We have been going to the Carcarille for almost 30 years. It is a wonderful family run hotel that has been beautifully renovated in recent years. Brothers Dominique and Christophe are a great team who make you feel at home. The food is fantastic, giving guests the ability to experience gourmet French food in a beautiful setting. An added bonus is that the hotel is perfectly located to explore the Luberon region.

Such a charming family-owned restaurant and hotel! I went with a hiking group and Domenic was such a gracious host. He helped us arrange a tour and tasting at a local olive farm where we learned all about growing and processing olives in Provence. He entertained us with a wine tasting at the hotel, and helped arrange transportation when needed. ||The food was amazing! I’m a vegetarian and the chef really made an effort to make delicious and unique meals for vegetarians every night - which was not my experience at all the hotels we stayed at. The desserts were decadent! ||I would highly recommend this hotel for a real Provence experience!

This is a fantastic place to stay and eat in Provence and one we have visited often as it offers such good value.|We always have room 26 as it offers a comfortable area with a lovely view of Gordes. The food is fantastic and the chef is very creative and his tomato tarte a favourite . The staff are welcoming and friendly yet discreet. There is a real family friendly feel here and they all appear during your stay constructing in some way or another to the efficient running of the place. They offer indoor and outdoor dining and always a special treat, given we come from Scotland, to eat outdoors on their lovely terraced area. The restaurant is nearly always full often with large tables of locals which is testamount to the appeal of the food. The swimming pool area is relaxing and private and the courtyard area offers a guiet relaxing space to enjoy a pre dinner glass of fizz. I would recommend anyone considering a visit to this area, books to stay and dine here. Great walks from door to door to the surrounding towns and villages and spectacular gorges.

My husband, myself and our two year old stayed for two nights. This was a gamble but it paid off. It’s a short drive from Gordes but in a good way as you avoid the tourists and enjoy tranquil Provence. The hotel has all you need, nice rooms and a fabulous pool. The restaurant is amazing and packed each night with hotel guests and external guests. They were great with our daughter and the food was fabulous while the wine was not overpriced. Thoroughly recommend.

We made a reservation and were seated at a terrific table next to a fountain. The service was really terrific and our server, Marie from Menerbes was cheerful and really helpful. She recommended two different bottles of wine that were both delicious. The best deal is to get a combination with starter, main and dessert. The zucchini flowers stuffed with cheese in a tomato reduction were amazing. I had a shrimp appetizer that had shrimp in a foam that was imaginative and delicious. Main dishes were really fabulous. I had filet of Dorado in a fennel fondue that was perfectly cooked and amazing. My husband had filet of beef with morels and carmelized onions that was superb. The deserts are beautiful to look at and eat. I had a raspberry desert that was served in a martini glass and had a coulis of raspberry covered with a crisp white chocolate meringue and covered with fresh fruit. One of us had the "passion of chocolate" that had a chocolate crumble sponge cake covered with pieces of chocolate and passion fruit. The setting is outside in the garden with romantic lighting on the trees and the lights of Gordes in the distance. This was such a wonderful meal that will be remembered as one of the best in my life!

We stayed here for one night as we passed through Gordes which is absolutely amazing. The hotel is just outside a couple of kilometres but that was almost better than being right in town. The grounds were gorgeous and the rooms were large and clean. I agree with some other posts where isn’t the most friendly place but that is not abnormal! If you don’t speak French you will have some difficulty with the menu and there is not a lot of assistance. If you do then everything is fine. Nice little courtyard for dinner and some wine.

Located a short drive from Gordes, Hôtel Carcarille provides a great base to visit Gordes and to explore the surrounding area. The hotel is on scenic grounds with a lovely swimming pool. The room was on the small side but comfortable. (We skipped on breakfast.) Gordes is a uniquely beautiful village but accommodations in Gordes and immediately near it are limited an expensive. Hôtel Carcarille is a great alternative and, if we return to Gordes, we will return here, too.

Yelp
During our 4 days stay at Provence, we spent 2 dinners at Carcarille. The reasons for dinning here twice is that they serve great food, excellent Chateauneuf-du-Pape wines and offer superb customer service. We had a great time dinning at Carcarille. I strongly recommend Carcarille to anyone happen to be around Gordes!
