Why Using a Travel Specialist Is More Important Than Ever

"“I was working with first-time clients on a family trip to Disney World, and from the outset we established that this was absolutely not about ticking off boxes or cramming in all the rides. I knew that they had pursued their Professional Association of Diving Instructors certification just before this trip, so I set the father and son up with private access to scuba diving in Epcot's 5.7-million-gallon saltwater aquarium in the Living Seas Pavilion. It's filled with more than 6,000 sea creatures and has perfect visibility. Early the next morning, they set off with a photographer on a private Wild Africa Trek safari at Animal Kingdom. They fed hippos and crossed an elevated rope bridge that hovered over alligators and crocodiles and drove through the savannah where lions lounged on warm rocks and elephants gathered in herds. This trip went well beyond the typical Disney World playbook.”"

In September, ‘25, we took the behind-the-scenes tour, Caring for Giants. RACHEL, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and funny. We met near the Safari ride to check-in. Then took a special shuttle backstage to visit the elephants from a short distance away. Just a reminder, you are on a platform observing and do not get too close. However, well worth it. We saw several elephants, including baby Cora and Stella, the “long-legged model.” We really enjoyed ourselves. And it was “something different” to do at a reasonable price, $39 plus Annual Passholder discount.

A group of friends and I did this tour on Sunday Oct 5th and we had the pleasure of having Rachel as our tour guide. RACHEL was Amazing! she is extremely knowledgeable about all wildlife and had a great personality. She was funny and played along with our crazy banter. We are all looking forward to doing another tour and hope we can get Rachel next time as well. 🥰🐘

What an informative, beautiful tour! They take you backstage so you can see what goes on behind the scenes, you get into a van that takes you behind all the barns where they take care of animals, the whole time the driver is answering any questions & giving you really informative facts about elephants and animal kingdom in general. You get dropped off right in front of an elephant pen where you can see the different elephants they have, they introduce them by name & traits, they even have a little baby. They tell you so much information about how the elephants are taken care of, why they’re important to the eco system, what Disney is doing to protect them, and more. At the end, the lady offers to take pictures of you with the elephants. It’s about an hour long tour. It’s so worth the money, especially if you’re an annual pass holder and you get that extra discount.

This is the cheapest tour to take atAnimal Kingdom. It is also the shortest, which is why they offer the tour multiple times during the day. This is more of an educational tour than an interactive tour. You do get to watch the herd of elephants at a separate location that no other park goer has access to. However, The elephants are nowhere near you, so you’re basically taking pictures from a far. Even with that said, this is still a very informative tour with friendly tour guides and cool artifacts for you to look. An excursion that is kid friendly.

- guide was good and knowledgeable - it's only a 30 mins tour. Rest of the time is spent in commute time. - tour takes you to only one spot to see one or two elephants from around 30-40 feet distance. - not as expected. You just sit/stand at one spot and listen to guide while watching elephant/s at distance.

Up close (well close enough) with these gentle giants and learning about their habitat is worth doing at least once!
