We go back several times a season and are always pleased with our meals. As a Rhode Islander now living on the Cape I appreciate a good clam cake. These are mighty fine.

Went to Captain Frosty’s for a quick lunch. Clearly a local favorite, great atmosphere and the service was good. I got the lobster roll, which was $25, and it tasted just ok for me. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again, but I enjoyed myself.

Consistent, delicious, and friendly atmosphere! A local favorite to grab your lunch, dinner, and/or dessert! Highly recommend their fish & chips! Quantity was plenty!

Casual family dining with seafood and burgers and Frosty treats. Indoor and outdoor seating is provided and there are clean restrooms. No adult beverages. You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. Prices are reasonable for Cape Cod... We had a lemonade and two fish and chips platters and it was less than $50 including tip. We both agreed that fish was delicious, moist and flaky. The fries and coleslaw were good. Overall we were very pleased with our experience in this clean and friendly family restaurant.

Came on the recommendation of a friend/local - Captain Frosty’s will now forever be a must visit for my family! Chowder is stellar, all the fried dishes are world class, and the service is fast & friendly!

I have been eating at Capt. Frostys for decades. The food is delicious. Service is always great. This season, we found portion sizes greatly diminished. I had a shrimp platter last week. Usually I can get two meals but this time, one meal. Today, my partner and I shared a Captain's Platter today and had 3 scallops, 4 clams, a few shrimp 5 or so ounces of cod and clam cakes. Fries were underneath so soaked in oil. Their slaw is the best. I recommend packaging the fries separately. 35.00 and change plus tip seemed excessive for the portion size. The food was delicious.

Captain Frosty's was delicious! We all had lobster rolls for lunch! We enjoyed our food. Glad we stopped here. The people were very friendly. The service was great! Very nice and clean place.

Stopped here on a busy Memorial Day weekend on a whim. This is my husband’s favorite place to get his birthday lobster roll, but his birthday isn’t until July, so he got the clam cakes & chowder combo, and I got the cod & chips - both came out quickly and was brought to us outside (nice outdoor sitting area with shade) and the food was piping hot, just the way I like it! His clam cakes were light & crispy, not greasy at all, and his chowder was full of clams and not too much potato. My fish was lightly battered, flaked easily and tasted fresh. Fries were not over salted and the cole slaw had just the right amount of mayo. Definitely one of our favorites places when indulging in fried foods!

Yelp
I've definitely had my fair share of fried seafood/fish and chips and this spot was such a pleasant surprise! I am still thinking back to when we first ordered their fish and chips this past weekend and I can't stop thinking about how FRESH everything tasted!! From the fish, to the fries, and even the freshness of the cole slaw! The fish was perfectly cooked where the fish layers "flake off" and the batter was layered where it is neither too doughy nor falls off entirely. I am normally not a cole slaw gal, but the veggies in the cole slaw were so freshly crunchy and the sauce was not overwhelmingly creamy or savory that it was a nice adjunct to the main entree. Almost forgot that the plate also comes with 2 fried clam cakes as well that were not overly done either. The restaurant was insanely busy when we arrived 30 minutes before closing. (they closed at 8pm, so early on a weekend seeing how it's so busy at closing time!) Just note there may be a little bit of a wait with food after ordering considering how busy it gets. Essentially you order at the counter then if you're dining in then they give you a number and just find the table you're seated at and bring the food to your What we ordered: -Fish and Chips (comes w/clam cakes) -Twist soft serve w/cherry dipped

Yelp
My favorite spot for all things fried seafood. Captain Frosty offers fresh seafood and decent portions in a laid back updated setting. It's a great family option for a leisurely dinner after the beach and offers easy takeout for those wanting to skip the crowds. I ordered the fish and strips plate which was loaded with golden fried deliciousness. The fish and clams tasted fresh and the batter was crispy and not too oily. The clam fritter had a nice doughy texture but a little on the salty side. The clam strip roll was absolutely loaded with clams. While on the pricey side, the portions and quality of the food are worth it. The restaurant had nice seating inside and shaded outdoor seating. It can be a bit tight if it is busy. At 5:30 pm the parking lot was already getting full and there weren't many open tables. Loved the vibe though. Easy to order takeout with toast. Plus you get text alerts when your food is ready. Not something you see with most old school places at the Cape. Great spot. Go give the Captain a try!

Ann E.

Yelp
Food is tasty! Service is amazing ! Ambiance was like going back in time. Old school summer fish shack

Yelp
I heard this is the place to go for fried seafood plates on the cape so of course I had to come here. I went with the fried clam belly plate, which came with fries, coleslaw, and 2 clam fritters. I think it was a little under $30, which I thought was a little steep at first but they advertise on their website it's all fresh local seafood so can't complain! For being fried, the clams were still very very flavorful and not too heavy. Easily the best fried seafood I've had. The fries were also good, nice and crispy and not too thick. I wasn't a huge fan of the clam cakes but that's not to say they were bad, just not my thing. There was plenty of seating inside at 2:30 on a Thursday but I imagine it gets busy on weekends during lunchtime. The employees were also very friendly. Would love to come back next time I'm on the cape and try the scallops and the cherry dipped ice cream, both of which looked delicious!

Dena B.

Yelp
Super casual, roadside stand, atmosphere. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. We went on a weeknight around 6:00 pm and there was a 30-minute wait for our food. The clam chowder and fish and chips were excellent and definitely worth the wait.

Linda D.

Yelp
As the implies they serve an awesome fish and chip! The fish is soooo flaky and fresh. It's self serve, you pleace your order in the counter and they give a buzzer. We sit outdoor under the awning of tall trees. Really relaxing. The soft serve ice cream is great!!

Ashley W.

Yelp
The clams were amazing! They were fresh and large and tasty. The onion rings were also top notch. However the lobster roll was disappointing and the fish and chips were very average (not bad just not flavorful). The outdoor atmosphere at the picnic tables was lovely. In the shoulder season, it was quick service and barely lines.

Christine D.

Yelp
Oh hi, me again. :) We scoped this place out again after remembering it from our previous two years of visiting. The lobster roll is the best and I can also say the salmon sandwich was equally as amazing.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
This place is adorable, the space is clean, well thought out, and comfortable. We were able to sit in the back patio which was lovely, plenty of shade. It's a no frills place, but the service was good! Really impressed given that almost everyone working there is young. The food is fresh and made to order and the price is fair. The seafood is definitely the star with minimum seasoning (I thought it could do with some salt and lemon but that's a personal preference). Great soft serve. This place is busy and for good reason, if you're in the area, it's worth a stop!

Aileen E.

Yelp
Just okay. Was pretty bummed after reading such great reviews. The restaurant is adorable, but the food is super basic and overpriced in my opinion. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever with the Monty chicken sandwich and there was limited lobster on the lobster roll for the price.

Kevin L.

Yelp
Great, cozy, historic seafood. Clam cakes are fantastic. Fried clams/ scallops are good. Frappes are decent.

Erik E.

Yelp
We come to the Cape for camping every year and we always look for new places to try the favorites. Well we just found our yearly stop. People were friendly and the food was outstanding!!!! In my top 3 for lobster rolls and the chowdah was amazing!!! It's the end of the year so we will see you next year!!!!

Andrew C.

Yelp
Had the fried clams with bellies. They were quite good. Clam chowder was good and not overly thickened.

Dawn S.

Yelp
Delicious meals at Captain Frosty's enjoyed a Lobster Roll with fries and clam fritters! Also enjoyed a cod fish platter with clam strips, fries and clam fritters. Very nice staff and accommodating. Enjoyed cups of water with my meal. Awesome place - look forward to it every year! Went back for twist cone soft serve with jimmies.

Erika D.

Yelp
Great food, reasonably priced, friendly staff. We like their soft serve too. Their lobster roll is definitely one of the best on Cape.

Emily L.

Yelp
A Cape vacation is never complete without some quality fare from the local seafood shack, and Captain Frosty's didn't disappoint. I was initially skeptical that I'd be able to find something gluten and dairy free, since most of these places are filled with very breaded seafood. But I was very happily surprised! The menu has a whole salad section with allergen-friendly options, with grilled meat or seafood add ons. I nearly got the grilled scallops with the house salad, but I couldn't ignore my lobster craving. Lobster salad (aka a bun-less lobster roll) isn't listed as an add on, but they fulfilled my request with a smile and zero fuss. Je ne regrette rien. The salad was super fresh with a citrusy vinaigrette, and the lobster salad was even fresher, with a generous portion of meat (not just the small claw bits) and a light coat of mayo. My gluten-loving eating companions were very happy with their lobster rolls, clam strips, and fries -- all still hot and crispy by the time we brought the takeout containers back to the vacation rental. Captain Frosty's is also super conveniently located near Mayflower Beach, so skip the beach snack shack and come here instead! I'm already dreaming of my next Cape getaway...

Andy N.

Yelp
My take... Hey let's go hang out with some uptight NYC and CT people and have bad service while we pay for decent slightly overpriced seefood.. Food OK, ice so so... Staff could be waaaassy better. No love to their tourist paying customersl crowd

Sara M.

Yelp
Always a favorite whether dining in or take-out. There's a great seafood selections as well as chicken tenders or Cheeseburger fresh off the grill. The food is always tasty . The amount of food is generous. The service is always met with a smile. The patio area for an Ice Creams is a must. We miss them during the winter months

Scott H.

Yelp
This place is a Cape Cod treasure. Really good value with delicious quality food at a good price. Had a $22 lobster roll that was excellent. Had a super tasty fish and chips and a Caesar salad. Love this place.

Jane M.

Yelp
I've been coming to Captain Frosty for years. And loving it. However, today I was surprisingly disappointed. The fish and chips were extremely bland and the FFs were sadly limp. The cashier was somewhat condescending and less than friendly. The waitresses however were extremely friendly and affable. They made up for the disappointing meal.

David B.

Yelp
Very good seasonal resturant on the cape. You're Not going to be disappointed .Can't wait till they open in April.

Mackenzie M.

Yelp
I absolutely love Captain Frosty's the service is fast and friendly. The food is very good, the seafood is amazing and the ice cream is very nice. It's super fun to sit outside on a nice day. This is a go to summer spot on Cape Cod.

Allison M.

Yelp
We went here three times during a week-long vacation. The soft serve is SO creamy and delicious, and the heath bar is the REAL kind and they don't skimp on it!! Also tried the fisherman's platter for lunch and it was excellent. Loved the clam cakes.

Sasi M.

Yelp
I've bought takeout from here before, but this was my first time dining in. The staff was super friendly and made accommodations with the menu. The food was tasty and fresh. The calamari strips were lightly breaded and perfectly cooked. The lobster rolls were a bit small, but tasted fresh. The platter options are a good size for one. I really appreciated that they didn't unnecessarily heap plate with fries that you could never finish. The outdoor seating ambiance was casual, neat and setup well for a nice hangout. Hoping to return here whenever we visit the Cape again.

AB H.

Yelp
Yum! After driving over to Sesuit Harbor Cafe and seeing the line that was going to be at least a half an hour, we found Captain Frosty's. My daughter had a delicious grilled cheese cooked on sourdough bread. It would've been even better if they had used a cheese other than American cheese. We got one lobster roll and one lobster roll without a bun :-) both were excellent. The fries are a little bit on the thicker side, which is not my favorite. They're outdoor patio seating out back is adorable - well landscaped, and a very pleasant place to sit. For the kind of food they serve, they do an excellent job.

M E.

Yelp
Rustic clam shack. Food was great and reasonably priced. Young woman taking orders was very pleasant. Delicious fresh brewed ice tea. Would definitely go back.

Nancy S.

Yelp
Delicious scallop plate topped off with amazing orange freeze, which featured their yummy vanilla soft serve. An absolute treat!! Lots of yummy fish plates with amazing ice cream concoctions for dessert

Beth G.

Yelp
This was a good roadside cape seafood joint. They have a lot of options and I've cream too! Wait times are not bad either.

Steve S.

Yelp
I'm not sure what happened but they used to be pretty reliable. Went recently and the chicken tenders and fish sandwich were terrible. They tasted as if the oil hadn't been changed in quite a while. Ice cream still good though if you're looking for soft serve.

Mike R.

Yelp
Great service. Fast and great fish sandwich. Excellent lobster roll and quick service.

Nancy V.

Yelp
This is a cute place that's got a long history and has a dedicated local following. The menu is extensive and includes frappes. You order from the board in front and your food is brought to the table. The service was excellent. Prices are quite good considering portion sizes. Unfortunately, I did not like how the fish tasted-it was nicely breaded and just out of the fryer when served but seemed to be completely unseasoned. Adding salt helped somewhat. The fries were similarly bland. The bright spot was the Cole slaw, which was creamy and delicious and I ate it all. I didn't ask for a box for my uneaten fish and French fries.

Terry R.

Yelp
Quick service, fair prices, good (large) portions, friendly staff, great fried seafood. And the soft serve ice cream is good too. I ordered the fried clam strips plate. Comes with fries but I upgraded to the onion rings. Huge pile of clams under the onion rings. Came with tartar sauce, a small coleslaw, and two of their version of hush puppies. It was all good, but I could not finish it all.

Laura B.

Yelp
Seafood always cooked to perfection. Staff friendly and the screened in dining area great for casual lunch or dinner. Live in Yarmouth but prefer to drive to Captain F because it's worth it.

Briana L.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to get seafood on the cape! I came across this place by accident and I've been returning here ever since! I love the fried seafood here, but I always get the Grilled Scallop Bowl every time I stop by. It's the perfect option if you didn't want to eat something that was deep fried. There's a ton of scallops and it's a lot more filling than just fried seafood because it comes with rice and salad. I definitely recommend coming here even if it was just to give it a try

Kathleen M.

Yelp
I always go for the ORANGE FREEZE. It's like a creamsicle frappe - so good! It's made with their vanilla soft serve & is so creamy and sweet. CF's also has great yoberry soft serve - its like a tart vanilla frozen yogurt. Get it with cherry dip & you're in for a treat!

Patrick R.

Yelp
First day in Cape Cod, and for a meal between lunch and dinner we decided to go to Captain Frosty's. Captain Frosty's is located at a crossroad with limited parking, seating inside and outside. We ordered the fried fish sandwich with cheese, fish and chips and the captain platter... fried fish, shrimp, mussels, scallops and fries. The fried fish was in our opinion too blend, we expected it to be more seasoned--but maybe that is the way it is done, it was after all our first time here in CC. The service is friendly, and fast... we sat outside and once the order was ready a waitress brought our order to us. We enjoyed our first meal at Captain's in Cape Cod.

Jane C.

Yelp
I was visiting the cape for the weekend, and a friend recommended this place to me. My friends and I got clam chowder, lobster roll, cod plate, onion rings, and salmon dinner. Everything was so good, the portions were generous, and the prices were fair. You order and pay at the counter, take a number, and find a seat. There's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors; we sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. The employees bring the food to you no matter where you're sitting, which is nice. And the food came out pretty quickly too. I'll definitely come here again if I'm ever in the area. I want to try their ice cream next time!! With a name like "Captain Frosty's" they gotta have good ice cream, right?

Rob C.

Yelp
Got shrimp, fish and chips, lobster roll, fried scallops. All really good, some of the best I've had on the cape. But the scallops were everything. Get the scallops.

Fallon C.

Yelp
Solid spot for super casual meal. We did the fried seafood combo and baked salmon and both were just fine.

Nina Z.

Yelp
Nice place! Really fresh lobster and fish! Saw lots of takeouts during the summer lunch hour-- really busy, but has ample sitting room both inside and out. Also has an ice team bar, which I didn't try, but looked pretty nice!

Jennie C.

Yelp
Dip, baby, dip, just dip, baby dip Just dip, fish and chips and clam chowder Let me see the lobstah roll I don't know what you've been told Come to captain frosty's, for the lobstah roll 69 boyz-tootsee roll Everything was amazing. Delicious lobster roll, delicious fish and chips. Friendly staff, charmingly decorated and legit eats. Def head outside to the little window to get your soft serve dessert. Absolutely love this place

Kristina M.

Yelp
This is the place to stop after the rare sunset on the north western facing beaches on the Cape. Luckily I snuck away from sunset just before the sun went below the horizon and found this great spot. Pro-tip, if you don't like lines but like great fish and chips.. sneak out like I did. I got to the spot, I was second in line. I ordered, I looked behind me, 20 people deep (easy). I saw lots of families here, and what sounded like regulars. Everyone was raving about their food, lobster rolls, scallops, flounder, oysters, and I think someone ordered a cheeseburger...As I waited I read some books they had out, nautical history, secret places to visit on Cape Cod. My fish and chips, dropped to order, came out of the kitchen pretty quick. Served with tarter sauce, coleslaw and fires. The fish was fresh, hot and perfectly battered. The coleslaw was the perfect New England slaw, cabbage, carrots, mayo, vinegar.. So yummy!! I devoured the plate! Like DEVOURED, I was happy I was eating alone and no one there was ever gonna see me again. Be smarter then me, when you eat remember they sell ice cream. And it looks pretty darn good. I was gonna get some, but had to pass. They have the New England standard of "jimmies", you can dip the soft served and...... they have a butterscotch sundae I was dying to try. I'll have to save that for next time. And believe me, there will be a next time :) I thought about this spot each and everyday for the rest of my trip. Go. Go often. Eat good food, have great service, Be happy :) ((Ps-- parking in the antique mall after hours didn't impact me in any negative way. I can't say you'll have the same luck, but hey...))

Andy L.

Yelp
I think I would give it a 3.5 star if possible. Lobster roll was just ok as the meat tasted a bit dry. I think they are probably more known for their fish as the fish sandwich we had was pretty good and tasted fresh. The line to order was also a bit chaotic but I guess it's similar to other restaurants in cape cod.

Jamie K.

Yelp
Solid fried seafood and ice cream restaurant in Dennis off 6A. Had the flurry with m&ms and it was great, thick ice cream and lots of m&ms, huge portion. The onion rings were thin with lite batter, the new England way. Huge portion though, wish it wasn't so big of an order. Grilled cheese was normal, nothing too exciting. We had to order outside and seat ourselves. They do have outdoor and indoor seating. I am not sure if this is due to COVID-19 or short staffed or both. This place has been around for over 40 years. It is an institution.

Kevin D.

Yelp
Another one of my go-to places on the cape. The seafood here is very fresh and delicious. Informal atmosphere here, fairly good prices. Limited parking. Staff is friendly and helpful. The ordering process seemed a little confusing. The fish and chips is awesome. Highly recommended.

Rosario A.

Yelp
we visited this restaurant for lunch, the people were rude, unwelcoming. Not worth the trip. never again!

Art D.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast and plan on returning. Loved this place! The food was excellent, the service was on target and the pricing was the first place on the cape we had been that did not make me feel like we got beat up simply for enjoying a meal. Kudos to them for doing it right.

Claude B.

Yelp
Food was barely OK, everything tasted the same. portions were extremely small for the price. Staff was friendly.

Bea T.

Yelp
Liked my lobster roll. A very nice casual place to come to after going to the beach over at Mayflower Beach. Looks like a place was open in the 50s and remained historically. Nice folks who serve the food which came out pretty quickly. They did have fried clams too. Very family oriented and they also have an ice cream section that you have to order from outdoors.
