Carbon Canyon Regional Park is such a gem! We had a fantastic time wandering the walking trails. We made it up to the top of the dam and toward the redwood grove—though it was closed due to Santa Ana winds (totally understandable, but we’ll be back to see it!). From there, we picked up the Carbon Canyon Creek Trail, which was so peaceful and enjoyable.
The January weather was sunny and just perfect for exploring. Some parts of the park are under construction, but honestly, it’s so well cared for that it didn’t bother us a bit. Parking is $5, and there’s plenty of space, so it was easy to get where we wanted to go.
What really stood out was how much the park offers! Picnic tables galore, playgrounds for the kids, tennis courts, walking trails, benches for breaks, water stations, and even signs that share fun facts about the plants around the park. It’s a great place to relax, play, and soak up some nature. We’re already planning to come back soon!
