Carisbrook Motel

Clean, quiet, roomy, well lit units. Parking outside door. Bus stop across the road if you don’t want to find parking downtown. Morning newspaper delivered to your door. Heating was on when I got there which was a nice touch.

Me and my family booked the motel via booking.com. Really enjoyed our stay, staff were super friendly and location was great.

I have to keep reminding myself that this is a 3 star motel, but still they charge $142 per night. yes garaging is available, but not for all units, so the option for us was to park on the street, which I personally find odd, and a little frustrating for we didnt have an option. Off street parking not in a garage would have inconvenienced other motel guests.||It was clean, but the decor was dated, and the shower had an old brass fitting and was fixed, so difficult to get a good wash. even an old slightly adjustable Toplis mixer would have been better.||On a main road so there is road noise.||Has sky with all the channels||I suspect that at times, such as when concerts are at the stadium, and when the university year starts, motel rooms are at a premium.

Big room with kitchen. No air con, bed heater plugs are hidden behind the big bed. Heater in the living area must be operated together with the thermostat. Overall service and location are good.

This was a great find. We had no reservation for any Dunedin lodging. When we arrived, downtown had many "no vacancies", and most that we saw was so cramped, we thought we would scrape the car getting in. We started out to see if something on the edge of town might work. We passed by the Carisbrook, and it had a vacancy; so we stopped. The host was warmly welcoming and provided this frazzled foreign couple with great information, good price, and a clean, spacious one bedroom, charmingly dated (but sufficiently modern) unit. We would absolutely go back if near Dunedin.

Awesome service from staff member Mike. Was extremely helpful and informative. For $130 a night we got a one bedroom unit with separate lounge with dining table and television. Very warm and spacious. Bathroom is more then adequate. Although wife was hoping for a bath. Probably could do with updating a couple of things and maybe a little bit of maintenance. Front door squeaks worse then grandma's prosthetic hip. Bed is extremely soft . But i would be more then happy to come back and stay. My small dog was very happy to be aloud inside. Ty very much.

Extremely happy with my stay. Lovely warm comfortable unit at an affordable price. Warm rooms, comfortable bed and cosy cushions. Lovely hot shower with great water pressure, fully equipped kitchen. Great location, host was very friendly polite and welcoming. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and pride put into the entire property. Garage parking gave me peace of mind knowing my vehicle was safe and to top it off pet friendly so my travel companion was welcomed as much as I was which made my over all experience exceed my expectations. Will recommend and return if ever in the area again.

We stayed in the two bedroom motel room, very spacious and the beds were comfy. The rooms are a little dated in decor, but it didn’t bother us at all. The most important thing was a decent sized room and comfortable beds - which this motel had. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and supplies. The TV had sky with a great range of channels. |A good location in Dunedin, less than 10 minutes drive into the CBD, and close enough to supermarkets and other shops. |Would stay here again next time we’re in Dunedin.
