Madelyn helped us and she was super nice! We came in to get some meats and cheeses for s charcuterie picnic for my birthday and even though they were about to close, she was so nice and patient with us and even offered us samples without us even asking. The food is SO yummy! Such a great spot for meats and cheeses and my husband and I are obsessed with their sandwiches.

I got the old school as a panini and it was really good! I highly recommend making one of their sandwiches a panini! The pasta salad was great too!

Google
This shop has a fun and artsy vibe. Great arrangement of local and imported products (many from Italy). It’s a good time just walking around and seeing what’s for sale. I’ve eaten here a few times, and I’ve liked it overall. The muffuletta was delicious, as was the hot pastrami. Due to the nature of the pastrami sandwich, it does not hold or travel well. I recommend that for dine-in. The salads were meh and a little dry (the antipasto, Greek, caprese) and I wouldn’t get again. I will come back! Good high quality olive oils and chocolates, too, sold here.

Now that I have been here at least three times I can review fairly- I so wanted to give this place a 5 star but each time I just have been disappointed. The atmosphere is awesome, the store is cute and products, placement looks artsy. Many of the products in the store seem amazing and worth trying so I waited to try them again, maybe the first time they had just made a mistake. We ate here a few times, tried various items (meatball sandwich, soups, salad, tiramisu and other cookies and their coffee). Each time the quality is a-okay, sort of similar to what you’d find in a nice grocery store, not in an artsy Italian cafe. but most disappointing- for a nice cafe the food somehow always comes out smashed, every time I ask them that we are eating in they still wrap my food. Coffee comes in only paper cup regardless if you eat in. It just seems unfitting for an establishment like this to smash wrap a sandwich in foil packaging, and serve coffee in a cheap paper cup.

Google
I absolutely love this place! Anytime I come to SLC, I have to visit. Normally I get the meatball sub but I came a little too early and tried the pastrami which was also amazing. I am fortunate enough to be here multiple days so I came back and had the meatball sub. It was perfect as always! Great place to eat lunch and read a book.

Google
I love exploring all of the international goodies Caputo's has, and their food is always great. This time I ordered two salads (Caprese and Greek) and some specialty chocolates in different flavors. The salads were fresh and delicious, and very reasonably priced. I usually like my chocolate to be predictable, but was feeling adventurous. I selected Banana, a hot pepper, and a curry flavor and they were fantastic! And they came in an adorable, sturdy little box which I will be using for a long time. The employees are always friendly and helpful here.

Nice store and patio but sandwiches are bland. Just some deli meat and cheese thrown in thick bread. Lacked salt, and needed more spread, olive oil etc. We tried the caputo and old school, thought they would be awesome based on reviews. Went here very hungry and left very disappointed.

Google
So many great treats! My go-to place for fancy meats and cheese for homemade pizza. Lots of delicacies in the market section, though they can be pricy. Deli sandwiches are great but expect a line during busy days/hours. Nice shaded porch to eat on when the weather is nice.

Yelp
Food: We had the Ole' School, and the Muffuletta. They were just OK. The portions were generous. My hub felt the Muff did not have the proper meat to olive ration, with the olives being to much. I liked it more than he did. The Ole School was missing something...the problem with takeaway is that you are not really compelled to go back to ask for whatever you think might bump it up to your expectations. My husband liked the Ole School better. Ambiance: There was both a small inside dining area & ample outdoor seating. It looked clean, fresh & modern, with a Euro vibe. Customer Service: Efficient We really liked the offerings in their market section. Lot's of hard to find European tinned, & jarred tapas. We loved the dolomites, boquerones, pepper & breads to go. These came in handy while continuing our camping journey. We would return & try another sandwich.

Yelp
We had a year we went back to SLC every two months, for my husband's cancer treatments. He just completed a course of treatments, and what he wanted to eat afterward while recovering was Caputo's hot pastrami. That was the sandwich he had a day before his first treatment. So I drove over there, feeling a bit nostalgic. The service is great, offering is excellent, and the hot pastrami totally made my husband a happy camper. I hope we'll come visit here again just for fun, for their wonderful sandwiches and chocolates! Also let me add that I am totally partial to small businesses that hang a pride flag! Caputo's Rock.

Yelp
Such a great spot! I had the old school which was delicious and I added a side of pasta salad which blew my mind because it was so delicious. The pesto in the pasta salad really made it. The store is pretty cool too and has all sorts of specialty items like gourmet chocolates and olive oils. The staff were delightful and welcoming.

Yelp
Great Italian deli and presence in our beautiful neighborhood. Some excellent Imported and local products that are required for my cooking preferences

Yelp
Customer service is always very friendly, energetic. I've only been here once so I was a little confused on how to order. So I ordered the Caputos sandwich which comes with Prosciutto, mortadella, salami, provolone, lettuce, tomato, olive oil & balsamic. But honestly didn't seem like any balsamic was on it. The Greek salad was delicious the salami was fresh but the sandwich was very bland. The total for these 3 items was $18.00 I felt like I should have omitted the salad and gotten the other half of the sandwich. I like the vibe here and the shop but honestly wasn't bursting in flavor.

Yelp
Caputo's has had longevity because they are consistent with both their food and their service. Top marks, all around. Caputo's has been a favorite of mine for YEARS. It had been a while since I'd been, but I'd woken up craving their Feta Tomato sandwich. When it was t on the menu, I was heartbroken! The amazing staff, seeing my desolution, asked what I was after - and once I told them they explained I could still get it - as "the Greek" off the secret menu. It was such a rollercoaster of emotions - feeling so distraught and then overjoyed. Side Note: make time to explore the unbelievable products in their market. It's a home chef's dream!

Yelp
Sandwich was delicious, got the pastrami! I was going to buy 2 sandwiches, but it was off putting to see so many flies hanging around the deli area? Could they do something about that- it's seem unsanitary. What's going on? why so many flies and why are they not fazed by it? Bought some slices of cake from Tulie Bakery and didn't see any fly issues. Can you please address this so I can come back feeling assured? Thanks!

Yelp
Starving after a hike? Solution = meatballs and lots of them, plus bread and perfect tomato sauce "sub" style. This place is in my hood but I hadn't been in a while due to the allure of central 9th. I digress. The service was friendly and consistent and the store was well stocked. I got to try a new flavor of my favorite Spanish potato chips and they had the really good local kombucha in a can (white peach and champagne by Hans). Makings for a perfect lunch for sure. Just make sure you're eating that sandwich over a plate with edges because those meatballs WILL fall out and try to roll on ya. Best of luck.

Yelp
Caputo's is a great market where you can find tons of artisan ingredients that would be difficult to find in a store. The staff was extremely nice and greeted me as soon as I came through the door. I only tried their chocolate chip cookie though, which I would say is just ok. The good, their cookie is better than the bakery right next door. The bad, you have to like you chocolate chip cookies with a sprinkle of salt on top because they don't offer a version without. They also have bits of dark chocolate in their cookie, so if that's your thing, then you'd appreciate it. I would say the cookie was slightly above average but not by much.

Yelp
Caputo's has been around awhile. They have dialed in their Italian sandwiches. I picked up a takeout order for my family. We had the meatball, Caputo's Original Italian Sub, Muffaleta, and a Fior Di Latte on focaccia. They were all huge! Order a full if you are really hungry or a half is perfect for most mortals. The fresh mozz on the fior di latte is delicate and delicious. Goes perfect with focaccia or ciabatta. Not to be missed is a salted chocolate chip cookie for dessert. The 15th & 15th Location doesn't have much indoor dining as the market fills most of the space, but has great outdoor dining.

Yelp
If you kinda like sandwiches eat here. If you don't, maybe have some antipasta or other things. Oh, you LOVE sandwiches? If you don't eat here you're missing out on some of the best sandwiches in salt lake. Don't be dumb, eat caputos!

Yelp
After a trip to King's English Bookstore across the street, we stopped at Caputo's for a bite to eat. The turkey sandwich & tomato soup were incredible. The greek salad was different than any I've ever had, but it was tasty!! The shop was small, but lots of unique merch, specifically cocktail ingredients, wine, and meats were bountiful. We loved it...we ate our food outdoors on the front patio. As we finished, I realized the dessert we ordered was not in our bag. However, in checking the receipt it was not charged to us either. We decided to skip it this time.

Yelp
My love for Caputos rubs deep! They have amazing imported sauces, pastas, oils, chocolates, fresh made bread and meats and cheeses. They also have made to order sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There's also an assortment of salads and desserts. My absolute favorite sandwich is the "Old School" with sausage, Genoa salami, capocollo, cacio de Roma cheese, lettuce, tomato, roasted red pepper spread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar on a soft French bread. This is a smaller Caputo's compared to their other locations but it still a great store that is full of delicious food! The store is clean and inviting and the employees are very friendly and helpful. The only parking is street parking near the store. There also is a small patio to sit on and enjoy your goodies from the store.

Yelp
Not gonna lie this was not the 1st choice for supper last night but Mezza was jammed so we hopped in here. I ordered their Caputo Sandwich and Mo did their Pastrami (pic not included so shame on me). My sandwich was delicious as the bread was super fresh and the giardinera on the side helped a ton! I love the outdoor and indoor eating options along with a nice selection of cheeses, crackers, sauces, pastas and various items to make cocktails. A fountain dispenser in the back is appreciated as well! There are only a few tables inside but while we were there, a lot of take out ordered were happening. We def would come back and revisit this hip neighborhood.

Yelp
I'm on a mission to try every sandwich that Caputo's has. Thus far: muffuletta 5/5 LOVE the salty + briny with a hint of sweetness from whatever sauce they put on this. Pastrami 5/5 the mustard was *almost* too strong for me which I found very exciting. Old school 2/5 the ratio of bread to toppings was a bit too high and the tomato was underripe and off-putting. Meatball sub 4/5 very tasty flavors, moochies is just a little better in my book. The layout doesn't make a ton of sense, but with a competent cashier you can get by. Also fun to shop all the little goodies in the store. I'll be back for the rest!

Yelp
This a great local market. The sandwiches are fresh and delicious. The market side has some nice bouquet items. Their selection of bitter is excellent. If you are a local or just passing through. Do yourself a favor and stop in.

Donna R.

Yelp
Wonderful service and great food. Also great place to buy the items to help you make wonderful food.

Yelp
Small cute deli with a lot of choices of meats and cheese to try from, i ordered the fior di latte, the mozzarella was amazing and i regret not getting the full sandwich instead. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area, and the neighborhood and vibe is perfect. Also great variety of drinks and small Italian market.

Emma F.

Yelp
Free cheese samples. Variety of chocolates to try. Lots of seating. Great customer service

Craig D.

Yelp
I got food born illness from there sandwhich and it tasted like crap. It was suppposed to be the caputos Italian sandwhich but it tasted like garbage and several hours later I was tossing my cookies. Since Mr. Caputo died, they have changed and the place on 15th seems to not be interestead in older folks.

Ellen C.

Yelp
I could drink a quart of the minestrone broth! Every worker was extremely friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Wonderful little slice of the Old Country!! And absolutely delightful staff. Food, service and ambiance are exactly what the food doctor ordered!
google avatar

Yelp
I would highly recommend this place. It's located in a spot that is street parking-friendly area. I feel that it has better access than the downtown location. The hot pastrami is a filling sandwich that reminds me of a classic New York style sandwich. I could easily see someone splitting it for a half-size portion as a meal. The meat is so well-cooked that it just melts in your mouth. I'm not sure what seasoning they use, but it gives the meat a really good flavor. There is indoor and outdoor seating in the patio area, which is great when it's spring/summer weather. I would 100% come back!

Yelp
Had been really excited to try this place, as I haven't found a go to sandwich spot since leaving the holy grail of sandwiches in Chicago, JP graziano. For starters, my interactions with the individual taking my order didn't give me warm and fuzzies... but hey, we all have bad days. I ordered the mozzarella ,basil, lettuce and tomato sandwich. Let's just say it was a lot of bread and not a whole lot of taste. It was covered in far too much iceberg lettuce , approx 1.5 pieces of basil and little to no balsamic. It was just bland! It's a great spot to sit outside on a sunny day, but maybe with a different sandwich next time around.
google avatar

Haylee A.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, where has this place been all my life! The best selection of cheese, jam, bread, chocolate and basically anything your little foodie heart could live for. The dark chocolate salted cookies are bliss.

R S.

Yelp
I was looking forward to trying this place as we were visiting from out of state on Mother's Day weekend. I was disappointed with my Turkey sandwich because it was sloppily made and was not wrapped properly. Also, it had Horseradish Mayo when the menu did not specify this type of mayo nor did I order it. Each bite had an overwhelming taste of Horseradish, especially since they were very generous with the amount of Mayo (more than I would have liked). There was too much chit chat going on behind the counter and it may have distracted whoever made my sandwich. When my order was ready, the young woman popped my order on the counter and said nothing to me when I picked up my sandwich. A "Thank You" would be nice for someone who just purchased from your store.
google avatar

Constantine J.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised with this spot. Went to check it out for their breakfast sandwiches! We were able to order on the phone and they had it ready for us to pick up upon arrival. They have a great outdoor eating space right on 15th. The inside of the market was pretty amazing, the meats, the pastas, the sauces, everything looked amazing!! While we came for the sandwiches, will definitely be coming back for some shopping and more exploring! I got the Italian SEC, it was good, a tad plain. I will be trying the other sandwiches next time.

Yelp
Caputo's is fantastic. Always pleased with our sandwiches. They have a ton of delicatessen and specialty items available. The outdoor patio is our favorite place to eat after taking the dog on a walk.

Yelp
I totally went here thinking I was headed to a completely different deli I'd been to before. It was a happy accident. I was craving an Italian deli sandwich and this place delivered. I ordered the Caputo of course and while it was being made I browsed the snacks and drinks for sale in the store section. I found some fun ones! I'd actually seen the sparkling wine chips on social media one day and wanted to try. They're pretty tasty. The bitters and soda drink was a fave. The fig salami tasted good but was very sweet. The sandwich hit the spot and was exactly what I was craving that day. I think the deli I intended to go to has bigger sandwiches at a comparable price, but I loved Caputo's for my first time!
google avatar

Yelp
Wanted a good sandwich, but being vegetarian that can be hard. Caputo's has one of my all time favorite sandwiches though that solves this need. The roasted reds is simple and so flavorful and just everything you want a sandwich to be. The bread is soft, the roasted sweet red peppers are the perfect topping. I could go on and on about how much I love this sandwich. We also got the fior di latte, which I was told was also delicious. Forever my go to sandwich in Salt Lake City. I also love being able to by some really good specialty items.

Yelp
I hate that I am posting this review because since moving back to Utah I have craved this place. I was sadly disappointed. I just waited 45 minutes for two sandwiches which normally I don't care about if it is quality. The sandwich I was give was a joke. See below. Sorry caputo's not even the help wanted sign will get you off the hook for this. Hope this helps address what I experienced: 1.The amount of butter or oil on the bun was excessive to the point of dripping off. it was also bordering on burnt 2. The meat was over cooked, almost jerky like 3. If you look close at my picture you will find all the cheese melted to the wrapper. And almost none on the sandwich. 4. 3-1/2 shriveled little onions 5. Fried egg was ok I can't remember if there was supposed to be some sauces on it but it was bone dry except for the grease. I sincerely hope this helps. I have been a loyal customer of your holiday location for years.
google avatar

Japanese J.

Yelp
CapuNo's As my husband and I walked in we were not greeted or welcomed into the store. Instead we were ignored like a person trying to talk to you about your car's extended warranty. I ordered THE CAPUTO which was highly disappointing. Paying $10.99 for a Subway cold cuts quality deli sandwich? Just is wrong in my opinion. No seasonings or standout flavors that would entice me to return. The redhead and the cashier were the silver lining in this entire storm I mean store. They both were nice, smiled, and very helpful Ps HOT PASTRAMI was delicious!
google avatar

Nicholas E.

Yelp
I ordered a $7 half sandwich and was given a quarter sized sandwich. Total rip-off. $10 out the door with tip and had to go buy another meal. I used to frequent this location a couple of years ago, seems to have lost it's magic.

Fred G.

Yelp
Total disappointment, $80 for five sandwiches, two of which burnt to a crisp... pretty hard not to notice you are serving crap. Other Caputo's are top notch, won't be back to this location ever.

Captain E.

Yelp
Very very good. Visiting slc and wanted some lunch with the family after the zoo. They had great options for the kids and the sandwiches were on point.
google avatar

Masha V.

Yelp
Love Caputos, they source really great products and have a nice breakfast and lunch sandwich selection, as well as wines and beer. My only beef is with the staff here, many are younger kids who don't know the concept of good customer interaction, customer service and properly greeting a customer. The wait time is absurd... They need help
google avatar

Samuel C.

Yelp
I'm a college student who was looking for some different food. I heard this place was pretty good so I grabbed a sandwich. The bread is good and the quality of the ingredients is also good. The only problems is that the prices in the store are inflated from what I would consider to be a good deal. They charged $11 for a petty small sub and the other things in the store are very pricy, for me at least.
google avatar

Lacey T.

Yelp
First off, I adore all Caputo's locations. What's not to love? It's pretty much all of my favorite things in one place: specialty chocolate, nougat, and other treats, all sorts of salts, artisan condiments like mustard, olive oil, and vinegars, crazy sounding bitters and drink mixers you never even knew existed, cheeses of all sorts, glorious cured meats, fresh breads from local bakeries, and basically any fancy food you could desire, with a focus on Italian goods. This one is much smaller than both the downtown and Holladay shops, but I won't hold that against them. They still have a decent selection of products, just less variety. I always recommend checking their small sale section whenever you stop by. I stock up on my chocolate there before shopping the regular priced stuff. I haven't dined in too often, and never at this location, but what I have tried of their sandwiches and other deli offerings has always been delicious. I love their antipasto salad (a mix of leftover cheeses and salamis with some pickled vegetables and olive oil). Indoor seating here is kind of meh, but outdoors is fun, as it affords a view of the charming 15th and 15th area. On my most recent visit I picked up five chocolate bars (not joking), a few of their Chocolatier Bleu chocolates (fig and chabrin, cantaloupe and bacon, honey and parmesan, and Double Skull Taleggio & wine), and red pepper vinegar. I also had some prosciutto sliced, and they took the time to wrap it carefully (and really quite attractively, which seems inconsequential, but did add to my enjoyment). Customer service is pretty good here. Of all the locations it is best at Holladay. They are so dang friendly there! At this one they mostly just left me to my own devices. No one greeted me, and that's okay, although I do appreciate it when employees make a point of saying, "Hi." When I requested assistance they were quick to help, though, and that's really all I ask. There is a bit of parking available along the street, and a surprising amount behind the little group of shops. You might struggle to find a spot during meal or busy times, but I've never experienced an issue.
google avatar

Ray S.

Yelp
We hadn't been to Caputo's in a while and wanted to check out the location on 15th E. Sadly we were very disappointed. One of us got a pasta salad and the pasta was overcooked and mushy. Another one of us got a turkey sandwich and it was flavorless and mostly bread. It also didn't help that the service was perfunctory at best. Oh well live and learn I guess we won't return.
google avatar

Kristin K.

Yelp
I have continued to come here and everything has been perfect! Their patio is gorgeous, they're very organized, and the food is delicious! Great place to grab a picnic lunch and walk over to the park.
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
One of my favorite sandwich places in Salt Lake! They have great sandwich options, cold and hot. My favorite item is the Caputo. Great tasting with a touch of olive oil on fresh bread. They also do put out samples of their bread plus different type of oils for tasting. But that was pre covid. Their shop is pretty cute but pricey things. I have never bought things from their shop so I can't really judge the quality of their stuff.
google avatar

Belen A.

Yelp
caputo's on 15th is great! i decided to try it on my lunch break last week and i haven't stopped going back! service is great, food is amazing, and you are able to browse and shop while you wait for your food to be ready. they have new foods coming out every so often and they'll have samples for you to tru it. there's an indoor seating area as well as outdoor with heating so you don't have to worry about being cold while you eat. give them a try!
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
First, the food is quite good, and they have an interesting and varied assortment of quality foods for the epicure. However, The system used for managing customers simply isn't working. Every time I have gone to the store during the expected lunch rush, there are three separate waits: first is placing the order, second is waiting for the food to be prepared, and third is waiting to pay. Commonly, no one is at the cash register, so there's another 10 minute wait just to pay. On today's visit, per usual, someone waiting in line to pay got fed up and went and dragged someone from behind the counter to come take care of the growing line... Moreover, it seems everyone wonders if there's a line or not, where it starts and stops, etc., so there's a fundamental problem with traffic flows.... In the aggregate, you can spend 35 or 40 minutes from order to receiving your food and being able to eat it. Coming away irritated every time I try to eat there just keeps me away. I hope the owner or manager will take note. Otherwise this would be such a wonderful neighborhood gem.

Yelp
A pretty good breakfast sandwich overall. I don't seem to know (for some reason) of many really good takeout breakfast places. I've had a few of their normal sandwiches which are pretty good, I would come back and try this again. Bacon cheese egg, some token salad bits added to it - I feel good about ordering thisbreakfast sandwich!

Yelp
I love italian meats and love Italian sandwiches. My wife and I stopped here to pick up some sandwiches to take with us as we drove up Emigration Canyon and had a picnic at Little Dell. I got The Caputo and I was pretty under impressed with the flavors of my sandwich. Just kind of dull, which is the opposite of what I'd expect on any italian sandwich, let alone one from a well regarded Italian Deli that put their name on the sandwich. There were a few employees who specifically apologized because a few of the other employees were new, and I know it was a new employee who made our order, so maybe they just didn't make the sandwich right. If i'm near a Caputo's and hungry I'll give them another shot and update my review if my opinion changes.

Sam L.

Yelp
Service was awful took them 40 Minutes to make a meatball sandwich which they messed up. Went back and they hardly through the meatball sandwich together sloppily, it all fell apart I ended up just throwing it out and going to the grocery store to make my own food. I used to enjoy this place but as of lately it seems like the customer service has dropped off a considerable amount. If I were you I would go to Granato's for a better experience with similar food.

Greer M.

Yelp
Food is great! But darn that ginger kid with the long hair is a jerk So much that it caused me to write my first Yelp review! Don't fire him but please just be nice

Yelp
I love Caputo's! Their selection of salami and prosciutto can't be beat. And their prices are affordable for the quantity that I usually get (0.25-0.5 lb). Feel free to ask for a sample, they're happy to give you one! I'm a sucker for fresh mozzarella. This particular location has "domestic mozzarella" as opposed to house-made (as the location on Broadway does), but I think I like this one better! The mozzarella is juicy and flavorful, and is definitely best at room temperature. I seriously eat it just with a knife and fork. If you're not a mozzarella purist, it's also great with a simple olive oil, garlic, and balsamic marinade. In addition to great deli options, the service is always friendly and professional. Staff are always willing and able to give recommendations, which I find extremely helpful when wanting to try something new. Give Caputo's a try, you won't be disappointed.
