Captain Jaks

I did the Xunantunich and Blue Hole trip with them in May 2025. Do not confuse with the Great Blue Hole which is something else completely! I had a very competent and fun guide who was named Pablo himself of Mayan origin which made his explanation heart felt. Tours are a little pricey but this is Belize and not specifically this tour operator whose prices are similar to others. Pablo is a safe driver, keeps the van immaculately clean, offers plenty of water and brought us to a nice local restaurant between activities.

My wife and I went to Placencia for our honeymoon and used captain jaks for 2 excursions. First, we did the cacao farm/waterfall tour and it was amazing! Pablo, our guide, was very knowledgeable and could not have been nicer ! The farm was super interesting and they walk you through the chocolate making process from start to finish. The waterfall was incredible and was the definition of refreshing! Our 2nd trip, we went snorkeling with Nick and Doyle and it was incredible ! A completely different world around the corals and marine reserve! Had amazing local island lunch on a private island w dream scenery. Overall, captain jaks were professional , knowledgeable, and overall happy/kind people that made our experience everything we could have hoped for. Will definitely use them in the future !

My husband and I did the Monkey River tour through Captain Jaks. Our group included another couple and a large family with kids. Our tour guide Doyle did an exceptional job providing us with tons of information, answering all of our questions and making sure everyone was having a great time… not to mention he was an excellent boat driver. We had more fun than we anticipated and saw a lot of wildlife. Would recommend this tour to anyone.

Snorkeling in Belize with Captain Jack’s = core memory unlocked 🪸💙 I went in September of this year (2025) for my birthday! It was amazing! Tulu (our instructor) was lit. Gave me the sweetest Caribbean grandpa vibes. I might’ve been irritating him in the beginning cause i was struggling to get started 💀!! But, it was Tulu who made me feel so safe even though I’m a baby swimmer. He’s also really funny, which is why I felt so comfortable once we got started. And Captain Henry?? Fastest (and cutest) boat driver out there, ladies!! I don’t know if he’s single, though! Don’t come for me, LOL, I am just telling y’all. Anyways, the water was warm, salty as heck, and the views were unreal. 10/10 experience! Just be ready for sore shoulders and a good nap after lol.

Captain Jaks snorkeling tour to silk and Moho cayes was amazing. The Moho island exceeded all my expectations! The crew were amazing and accommodating and would circle around if we saw dolphins or a turtle. The chef was great and the chicken he grilled was out of this world! Sadly, they didn’t allow me to eat all the chicken on my own :/ but this excursion def turned around my mood about Belize after a rainy San Pedro week prior. If you’re going to do any tour, this one would be the one I would recommend! (It’s the only one I did but it was amazing)

We had a great experience with captain jak’s. It was our first time scuba diving and Nick was amazing. We saw so many cool animals! Dolphins, sea turtles, barracuda, reef sharks, nurse sharks! My wife and I both had different issues as new divers and he helped us through it! The food at lunch was amazing.

We went on a Monkey River Tour and Doyle was our guide. He was amazing and we saw howling monkeys, crocodiles, blue crab, and manatees. You stop at a village and have lunch so bring your credit card if you want to buy a gift there. Highly recommend this tour! Make sure you put on lots of bug spray beforehand and some people had mosquito proof clothing, which I thought was smart.

Our family had a day we will never forget. Eric was fantastic with all 4 of the kids (and their parents). He was patient with our inexpert fishing, managing the poles off the back of the boat with only one snarl in the lines. He was knowledgeable and so kind. We caught fish for dinner! He cleaned them for us. Everyone was thrilled. Captain Eyon got us there and back with zero seasickness and a smooth comfortable ride. I was nervous because all of us have struggled with motion sickness at different times. We all felt great the whole time. He helped us all learn to shuck and crack open the coconuts on the beach at Moho caye. He was fun and laid back. Lunch was yummy for all - even my vegetarian enjoyed it. Jullian was full of great information about the fish and the reef. He kept us all feeling safe and interested while snorkeling. He was so personable and fascinating to talk with. The whole crew had such perfect demeanors for entertaining our family for the day. The place was GORGEOUS. We absolutely loved it. They were wonderful.
