We just had a very similar experience to another reviewer at this shop. We walked quietly into the shop (me, my toddler, husband, grandma), and as we opened the door, two clerks glanced up once, no smile, and then proceeded to ignore us. One of the ladies scowled at us the entire time, like we didn’t belong in her store or something (we live in the neighbourhood and were there looking for a birthday present for my daughter). As we were browsing, she was doing inventory and acted annoyed, as if we were in her way. I finally asked the nonscowling lady to help us get an item so we could buy it, and then we finally got some polite service (at least from one person). The other lady continued to scowl the entire time, even as we were paying. There are loads of lovely children’s boutiques in the area, and if you’re going to charge the such prices, then the service should be at minimum, polite. This experience put me off Caramel forever. I’ll go to Bonpoint or La Coqueta next time. I gave one extra star for the lady who didn’t scowl at us and finally helped.

The best, in every possible way - clothes and the people who work there!

The most charming high end kids boutique. Gorgeous and very high quality kids clothes and accessories. I particularly love the Italian childrens shoes with artisan quality and beautiful craftsmanship. Price is intimidating but it is a great place to shop for kids clothes during the sale. Very sweet and delightful decor. Don't forget to check out the vintage toys downstairs.

Last time I was here with my 4 year old daughter in February, the clerk (italian??) cussed under her breath during the visit, and made me and my daughter feel as if we were taking her time up by being in the store with the rudeness we experienced just asking about certain items. Haven't had such an invalidating experience before at what should be a safe and high standard place. Had to have a discussion about why the "lady at the store treats us different." Won't be taking my kids anywhere else where they may feel racially antagonized, thank you.

Yelp
Yet another boutique for children in Notting Hill... but this one has real everyday appeal. I like the colourfulness and casualness of the clothes... they're so cheery, it seems like exactly the sort of things you would dress your child in M-F and send them off to the playground. There's just a lot of fun lightheartedness to the individual pieces - many that simply pop with vibrant colour and playful design - lots of mix and match options that are no doubt meant to be kid-pleasing. The prices here also seem less than some of the other child-targeted shops in the area. If I were actually dressing kids on a regular basis (instead of just buying the occasional gift) this would definitely be my first stop for my would-be children when shopping in the Notting Hill district.

Yelp
I immediately liked the looks of Caramel. The clothes are playful and colorful when the common look for the boutique children's clothes seems to be white white and white. This one is different. Clothes for babies and kinds up to 12 years, individual and extraordinary designs and as said, with colors! This shop is more down to earth and casual with fun mixed interior. Friendly and easily accessible store with always smiling staff, I am a fan.
