Food, service and atmosphere were wonderful. I enjoyed my meal, the person I was with enjoyed hers as well. I had salmon, she had chicken. For dessert we shared a chocolate PB torte and I also got an espresso martini that was fantastic.

We hosted our annual meeting there this past Friday. Zach and Mary Beth went above and beyond to ensure everything went perfectly. Everyone raved how good the food was (it was delicious!) and how wonderful the space was. I highly recommend if you have a banquet event to host it at Carbones! It was a wonderful experience.

Recently went with a group of 6, service was great. Food and drinks all came out in a timely manner. The cocktails, entrees, and desserts were outstanding. The fried calamari app however was bland and rubbery but the peppers and sauces were good. We'll definitely be returning.

Came here for a small work post holiday gathering. Mary was our server and she was superb. Very attentive and made sure everyone had a full glass and made sure all our needs were met. The appetizers were delicious and a great variety. Dinner was excellent and great portions. Love that there's a separate room with it's own entrance for privacy. Highly recommend.

Every time I’ve gone to Carbone’s, it has been impeccable! Whether you’re at the bar or in the dining room, the service is always top notch with friendly and attentive staff. Atmosphere is warm and cozy. Their cocktails and wine list are fabulous and the food is phenomenal! You can immediately tell they strive to serve their guests with utmost care and regard to have a fantastic dining experience. Whether it’s for a special occasion or a casual outing, Carbone’s always delivers!

We came away with the understanding that Carbon Prime is about meat. And not so much with pasta. Stick with beef and pork and you will experience delight.

Such great service, food. Our rehearsal dinner was there last night, using a private room. And it was perfect! Buffet was awesome, food warm, appetizers were plenty, I could go on more, but, overall working with them was great, Mary Beth was warm, and helpful, and our evening was perfect

We sat at the bar, our drinks and food were amazing!! Great service!! Ribeye was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor!! Drinks were delicious!! Tuna tartare and chicken la cava have sooo much flavor!! Recommend to anyone and everyone!!!

I had dinner with colleagues here. We ordered so many appetizers I was maybe half full when my entree came. I loved the Eggplant fries and risotto potato croquettes, I would definitely get them again. My colleague and I ordered two entrees to share because we both wanted both. The steak was great, perfectly medium rare. We also got the truffle fries which were amazing. The scallops were super fresh. The risotto was alright. I'd definitely come back again. Staff was friendly, super nice ambience inside. Lots of parking outside.

Amazing service, our waitress was all smiles and extremely attentive. Water glass was constantly filled and she had a great amount of knowledge about the menu. I had the chicken picatta with polenta and broccoli ran, it was so good. The polenta could have been a dish by itself that I would order it was that good. Our table also got the ricotta potato croquettes and these were so flavorful. The calamari was crispy and tender. The bread they put on the table is super elevated. They have herbs and oil on them. So good. I had the Creme brulee for dessert and it was incredibly well done. This place is not cheap but everything I ate was incredible and everyone else at my table enjoyed their food as well. I would eat here again in a heart beat

Lucky the waitress was half-way walking away so I could ask her to come back. Waitress said replacement will be about 6 minutes. We waited. My dinner companion stated to eat. 20 minutes passed before waitress returned to the table for an update. This is unacceptable. She said she didn't know what was going on. We asked what did chefs say. She had no answer. She didn't apologize. To be fair, the waitress was polite. That said, she was oddly unaffected, unsympathetic and told us to hang on as if it were a fast food restaurant and we were waiting on fries. Moments later one of the owner's comes by the table. She apologies, and said it's almost ready. She didn't offer anything for the mistake - I had to broach compensation. She took the meal off and didn't charge for the sodas. Finally the steak arrived and I had to eat alone. My dinner companion also ate her entree alone too. It would have been nice had Carbones offered a salad or something so my companion didn't have to eat alone. What made this dinner at Carbones disastrous is less that it took so long and more so that Carbones did not seem to care much. Customer care is just not on Carbones ladder of priority. For their prices customers should expect better. Terrible dining experience. Subpar customer care. I'm sorry.

First impression was the amazing smoke roll outside! The use of real wood smoke is a big plus for me. Very clean and classy interior. Super nice wait staff in restaurant. I was very surprised to get blown off by the male bartender with a man-bun... open tab with $100 of drinks coming and he decided to not fill our order. We got what we wanted at our table. My huge pork chop was cooked to med as requested, And topped with bacon-onion jam!! the mashed potatoes and asparagus were delicious! And I closed out with crème brûlée! Winning!

Monday night specials! Carbones Prime is a fine dining intimate restaurant serving delicious and affordable meals at the beginning of the week! If you are like me and don't want to cook after work, I would recommend stopping here for their 3 course meal deal. For starters, you get to choose a house or ceaser salad. Your entree is 2 filet medallions with stuffed shrimp a side of mash potatoes and asparagus. And you also get their tasty tiramisu for dessert! Carbones offers a happy hour from 3-5pm with amazing cocktail options. I loved the blood orange martini! The service was exceptional, and they even had half off bottled wine. It's definitely my new Monday night spot!

This was my first time here due to having received a gift certificate. And I have to say we will definitely be back. The food was amazing. Our waiter AJ was Top Notch with an awesome personality. Between my group, we ordered a filet, a ribeye, the salmon and the seafood ravioli. Everything was cooked perfectly. They have an extensive wine list. We even ordered dessert, which we never do. The chocolate mousse and the cheesecake were delicious. This is a very high-end restaurant which reflects on the higher prices. As long as you come here knowing that in advance you won't be surprised.

Carbone's Prime shares a name with the now closed Hartford South End Italian restaurant that was many people's fav area Italian for Decades. In terms of vibe, I don't feel a connection between the two. Hartford was Old School Italian and you might see Mayor Mike eating lunch at the bar with area politicians business people, and Rocky Hill is going for a modern, upscale Italian Steak and Chop House feel. You can order high end steaks and chops, and pastas and dishes normally more associated with nice Italian Restaurants. Gabriel's in Westport would be a point of reference. My wife and I split the homemade ricotta spread as an app. The spread itself, with very creamy ricotta, honey and pistachios, was delicious. I didn't love the seasoning of the grilled bread pieces they served with it. For me, the flavors didn't work well enough together. I ordered a Bone in Pork Chop Milanese as my main, with a side of creamy polenta. I loved this dish. The pork chop was huge, tender, well breaded and fried and tasty. The grape tomatoes, arugula, mozzarella, balsamic squiggles and fresh parm were all on point. The grilled lemon for squeezing felt like a high end touch. This all looked great on the plate as well. My creamy polenta was well executed. My wife was not a big fan of her eggplant parm. I tried it and thought that it was just OK. You can go a variety of ways with the eggplant when making this dish. My favorite is when the eggplant is not over-cooked, but all the ingredients start to melt into each other. Probably more of an Old School approach. Carbone's went for a more distinctly layered feel, and the eggplant texture did not work for either of us. I would call it a bit too al dente. The atmosphere is very nice and fitting for an upscale Chop House. Our server was very kind and off the charts in terms of attentiveness. He was very concerned about the fact that we were not eating the eggplant parm and he offered to do something about it. We declined since there was nothing technically wrong with the dish, but we appreciated his willingness to address it. Overall, I would say this was a 4 Star experience, primarily because of the eggplant. It would not be surprising if we were up to 4.5 or 5 Stars when we next visit.

I have not been here for a long time but friends wanted to stop in after a concert. It was a little late and the bar was packed so we got a booth in the dining room. Good service, were greeted and seated and menued right away. Each ordered a cocktail, Negroni for me which was good but too much 'fruit salad' in the glass instead of a twist. A dozen oysters for two of us were fresh and plump but shell shards were a pain. The mignonette was really good. Couple of pizzas would fill us up. The Margarita was ordered with sausage [why?] but that's what they wanted. The other pizza I had never had and was good in flavor and ingredients: Poached Pear. Try it, you'll love it. However, as the the British would say both pizzas had 'soggy bottoms'! That was a downer. Our server ended up staying late as I guess we closed the place. He did a great job in not letting us know this and we realized it when we went out to our solo car in the parking lot.

We sat in the bar area. It's dimly lit and cozy, just what I like. I was pleased to see that there are many pescatarian options available. I went with the Lobster and Salmon ravioli. Delicious! I also ordered my favorite dirty martini with blue cheese olives. Another win! My husband had the Chicken Parm and enjoyed it. They also gave us bread to start. Love that. I did not get to check out the bathroom. Next time!

This is a great spot for a date night. The ambience is fancy. It's a place you dress nice to. The service is great. The servers are very on top of clearing plates and filling waters. The food came out really quickly as well. The food is amazing. My favorite is the whipped ricotta appetizer but we enjoyed everything we got. There's a wide variety of food and drink selections, mostly pasta and meat. They are also very accommodating to modifications. The dessert menu had a great selection of sweets. I also really like how they have rotating menus and specials based on the season. I can't wait to go back!

We went to Carbones Prime for dinner, and it was very yummy. My husband and I both had the filet mignon with gorgonzola butter and mashed potatoes and asparagus. Everything was cooked perfectly. We had a waffle sundae for dessert. A waffle with ice cream on top. OMG!!!! Delicious!! The restaurant was extremely busy, but the service was good. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. We will definitely be back.

Exceptional food and service!!! We've been here many times and never have had an "off" day. The food and service is always consistent!1 Very well run restaurant! You won't be disappointed!

I would give Carbone's Prime 3.5 stars. I used to live in Rocky Hill and this place opened about a year before we moved away. We had gone a couple times and we're never overwhelmed. The food is average. The bar area is fun and always bustling. The drinks are pretty good. Most recently I was there for an event my company hosted last week. There were about 40 of us total in a small room off to the side. There was 1 waiter and 1 waitress specifically for our room. They both seemed miserable to be there. They were bickering at one point. In addition - I don't think the female waitress smiled once. If the door wasn't closed (to the outside restaurant), it was so loud you could barely hear anything. It was a speaker program and we actually had to delay our presentations because they wouldn't allow the doors to remain closed during dinner service and you couldn't hear anything because the bar was super loud. They started with some cheese and crackers and crudités. The Caesar salad was way overdressed. The chicken piccata was not at all a traditional piccata. It was served with some toasted veggies that were actually pretty delicious but the juices from the peppers and onions soaked the bottom of the chicken and that's all I could taste. The tiramisu was actually one of best I've had. There were some leftovers from a few RSVPs who didn't show so I took an eggplant parm home. I had it for lunch today and it was actually delicious. Would go back again for an event later or if invited by friends but probably wouldn't seek it out or recommend myself.

I booked my reservation for 7:00 pm. I arrived at 6:55 and they were back up. People that came after us were getting seated sooner. We waited by the door till 7:20 and I went up to ask why we didn't have a table yet. The lady said that someone took my reservation under my name and she apologized. That made me upset because why wouldn't you state the full name if there's someone with the same name? We were seated within five minutes after I spoke with her. I love coming to Carbone but I strongly believe that a holiday like Valentine's Day makes the quality of the food and drinks mediocre. My husband's drink was watered down and filled with ice, we both order steak medium- His was very bloody and all of our food was lacking in seasoning. Shortly after we left my husbands stomach was upset and we both now have food poisoning. What a terrible experience and I don't think it was worth the amount of money that was spend for the service, quality, and experience overall. Very disappointed!

Carbone's Prime has become a regular spot for us when we dine alone as well as when we invite guests because of the excellent food and outstanding service. Food: the menu has a diverse selection of high quality items that span upscale Italian to upscale steakhouse....all executed well. The starters are worth mention...something for everyone but executed at a very high level...special call out to the tuna tartare...! Service: excellent attention and responsiveness from the wait staff...they know their menu and were always available during the meal. Also, sometimes overlooked in reviews, we found the host staff to be particularly welcoming and accommodating to us when they greeted us All in all, an excellent dining experience and highly recommended

Always a wonderful meal here. The chopped salad is amazing, the ricotta appetizer is a favorite and I love the lobster pasta as well. The veal parm I ordered was enormous and enough to feed 4 people! Love it here.

I can only speak to the happy hour at the bar as my few experiences here have only consisted of happy hour but they do a great job- omg the blood orange martini and Prime Cosmo are to die for- they do NOT skimp on the alcohol. 5 stars for the cocktails alone. For food we got a bit of everything on my recent visit (went for moms bday btw) and we started with a dozen oysters and some jumbo shrimp cocktail- delicious. Then we ordered the calamari (not a huge portion but it tasted great- spicy!) and the whipped ricotta which is a MUST! I could eat that ricotta on anything, everyday. YUM!! And the truffle fries (minus prosciutto) were soooooo great too. One of these days I'll return to try an actual meal But for now, when you want a nice more upscale happy hour- this is your spot

Came on a Wednesday night, table for 2. Our waiter was very attentive and kept our glasses filled but we had trouble understanding him, he was almost singing everything he was saying and it was a little awkward. I ordered 20 oz bone in ribeye, it was delicious and cooked to my liking. My SO's Veal parm and cavatelli had an excessive amount of red sauce. I believe this would have been very good if it wasn't drowning in sauce. Same with Cesar salad, had potential but drowned in dressing. We were given complimentary bread with onions, my boyfriend doesn't eat onions so we requested bread without onions. Upon receiving the bill, we were charged $2 extra for the bread. My steak was $65, charging extra to give bread without onions is absurd and had me doubt the integrity of the restaurant. -1 star for the overload of sauce and -1 star for penny pinching patrons. Clearly they needed the $2. Maybe it was an off night, I might go back but next time I'm not paying extra for different bread.

I have been twice to Carbone's Prime now and very unlike me--I have no pics to attach! That's wild. I think I was having such a fun time and enjoying the company that I really forgot to take pics. Twice! The first time I went, I had the Veal Saltimbocca- prosciutto di parma, fontina, fresh sage, sherry lemon butter, broccoli rabe and creamy polenta. I am a huge fan of this dish and it was great! The second time I went, we started with the Charcuterie Plate with prosciutto, hot soppressata, burrata, parmigiano-reggiano, artichoke & olive salad, local honeycomb and grilled bread. Oh, we loved that bread too!! My main meal was the Wagyu Burger with fontina, caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms, prime steak sauce and truffle fries. This was such a great burger! If I had to chose anything that I previously ordered, it would definietly be the burger! It really was so tasty and cooked perfectly. And the fries---yum!!! I definitely have to save room for the Pistachio Creme Brulee next time! Or the cannoli! It's a great spot- parking can be a bit full, but I think that's because it's so popular. Pro tip- definitely make a reservation ahead of time here.

I made a BIG mistake with this place. Me and my S/O decided to get dinner here on a Saturday night. Despite having made a reservation Saturday afternoon, we had to wait 2 hours!!!!!!!!!! Once we finally got in, the food was amazing! 1 star

Very pricey. Half the portions at double the price. My server was pleasant but forgetful. He apparently had too many tables to serve. The restaurant was very loud. A $280.00 bill for pasta dish, chicken parm and a small strip steak with drinks. Unless you need to feel special, spend your money at a local Italian restaurant

Slightly upscale Italian spot with a large bar section, table seating, and a covered outdoor section as well Have a solid menu comprised of classic Italian dishes and both classic and creative drinks I came for dinner, sat at the bar, and had a key lime martini and a short rib dish. The martini was phenomenal (I even got a second) and the shirt rib was solid. My only complaint was that the bartender took a really long time to take my order and to bring me the check Complimentary gelato if you check in on Yelp, but I didn't claim mine because I figured I'd had enough calories from my 2 martini's. Next time though...

Ate here while visiting family and we totally enjoyed the food and atmosphere as well as our waitress. Wine and our meals were presented beautifully and would definitely go here again when we next visit.

Went here for a birthday dinner. It was packed on a Saturday night; I recommend making a reservation if possible. That being said, my husband and I wound up sitting at the bar to eat. The bar area is large with plenty of seating. The service was friendly and fast. The filet mignon was amazing and cooked perfectly. Someone at the bar had ordered a brick oven pizza, it looked so good that my husband ordered one to go for the next day and he really enjoyed it .

I recently came here for a Friday date night with my fiancé. Although we made a reservation, we did have to wait about 15 minutes - the restaurant and bar was busy. We were seated at a table in the middle of the dining room, I was hoping for a booth but it was no biggie. The mood was set just right by the dim lighting. After looking over the drinks, I decided to start with the Apple Cider Margarita which I absolutely loved. For an app, we ordered the Chicken La Cava and we both really liked it. For my meal, I went with the Eggplant Parm and enjoyed it - the layers of eggplant and cheese were perfection. While eating our dinner I ordered another drink...Tito's Drunken Pumpkin. Unfortunately this drink was a miss for me - way too strong that I couldn't taste the pumpkin flavor at all. Instead of sending it back I just held my nose and chugged it. For dessert, we got the Butter Rum Cake and it was amazing! The cake was very soft, moist, and not overly sweet. Overall, I had a nice experience here and look forward to future visits.

Prime is one of those places that I will always return to. Happy Hour, quick bit, full dinner...I've done them all, and will keep on doing it. This time my friend and I stopped in for a light dinner, and as always had a great time. The melon and burrata appetizer was something out of this world! Perfect for hot summer days. Then we both went pizza route, and Carbone's has some great combinations of pizzas. My friend did chicken parm pizza and I had the mouthwatering Poached Pear pizza with truffle honey, gorgonzola cheese, crispy prosciutto. So so good! We finished the dinner off with a rich creme brule!

We got the absolute best pizza I've EVER had! Really! Came here after traveling all day and it was a half hour before they were closing for takeout. All I can say is I will be wishing for the next time I can drive through Connecticut to stop here again! Awesome! Ordered their wood fired Italian Bomb pizza and it was amazing! Overall, it looks like a really good Italian restaurant and the pizza pie we had was a MUST TRY!

Such a lovely place! We had a great experience here. Our waiter was perfect and the meal was amazing. We had the calamari which was great, the bread was and our meals were excellent. GET THE SHORT RIB.

We start a New Year's Eve off at Carbones prime in Rocky Hill Connecticut. It was quite the experience it superseded my expectations. I start it off with a drink called Nonino Bombino it was a Prosecco-based appetizer drink that did serve its purpose it was very good very light and put me in a fantastic mood for the rest of the night. We couldn't choose between appetizers so we got to we got 2. The steak eggrolls which did not disappoint. They were a tad bit greasy but they were so good you really could look past it. Very nice meat/cheese ratio and the aioli sauce was perfect. the next time I get them will ask for extra napkins to dab off some of the grease. We also had the butternut squash bruschetta which was tasty but the texture is not something that I am a fan of. There were hints of honey that pulled the flavor together. My main meal was the short rib which was very tender and very tasty especially when everything was eaten all together. It came with spinach and mashed sweet potatoes which were my absolute favorite! For dessert I shared a Oreo waffle sundae that came with vanilla and chocolate gelato topped with whip cream. I really enjoyed the waffle which I could have eaten alone! Excellent service and presentation. Staff wore mask and bathrooms were sparkling clean. I highly recommend.

I came for New Year's Eve, it was my first time here and I enjoyed the experience very much. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They give a complimentary focaccia bread but in my opinion it was way too salty. For appetizers we started off with the steak spring rolls and the butternut bruschetta. The steak spring rolls were very good, they had a great flavor, my only complaint was it was a little on the greasy side but tasted so good it didn't really bother me. As for the butternut bruschetta, the ricotta was nice and light and the elderflower honey gave it a nice sweet taste. The bruschetta was made so well with the slightly crunchy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside! I loved it! For my entrée I ordered the boneless short rib that came with the mashed bourbon sweet potatoes and spinach. The sweet potatoes were to die for! They were delicious! As for the short rib it was very tender and they gave a huge portion, however it did not have much flavor. I tried to ask for more aus jus thinking it would help but it didn't unfortunately. They got the cooking down now if they can fix the flavor that dish would be top notch! Lastly for dessert I had the waffle sundae with gelato. I was very pleased. The waffle only had a nice sugary crunch on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. I will definitely be back here and recommend it to anyone in the area.

I usually don't leave negative reviews. I just don't say anything, but I feel I have to warn people trying to have a nice dinner. Do not come here if you are looking for a nice, authentic meal. Their sauce is very subpar and their steaks? Underwhelming. I have been here several times. I was never blown away, but this last time takes the cake. I ordered a rib eye. I have rib eye steak a lot. I mean a lot a lot. It's one of my favorite foods. When it came out it was cooked just to my liking, but I could tell it was a ny strip. I took a bite and was further convinced. I sent a picture to my father who is the best Italian chef and I'm not just saying that cause he's my dad. He truly is. Owned several restaurants, the whole nine. He said it was a ny strip. I was not going to send it back, just happily eat it and share it with my seven year old who could care less what type of steak it was. But I was with friends who knew I was not happy and told the waiter she won't eat this. So the waiter kindly said we can make you a new steak. I tried to say it was fine whatever but my friends insisted that I get a rib eye since that's what I was paying good money for. The last straw for me was when the chef came out of the kitchen to show me a rib eye and proceed to explain what a rib eye looks like "see here this is the round marbling" at that point there could be nooo going back. I told the chef I was all set didn't need a steak. The condescension was unbelievable and unwarranted. The last trip solidified that I will never go back.

I've visited Carbone's a few times over the last couple of years so I figured it's time to write a review. Consistently 4 stars. I've tried drinks, appetizers, several different meals and desserts and all have been of great quality. The service is always top notch from the friendliness to the attentiveness of the staff and the restaurant has a great ambiance for many types of occasions, whether it be a family dinner or date night. In my most recent visit, I tried the steak which was very tasty and probably my favorite meal yet. The prime steak sauce was a good accompaniment. From an app perspective, definitely try the calamari and the charcuterie plate. Finally, I'm pretty sure their desserts change seasonally. I've had everything from coquito cheesecake to butter rum cake and its been the perfect ending.

I have had dinner numerous times at Carbone's Prime and have been very satisfied until last night. Last night my chicken parm tasted like rubber and you could not cut it with a fork like usual. The waitress apologized and removed the dish and notified the manager. The manager did come to the table, but never apologized for the poor quality or even said sorry for ruining my dinner with my wife and daughter. She did offer to have me select anther item, but I was so disappointed with her lack of empathy and the fact that she took no responsibility for the poor quality thar I could not make my family wait. I raved about Carbone's previously, but the attitude and response of the manager has left a bad taste in my mouth that is far beyond the rubbery chicken that was served. Mistakes happen, but I expected so much more from the manager in rectifying the situation and caring about preserving the dining experience.

Great food, great drink selection! The focaccia bread with butter was superb! The charcuterie board was delicious for an appetizer. The blood orange martini was amazing! I wish they had more pasta options, but the Gustavo Pasta was to die for! They didn't overcook the pasta. Highly recommend the scallop risotto also or the Sunday Sauce as they were top tier! All the food our table had was cooked to perfection. Mary, our waitress was super attentive and had a great personality! We will definitely be back!

The food is generally very good. However, don't go here on a Saturday evening. Having a reservation means nothing. We waited a half hour beyond our reservation time to be seated. It was another half hour before a waiter took our order and we were ready but he just kind of disappeared. Service overall was just really bad! The place is packed and noisy so forget ambiance. Perhaps they need to take less reservations or add more staff. I also think because it was so busy the food was below their usual standard.

The food was great. We just waited a long time for a table even though we had a reservation the service was also great.

I ordered takeout from Carbone's Prime this evening. For my appetizer I ordered the wild mushroom tarts they were crispy and creamy, however there were only four in the order. For my entrée I ordered the pan seared salmon, it was delicious. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was light and flaky and the sweet potato mixed with the salmon was a nice pairing.

I belong to a few professional organizations, and I joined six friends from one of them for a dinner planning session at Carbone's Tuesday night. We were in a private room, that was large enough so we could sit at every other chair to be socially distant. Our experience was excellent! The service, the appetizers, the entrees were all high in quality. Our server told us about the half or dozen or so dinner specials, and three of our seven went for one of them, including yours truly. So what was that popular entree? It was Cioppino with shrimp, lobster, and mussels over pasta with two crostini slices. Very good sized shrimp, a nice tender hunk of a lobster tail, plenty of mussels, delicious broth and a nice portion of perfect pasta. I thought it was awesome !! Carbone's Prime brought the elegance of their Hartford flagship restaurant to the suburbs and they did a very nice job. Bonus Tip #1 - If you don't want to eat inside, they have a big dining tent in the back parking lot. Bonus Tip #2 - There is a Yelp check-in coupon for a free gelato !

Thanks so very much for being so accommodating. It was hard enough getting folks together from three different places in the state, then when the RSVP confirmed the Bloomfield location my heart sank. Thanks for saving me from having to come up with a Plan B for the 34th wedding anniversary. This more than works for us!!! Here's to making memories!

Initial service was ok. Large crowd of people in the entrance area but most were overflowing from the bar. The dining are was nicely lit with a comfy feel- however I was seated in the center of the dining room in a small two seat table surrounded by empty booths. It was very uncomfortable- the table was very small- the entrance way at my back- not comfortable at all- I requested to be moved to a booth but was told that they were reserved for larger groups. The entire time I "dined" at this establishment, couple after couple were sat in every single booth around me until I was very aware that I was discriminated against to some degree: I could not understand. Furthermore, the charcuterie board was delicious! Fresh and tasty and amazing! However -the main course- the steak- was unseasoned, tough and was a ny strip without the strip! Not an ounce of tenderness or flavor. I was so sad. My husband, broke his tooth chewing this steak. No lie his entire half cuspid broke off and he is getting tooth restoration. $171.00 and a big tip later (bc it wasn't the servers fault) we left with one less tooth, extreme disappointment in our seating, treatment, and our date night which was planned in advance with child care and all was ruined. I was so sad and disappointed I can't fully explain how disheartening it was as I was so excited to patron this establishment.

This review is specifically about the Nick's Pepperoni pizza dish and absolutely nothing else. I've never been inside the restaurant or tried any other meal from Carbone's. So many people have recommended "Nick's Pep" as one of the best pizzas ever so I had to try it. The result - No thanks! Don't get me wrong, it wasn't gross. It tasted fine and I ate it. But it did not taste like pizza and it left me wanting real pizza. All I could taste was the honey and pepperoni. Mostly, just the honey. If they would have used 25% of the honey they actually used, I might have liked it better. But who knows? This was way too sweet and overpowering. I could not taste the cheese, the sauce, or the dough/crust. It was like a dessert pizza. If it was part of a buffet, I'd have a small slice and love it. But much too heavy for a meal. So let's not make a novel out of this. Let's keep it simple. Do not get Nick's Pep. Get something else on the menu. Unless you have a fetish for honey. This place might be great, but Nick's Pep is not great. The people who say it's great know nothing about pizza. I'm giving 3 stars because maybe the restaurant is great. Nick's Pep is 1 star. This restaurant is always so hard to rate. I WANT to love it and give it more stars. I really do. But, I'm always let down by something when I come. The positives: great ambiance, great service, good social distancing outside the bar area (that needs some help). The fish is great, the red sauce is delicious, the appetizers are amazing. The staff is very accommodating and gracious and it's part of the reason I hate giving the review only 3 stars. Here's the thing - if you are going to label yourself as a Prime restaurant, your food should all be prime quality. So if it isn't, then you shouldn't get a 5 star rating. So the negatives - my favorite thing at this restaurant has always been their polenta. Creamy deliciousness and paired with their marinara I could eat it every day. But this last time they went and messed it up and added corn kernels to it! Why?? What did the polenta ever do to deserve that level of sabotage? Moving on, from one Italian to the other, fix your eggplant parm. Ricotta does nothing for it. Do you add ricotta to chicken parm? No! So why insult the poor eggplant with it? Just the mozzi please! And that eggplant needs to be thicker cut otherwise it gets chewy in the mix. Also, throw in a vegan dish or two for the non-dairy folk. In summary, you should definitely check this place out at least once. It is like the only new restaurant in the area and my husband did love his dish, so try it out and let me know how it went for you.
