I saw such great reviews however I was so disappointed. I don’t reside in Augusta, GA, I drove to try this delicious food, judging by the pictures, looked like my ancestors good cooking. I received my plate which looked delicious. When I got home to sit and eat, everything seemed good, until I cut into my meatloaf! After eating several bites, I looked down and the meatloaf was raw in the middle. I instantly got sick to my stomach and couldn’t eat another bite nor did I want a replacement. I will definitely not be returning! Please ensure the meat is cooked before serving to your customers.

Absolutely amazing food! Hot, delicious the guy behind the counter was super friendly sweet and gave us a lot of food! We will be eating at Carla's again! LOVE LOVE 💖

Seen ppl mention this place when looking at another restaurants reviews videos on TikTok and I must say I’m glad I came. Food is fresh and is so good!! I usually go to big mamas for soul food but this place will see me again!!! Not to mention the price is extremely reasonable!!

I love visiting different restaurants in various cities. Many times, I happen upon hidden gems that amaze me. This place is one of them. With so many delicious choices, it was difficult to decide what to get. Nevertheless, my party and I were highly pleased. Everything was completely satisfying. We were more than pleased.

My friend and I went to Carla's Kitchen for the first time last Sunday. It was pretty good so we decided to go again this Sunday because we wanted some good home cooking. Well, unfortunately, this time we did not have the same experience. The food was not "home-cooked." It was more like some things were from the can especially some of the vegetables. For instance, last week the cabbage were fresh, this week they looked just like canned cabbage. It was so obvious because you could clearly see there was a big difference. The oxtails were much smaller than last week and tough. The mac and cheese was more like just cheese and noodles this time. The gravy was not even the same. The hoe cakes were super tiny and looked and tasted like they were tasteless pancake batter instead of cornmeal. So, needless to say it was not worth $19 per plate. I see now they are not consistent so they do not have to worry about me taking a chance and wasting my money anymore. Even worse, my friend was just fine but as soon as he took the first bite of his food, he immediately started feeling ill. Right after he started feeling bad, he had to go to the bathroom. His body immediately rejected it. He felt bad for almost two days. Additionally, I was so surprised when the lady fixing the plates told me that one side which is nothing but a serving spoon scoop is $5. That is ridiculous; way overpriced. I just wanted to inform others of me and my friend's experience. Go at your own risk, but as I said I will most definitely never return.

Food was good and staff very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely visit again.

What can I not say about this homegrown ,peaceful sweat and tears ,your memes kitchen kind of home cookin restaurant Mrs. Carla is engaging,friendly,kind, Godly woman. The food is excellent. The staff miss hazel was patient, kind, and very accommodating. I had the smothered turkey it was juicy tender ,well seasoned, gravy, rice,cranberry sauce, Mac and cheese, yams, all delicious. And tik tok is right her Nanna pudding is to die for. You won't be disappointed..

I ❤️ liver and onions and it was a generous portion and so tender and delicious! 😋 My husband had the smothered pork chop.
