Captains Retreat Apartments & Cottages Williamstown

Absolutely loved our stay. Host Melissa looked after us so well and helped so much with general location advice and meal recommendations/bookings. Rooms and facilities were perfect - very welcoming and comfortable. We will definitely be back. Fabulous getaway & retreat in Melbourne.

We were upgraded to the Captains suite. Normally this is slightly more expensive but would still represent great value. The room is massive - the size of a small apartment, the furnishings very olde world but tasteful and the bathroom huge. It’s a great location and while a bit quirky it’s lovely. Nice touch also is access to another upstairs lounge which is bright and airy and includes a kitchen.|Plenty of cafes etc nearby in Furgeson St.

We have stayed in many hotels and apartment but this was our favourite stay yet. Such a beautiful spot! Extremely attentive and friendly staff, quick responses and went above and beyond. The historical apartment we stayed in was beautiful. We loved the detail of the common room upstairs with snacks, tea and coffee and able to go sit outside on the balcony. Beautiful location in Williamstown so close to the CBD but also a lovely spot to go to local coffee shops and walk along the wharf. Couldn’t recommend this spot more!!

This will be my go to start in Williamstown. I had some lovely conversation with the owner about the restoration, artwork and life. The Captain's Suite upstairs was a lovely room to stay in. I worked from there on both evenings and the desk was very handy. The shared lounge room has instant coffee, a plunger kit with grounds coffee supplied and a newer addition of an automatic coffee machine. There's a dining table which I ate fish and chips at.

Absolutely charming cottage, beautifully decorated and absolute perfect location in Williamstown. Melissa is a fabulous host, she couldn’t do enough for us and was a wealth of local knowledge on where to go and what to see - will be back for sure.

Booked an overnight stay for my mum for her birthday and everything was exceptional. The rooms was beautiful, with such character. So clean . The entire building is so charming, the enchanted garden out the back is just sublime. Melissa the owner is the loveliest host. So friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, close to everything you need. I highly recommend the Captains Retreat for a lovely, homely stay in Willi.

From an early check in to holding onto the walking stick I forgot a great stay.||Chose the Captains Retreat some months ago and have to say the apartment was beautiful, felt like coming home and relaxing the moment I walked through the front door. Everything from the bedrooms, bathroom, well equipped kitchen and lovely comfortable living room were great. It felt like a family home.||Everything was clean and easy to find with a small basket of food to start our stay off well.||Thanks Melissa.

Last minute booking saw us looking for accommodation In Williamstown which we had never before considered. We travelled by train as we were picking up a car. When we got to the sat we called to say we were late. They offered to pick us up, how nice. The rooms are beautiful and also comfortable. A selection of sizes and several with baths. The photos show the character of the building. What you do t see is the warm hospitality. I’m could easily spend a lot of time here. Go for a walk and look across the sea to the city and feel like you’re in paradise.
