23 Best Bars in Barcelona

"Opened in 1974 as a rum bar, Caribbean Club looks a bit like the inside of a boat; that is, a really small, galley-like boat that would make most modern speakeasies feel as spacious as a theme park. The nautical theme continues with dozens of tomes about Cuba and a lineup of the tropical cocktails. As you might expect, Caribbean rums in their many forms are the draw here: pitch-perfect shaken daiquiris, silky El Presidentes, and rum Old Fashioneds stirred with love." - Isabelle Kliger, Naren Young

I LOVE this restaurant. One of my favorites in Barcelona. The food is AMAZING! The service, AMAZING! You can’t go wrong with anything that you get. I definitely recommend the Jerk wings! Thank me later! 100/10.

A really pleasant surprise with a unique atmosphere. It feels like stepping back in time, with a touch of Jules Verne and Hemingway. It’s a bit hidden, and inside, it seems like everyone knows each other. The day we visited, it was full of older locals, but they welcomed us warmly, and we enjoyed listening to their stories. The cocktails were strong and well-made. I’d definitely go back!

We stopped in here after dinner for some craft cocktails… We did have a slight difficult time finding it, it’s just a door in an alley. Inside has a cool, “speak easy” vibe and the staff are great! Their menu is loaded with interesting Caribbean-style rum drinks which they make all ingredients fresh for. The cocktails we tried were all excellent, and potent too! We absolutely loved the experience here and would highly recommend stopping in, especially if you’re into craft cocktails!

What a fun spot to visit for a cocktail! Cozy little space with a great selection and great staff. Bonus points because they automatically serve water (and refill it often) and you get a complimentary snack with your drinks. A hidden gem that feels like a step back in time. We really loved the mezcal Negroni on offer in the Campari barrel!

This might have been the best cocktail I've ever had. We really wanted to go back a second time while we were in Barcelona, but we couldn't get in the other 2 times we tried to go. The service was so lovely, and the space passed the vibe check. Highly recommend.

Yelp
In another small alley off La Rambla, Caribbean Club has a small wooden door beneath a stone arch. You need to get there early because there are only seven seats at the little bar. It has a seafaring nautical theme and gives off a bit of a tropical island vibe. This is what Old Havana in Cuba might have been like. Their specialty is rum with over 200 different bottles. This place was all about mixology before it was even a word. If you like, you can tell the bartender your preferences, and you will be served a drink that matches your personality. My drink had Gin Xoriguer, lemon juice, lime juice, elderflower, egg white foam, and soda. I think this is close to my personality except for the spiciness, the citrus is definitely correct.

Yelp
Best drinks and atmosphere in Barcelona. Small bar but he's a true mixologist. Completely off the beaten path. Worth a drink or six.

Yelp
This is a cozy bar just a block off La Rambla. (You need to be on the lookout to spot the entrance.) The atmosphere is low key and the drinks are uniformly excellent -- the owners, who also work behind the bar, absolutely know their stuff. There are about 10 seats at the bar, but at 7:00 p.m. on a Thursday there was still plenty of room.

Yelp
So glad we found this tiny gem of a hideaway tucked in discreetly amid all the tourists destinations on a dark alleyway. The drinks are creative and delicious trips back in time, like the music el Cubano wafting around the room, as you enjoy the cocktail culture shaker relics on display behind glass. The bartender/owner has an updated Cary Grant elan as he cheerfully ministers his liquid magic from behind the period bar. After a drink, everyone in the room is your new friend. We'll never forget this spot (and hope to return!).

Yelp
Kind people. Tremendous rum drinks. And occasionally a wandering opera singer pops in to entertain. A real gem of a spot.

Yelp
The very unassuming door and sign lead to some very delicious drinks and great atmosphere. I had the Flower Power and it was really tasty. The bartender told my friend that they were willing to add more of anything to the drink if we desired. Very nice people, great music. Small spot but we were able to find 4 seats.

Yelp
We came to Caribbean Club on the recommendation of a bartender we met at 1862 Dry Bar in Madrid. The space is tiny (capacity is something around 20 patrons I think), but this only adds to the intimacy and appeal of the venue. Juanjo, the owner, prepares drinks behind the bar with such skill and elegance, it's hard to look away. True to its name, the bar sports walls lined with glass cases displaying books on the forgotten cocktails of yesteryear and the art of bartending, as well as special edition bottles of spirits and rum brought over from Cuba on some of Juanjo's many visits. Salsa music and Son Cubano play at a comfortable volume. Overall, the bar and its staff were utterly enchanting. The drinks were absolutely delicious -- we ordered a Manhattan and a Cuba Vieja (a delicious twist on the Old Fashioned featuring notes of Cuban coffee and what tasted like a hint of chocolate in the bitters).
