The cooking has me salivating just writing this. Perfect amount of food and such fresh ingredients at that. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend this establishment. The banquet is always a good choice. Photo does not do this food justice.

Lunch on a Saturday. Very friendly staff. Advised mussels were best in town, and they were very good but had a bit of a kick.

This place is so good! I loved the platter for two everything was perfect, and the apple tea was delicious. Service was great and loved the decor. So many try hard restaurants in Brisbane trying to be fancy and not hitting the mark and this place I would recommend over all of them. Can't wait to return.

We dined at this Turkish restaurant on Friday night, having made reservations beforehand. Our table was set and ready upon our arrival, courtesy of the incredibly friendly staff. However, the restaurant was so noisy, making it hard for us to converse, we could barely hear each other. There was also a notable wait for our meals, which, while satisfactory, didn't particularly stand out in flavor. Apart from the noise, the setting was cozy and welcoming. Overall, a mixed experience with some room for improvement.

Saturday night dinner. Couldn’t be happier. Party of five. Ordered two platters. Enormous amount of food. You get to try so many flavors. For dessert we shared baklava and crème brûlée. OMG. For a hot drink we ordered sahlep that was very interesting. All an all amazing night had by all.

Really nice ambiance, food was great, we ordered the sublime platter for 2 ( portions were perfect), meat was so well cooked, good service. And I recommend their limonade (fresh and not too sweet!)

A very delicious meal with my family of 4. We had a variety of dishes and they were all authentic and full of wonderful flavours. I had the steak and it was perfectly prepared. The room was beautiful with a real flare from another land. Great service. We stayed in West End and it would be a nice walk but probably 20 minutes, we drove on this occasion, parking was easy.

We tired lots of entree and main options as you can see from the photos. All of them were great. Specially the feta bread. Very happy with everything.

Yelp
I've been to Caravanserai three times now, the first of which was by choice, the second and third for friends' birthday celebrations. The first time, we decided to go all out. Between four us we shared the Ottoman Meze which has all the good things you want from Turkish/Middle Eastern dining: haloumi, pesto, turkish bread and more. For the mains we ordered four dishes to share: the Atlantic salmon, the chicken breast, the lamb shank and the eye fillet. All were good hearty meals, but I felt they were lacking connection to the theme of the restaurant. For dessert we had a selection of Turkish sweets (if I weren't a savoury fiend, the dessert may have been a redeeming factor). On my second visit to Caravanserai, I thought I'd try another approach and order a Traditional Main. I chose the Kofta imagining greasy, herby balls of lamb like those I tasted in Turkey. What I got were fairly tasteless meatballs (maybe not even lamb), served on plain white rice with a tomato sauce, more Italian in flavour than Turkish. Round three I decided to leave behind my expectations of real Turkish food and just order the eye filet. It was a satisfying meal, and for $34.50, a good cut of meat. However, my friend sitting next to me proved that you can order well at Caravanserai and have a more authentic Turkish meal than what I did for less money. She ordered two starters that ended up being more than enough for her: a plate of haloumi with goats cheese and fig jam and a fatoush salad. If I had to go again, this is definitely what I'd order, however, I think three visits to Caravanserai is enough for me! Note: open until "late" every night except Monday, which in Brisbane, usually means 9 or 10pm.

Yelp
eclectic mix of silk road favorites... this noisy, aromatic gem offers the most delicious treats from the open kitchen the pride and pillowy and soft with humus and babagounosh. The Meze is a mix of favorites, sweet carrot dip, tabouli, skewers and crunchy asparagus. crispy botek filled with spinach and feta or a charred eggplant with fennel and goats cheese

Yelp
We ordered take away to have in Highgate Hill Park up the road. The wonderful lady serving us offered us restaurant cutlery as they did not have take away cutlery. The she said, she would provide crockery to improve our eating experience which we gladly accepted. So as we were waiting outside for our order, the same lady came out, offered us a table to sit at and then bought out cold water for us. The food was exceptional and the overall experience - outstanding. And our Canadian visitor was blown away by the quality of the service and the food. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience.

Yelp
I'll say this much. If there's any general consensus on Caravanserai, it's that it's inconsistent. I've had some of the most swoon worthy meals here, and some that are really average. When it's good, it's good enough to keep you coming back, and when it's bad, you'll still remember the good times so vividly that you'll come back and try for something better next time. It's certainly an atmospheric restaurant- I find that most Turkish restaurants are. You can choose to either sit outside or inside in the dark wooden, cushioned den. It's definitely sets a vibe for diners and is quite comfortable. What my friends and I did on one of the better nights that I went here was order three deluxe main meals and share them around. The atlantic salmon was HAMAZING. Perfectly cooked seasoned with exquisitely matched accompaniments. The Sultan's Steak, while not particularly adventurous, is a mature and elegant dish. For our third meal, we chose a vegetarian option: the Sebze. It's essentially a roast vegetable stack. It probably wasn't the most impressive of the three, but it was still very flavoursome and satisfying. You do have to order wisely, that's true. If you do, you'll swoon and moan about how divine your meal was. If you don't order wisely, well, you might be somewhat disappointed. Bring around $50 to dinner, and make sure to book ahead.

Yelp
I've had several dishes from this restaurant and they were all fantastic. The chicken skewers were perfectly charred and seasoned and the sauce was full of bright flavourful acid. The meatballs served with salad were amazingly tender and rich and the vegetarian dishes were also great. I especially liked their grilled vegetables with halloumi cheese. However, the best part of the dining experience was the "Meze" platters of dips, spreads, and small bites; they are just to die for and there is both a meat and vegetarian version to please everyone's pallets. The portions for several of the main dishes were pretty big, so if you order a meze or two for the table, it might be best to split your main dish with a dining partner. The only downside to this restaurant was the noise factor; it is incredibly loud. They also have a large square table which seats about 4 people per side. This is the worst set up for conversations as the large space in the middle makes it impossible to talk across the table. So basically you can only talk to the person directly sitting next to you. If you have a large party, I suggest that when you make a reservation, specifically state that you do not want the large square table by the windows.

Yelp
Beautiful, friendly, happy dinner for all. We dropped in here for a friends birthday and it was just so lovely. The food was fresh, filling and there was so much of it. They wrangled up a delicious dinner for me - amazing. And there is halloumi - happiness.

Yelp
I went there last night with a couple friends and ordered the Shish Kebap (chicken skewers) and it was amazing! loved it - tasted great with their sauce and quinoa tabouleh. 10/10 The decoration is really lovely with a fab vibe and friendly staff - trendy little spot in a good location. The place is not so well lit - couldn't see the menu properly or my food for that matter. Another thing I do recommend them to do is to install air con or fans as it was getting pretty hot in there and I can imagine during the summer it would be scorching. I'd definitely go here again and try some of the other platters.

Yelp
Came here for a work Christmas dinner, the buffet spread had been pre-booked and came out with impeccable timing. Other a la carte orders seemed to come out pretty well timed as well. Might I say that if I wasn't a Turkish cuisine fan previously, I have been converted. The spread that came out was not only hot and fresh, but it was very succulent, tasty and just plain yummy. The braised lamb was quite tender, the beef was super tender and the salads with cous cous were even better (i'm usually not a huge fan). Speaking from my experience with 'the spread' we had, and having looked around, this place does very well for itself. It would be advisable to book a table as Fridays and Saturdays get really packed... being not a huge restaurant it does fill up easily and there are lots of people waiting and nowhere to park but 1-2kms down the next street. Definetely worth a try if you're in the area.

Yelp
This place is awesome, it is great to see good food and atmosphere. Our table had the Feta Pide, Kofta & Kuzu which where really good. I got their about 6pm and it piled up at 7pm. We'd finished eating at 8:30pm. I did think it was a bit rude how she did say that we'd need to be out by 9pm, but it really wasn't an issue. Very good as it's easy to get to, but for the novice, parking has to be creative.

Yelp
We booked a table for 3 people and ended up having an extra come along, this was no problem when arriving which was great. Service was 100% with water put on the table as soon as we sat down, as well as being topped up throughout the night. Food was scrumptious, and the perfect serving. It was super busy so we didn't mind waiting. Well worth it! Great atmosphere and pretty lights etc around, byo also which is fantastic, lots of easy accessible street parking too which won us over. As West End is usually a nuisance for parking. Will definitely be returning in the near future (-:

Yelp
The Tuesday set menu (now $33) remains an excellent deal and a great way to enjoy a no-fuss meal with a group of friends. Expect a wide variety of flavors along with an easy cheque to split at the end. Alcohol is BYO with a $3/person served fee. A bottle shop across the street makes it easy to pick up some wine for dinner at this restaurant.

Yelp
First timer tonight, a bday celebration with a banquet for $50 a head. Given the amazing tastes, quality and quantity, combined with the "oh so West End" feel of the place, this place is definitely worth a repeat!

Yelp
When we arrived the atmosphere was nice and the staff were very helpful. I ordered an entre of the cornbread for me and my partner to share, emphasis on the share part... It was too large for one person to eat alone but was rather nice. For Mains we had a few choices to choose from but were slightly dissapointed as they were rather average food that we had received, nothing about it tasted Turkish but maybe that's just us. Were always open to trying new things and it was still nice flavours.

Yelp
Modern Turkish restaurant with great food, awesome decor and good service. We tend to stick to the banquets as we like the large selection of food and ease of ordering. Cheap prices and BYO wine and beer helps keep the costs down for a night out.

Yelp
This might have been our best meal in Brisbane. Oozing with atmosphere. This restaurant appears to be in an older English style home that is opened up front and back. We got there at 6:30 pm and there were a few people there but by 7:30 it was packed. Everyone was friendly and many seemed to know one another. The food is tasty and well presented. The staff were friendly and courteous. I had Turkish meat balls. My family had chicken skewers. The restaurant is BYO. I would go back next time I'm in Brisbane and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in great food in a warm friendly atmosphere.

Yelp
We only ordered the meze plates and some starters to share. These were really, really delicious and reasonably priced. We skipped the mains because they didn't inspire much enthusiasm and seemed unnecessarily pricey. The desserts were a bit of a poor showing, the fig mousse was just gross and the baclava was nice but boring. A nice atmosphere but nothing extraordinary.
