Captain's Bounty On The Beach

We absolutely loved our stay at the Captains Bounty !! We loved our room & the location is just amazing; sits right on the ocean, so if you don’t want to walk, this is the place for you. The balcony overlooks the ocean and is simply amazing !!! And the staff are very nice !! All the shops & restaurants are walking distance; once you park your car, you never have to move it. It was perfect and exactly what we wanted, so we already reserved the captains quarters for a few days next year. Thank you for a wonderful experience !!! We can’t wait to come back !!! 😁

Rooms are exactly as described. I hate to sound like a cliche, but it was very cozy and quaint. Loved the decor. Very clean and well-cared for. Amenities are exactly what we were looking for. You can't ask for a better location. It's right on the beach, and yes Every Room has a Full ocean view. We already miss falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves outside of our patio doors. With the sink, coffee pot, cookware, dishes, and utensils, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, we were able to prepare food, including simple breakfasts, sandwiches, and a simple dinner in our room. The cafe table in the room provided a place to eat our meals and do a little paperwork. If we return to New England again, we'll definitely stay at the Captain's Bounty again.

We just stayed last weekend and we can't say enough good things about the bounty! We have stayed 2 times and both have been wonderful stays each time. The views are beautiful no matter what floor you are on and the rooms are cute! The staff is super helpful, professional, and super kind. My husband and I got engaged on front beach so it's a special place for us and we can't wait to come back and stay again!

We have had the pleasure of staying here many times, and we keep returning. No better location, no better staff, no fuss beach themed rooms, beautiful views, walk to everything. Rockport is a beautiful destination and the Captains Bounty is the perfect place to stay.The hotel management and staff are stellar. The atmosphere is laid-back and friendly. We traveled with my mom(91) She suggested a grab bar in the shower. The tub is low enough so she could step in independently.

Very nice stay! The hotel supplied a pack and play for our daughter. Being steps away from the beach was perfect for a barely walking toddler. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Beautiful view from the room. Helpful management and cleaning staff. We were lucky to be able to check in early because our room was ready. Easy parking situation (1 spot per room) that makes it easy to come and go without having to deal with meters / city parking.

Great location and staff is fantastic and accommodating, I’ve been several times and always pleased. Clean rooms, great location for everything you want to do. Amazing view. Both kitchenette and regular rooms all have the same beach view with a private balcony

My wife and I were here to getaway together in celebration of our 16th wedding anniversary. Hotel was very clean, staff extremely friendly and helpful, beach was clean and relaxing, and it’s close to restaurants and other activities. Check out the walks and views at Halibut State park while you are out here. Rockport is a great place to be and we’re considering going back with the kids to visit another time. Highly recommended.

Excellent. Location could not be better and we snagged an ocean front for night one. The room and bathroom was spacious for Cape Ann. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The rooms outside deck was spacious and the ocean water lapped on the sand and rocks below. The staff was absolutely great. Friendly, accommodating and competent. The view was of the open ocean, Bears Neck, and back beach. Awesome. The 4th of July Parade walks right by the hotel and the Bonfire is a 30 second walk away. Bears Neck and the many shops, restaurants, lobster pounds, art dealers, jewelers, artist, glass blowers and more is a very short walk away.

We have stayed at the Captain's Bounty many times. This year our trip was cancelled due to airline issues and delays (coming from California). I called to cancel our reservation two days prior to check in. Per the Captain's Bounty policy I was charged for my room for all 3 nights in full. I was notified I would receive a credit if the room was booked out again. However, at 5pm on the day of check in they called to ask about setting up contactless check in. They had not cancelled our room, but I was charged two days prior for all 3 nights. I understand their policies, but our room still showing as unavailable would not have allowed someone to reserve it. As repeat customers I am disappointed in their customer service and lack of communication.

We would like to thank the owner and the extremely friendly staff at Captain's Bounty on the Beach in RockPort Massachusetts. We have been staying at this beach front Hotel every summer for the past five years. The experience has always been wonderful. The owner and staff take pride in this property and it shows. This was a great beachfront little inn. We enjoyed sleeping with our sliding door open to hear the waves and waking up to a gorgeous sunrise. It was truly spectacular and for me, it felt even more precious with the morning fog. I truly enjoyed our stay here and would come again. This was a great find. Just a small and quaint room looking out into the ocean. It was so soothing and relaxing to listen to the waves and looking out at such a stunning view.

Captain's is a great spot by the beach, beach is so close it is literally behind the Inn (back deck beach view) Office staff employees are very nice and helpful. We will be back, we loved it !!

This is the perfect place for a peaceful ocean getaway. Every room has a private balcony that overlooks the beach with the ocean right in front of you. The room was on the small side but it meets the Three C's--Clean, Cozy and Comfortable. Each room has its own private balcony so you can open the sliding door and not worry about anyone else. I slept with the door open so I could hear the waves and enjoy the ocean breeze. It was heavenly! The oceanfront balcony was an amazing place to hang out and relax. i brought dinner back to my room and ate it out there. The bed was comfortable, and the room had a small fridge and microwave. There were also some complimentary treats to welcome me! The staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is right on Front Beach and is located in the heart of town with its shops, galleries and restaurants. I come to Rockport all the time but just for the day and then I drive home. Staying here made me think "Why don't i stay over more often?" I am definitely going to stay here again. I loved it!

It is a beautiful place. Staff were warm and gracious and the place is sort of on top of the ocean. All rooms come with a balcony. All of them are private too which is really nice because you can sleep with the balcony door open listening to the waves crash! Better then some over the counter sleep aide for sure. Rooms are Nautical and quite quaint. Captan's Bounty is a hop, skip and a jump from downtown area where you c an wander about checking out all the art stores. Plenty of places to eat close by as well. Prices are great. And I can say with confidence that we would stay here again. It is a beautiful place and I am glad we chose to experience the beauty of Rockport at Captain's Bounty!

There are two sections of this hotel now. If you want to stay at the original hotel, you need to book at Captain's Bounty On The Beach, instead of Captain's Bounty Beach View. If you make that mistake, you end up across the street and up a hill. While the Beach View version is pleasant and nicely appointed, it is a very different experience.

Location is perfect! Gorgeous view of the ocean, room was spotless and perfect for our Anniversary celebration with our adult sons. Quiet town, respectful people, will definitely be back!

Very friendly, accommodating staff. Rooms are very clean and comfortable amazing views and very close (walking distance) to dining and attractions.

When we pulled up and I saw the giant pirate and that we were staying at a motel I do have to admit I didn't think romance, or have high expectations. Oh how I was wrong, it was our anniversary so I'm glad the pirate didn't stop me from heading up to our room. We checked in and the woman in office greeted us with a warm smile and assured us anything we needed during our stay to call her. The room was super clean, brand new bathrooms, and had a cute kitchen. Not super fancy, but simple, and clean. The view though can not be beat and every single room has a balcony that faces the ocean. We fell asleep to the sound of the waves lapping onto the beach and woke up to the same sound. It was beautiful. Only tip I have is if you have trouble sleeping with a large firm pillow (stomach or back) bring your own, and if you wanted to go out at night, head over to Gloucester, everything in Rockport seems to close very early.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Captain Bounty. The Innkeepers were so so nice and accommodating, giving us suggestions for restaurants, hikes, and other things to do in Rockport. The rooms are nicely furnished and decorated, and although a bit dated, it is very clean and has a nice modest feel to it. We stayed on the first floor, which apparently had the least appealing beach view, but it was amazing none the less! The tide was in, so the waves were ebbing and flowing right underneath our balcony. A lot of time was spent just looking out into the Atlantic from our balcony. Rockport is such a nice walking town, and the location of Captain Bounty made it so easy for us to enjoy the downtown area. Would definitely come back, if the Lord wills!

The view from our balcony is amazing! Love the small beach area. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and tidy. Location is perfect. We've walked to all the shops and dining. Couldn't recommmend it more highly. Staff is great too!

There are two locations for this hotel. The main hotel that everyone raves about and then the "NEW" Beach View building. DO NOT STAY IN THE BEACH VIEW ROOMS. The rooms are built around a parking lot, jammed with cars. Your room looks out over the parking lot with a distant view of the beach. Car headlights shine in the room all night. You can actually hear your neighbors talk in their room. The Air conditioner in the room was akin to a jet engine. And the Air conditioner from the next room vibrated the walls all night long, cycling on and off. OMG. These rooms are new, but not worth $300 a night. Very disappointed with choosing this hotel.

This is our favorite place to stay in Rockport Ma. Staff is great and the rooms are perfect! Excellent view and bedrooms are clean and very well maintained. You are literally on the beach and can limsten to the waves lull you to sleep. Easy walk to downtown shopping. Maureen is always wonderful and obviously cares about the customers.

Absolutely love this place as well as the quaint seaside town of Rockport. Hotel is lovely with every room having a beachfront view. Hearing the waves crash on the shore at night outside the balcony door was awesome! Steps from town, with shops and restaurants. I fell in love with Rockport Massachusetts this vacation.

Stayed at The Captain's Bounty Aug 3rd and 4th. They are located right on Front beach and just steps away from downtown. Had a efficiency room on the 3rd floor. Room was clean and inviting. Great views! Would definitely stay here again! My only 2 suggestions would be to have a larger frying pan (could only cook one burger at a time) and upgrade the coffee maker to a Keurig.

We have stayed at a different waterfront place in Rockport for the last 10 years to celebrate our anniversary. Many times we have looked over at the Captain Bounty and noted that it was on the beach. So this year we made the switch and stayed at the Bounty. Sooo happy we made the switch! We stayed in a room on the 3rd floor and walked into an amazing view. Water and boats and the sound of the waves crashing. Amazing. We spent most of our stay on our private deck. We did walk down to the beach directly in front of the hotel. Sandy, clean and did I mention the motel is directly located on it? Location is perfect for walking to bearskin neck shops and restaurants. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. Small fridge and microwave are great for bringing back leftovers and chilling champagne. This will be our new place for our annual weekend in Rockport!

If you are staying in Rockport, this is a great place to make your base. The location could not be better. You are literally right on the beach, and a very nice beach it is. You can walk right down without putting on shoes. We also had a private balcony on our room, so we could sit out there at night and overlook the beach. I think most if not all rooms have them, but I would check to make sure and request one. The inn is also a block away from Bearskin Neck where all the shops and eateries are. The owners/operators were very friendly and helpful. As far as the room goes, it was average in size, but it had a minifridge and microwave in addition to a TV/DVD combo. The office has a bunch of DVDs you can borrow for free I might add.This was perfect for traveling with a small child and needing to store food and leftovers. The only downside was there was no air-conditioning, which I'm guessing you probably don't need most of the year. But the week we happened to stay there it was pretty hot, even with the screen door and ceiling fan. If there was air conditioning, I say 5 stars easily. But I'll give it 4 1/2. Rockport is also a great place to spend a low key family vacation in this area. Highly recommended.

Wonderful and helpful staff. I felt extremely comfortable and welcomed here. The staff was very accommodating. Since the inn is right on the beach you can't get anything better than this. Step right onto your balcony and watch the sunrise or set. The inn is close enough to walk to Bear Skin neck and all the dining you could possibly need. Park your car when you arrive and don't hop in it till you head home. I will certainly return and highly recommend. The place has an upbeat and homey atmosphere.

What a nice place. Right on the beach. Great rooms, comfy beds. Right near all the great shops. I'm going to be coming back and staying here.

This is a wonderful spot. We stayed on the third floor and had a view from our private balcony of the beach below and the sea beyond. The room is very well appointed including microwave and spacious refrigerator. The king size bed offered a firm mattress and a refreshing nights sleep. The location is ideal with proximity to culture and cuisine, merely a short walk. The staff members are professional and kind. This hotel is a gem among Rockport accommodations.

This is a very clean adequate size motel. Yes it's older, the room is on the small side and the bathroom is not spacious but the manager is very nice and the room I stayed in had its own kitchen which you need in this town because you don't have many food and alcohol options.

Captains Bounty offers a unique experience in the New England area. Right on a small protected beach. The staff and owners are all awesome. The rooms are neat clean comfortable with balconies overlooking the beach. Just a really good experience.

Loved this spot! This hotel was one of the cleanest ever. It was a white light bright room with a comfy bed, everything I want in a room on the coast with a little beach only drawback is no access directly out of private patio, but no big deal. You could leave the sliding patio door open and hear the waves breaking. We arrived with no booking, Maureen was great, we arrived late;I called the Phone number and she met us at motel, we had a room with the kitchen which allowed us to stay in one night. I would definitely stay again and love to come back. Everything in Rockport and bear neck is a very short walk from here, food, shops, local flavor which made it nice not to have to drive and have safe parking in such a busy area. You are also close for driving to Gloucester , and around Cape Ann to beautiful historic sites. I loved it We loved it, Went for one night, stayed 3 luckily they had rooms because the season hasd't started yet.

This is a beautiful place to stay with the view , and near the downtown which is very convenient . You get the beach 24/7. I've stayed there three Septembers & this year they changed owners . I gotta say I miss the old owners , when I checked in didn't feel as welcome as I did in the past & didn't trust that my credit card was mine even with photo ID. They close too early which is at 8 pm . What if someone is coming from Logan from across the country or is stranded and needs a room at midnight , etc? They used to always have movies in the lobby as well but they discontinued that & with that you have to think of the elderly to . It's harder for them to use those remotes & maybe they want a DVD from their generation they can just pop in etc . You also can't get movies on demand , whatever is on at the moment are your choices . The bathroom supplies have become stingier , we used to get 5 soaps , shampoos & a few rolls of TP etc . If you have three ladies that need to wash their hair etc everyday things will run out . I will continue to stay at this serene place but some things haven't changed for the better . If you are a loud night owl , I wouldn't recommend it , more peaceful and serene . It's pretty ideal for " morning people ", you'll be able to sleep quietly if you like to go to bed early . Happy vacations !

Just wrapping up day 1 of 3 and this place is amazing. The room is large and full of all amenities. (Kitchenette, full fridge and freezer, stove and all silverware/placeware. We have the "lobster room" on the top floor. Awesome.) Also a nice sized tv and a private balcony overlooking the ocean. The check-in was smooth and the front desk liaison was very helpful to tell us about the town and where to go. Would highly recommend and am already thinking about our next trip back here. Perfect getaway from the city.

My wife and I enjoyed our wedding night from the balcony of our beautiful room at Captain Bounty last night. The view is amazing and room was absolutely spotless. Even left a very nice card to wish us luck and happiness in our nee marriage. Easily the place to stay while in Rockport. Thanks for an amazing stay!!!

DO YOURSELF THE FAVOR AND STAY AT THIS HEAVEN ON THE BEACH!!!!! Ohhh My God! Best part of our trip was this hotel! You wake up to heaven and go to sleep as if it were a spa!... Very clean, very relaxing, extremely quiet, very tranquil, staff (Lori) front desk oh my god what a doll!!! And her dog such a sweety pie! Very patient here with anything you need. I'm sorry if you don't book your room here your just dumb!!! AND THE BEST PART IS THEY ARE NOT SUPER EXPENSIVE! Definitely our permanent vacation spot for Rockport!

This is the perfect place to stay in Rockport. The staff was awesome and helpful, giving us insight to where to eat local and where to shop. If you want to drift off to sleep every night hearing the ocean waves stay here! You dont even have to put your shoes on to get to the beach, litteraly right out your door. We strolled on the beach, the water is so clear. The view from our room was amazing!! The room was very clean with plenty of comfort. The microwave and fridge came in very handy. Captain Bounty is the perfect location, right around the corner to Bearskin Neck. We spend many hours on our deck overlooking the ocean. A wonderfullly relaxing vacation. This place will not dissapoint!

Been staying here since i was 5yrs old. At 36yrs i still come here and will bring my kids here as well when they get older. Clean rooms, great view, super friendly staff. I forgot my hat and a box fan after checking out. The staff called me and were willing to mail the hat and the fan to me. I asksd if they wouldnt mind mailing the hat and not to worry about the fan. What more can i say, would never even Considering staying somewhere else in Rockport. Best spot in cape ann, highly recommended!

This place is all about location. It is a relatively small inn, but close to everything. Our room was basic, but very clean and nicely furnished. It also had a full size refrigerator, sink, dinner plates and other supplies in the cabinet. This was useful for when we brought freshly cooked lobster back from Roy Moore's. We also had a nice view of the beach and the sea since the inn is on the ocean and a few blocks from Bear Skin Neck. The owner was nice and his two friendly dogs lounged in the lobby. I would definitely stay here again!

My boyfriend and I stayed here the night before we ran a half marathon. Very clean, gorgeous views of the ocean from the rooms/balconies, and the staff was friendly and easy to work with. Since we had to check out of our room before our race, we were bummed we wouldn't have our room to shower in after, but they ended up letting us shower in the employee bathroom! It was extremely kind of them as they did not have to go out of their way to let us do that. My parents also stayed on the first floor with their dog and were pleased with their stay. If we ever return to Rockport, we'll definitely stay here again!

Can't say enough good things about this place. What a fantastic motel! I stayed here with my mother and 9 month old daughter for a mini Mother's Day getaway. Based on photos and reviews I knew the motel was on the beach, but my mother and I still gasped when we pulled into the parking lot. It is literally ON the beach. During high tide, if you were to jump off your balcony, you'd be in the water. Its awesome. Sleeping to the sound of the ocean was heavenly! The motel is also the last building in a strip of buildings and has a beach with public bathrooms directly to its left. Its so nice to be able to hang out at the beach and walk up to your room to change, grab a snack, use the restroom, etc! We chose a room with a queen bed and full kitchen - we only used the fridge/freezer and coffee pot, but the kitchen was fully stocked if we needed anything. The room was VERY clean - can't ask for much more than that! It wasn't a big room, and the bathroom was small, but trust me, you're not in the room much for it to matter. It was the perfect size for what we were there for! The owners live right upstairs and are so incredibly nice. You can really tell they go above and beyond in taking care of their place. The lobby is stocked with movies available for free rentals - a nice touch that would come in handy in poor weather for sure! For the price, you really can't beat this place. I read a lot of reviews and researched a lot of places in Rockport before visiting, and I am SO glad I chose Captain's Bounty. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else. Don't expect a Four Seasons - its a standard beach motel, only better because of the location. And again, it is VERY CLEAN. I'll stay anywhere as long as its clean! I can't wait to visit again! We stayed here on a weekend in April. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. The parking is tight, and customers have to pay attention to make sure that they are parked correctly within the lines. The owner made sure that everyone could park their car. The room that we had was an efficiency. There was a fridge, a stove, small appliances, bowls/plates, pans, glasses/mugs, and flatware. The bed was queen size and very comfortable. There was also a very warm blanket that could cover the bed to make it warm on a cold night. Each room comes with a private balcony. There were 2 plastic chairs, which were comfortable enough to sit, relax, and hang out with the ocean right in front of you. It was a short walk to Bear Skin Neck and the shops. The choice of restaurants was very few with little variances in the menu. If you like fried seafood, then you'll always be in luck. We look forward to staying at the inn again in the future.

My wife and I go there a few times a year because we love the north shore and they are centrally located to that area. Reasonable rates, right on a small family style beach, dogs are allowed, walking distance to all the shops in Rockport.

Got the corner room 3rd floor. Seemed like newish renovation, tile + carpet, pleasant decoration. The Mrs. gave it the thumbs up, which is all that matters. Yes, 'spensive. Bed was squishy, but only because it had one of those added squishy layers on an otherwise somewhat firm mattress set. It was clean, again, that's all that matters.

My husband and I stayed at the Captain's Bounty for two nights at the end of April. We stayed in an end unit on the 3rd floor. We loved it!! The room was clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed sleeping with the door open so we could hear the waves and feel the ocean breeze. The pictures on the site do not lie. The rooms look exactly as shown and yes the beach is that close. The town is an easy walk, with nice shops and restaurants. The Inn Keepers were very personable and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Definitely worth the visit.

This summer we stayed in the Captains Bounty for the sixth time. I think it's accurate to call summer stays at the CB a three-generation family tradition. The quality of the rooms has never wavered, except to improve. We love the seaside simplicity of the room design (and the sea star souvenir we always take home!); the squeaky clean bedroom and bathroom; the over-the-sand balcony; and the mini-fridge. It is also wonderful to have free, on-site parking. The car stays parked while we're in Rockport, because we can walk to downtown, Bear Skin Neck, the town garden, two beaches, an historic cemetery, and more. The people at the CB are kind and helpful, and this summer they won a new place in our hearts: Our daughter's favorite stuffed animal got left behind in our room, which we did not discover until we arrived back at our Los Angeles home. When we contacted the front desk, they had Brown Dog waiting for our call, and sent him home immediately, complete with a text and photo of our little friend. We love this place, and I anticipate many more summer memories being made there.

This is a great place to stay. The room was very clean and cheery and is situated right on the beach. We kept the sliding door open at night so we could listen to the waves. HEAVEN! The shops in Rockport are all in walking distance. Go across the street for an awesome breakfast! The office staff was so friendly and helpful especially when I needed to catch a bus into Gloucester! Our stay was wonderful! We will be back!

My family cannot say enough great things about Captain's Bounty on the Beach. The staff especially the proprietor was top notch in welcoming and accommodating each and every guest. The cleanliness and décor of our room was impeccable. They go above and beyond in every aspect of your stay. Whether staying with family or a romantic weekend- look no further this is the place to stay.

Don't go if you're trying to have fun. The location might be nice, and the rooms might be cheap, but the owners couldn't be more rude. I was there for a wedding celebration and they treated us all like we were kids at senior prom. Both nights the owner came storming into our room. We may have a more than 2 people in it, but you could tell he was just waiting for a reason to yell at us. The next night was even worse. The owner and his wife were sitting out waiting to chastise again. One guy acted up (a little) outside of the room, and the owner's proceeded to call the whole group low class. It continued to the next day when we cleaned up everything and checked out on time. She went door-to-door of people staying there for the wedding giving a minute by minute countdown, and continuing to call us all low class. Even coming up to us as we're getting in our cars to leave, still with the low class. Spend $20 more and stay at one of the super nice and super cute B&Bs in Rockport.

We have been staying at Captains Bounty for many years, off and on, and we would not go anywhere else in Rockport. It has the perfect location of a glorious beach behind it with beautiful views from your own deck, to walking distance to anywhere in town, Bear Neck and restaurants, and great parking to be able to leave your car there the entire time of your trip.The first floor allows dogs, all year, and after September 15th they are allowed on the beach. So that is when we go.There are 3 floors. There are new owners this year, and they are doing a fabulous job going through that place with amazing updates...it will take time but the rooms are fresh and clean, new linens, paint, bathrooms updated etc. The staff are welcoming,friendly, and accommodating. There is wifi, and cable has a large selection of channels if you do watch tv.If you need more of anything, they will help you! You have your own private deck too that overlooks the ocean and beach. The website was updated with good pictures and you can see what rooms are available too, great feature.
