We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our Japan holiday, and then another night at the end of our trip.
First, I note there are a lot of mixed reviews, some people saying that the hotel is not the same standard as other Hyatt hotels. What needs to be understood is that Hyatt Group operate many tiers of hotel brands. If you google “Hyatt brands list” you will see that Caption is categorised as an “Essentials” tier brand (the lowest level). It is not fair to try and compare it to a Park Hyatt or a Hyatt Regency.
Having said that, I knew this when I booked our rooms (King Bed, High Floor). The hotel opened in October 2025 and by the time of our visit last week (late Jan 2026) the staff seems to have settled as we had no issues with check in, check out processes.
The rooms are bright, comfortable and delightfully furnished. We especially appreciated the large shower space and the little sofa by the window. The heating system works well - in fact too well for our liking as it was set to 25’c and we found it too hot. We ended up using the fan function at 21’c which suited us best….cooling also works well (I accidentally set it to AC fo a short period).
For purpose of reducing waste, the only amenities in the room are bath soap, body lotion, shampoo&conditioner, kettle, mugs, two coffee drip filters, and a small bar fridge, and a safe. The reception downstairs has an amenities section from which you can get what you need eg toothbrush toothpaste etc. I have seen this in other non-Hyatt hotels in Japan, and I think it is a good idea.
Also instead of providing bottled water, each room has a jug with lid which you can use to get filtered water from the dispenser on each floor (it is just off one of the hallways). The dispenser can give warm or cool filtered water.
Our room rate included breakfast, and we enjoyed our breakfasts - you can choose from the menu at the counter of Talk Shop cafe. This is also a well lit and comfortable space with different kinds of seating to suit all.
There is a decent gym, and I wished I had brought my gym clothes ; on the same floor is an open lounge if you need some space.
The location is convenient - from Haneda Airport we took the Keikyu line to Nihombashi station (no train changes required) and from exit D1 it is a 5 minute walk to the hotel. The hotel also lists this as an option to get there but note that the route from the platform to exit D1 has a few stairs - we did use one escalator but the rest we had to lug the suitcases up and down steps. Alternatively, the hotel is a 15 minute walk from Tokyo Station. We took a taxi when we returned to the airport and on a Sunday it is a quick 20min ride. It is a short walk to Ginza.
Overall, we enjoyed our stays at this hotel and I would stay here again.
