Yelp
We tried this bakery because I had recently purchased a $20 Groupon for $10. I was initially impressed with the relatively cheaper pricing than most other bakeries. We visited on Valentine's Day and expected to select some delicious pastries because of the substantially good things we had heard about it. Damn, we were significantly disappointed.
First off, the teenage girl behind the counter was super friendly and attentive to the customers. We selected virtually one of each of the plethora of pastries in the various cases. We also purchased a pound of the marzipan. I've been eating marzipan for well over 30 years and consider this delicacy to be one of my favorites. I also chose a lintzer tart and my girlfriend added a cannoli.
Secondly, the marzipan were all hard, almost stale-like. These little candies never tasted so badly any other time I had consumed them.
Thirdly, almost each pastry we selected also tasted rather stale and, in fact, tasted like the refrigerated unit itself. You know that taste of something in your fridge at home that sits uncovered and ultimately absorbs the taste of everything else in your fridge? Well, this powerful taste was absolutely gross. The various mini cheese cakes, powder cream puffs, cherry tarts, etc. we're overwhelmed with this horrible taste.
Unequivocally though, the lintzer tart and the cannoli, both in different refrigerated cases, were exceptionally delicious. We probably will not be returning to this bakery at anytime in the distant future, with a Groupon or not!
