Captain Morgan's Retreat

We are just coming to the end of our two week stay at Captain Morgan’s Retreat. We have been visiting and staying at this resort since 2003. While things are always change here, some things remain the same. The wonderful people who work here never fail to make you feel at home. For example, Jennifer at Rose Spa, located next to main pool and bar, has made my experience here all the better thanks to her restorative and relaxing spa treatments. Don’t miss out on the massage plus facial specials. My favorite treatment is the full body scrub. I left feeling relaxed and glowing. I feel so lucky to have her services right here at the resort. Joel at the bar makes you feel like an old friend. We have been scheduling our excursions through the office and have been so happy with the price and quality of all of our trips. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful resort. We just keep coming back for more.

Captain Morgan’s was the perfect getaway! The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Everyone we met was warm, helpful, and truly went above and beyond. Don’t miss the bar — the drinks are great and the atmosphere is super chill. And the stew chicken? Absolutely delicious — a must-try! We left feeling relaxed and so grateful for the experience. Can’t wait to come back!

I traded my timeshare here. We got a larger one bedroom than we had last year. The room was very nice and clean. Full size kitchen and bath with shower and tub. We overlooked the pool with a nice view of the ocean. The place is 3 miles north of town. There is a new grocery store, Palm Suoermarket, very close which is nice and they had a good selection. There are also several restaurants nearby. We went to the restaurant at the property which was very good and also went to LaCala which is half a mile down the road. Staff were very accommodating. If you want to rent a cart, they will negotiate pricing from their website. Just ask. Maid service is available at an additional cost for timeshares.

Phil Canto-Front Desk Supervisor did an marvelous job, over the course of my stay at Captain Morgan's Retreat. Phil ensured room service kept our rooms clean and provided fresh towels available each day. When we needed his assistance to set up our parasailing and jet-skiing tours, he interacted with the event managers and provided us with the location and times to meet, with the host of each event. Phil provided us with a list of the best places to eat and have a great evening. I will advise my family and friends visiting San Pedro to stay at Captain Morgan's Retreat, and to make sure they get to know Phil.

Disappointing hotel. Poor first impression with very dilapidated appearing buildings, broken fence, rather few staff, and strong smell of sargassum seaweed. Overall looks and feels old and poorly cared for. That said, the room itself is clean, neat, AC works well, as does wifi.

We had an amazing stay here! The staff were friendly and very helpful. They even decorated the room for our honeymoon! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was delicious, and the drinks were strong. It was an added perk to have the on-site spa. It’s located outside the bustle of downtown San Pedro’s, but close enough for a golf cart ride for dinner or to explore. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Greg and Joel and the hotel staff took great care of us, treated us like family and gave us many options of places to explore. We got treated like royalty staying here. Would recommend this resort to anyone. It is close to everything and they have options for booking anything that you need. There is a grocery mart just down the street that you can go buy snacks and drinks before heading out for the day,

Just spent two weeks at Captain Morgans. I would def not stay there again. The cabanas on the beach are literally like a 1980's motel room. (dark & outdated)|We spent most of our time on the next-door pool property. (Oceans 23). |The food was just ok, staff nice, but literally a place just to sleep & shower. |The appearance from the road looking at Captain Morgans is pretty bad........almost looks like it has lacked basic maintenance for years. |New owner is not friendly or engaging. The other staff is nice though. |There are many, much, much nicer places to stay...........only wished we had known before booking. The online photos are deceiving.
