Carana Beach Hotel

Very pretty resort and on the most beautiful beach in the north. The manger Marco was very friendly and helpful. Full of local knowledge.|We stayed in chalet 24. Lovely room. Private terrace. Not overlooked by anyone. |The breakfasts were amazing. Loads of choice. |We stayed 4 nights. 1st night was a buffet. Then 3 nights of different set menus 4 courses. All lovely food. We received outstanding service. I ordered what I thought was a safe pudding. But Lahiru kindly pointed out it contained hazelnuts. Avoiding an allergic reaction. Excellent service. |The head chef came and spoke to us to see if everything had been ok on one evening and one breakfast. Nice to see who’s been making all the lovely food. |Bandaran in the bar is so friendly and great memory! |The beach was stunning. Wavy. But calm once over the shore waves. No seaweed. Nice pool. Lovely sunbeds. Location - I would suggest a car. We hired one for 3 days and this was perfect.

We have just returned from a wonderful 3 week stay at Carana Beach Hotel. Everything about this property exceeded our expectations. Set in front of a small stunning beach, this boutique property is perfect for a 'get away from it all' holiday. It's has a collection of individual chalets set amongst beautiful tropical gardens, a charming pool area with beach bar with a dining room above, commanding stunning views. We stayed in chalet 27, a lovely room with large outside deck and plunge pool. It was serviced twice a day to a very high standard. What really stands out at Carana Beach is the very high levels of service from the lovely staff. I've been travelling the world for over 60 years and I can honestly say all the staff here, without exception, rank along with the very best I have experienced, from the gardening staff all the way up to senior management. A special mention must go to Mercia at Guest Relations, who greets you on arrival and ensures your every need is met during your stay, and also to Sean, Cindy, Paboda, Rajid, Marcus and last, but by no means least, Luciana, who looked after us so very well at every breakfast, and Tabi, who looked after us at dinner. This is a fabulous hotel in a stunning location. The rooms are stylish, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and have the most amazing view. The staff are welcoming and so helpful. The food is delicious. If you want a truly relaxing break, I would highly recommend.

We were here for our honeymoon. We loved it and will certainly come back. At reception Vera and her team greeted us. Check in was very easy and we received fresh towels and drinks. we felt very welcomed. Our room was always clean and comfortable! At the Bar the drinks are great and very friendly. All the staff is very respectful and friendly. The food was excellent. Each night is a different menu or a theme. The breakfast buffet is very rich. The fresh fruits and juices, waffles, crepes, fresh pastries, eggs and more!! Always delicious. We loved the food of chef Marcus! The beach and pool facilities are also nice! People staying there are also friendly and atmosphere is nice.

We were met by wonderfully friendly front of house staff. Who greeted us with lovely beaming smiles. |The room was beautiful with an amazing sea view and a veranda to enjoy sunrise.|The room was well equipped including a small fridge and superb air conditioning and quiet ceiling fan. We stayed on a HB basis and the breakfasts were very good with a buffet style choice and an option for eggs, pancakes or omelettes freshly cooked. The first evening meal was excellent but we were disappointed with what was advertised on our 2nd evening as a Beef BBQ which was actually a buffet style meal. Marco ( the hotel manager) and the chef were kind enough to offer |us a freshly cooked |steak which was |very good and much appreciated.|The Beach is stunning and there is excellent snorkelling off the rocks. A beautiful swimming pool and pool bar offers a perfect day.|It’s very quiet and if you want any shops or bars etc you need to either hire car or get a taxi as there is nothing in walking distance . We decided to catch the local bus into Beau Vallon ( R150 each ) which was quite an experience !! But we wanted to hit to a specific shop called @Koral Souvenirs ( highly recommend for beautiful locally made art & designs. |We had a late flight and we were able to stay at the hotel enjoy the pool / beach and offered a shower etc before departing which again was greatly appreciated. It is a beautiful hotel with wonderfully friendly staff and a stunning location!

We booked our honeymoon/birthday-trip to this hotel, Carana Beach, from 6-23 November.|When we arrived the staff was very welcoming and nice. We stayed in chalet nr.8 with the pool on the deck. |The chalet was very nice, really comfortable firm bed, big bathroom and a very nice view, with no insight from other rooms.|We got a voucher for two free drinks, a romantic dinner for two and a 20 % off SPA treatment as a gift from the hotel.|Also we got a personal driver for one day, who showed us around the island. This was a really nice experience.||I do not think they are used to people that stay this long stretch of time, and they came up with ideas and proposals on things for us to do and see.||The resturant had a very nice chef named Marcus. He checked up on us and even gave us a rum-tasting with his local infused rum.|They serve different set menues some of the days of the week, and buffet the other days.|Lots of nice different foods.|Breakfast was good also, could maybe change it up a litle bit with different things to put on the bread for example.||There are some wear and tear around both room, resturant and pool area - but I would guess this is normal in this type of climate.|The pool in the chalet was very nice to have, but it would be perfect with one more step into the water. It was a little high for me with a bad back, but no big issue.||All in all I want to recomed this hotel and give the manager Marco and his staff the credit they deserves for running a great place for holiday and relaxation!|Marco seems like a good manager and a very nice person that took time out of his day to make sure we had a awesome stay.||And also to our cleaner Ponsey - you rock!

Let us start with reception: Vera and her team were so nice and welcoming! We felt from the first minute very good. At the Bar, Pabluda (I am not sure about the spelling) amazed us with his cocktails and big smile! Chef Marcus and his team (Luciana, Regina and the others) spoiled us with delicious food and great service! Breakfast was dreamy and nothing was missing. We loved the orange juice, pastries and the fresh fruit especially! Waffles were delicious as well! The dinner had a big variety. Creole menu got us very excited. Rooms were always spotless clean! Beach and pool facilities are great! The rooms are cleaned twice in a day. The personal is always smiling, ready and happy to help. We felt us very welcomed from the first instant until the end. We will certainly come back to Carana Beach! We recommend Carana Beach. Thank you for your great hospitality!
