Captain's Table

This place is a longstanding Orange County favorite but new to me. I’ve been here about five times since the summer and every time I have a great meal but what really keeps me coming back is the fun vibe, friendly atmosphere and music. Tonight Hudson Blue band had everyone dancing and they are even more fun in the summer at the outdoor venue in the back with the beach and music hut. This place has three to four bars(outside front) and if you have any sports lovers, they will be sure to love the atmosphere too. Definitely will be back! Left with a happy heart😉💛

My husband and I were dining at Captain’s Table tonight to celebrate my 65th birthday!🎂. We dined here previously for our anniversary 🥂🍾celebration and the food and service were absolutely amazing. As we anticipated, our return to Captain’s Table was again outstanding!!! The appetizer and entree serving sizes were huge!!! Our server, Elizabeth, was so attentive and friendly😍👍🏼. She made our dining experience extra special and memorable! We will definitely be coming back again for our celebration dinners! We ordered the Nacho Grande and French Onion Soup, and Braised Short Rib and Shrimp, Scallop and Clam pasta. Dessert was Salted Caramel Chocolate Skillet and NY Cheesecake. Everything was served hot and delicious! I highly recommend Captain’s Table for couples, families and large group dining!

Food was good. Shrimp basket was really good 👍🏾 nachos was popping lol.

This place is amazing. Great food and great service. The staff here makes you feel at home. So pleasant and welcoming. For appetizers we ordered the buffalo wings , pretzels bites and buffalo dip with chips. For our main course I ordered the honey and bourbon salmon with mashed red potatoes and spinach. The salmon was so soft and the potatoes were well seasoned. My parents ordered the Ribeye steak with potatoes and vegetables and my brother ordered the steak sandwich with sweet potato fries.

The Calamari Kale was a must. The buffalo wings were hot but not oily, tasted like it was baked not fried which is good and healthy.

This is our cozy place to eat as a family in Monroe, NY for years! There is indoor and outdoor dining and a bar area which has indoor and outdoor seating as well! Food is delicious, service is awesome, and kids can even play in a huge sand pit! Live music in the summer on select nights is always a bonus!

Drive around the back, towards the left of the restaurant--->> it's a different "world" back there ! Amazing and the food is superb - one look at the menu and you'll be able to tell that their cuisine and selections were prepared by a chef -not just by a great cook. Went with wife and 13 year old granddaughter the first time and we all had amazing meals and their wine selection was impressive. I had tuna tar-tar, my wife had crab cakes, and my granddaughter had ahi tuna and we all loved our meals. We just had to try again and went to eat there again with equally great meals. The menu choices are great and the first time we spent about $100 and the second time we had the fried calamari appetizers (it was delicious) and full meals and lots of desserts and spent about $200, including about 4 glasses of wine. I highly recommend this place but you've GOT to drive to the back since the front of the restaurant, which is the part you see when you first drive up, is the bar and is for a "much more relaxed crowd and venue." You've got to look past that and, again, lots of nice parking in the rear and a much more quiet dining experience. Both times there were families, and young adult couples having a quiet dining experience.

The parking lot can get tight, especially when it gets busy but around lunch was decent. What would you expect, the reputation of the joint is pretty great so it can be busy during peak times. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is cordial. We were seated almost immediately and greeted by our server within minutes. The menu has a great selection of steak and seafood and chicken! We started with the mozzarella sticks and they were deep fried fantastic. The mozz just oozed out of them. I would strongly recommend the lobster ravioli as an entree. It was prepared to perfection and the savory seafood taste mixed with the ravioli was paired perfectly. The entire meal was great. The Captains Salad was a combination of goodness and flavor and the service to being it to them table was hospitable. As long as I have been in the area, the Captains Table has been a local favorite but you need to stop in and see for yourself.

Went here for dine in service on Friday June 13th 2025 with my parents. We actually sat outside this trip because we wanted to enjoy the nice weather. so outside we went, and we were greeted by a host who sat us at a table. And the good thing is we were able to hand pick our table, so we sat where we were happy. the hostess sat us down and gave us menus. Our server came over right away. We started with waters, and a order of nachos. Waitress was very pleasant, and made sure to check on us. For entrees, I ordered the Tex Mex Chicken sandwich with brocoli, My mom ordered a steak sandwich cooked M with fries, and my dad as well. Food came out in a timely manner. Waitress also made sure to refill our waters. I thought my tex mex chicken sandwich was very good and my dad and mom also enjoyed their food. Waitress brought the check over in a timely manner. we paid via a credit card and left a cash tip. Hope to be back soon!

Very good burger and sweet potato fries! Did not dine in but my husband tells me that is very clean and service is great.

Atmosphere is nice. Mostly a bar with a larger food menu. The food was okay. We had crab cakes, chicken parmigiana and meatloaf wrap. Nothing special. Service was not great. She asked how we were doing as she was briskly walking by to another table. Singer was okay.

Oh how I love the Captains Table. This place has a huge outdoor sand beach for the kids to play. Outdoor seating during summer usually provides for some live music too. The front bar, along the road, fills up quick but the bartenders are so awake and alive, you will never be empty handed. Shout out to Lorrie and Stephanie at the bar!! Vegan options are slim but they make it happen for me every time.

Went there with a total of 8 people on a Saturday night. Waited for our drinks 35 minutes. Waited for our ribeye 45 minutes and immediately found out I had the wrong teeth because I was chewing and chewing on the steak and nothing happened. It was like old bubblegum. My friends had the same problem with their meals. Drinks were very difficult to get. I also noticed a couple arguing with the manager because they wanted a refund. Other than that the band sounded great.

The food was very tasty. The service was excellent. The prices were good. We're planning on a get together here for 20 to 30 people.

Out w/my friend, food was delish, bartender was awesome and ambiance was amazing!!! Place was crowded, meaning place is superb.

I have passed this place for years and assumed it was a bar. Wrong o. It has a bar but in back a dinning room, a covered patio area and an open air area. Nice choices and fair prices. The bathroom was spotless. The food and service were great. Nice comfy atmosphere and we were not rushed.

Looks deceivingly small from the road but there is a large space behind the front facade. I think there were 4 different spaces. The bathrooms were labeled Bouy and Gulls. They were painted blue and pink. Took me a min to realize boys and girls LOL A lot of locals perched at the bar. Seems like they might have themed events. We stopped in for dinner before we headed to Pure Terror Scream Park. Janina was so wonderful and pleasant. She took care of us and answered our questions about the menu. We had the special appetizer, Drunken Clam and Mussels, slightly spicy but delicious. French Onion Soup was good, would have liked more onions but the cheese was ooey gooey good. Most other places have a harder cheese that just gets peeled off like if a slice of cheese was just slapped on top. I like the ooey gooey cheese. Maple Pecan Encrusted Salmon was ok. The salmon was good but the maple pecan were piled in the center of the salmon not really encrusted so I ended up scrapping it off to enjoy the salmon. Hubby had the special ribs. Very good BBQ sauce on it. The biscuit was moist inside. And the fries were huge. We had a great meal, next time we're in the area we will go back.

Decent atmosphere. Interior design does its best to bring a seaside bar theme to the Hudson valley. Food was a little pricey, but held its worth. Service was average. Important to know that checks cannot be split here.

Very good food in a pretty big place. It's been around for decades. Two indoor and one outdoor bars, tables inside and outside. Sand court. Bands regularly play here. Service is very friendly even when they're busy. My one issue was a server who didn't write down any of our orders (four -top) and I received a tequila/tap water/lemon instead of tequila/soda water/lime. But that's not a big deal.

Went to a party here last night. Great service all around, large place, nice bars, and even had a band! Food was excellent!

This has been our go-to for years and for good reason. We love the atmosphere and the ability to sit by the bar, in the dining room, or outside (weather pending.) The sandbox in the back is great when you have little ones. Such a good menu with options for everyone. The food has always been delicious. This is not where you go for a fancy dinner, this is where you go for just a good, casual, delicious meal. Priced well, good portions (we always have leftovers next day) and the best wings around. The staff is always wonderful too, we've never had a bad experience with anyone. They are friendly, patient, and accommodating always. It's hard to find a place where the whole family is happy to go to, but this is it.

I went to this place for dinner Last Thursday (July 4th). Had alot of sections; inside outside bar, dining room and beach volleyball court, music stage. There was live misic. I ate the Seafood risotto. It was great; i can taste the broth sauce from the clams to the creamy sauce of the rice. It had clams scallops shrimp and squid rings, im guessing. Just a reminder to those who dont eat shell fish. There was a closed clam that i opened and it spewed out this broth with black sand in it. Fortunately it was on the last clam; i got to enjoy the dish. If it was first i would not have not enjoyed it with the gritty after taste. Open any closed clams away from your main dish.

We saw this place recommended on all the apps and stopped by for lunch while on a road trip. It's a large space, cute decor, good music. We sat near the bar. For a place called Captain's Table, we expected more seafood but there was a wide selection of dishes. I opted for the ahi tuna over seaweed salad. It was well prepared and tasty. The fish and chips were good as well. The French fries were super amazing and I could have eaten a lot more. Service was fast and decent. Overall, we had a nice lunch.

Nice spot! Nice atmosphere. Also good for private parties. They also have live music in the evening.

We really enjoyed our meal here! The outside area in the back of the restaurant was perfect for this beautiful night and had a nice sand area for the little one. We put our little ones food order in right away and got grilled cheddar on wheat bread. They were accommodating with all the changes we asked for! The kids grilled cheese is usually white bread with American cheese. My little foodie has a higher standard for grilled cheese! Lol I got the Tex mex sandwich on a wrap and hubby got a chicken parm hero with grilled chicken. He wanted rice instead of fries and it was so fluffy and flavorful! We also ordered a side of broccoli which was delicious! I really enjoyed the wrap with avocado and pepper Jack cheese. The portions were perfect and our waitress, Victoria was just the sweetest! The only disappointing thing is the extra service charge for paying with cc, which I've been seeing a lot lately, but it's just silly to me.

Very friendly quick service. Ordered fried pickles as app. and Bristro steak sandwich. Very good. Looks like a bar but has a large dinning room and bar area . Prices are resonale. Only draw back is they added a service charage on bill. Asked and they said if paying with card that is fee. Cash they will take off. Paid cash and 20% tip but service charge was still on. I guess most people don't realize this. so I left and they got 20% plus another 3.00 you don't realize you paid. Nice racket going ,should tell customers up front and don`t think everone pays with credit cards.

I come to Captain's Table quite often and usually dine at the bar. The restaurant has been around for a long time and we tend to see the same patrons whenever we dine here. There are TVs at the bar, so it's a good place to go to for sports games. The bartenders here have all been bartending here for a very long time are all very attentive and friendly. The food here is very good. Some of my favorite items to order here are: Prime rib, rib eye, chicken Angelina, grilled salmon, beef stew special and the meatloaf special. Their scallop and shrimp spinach dip appetizer is also amazing. They used to have tuna tacos on their menu, which was my absolute favorite, but they got rid of it a few months ago - still so bummed about this! They have daily specials here and the food is always fresh and delicious. I love Captain's Table so much that I had my bridal shower here last year. The owner Kathy helped organize the bridal shower and made sure that it went off without a hitch. I opted to have the bridal shower in the back by the outdoor area. We had the tuna tacos, lobster ravioli, prime rib, and salmon as entree options. We had pitchers of mimosas that the servers made sure was always flowing. It turned out to be so beautiful. I can't compliment this restaurant and it's staff enough. Highly recommend to anyone. Tip: pay in cash to get a cash discount!

I have been to this restaurant about three times went there tonight sat outside. There was a man playing guitar and singing. He was excellent. Our waitress was wonderful very accommodating. Very experienced. Ordered the prime rib with mashed potatoes. It was perfect medium rare my husband's was medium you could cut it with a fork And then we ordered the muscles for an appetizer the meat and the muscles was a little small because they weren't the big ones but everything was perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This place is always a lot of fun to go to, and it holds a lot of people. Even if the parking lot looks really crowded, don't let that stop you from trying to get a seat. Great variety on the menu, and the food is always good! They also have a great outdoor seating section in the back

It's a fun casual spot to hang out with your friends and family. The place is huge and I really like sitting outside. You have the beach area for the kids to play in and live music . Their pretzels bites are tasty and everyone loved their French onion soup. I liked their fried chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries too!

Food is usually good. The ambience and crowd has changed a lot over the years. It's not as fun as it used to be but I'm sure that will change. Seems like an older crowd and likes to hang out there and I mean old. Service is pretty good.

Gluten free bun option for the bread. We had the Captains burger and fish and chips. Nice size portions. Very fair prices for portion size. Service was good. Lots of options on the menu.

So, I think this place is very good although the burger was not medium as a ordered it. I still really enjoyed the food.

Super excited to stumble upon this oasis on our drive home from Vermont, we called ahead for a reservation and it was amazing service from the time we got there: we were seated immediately and all the staff had masks and were constantly maintaining the cleanliness of the outdoor area. The bathrooms were immaculate as well. Our server was attentive and friendly in addition to being knowledgeable about all of our questions about the amazing large menu. I've noticed a lot of restaurants condensing their menus during the Covid outbreak but not this place. Everything came out in a timely fashion and tasted yummy Hopefully we'll be back sooner than later as our children loved playing in the sand area while we ate.

Its a great family place. Food is solid. Service is good. If you want a drink and good food like a burger its worth it. The pasta is t bad but not Italian restaurant level.

The food is great when they actually have what is on their online menu. Today was the third time in 3 months that I tried ordering two types of burgers that are still on the online menu, but we're actually discontinued months ago. They still have not updated their menu. If you call in an order to pick up, have several back up orders from the online menu and be prepared to spend time hearing what is actually on the menu as opposed to what's been discontinued.

Great service, Great food, Great Prices, and overall great atmosphere. This place is so amazing. I love it totally recommend. My family was just visiting the area and needed a place to go to dinner. We were searching the web looking for a good place and came across "The Captains Table" it sounded pretty good so we decided to go there. We made a reservation and when we got there everyone seemed really nice. We got some amazing food and left. Amazing Amazing Amazing. If your in the area go here immediately.

The food is pretty good, but it took a long for it to come out. Some of the food came out cold. The waitress wasted food one of the people in our group, and she wasn't even apologetic. The steak came out with extra fat on it. The kitchen staff could have cut the fat off. In this being my second time here, the overall experience was okay, but could have been better.

One of our favorite local restaurants. Food is always quick and delicious. We always ask for the "Carlos wings" which are not on the menu but just a blend of 3 of their sauces. The tex mex burger/chicken sandwich is always a win in our book. Very family oriented with the sand pit in back. Most nights have live music and a perfect first-date laid back place. Comfortable night life, alot of locals always revisit

My wife and I recently went there for lunch. They have renovated the inside since the last time we were there and they did a great job. The atmosphere was good and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Excellent lunch menu and very good drinks.

Very nice, casual restaurant. Well run, very nice staff and owner. The place is very clean and well taken care of. Food is reasonably priced and well made. The place is huge as well with plenty of seating and good distance between tables so you're not on top of your neighbors.

I definitely love this place! This place is my smoking hot girlfriends stomping grounds and I'm invading her territory because this place is freaking awesome! From the outside it didn't seem that "nice" but heck you've heard the old adage "don't judge a book by it's cover" well this place was really nice on the inside. It was clean, large, plenty of seating and since I was visiting at night to hang out with my hottie in arms we arrived late so the place was in all out "hang out" mode with a live band and all. They have multiple bars inside, amazing staff and the food I ordered was actually really good. I didn't think the food was going to be as good as it was but I was really happy with it, bear in mind I wasn't drunk (yet) when I ate too so my assessment of the food was while I was completely sober. LOL! I have yet to try the outdoor area because it's still cold outside but I certainly loved the setup of this place with the multiple bar placements and the small open area to dance and just have fun while the live band plays some tunes. I loved that the live band played a little bit of everything to satisfy, almost, everyone because when they started jamming to some Metallica I was all in! Hell Yea! I'm definitely a fan of this place! Remember to drink & party responsibly! Assign a designated driver and have Uber/Lyft available on your phone if you need a ride home.

Very nice bar scene with an active live music schedule. This afternoon Free Shrimp played 3 sets of energetic tunes in the back, open air section with a sand pit to keep the youngins occupied. Very busy, waited 10 minutes for a table but it was worth it. The cheeseburger and fries were well received and my scallops and broccoli were very good but the grits, no so much as I'm used to grits down south. Our server was OK but seemed either tired or overworked. Great band, I would definitely return to see Free Shrimp again.

Fun place for the family in good (warmer) weather. Food is ok, people are nice. Overall good experience.

Omg my friend the the calamari over a bed of kale!! I have to say one of the best meals of calamari I have ever seen or tasted!! My salad was so delicious I really enjoyed it and the dressing was a Zinfandel dressing was so yummy!!!! I got the captains salad I believe! Highly recommend this place!!

The food was great and was crispy and fresh. The service was on point and was fast. Even better, they had live music and sports playing on TV! They also have a bar for anyone who wants a drink. In all, if O could give The Captains Table a 6 star review I most certainly would.

First meal out after the covid 19 quarantine and so very enjoyable! Everything was organized from the moment we arrived. Staff was friendly and helpful. But going out to eat is not only about the service, it's of course about the food! It was definitely delicious. From our appetizers to our main courses everything was absolutely wonderful and this was a table of 5 foodies one that is a chef ( his prime rib was perfect) I give them one more star for really making us feel comfortable in a new era. Thank you Captains Table! Very highly recommended.

They absolutely have the best prime rib I have ever eaten. Weekends only. We live going here.

We have dined here a few times and been to a catered birthday. The result led to us having my baby shower here too. The food has always been delicious, from sandwiches to burgers, and entrees. Desserts are great too! They have a good selection and the chips are a nice alternative to fries. Service has always been great and the people in charge of catering events and scheduling was always helpful and flexible when we had questions or wanted to change an item. It's great that they have a main dining room, extra room, and bar area. Parking is decent. We've always been happy with our experience here!

This place hands down is amazing great service amazing food good prices. Went tonight for a much needed date night with my lady and it was an outstanding time. They had live music, food was amazing and came out fast. The service was so welcoming and friendly. Couldn't of asked for a better time. The place was so clean made us feel safe and comfortable during these strange times. Thank you! See you real soon!
