Captains Retreat Apartments & Cottages Williamstown

Booked an overnight stay for my mum for her birthday and everything was exceptional. The rooms was beautiful, with such character. So clean . The entire building is so charming, the enchanted garden out the back is just sublime. Melissa the owner is the loveliest host. So friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, close to everything you need. I highly recommend the Captains Retreat for a lovely, homely stay in Willi.

From an early check in to holding onto the walking stick I forgot a great stay.||Chose the Captains Retreat some months ago and have to say the apartment was beautiful, felt like coming home and relaxing the moment I walked through the front door. Everything from the bedrooms, bathroom, well equipped kitchen and lovely comfortable living room were great. It felt like a family home.||Everything was clean and easy to find with a small basket of food to start our stay off well.||Thanks Melissa.

Last minute booking saw us looking for accommodation In Williamstown which we had never before considered. We travelled by train as we were picking up a car. When we got to the sat we called to say we were late. They offered to pick us up, how nice. The rooms are beautiful and also comfortable. A selection of sizes and several with baths. The photos show the character of the building. What you do t see is the warm hospitality. I’m could easily spend a lot of time here. Go for a walk and look across the sea to the city and feel like you’re in paradise.

I had the privilege of being able to officiate a wedding at Captain’s Retreat. Melissa (and Leo!) were excellent hosts. We held the ceremony in the private and serene courtyard at the venue. It provides the opportunity for an excellent elopement venue. Do consider.

My husband and I had a very lovely experience staying at Captains Retreat this week. Melissa welcomed us with a genuine warmth and kindness that had us instantly feeling at home. The little touches at Captains Retreat are what make the difference between it and any of the big chain hotels. While we were in awe of this magnificent building itself, we were also thrilled by the novel things like the biscuits included with the tea and coffee facilities (a fantastic taste in biscuits too I might add). Melissa’s helpfulness in suggestions of places to breakfast and calling ahead to book us a table at Hola Mexico were very welcomed. We also enjoyed the presence of the “little lions” even though we only got to meet one of the two. We look forward to our next opportunity to return.

Amazing art deco property in a great location!|Melissa made the check in process very easy. I definitely recommend The Captain’s retreat for anyone staying in Williamstown. The bed was extremely comfortable and the house was very clean. I loved the heating in the lounge room especially during a cold night.

We felt like true guests of their family. Melissa made sure we were cared for. We can not fault The Captains Retreat. The bed was like sleeping on clouds. The decor was on point. The fire was fantastic to come home to. Will be back. Anthony and Edward.

What an amazing hidden gem in Williamstown! Stayed for a few nights here and loved the apartment. The rooms & living spaces were spacious, airy, light filled & tastefully decorated. The location is really convenient and well positioned near the water - walking distance from some really great eateries, shops & cafes. Melissa & her team were friendly & helpful.
