My mom and I stopped in for brunch, and from the moment we walked in, it felt welcoming. The atmosphere was warm and inviting -- a cool blend of historical charm and thoughtful architectural details. The acoustics made it easy to chat without shouting, and the lighting was just right: bright enough for my mom (at a spry 87) to read the menu, but still cozy.
Our server, Thalia, was wonderful -- friendly, attentive, and genuinely personable. She got us started right away with espressos and cold water, and she checked in just the right amount throughout the meal.
Mom ordered the biscuits and gravy, and I have to say, she's a tough critic when it comes to that dish. Usually, she finds them dry, but this time she said it was the best she's ever had -- and she's pretty well-traveled! I went with the omelette, which was a little overcooked for my taste, but honestly, the great service, atmosphere, and my mom's satisfaction more than made up for it.
All in all, Carina's is a gem -- a perfect spot for a relaxed, friendly brunch in a beautiful setting. We'll definitely be back!
