This is the place to stop after the rare sunset on the north western facing beaches on the Cape.
Luckily I snuck away from sunset just before the sun went below the horizon and found this great spot. Pro-tip, if you don't like lines but like great fish and chips.. sneak out like I did. I got to the spot, I was second in line. I ordered, I looked behind me, 20 people deep (easy).
I saw lots of families here, and what sounded like regulars. Everyone was raving about their food, lobster rolls, scallops, flounder, oysters, and I think someone ordered a cheeseburger...As I waited I read some books they had out, nautical history, secret places to visit on Cape Cod.
My fish and chips, dropped to order, came out of the kitchen pretty quick. Served with tarter sauce, coleslaw and fires. The fish was fresh, hot and perfectly battered. The coleslaw was the perfect New England slaw, cabbage, carrots, mayo, vinegar.. So yummy!!
I devoured the plate! Like DEVOURED, I was happy I was eating alone and no one there was ever gonna see me again.
Be smarter then me, when you eat remember they sell ice cream. And it looks pretty darn good. I was gonna get some, but had to pass. They have the New England standard of "jimmies", you can dip the soft served and...... they have a butterscotch sundae I was dying to try. I'll have to save that for next time. And believe me, there will be a next time :)
I thought about this spot each and everyday for the rest of my trip.
Go. Go often. Eat good food, have great service, Be happy :)
((Ps-- parking in the antique mall after hours didn't impact me in any negative way. I can't say you'll have the same luck, but hey...))
