Captain Memo’s Pirate Cruise

Clearwater native here! I’ve been seeing this boat as long as I can remember and finally went with visiting family and it was AWESOME! As a local, we just look at all those boats at the Clearwater Marina like a tourist trap, BUT it was so much fun to be a tourist in your own town! The crew does such a good job entertaining the kids and the adults with games & dancing. Highly recommend the sunset cruise for the summer.

This is one of the best things to do in Clearwater! We tried it for the first time and we had a blast! The crew is phenomenal with the kids AND the adults! Unlimited beer and wine makes for a fun time. They kept us entertained the entire time. My family and I had such a great experience. There was a boat accident that happened with the Clearwater Ferry while we were on the pirate ship and the crew on the pirate ship were professional and helpful. I was extremely impressed. I will definitely start booking this each time I come to Clearwater!!!

I cannot say enough great things about Captain Memo’s cruise! Our family had a blast- memories for a lifetime! The deck-mates and pirates were amazing. They were always in character, keeping the kids entertained and the adults hydrated 😉 My 9 year old said he had the best time of his life. Highly recommend taking the cruise! And adults-let loose! It’s a ton of fun for all!

As a local, this was an AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!! there is something to do for everyone, the guys that run the show are HILARIOUS and the kids stay entertained. Well worth the money!!!! Highly recommend!!! The sunset cruise weather was PERFECT!

Oh my gosh we LOVED this as a family. From our two kids to my husband we had a blast. There was only one other family on the boat and we were a little nervous how the experience would go, but they did AMAZING. The staff was funny, friendly, and worked soooo well with the kids. I couldn’t recommended this enough, if we come back next year we will 10000000% do this again. Thank you to all staff on that boat because you guys were amazing!!

Highly recommend. This crew goes above and beyond, creating a fun atmosphere for the kids and the parents. My cheeks were soar from all the laughter and watching my son have a great time! Also... beautiful views and just enjoyed being on the water.

Captain Memo’s in Clearwater was a great experience for the whole family. The kids absolutely loved it — the crew did an awesome job keeping them entertained the entire time with games, face painting, and pirate fun. Meanwhile, adults got to relax with cold beers and cocktails while enjoying the boat ride and the views. It was the perfect mix of fun for the kids and a little adult time for us. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a unique, family-friendly outing in Clearwater!

This was a super cute experience in the marina area of Clearwater that lasts about 2 hours. Unlimited beer and wine is included with purchase, and you have the option to buy stronger drinks on board and even get a souvenir cup with cheap refills! I have done this experience one other time which had more adults, however this time around we had more families on board which was cool to see the different activities they had to keep them busy. It was very hot but the team on boss did a great job keeping us hydrated with water & the sea breeze definitely came in clutch. If you're going to get a frozen drink on board I recommend the mango daiquiri, as it was refreshing and not so strong where you'll be feeling it extra hard in the hot FL sun. This is an excursion that is great for friends or families, so make sure you check it out when you're at the beach!

The kids had a blast! Definitely a worthwhile experience, especially at sunset. The staff occupies the kids with water gun fights, games, dancing, pirate hats, gold coins, and more. While parents are free to enjoy the cruise with complimentary beverages.

This was a blast! We all had a lot of fun and was a beautiful ride. The crew were amazing and very attentive. They had my five year olds undivided attention with a pirate story, scavenger hunt, and water gun fight. While my husband, mother and I enjoyed our adult beverages and relaxed watching her run around the deck with squeals of laughter. It was hodge Dodge group from pirate dressed couples, families, and party people and they did a great job with everyone. Would totally recommend. :)

I was seriously skeptical about how hokey this would be but these guys have it all figured out. They have an open bar and a deck for adults only. Once you set sail, they get the kids' activities going and encourage you to enjoy yourselves and that we did. We had too much wine and beer and the kids had an absolutely blast. We even got to be part of the character dress up fun. Highly recommend.

We saw the ship in the bay when we arrived into Clearwater. My son freaked out seeing it and so we decided to check into it. We were happy to see that they had an opening on the upcoming sunset cruise and so we booked. We then went down to the entrance and waited for 35 minutes and were PUMPED that we were at the front of the line to board the ship. My son had picked out exactly where he wanted to sit. 3 minutes before boarding, a worker came out and announced they were ready to board but then called out my name and said our party needed to report back to the trailer where we booked. I walked down there and was told that they charged me too little and they were canceling the charge and needed my card to recharge me the correct amount ($40 more). So we were charged $40 more and we lost our place in line. When we finally were able to board, all of the seats were full and we had to find a place to stand. I was furious. As a business owner, if I charged someone too little and it was MY fault, I would have simply ate the mistake and moved on. Or at the very least, tell me LONG before 3 minutes prior to boarding. Once the ship took off, the workers did well with the kids. They played games with them and helped to focus on their experience. It did seem geared more to LITTLE kids than it did my son's age (12) but I didn't really expect much more. There were free drinks but we don't drink alcohol so it wasn't really for us in that aspect.

My son said this was better than a Disney cruise...nuff said! The pirates were so engaging and kept the kids entertained for the whole cruise. Parents got to chat with other adults while enjoying drinks and views. Must do in Clearwater area!

Such an amazing experience! We did the 5pm cruise with our 6 and 2 year old. It was perfect as it wasn't as hot and we got to see the beautiful sunset! The crew was incredible (especially Eric and Dusty I think their names were?). They were so interactive and went above and beyond to make my kids feel special and involved. Highly recommend!

My boys (7 & 9) had an absolute blast! They wanted to go again the second we got off the boat. My husband enjoyed the music choice and said that should also be a selling point! I loved the entertainment for kids and adults, the free beer and wine, and just the overall great time had by my whole family! I would recommend this pirate cruise to anyone and we will be coming back again!

Perfect ending to long weekend with kids and grandchildren (ages 3 and4) ! A definite do again! Crew was very attentive to All ages and entertaining!

WHAT A CANNON FUN!!! Y'ALL GOTTA GET ON THAT SHIP!!! Admission is pretty affordable like $44 but hey, they give you complimentary wine or beer for 2 hours! Thats hella worth of money! Prices is affordable for junior/child age. Staff is totally FRIENDLY. I would recommend y'all to call 'em to check if can rsvp on same day. It is good idea, really. Trust me. Their schedule: 10am, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm & last ride is 8pm (I think). Check their website. Introducing wrenches & buccaneers to families are really coolest. Ship is pretty cool & big enough for like 10 families. Staff makes sure kids get tons of fun like water gun fight, chair music, dance, and games so they can let their parents to chill/laugh, watch 'em, & drink beer or wine. Thats totally rad. Everything is so CLEAN. Yes, even restrooms are CLEAN. They keep everything so sparky clean. They do sell chips, candies, snacks & drinks. Umm, oh, they give free book about Cap Memo history. Thats cool. I took it & plan to read. 2 HOURS OF FUN TIME.

This was a great time! Beer and wine were included. Stafc was lively and great entertainment for kids and families. You go out to the gulf and back and forth in the causeway. For the money, it was well worth it for a 2 hour cruise.

An absolute must do for the kids (although, we adults had an amazing time too). The crew were fun, engaging, entertaining and overall awesome. They made sure everyone had a good time. This was the 3rd cruise tour i went on this week and it should have been the first and only one we went on. They had games and story time for the kids, faced painting, water gun fight, dancing and sight seeing. Best of all, you could tell that everyone loved their job and were vested in everyone having a great time. Snacks & beverages are included in the price and we saw 3 families of dolphins swimming next to our ship!! We did an actual dolphin cruise and saw no dolphins. This Pirate cruise knew where to look, I guess. I can't wait to visit again. Great job!! Our kids are 2,5 &6 BTW. They each had a blast!!

Worth the money!! This was the most fun we had as a family on our trip- the kids were below deck doing pirate games and hunting treasure, and we were up top sipping drinks and enjoying the scene- simple fun!

Captain Memo is a Fantastic choice for anyone's birthday party! Great crew and entertainment!

If you have children aged 5-12, this is an absolute must! Even if you don't, this was way more fun than we anticipated. Admission includes beer & wine for the grown up passengers. These folks do a fantastic job of staying in character, keeping the fun going, cracking jokes, dancing etc. There were games, snacks, face painting, water guns etc and more all during sunset. It was awesome, so glad we did this as part of our 10yr Old daughters bday celebration!

This one star is due to their customer service. We called to make reservations at 9:15 am as their website states, the person who answered said "well call back at 10 because that's when we open and we can take care of it then" in a snooty voice. We disregarded that and called back after 10 and made reservations. We had to drive 1.5 hours to get there from where we were staying. When we arrived we paid at about 15 minutes before we were supposed to depart and were told boarding would begin in about 5-10 minutes. Finally at 2:10 another customer told us that the departure time was changed to 3. No one made an attempt to inform us of that while we waited in the 90+ temps. When we went back to the desk to ask there was no apology nor reason given and no other accommodation offered. We had to cancel and drive the 1.5 hours back due to another commitment that night which was the last night of our vacation. I understand issues arise but the fact that they made no effort to inform us of the change was very unprofessional. As for the tour you'll have to read elsewhere since we had to cancel.

We did the sunset cruise and let me tell you this cruise NEVER disappoints. I have done this cruise many different times. Captain Memo's is just straight up fun! My families favorite thing to do when we visit CWB. The crew really keeps the kids entertained and engaged the whole cruise. I can't say enough about the crew...those guys/gals are awesome. Face painting, water gun fights, games, and dancing. It's a good time! Not to mention unlimited wine, beer, and soft drinks. Music playing the whole time you're on the water. Sunset views and dolphin views are also an added bonus. Don't sleep on this!

I don't know how anyone could go on this pirate cruise and not give it five stars. Our party consisted of myself, my husband, our 20 year old daughter, my 73 year old sister, my 70 year old sister, my niece, who is 36 and her two little children who were six and three. We had the best time. They entertain your kids for the whole to our cruise and they cruise around. We saw dolphins, jumping out of the water. The breeze felt fantastic. Everybody on board that worked. There were super super nice. The bar was amazing. We went on the 9 o'clock cruise and we had the best rum punch I've ever had in my life. It's like a babysitting job they do for you while you can get drunk or feel good about yourself for a while. Or you can drink soda or water they have freebies on board. You're allowed all the way up where the captain drives the boat and it's just really really cool. I would tell anyone to do this. The Pirates are amazingly funny and keep you entertained adults and children alike. We will definitely be doing this again the next time we visit Clearwater we had so much fun on the ship even if we didn't have kids with us but the kids had a blast and they got to dress up even us adults all got tattoos on our arms. It was just a fun time had by all I would highly highly recommend this!!!!

Absolutely fantastic! If you have young kids, this is a must. The staff was engaging and there were activities the whole time for the kids. My son left, exhausted and smiling. thumbs up for this salty crew!

A super fun and unique experience for families with kids. The staff is great at interacting with the kids and making it really exciting. My niece had a blast with the water toys, storytelling and dance party. Also nice for the adults to be out on the water & enjoy the scenery and a drink. Highly recommend for families with kids 4 and up. Younger kids might have fun taking in all the sights and sounds but probably wouldn't be able to fully participate.

The crew aboard Captain Memo was absolutely amazing. I went on it when I was younger and 25 years later I took my son. I honestly had more fun this time than I did as a child and my son had the best time ever. He now wants to be a pirate. Lol. Everyone on board was absolutely amazing with the kids and even "photobombed" pictures, which I actually thought was amazing. Great amazing experience. I would recommend anyone with children does it if you're down in the Clearwater area. The best time.

My kids had the best time on Captain Memo's Pirate Cruise. I really didn't know what to expect when we reserved the tickets, I just knew they'd love riding on a pirate ship. What they got was a whole pirate adventure with a water gun fight, cannon firing, story time, treasure hunting, and a dance party. The crew really sold it and were fantastic with the kids, and the adults too. I have already recommended it to others. We would certainly book again if we were in the area.

The Pirate Cruise isn't only fun for the kids! There is an adult deck with bar service so you never have to leave. My friends and I have so much fun on the sunset pirate cruise!

My husband and I took our 6 year old daughter on the sunset cruise and it beyond exceeded our expectations. Our daughter, who is usually shy, jumped right in to the kid's activities including water guns, a dance party, tattoos, and other games. The staff was wonderful and we enjoyed the beer and wine included in the ticket price.

Had a great day today taking my grandson sailing with Captain Memo. The staff was exceptional. All very friendly and got all of the kids involved in water gun fights, musical chairs and dancing. The unlimited wine, beer and soda were a plus. Great day on the high seas being a swashbuckler. Definitely recommend this attraction.

Such a great time if you have littles! The staff is fantastic and great at their job.. they have complimentary drinks for parents. It's definitely worth the price. It's a must do!

We have been on this sunset pirate cruise a couple of times and it has always exceeded our expectations! Often times when you pay for an open bar you find that you have a hard time refilling drinks as the businesses aren't motivated to serve you as much as possible. That is absolutely not the case on Captain Memo's! I swear pirates are popping out of the woodwork to make sure you always have a full drink! We came here for my sister's wedding weekend kick off and my boyfriend and I visited again for my birthday. Both occasions were celebrated by the staff on board which was a fun surprise! They take your picture before boarding and offer to sell it to you in a souvenir frame on board. When my boyfriend and I were last there we had maybe a bit too much champagne and decided to not purchase the picture thinking we had taken enough of our own. The next day we realized that was a mistake and called to see if they had saved the pictures for us to purchase. They located our photo and we came and picked it up later that day which was awesome! The owner told my boyfriend all about her family's operation and it is great to hear that they have plenty of frequently returning customers like us! You can tell that it is a well run operation that not only cares about making tourism money but actually cares about their customers! Highly recommend!

Super fun trip for kids and with free soda, beer, and wine for the adults and cocktails for a charge. The pirates (patty, Lauren, Allie, and Kyle especially) running it do an amazing job keeping the kids entertained with a range of activities and even a cool learning activity about pirates. The ride is the perfect amount of time before the kids get tired. Will continue to do this again and again when in Clearwater.

First time we went on this was a couple years ago and second visit today was just as good. The crew put on such a good interactive show including water pistol fight, games, dancing and musical chairs. We saw dolphins also. Adults enjoyed the ride and bar. I'm always impressed how fun the crew are and how much they engage the kids. Highly recommend

Best Independence Day celebration together ever. After boarding with a group pic and Once out on the water a minute, Jack Dnaielson took all the kids and gave out water guns for the water gun fight while adults were invited to adult beverages, then they go discuss the pirate treasure hunt while you're on round 2/3/4. As the sun sets in gorgeous colors you have a blast watching your kids have a blast as you toast the evening to the holiday. Then regather for an amazing gathering of boats and waters-edge ppl and beautiful lights like you've never experienced before. Catch outside fireworks as you wait for the big show. Then boom. Awesome city fireworks show. The captain even swayed the boat left to right so everyone could have a great view of the show .the bartenders and severs were awesome, the pirate crew was awesome. 12 stars all around. Great evening with or without kids.

Took the family including 2 young pirates ages 7 and 3 (grandsons) on the cruise on Sunday November 13th. Choosing this cruise over any other was the best decision. Everything was organized and well run. The pirates were kid friendly and entertaining. The boat was awesome, I loved it. I felt safe and the kids had a blast. I highly recommend this cruise for anyone that has pirates in their lives.

This is our second year and loved it just as much as the first! Crew is awesome, bring cash for tips, well deserved!

I was very very disappointed in this sunset cruise. They had at least twice as many people on this boat that should've been on there. There was literally no where to sit down. It was massively overcrowded. Please see the photo I took on the below deck. Will never do this again. They were clearly not following COVID-19 rules. Beware.

Captain Memo's is lit the characters on board did great entertaining the kids and adults. Easy check in, covid safe, and all around fun time. Definitely recommend for forced family fun shark attack zack was awesome!!!!!!! Thanks for the fun memories crew!!!

We embarked on the pirate ship For the sunset cruise at 7 pm and what a great time!! They have free wine, beer, and champagne and fun festive music! The top level of the ship is for 18 and over which is nice if you don't have young children. All the pirates on the boat were so fun and really made the 2 hour boat ride so enjoyable! A fun time was had by all!! We would love to go again!

Very attentive with wine/beer service. Nice cruise around the peninsula and ocean. Pretty calm water so no chance of getting sea sick. They take a photo when you board and will charge you $15 for it, or $30 if you want it in a frame.

We took the sunset cruise and had so much fun! We mostly stayed up top which had the vest views. The staff was so fun, so kind, and just really great! They were so good with all the kids on board and really kept them entertained. All in all just a really great time and well worth it.

Do it! Don't overlook this opportunity for serious fun, well organized, great for families AND adult singles are welcomed and entertained. Do not be shy. This was by far one of the BEST events we attended with our younger family members and the adults. The entire crew is talented, funny, aware of safety practices, focused on your comfort and well-organized activities and just a whole lot of fun! There was something happening all the time and if you just wanted to cruise and chat you go to the higher deck...adults only. All the soft drinks, beer and wine you could drink!! I happened to be in a wheelchair healing from a broken knee and they accommodated us like ROYALTY!! Thank you Crew! Highly recommended...evening 7:00pm cruise with the sunset. I applaud Pam, Tery and the entire crew.

If you are expecting a dolphin cruise this is not for you. We did not see any dolphins and no attempts were made to point out or try to see them. The workers did a great job entertaining the kids and my children (ages 8 and 4) did enjoy themselves. However, as an adult, we watched people throwing up in trash cans and had to move from our seats since she was right above us, adults were falling all over the place (and not because they couldn't find their sea legs), dancing way to inappropriately for a "kids dance party", and just being obnoxiously drunk. The unlimited free drinks are great, my husband and I enjoyed a drink, but the goal should not be to get drunk and have total strangers be responsible for your children. I wouldn't consider myself a prude, maybe others would disagree, but this is targeted to children and in my opinion you cannot mix unlimited drinks and children with SOME class of people. The positives of this cruise were the kids got to participate in a water gun fight, face painting, musical chairs, search for missing gold, finding "treasure", and certificates to be honorary pirates. You can also purchase your photo (without frame) for $10 which I felt was reasonable. I would recommend you wear a hat and make sure to wear sunscreen, shade is very limited. Also make sure not to wear your hair down, I made that mistake and instantly regretted it. I'll end with this, I completely understand that the way others act cannot necessarily be the responsibility of the workers, however they should reserve the right to cut people off after so many or give you vouchers for a limited number of drinks. This would help alleviate certain people from overindulging and ruining the experience for those around them.

Captain Memo's Pirate Cruise was an ok experience. There weren't many people probably due to COVID (which was good) and also it was Clearwater's slow season (bummer). Nothing much happened as far as an interactive experience. After reading the reviews I expected more. The beer and wine were plentiful. they came around often to refill the drinks. I didn't see any dolphins at least none was mentioned while on board. Games were played with the little ones so I'm sure they had a great time. At the end we danced to a few lively songs which was the highlight of the boat ride. The sunset was beautiful and the water nice and serene. It was a nice relaxing boat ride.

This was one of the most wholesome experiences we had while visiting Clearwater Beach. The two hour ride was filled with adventure, curiosity, laughter, and dancing. The kids had a blast and so did the adults. The crew was amazing at keeping the children engaged and entertained.

This is a fun pirate themed cruise based out of a marina in Clearwater. There are lots of cool charters available here but the Captain Memos cruise is one of the best looking ones available. It is pricey but my family had a great time. The staff was very friendly, helpful and were great with our children. They gathered all the children on the lower deck to give parents a little break to enjoy a beverage. My 5 YO happily went with them, they attempted to get my 2 YO to go with them but he wasn't having it. We ended up getting the picture they take when you first board. All thing considered, it was expensive but a good value for the money spent. My kids had a great time and were worn out after leaving. My only gripe is that the boat gets pretty hot in the areas that are shaded. It would be nice to put a minisplit AC unit to cool the shaded areas but arguably tough to do being in an ocean environment.

Even after reading the reviews, and having an idea of what to expect, I was SO impressed. The staff does a great job playing and interacting with the kids. They entertained them for two hours straight with one fun and creative activity after the next. The parents, or those without kids, were free to enjoy the smooth and scenic cruise and watch with amusement as the children played in the deck below. The crew not only was playful with the children, but also engaged with the adults - many of whom (including me) opted to get my face painted with a nice pirate mustache and goatee. The dance party at the end was a fun mix of newer and older favorites, and a lot of people participated. We did the sunset cruise, which offered beautiful views. I'm so glad we did it!

Been here numerous times. A must cruise for every visit! Unlimited free beer. Games for the kids. Music. And a pleasant boat ride!

What an awesome time! I read lots of reviews before finally deciding to take my 3 yr old. We had an absolutely blast! She had an amazing time, they play with the kids and keep them entertained the entire time. Seeing her have so much fun made it that much more enjoyable for me. The boat was safe and the entire staff was so friendly and kind. They kept the drinks coming (alcoholic and nonalcoholic). The bathrooms were clean as was the entire boat. My only recommendation would be to buy your tickets online ahead of time. Overall it was a fantastic evening and I know we will be doing this again! Worth every penny!
