too many people and dive as a group with a "leader" so the wildlife vanish.

We've been back three times and there is a reason. Even the far back rooms are comfortable and suited for divers. Modern rooms but nothing extravagant. Perfect diving setup with shore diving island wide and a great and easy dive operation and locker setup. Seperate docks for shore and boat. Nice on site restaurant and neighboring ones are good too. Perfect chill environment.

My wife and I just spent a week at Capt Don's. During the week, I was able to accomplish 10 boat dives and did some of the best diving I have ever done. The buffet breakfast was great. We missed out on the all-you-can-eat barbeque on Monday night, but we were able to enjoy the Thanksgiving buffet. They make diving very easy but I would caution divers on bringing a lock for the dive lockers. The latches are small so a standard pad lock that you might use at the gym my not fit.||Captain Don's runs three boats a day at 8:30, 11, and 2. Each trip is a single tank dive but the dive sites are generally within 15 minutes or less. Nitrox is available and the tanks are refilled on the boat during the surface interval.||We did run into one glitch. Our air conditioner failed, but the staff was able to move us to another ground floor room (my wife is challenged with climbing stairs) within minutes. You get housekeeping daily.||All in all, we enjoyed the stay and will probably go back there if we decide to travel to Bonaire again.

We had a great time at Don’s Habitat. The rooms are very tidy and comfortable. The resort has great pools and is located directly near the ocean. We also loved the Rum Runners restaurant and bar with the amazing view and delicious fresh food/catch of the day. Definitely want to come back here!!

Professional, courteous and fun to be a part of Captain Don’s. Beds were super comfortable, in the middle of it all. We lived the diving and the staff were very polite and helpful. The grounds were beautiful with plants and wildlife. The restaurant was delicious every time we visited! We will be back for sure!

"Diving Freedom" is a phrase that I have come to appreciate! My wife and I had a wonderful week here at Captain Don's! I can't wait to come back again! Beautiful weather, every day. Good food. A kind, courteous, and helpful staff. We had the freedom do dive where and when we wanted. I was able to dive in the configuration of my choosing (sidemount). All levels of diving are available.

Great location for boat and shore diving. The room was comfortable and the staff was welcoming. Aaron at the front desk was especially helpful and friendly. The dive masters and dock manager are the reason I will return to Captain Don’s to dive in 2025. Thanks everyone!
