We really enjoyed our stay at Carlo Creek Cabins. It's location is great if you enjoy stunning vistas, the sounds of nature and are visiting Denali National Park. The owners Tammie and Dan are friendly, available and willing to share great tips on how to enjoy the area. ||The beds were comfortable, the linens, bedspreads and towels were new and clean and the cabins were decorated for comfort, ambiance and well stocked with paper towels and toilet paper.||This is deluxe glamping so enjoy the outdoor grilling area by the creek and the specialty coffee shack on the property by bringing your own grilling tools and eating utensils to lean into the family fun. ||We had a wonderful time, thank you Tammie and Dan!

We loved staying in this cute cabin just south of Denali National Park. We were made to feel right at home and the creek was an added bonus. We were able to pick up a breakfast and lunch before we went to Denali. It was made on the property so very convenient. Our cabin had a private bath with a shower. It was very quaint and cozy. The recommendations of restaurants nearby were appreciated and the food was phenomenal! They are just across the street. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere quiet and not far from the park.

Great stay in a beautiful area! We were in cabin 1, which is closest to the highway. There was some road noise, but wasn't too bothersome. I felt like I had been transported back to overnight camp when I opened the door to the cabin - but in a good way! The bathroom was large and well stocked. My only complaint is that a few extra towels would be nice. There was a full kitchen, but we were just there for one night, so we didn't make use of it. From what I could tell, it looked to have whatever pots and pans you would need to make a meal. It's a great choice in the Denali area - it's just a bit south of the park, but an easy drive.

Just an amazing place to stay when visiting Denali! Truly enjoyed my recent stay and will definitely book again if coming back up. I stayed in two different cabins, so got the experience most of what they offer. The lettered cabins were amazing and the shower/bathroom house wasn't an issue at all. For one, they were clean, convenient and easy to use, just steps from your cabin. And then I stayed in Cabin 4 with an awesome view of the creek right out the window. All the employees were very friendly, welcoming and so accommodating. Loved the laundry machines on site and all the amenities. But most of all, it was peaceful. So glad I booked here and was far away from the craziness of some of the larger places up north. It was so quiet here and loved all the views of the surrounding mountains. Plus, you are just a few steps away from several food options. On site they have the little breakfast/lunch cafe and across the street two great dinner options. Loved Panorama Pizza Pub for the killer pizzas and downhome pub feel. Tammie and Dan are doing amazing things here and truly appreciate your business. I stay at a lot of national parks and western tourist areas and this is in my top 5 of best places in the US to stay!

My husband and I spent two nights at Carlo Creek Cabins and it was one of the most beautiful and memorable experiences of our trip. The location is absolutely perfect, peaceful and nestled in nature, yet conveniently close to the Denali National Park entrance. The cabins themselves are charming, clean, and feel wonderfully authentic. You can really tell that a lot of thought and care has gone into creating a space where guests can relax and connect with the surroundings. We had the pleasure to meet Tammie as soon as we arrived. She gave us such a warm and genuine welcome. It’s clear that she and her husband Dan are deeply committed to ensuring guests have the best experience possible. Their passion and hospitality truly made us feel at home. We highly recommend Carlo Creek Cabins to anyone visiting Denali, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Tammie and Dan : )

This place has very clean and quiet cabins made of wood. The air conditioning is great and warm! There is a laundry and shower station in a separate building that is very close to your cabin and the bathrooms are cleaned daily. There would be a cafe that would open on 6/1/2025 and it looks very good. Definitely a 5 star!

We stayed 2 nights awhile visiting Denali National Park. Cabin was clean and adequate. Check in was easy and the one staff person we met was very nice. There was a strong propane oder with every shower, but they were nice and hot.|Took about 15 minutes to get to the park.

This was a nice stay about 12-13 miles outside of Denali. We enjoyed the little cabin. It had a refrigerator with a freezer and microwave. There is no oven or cooktop. We thought there would be some utensils or dishes and there were not any. The staff were very helpful.

Yelp
I'm in a group of 5 that looked for lodging in Denali National Park back in mid-late July (and my trip was mid-late August), so nothing was available except Carlo Creek Cabins, and even most of their cabins were booked. We ended up getting Cabin 9, which is close to the office and therefore wifi, and Cabin A, which is quite far and has neither wifi, service, nor a private bathroom. The shared bathroom actually was clean and fine, but I hate how there's a light timer switch of 15 min maximum (I take 15-30 min showers when I wash my hair). Also, in the shower house I used closest to my room, only 1 of the 2 shower stalls had hot water. Another problem is the hours of the office and the shuttle (Denali Hostel & Cabins shuttle services Carlo Lodges, The Perch and Creekside which are extremely close by) don't really make sense with everything else going on in the park. For one, the Park Connection Motorcoach from Anchorage to Denali either arrives 12:30 pm or 8:30 pm. However, the Carlo Lodge Office is only open 8 to 11 am and 3 to 8 pm. When we arrived around 1 pm using their shuttle pickup, we literally had 2 hours of nothing to do there. We didn't have the wifi password at the time either. Second, some of the 8 am activities require you to be at Denali Cabins for pickup by 7 am. However, the shuttle itself arrives 7 am at Carlo Lodges. Lastly, they charge $20/person plus fees if you book online. For my group of 5, that means $106 each time ONE WAY to go anywhere. At least the restaurants nearby are pretty good. Creekside Cafe is the only one open every day from morning to night though lol.

Yelp
We stayed in one of the dry (no bath) cabins at the end of August, and couldn't have been happier. The cabin was immaculate and cosy, the bed was excellent and we were only about 15 steps from the very clean bathrooms. Because we came up on the train, we relied on the Sheep Shuttle to get to and from the park each day, which dropped off and picked up from in front of the office. We ate breakfast each morning at either the Moose's Brew concession on site, or at the cafe across the street. We were able to order box lunches each day, and had our pick of three restaurants within walking distance for dinner. If we'd been more organized, our cabin provided a mini fridge and a microwave, so we could have done at least some meals for ourselves. Carlo Creek Cabins provided easy and extremely comfortable lodging as we explored Denali. We look forward to our next visit!

Yelp
We stayed here for 2 nights while we visited Denali National Park. The proprietors were so wonderful and welcoming, as were their cute little dogs! Rooms were comfortable, with wall heaters for cool nights. Each cabin had a double and a twin bed - fits 3 people, not more than that. Bathroom cabin was clean with plenty of hot water. Dorm fridge and microwave in each cabin, ice available at the front desk. Bring your own plates/utensils! Three restaurants across the street. Fire pits near the river, walkable from the cabin. 20 minute to entrance of Denali National Park. A good place to stay if you want to visit Denali, but be aware that you will be going out to eat a lot. BBQ grills would be a GREAT addition to this place.

Yelp
Tried two different cabins on consecutive nights. Friendly folks, pretty surroundings, and adequate cabins about 15 minutes from the park entrance. Worked for us. Preferred cabin 4 over cabin C, mainly thanks to its private bath. But that bath was tiny; sit on the toilet and your feet are almost in the shower. Reasonably comfortable beds, clean spaces, and rushing creek water to lull us to sleep. Not a bargain, but hey...

Yelp
Booking a cabin on the internet, on short notice, in the middle of a forest, and in a place you've never been, can be a scary experience. By pure luck, I stumbled upon Carlo's. Their fairly basic internet site was easy to use and even allowed me to choose the exact cabin I would stay in - of course I chose cabin "T" for my name. Carlo's was right off the highway at mile marker 224 and the significant signage made it easy to find. We pulled in around mid-day and were promptly greeted by the efficient and friendly owner. She checked us in and provided us with numerous suggestions for day hikes and exploring Denali. The cabin itself was out of a movie - all log, with small trees growing on the roof. Small, but comfortable, enough for a queen size bed, a couple night stands and some space for suitcases. There was a heater, which was essential, even in the summer. The bed was comfortable and the linens clean. The showers and bathrooms, located about thirty feet from cabin, were modern and clean. They even offer free wifi. In addition, there were certain other charming features - moose horn door handles, pictures of local moose on the walls and outside tables on the small porches. Total cost - $87. Despite the simplicity of this place, it is a great choice when traveling to Denali. I would happily return again and suggest it to friends.

Yelp
Cabins are clean, and office staff helpful. Carlo Creek gurgles pleasantly behind the cabins. Make sure you take a walk to the Beaver Pond. It's beautiful and we actually saw a beaver!

Yelp
Really a great value on lodging near Denali. It is a drive from the park entrance, but I feel like you really want a car here to avoid being dependent on the tourist traps. Cabins are clean and pretty spacious. The area is quiet and really feels like a nice retreat from the city, especially with the rushing of the creek. The shared bath facilities were WELL above my expectations. Five cabins ring a "shower house" that has multiple clean lockable bathrooms with sink, toilet, and shower. Some even have two stalls so an entire family can just go in, lock the door, and get prettified in private. They also have ice on site to restock your cooler, grills for cooking, and a number of nice porch swings. I just wish there were a liquor store nearby so that I didn't have to make beer runs to the Canyon. However, overall it massively exceeded expectations. Two things you need to know if you stay here: 1. Bring lots of repellent, citronella candles, etc. it's near a creek. That means even worse mosquitoes than most of Denali. Prepare or get badly bitten. 2. There is free coffee... but they start brewing at 9, and by 9:30 you're lucky if there's two cups ready yet. That doesn't work well if you're trying to hit the park before the sun gets high. Bring your stove and some instant, or else be prepared to pay $2.50 pr 12oz drip at the Creekside across the street!

Yelp
We visited at the end of June, 2021 for a trip up to see Denali. The cabins are wonderful, rustic, cozy, and quiet! After seeing the main area of hotels, etc. up about a mile north of the park entrance I was so glad to be away from the noise and busy-ness. The cabins are situated next to Carlo Creek, a nice quiet little waterway. The cabins with bathrooms are actually right on the creek. Our cabin, which had no individual bathroom, was a little off the creek but we had a fantastic view of the mountains from our front porch. The restrooms/shower house is only a few steps away and is spacious. Everything is sparkling clean, and the cabin had a microwave, refrigerator, and power/lights/heat. The beds are real beds and extremely comfortable. We could get wifi in our cabin but it was spotty, however, if you go up to the office area it is very good and they have a nice picnic table under cover. We saw moose in the area, and there are some fantastic places to eat right across the street. Tammie and her husband were fantastic hosts and I really recommend their place if you want a quiet, restful home base for your Denali stay.

Yelp
Of all the places we stayed in Alaska, this place made us most feel like we were in Alaska. The cabins look rustic, but they are not lacking in amenities: wi-fi, microwave, refrigerator, in-room bathroom. Nicely spaced so you are not aware of your neighbors. Plus three nice restaurants across the highway. No need to go into Glitter Gulch and be surrounded by tourists.

Yelp
I stayed here two nights in May 2011. I loved the place! To economize, we opted for the shared bathroom which was no biggie. The bathrooms are kept in great condition and are charming. The cabins have very comfortable beds and soft flannel sheets. Their website is a breeze for booking. When you stay there you actually feel like you're in Alaska and not in a tourist trap... I would stay again in a heart beat. I learned this year that they have homemade power generating windmills on their land (how cool is that?). They're also one of the first families in this area. Hope to be there again soon.

Yelp
This is the perfect Alaska cabin experience! Carlo Creek is about 1/2 hour from the entrance of Denali NP, far enough away from "Glitter Gulch" (the super touristy area right near Denali's entrance) that you feel that you are really remote. We stayed in the deluxe cabin, which is right off the highway, but fortunately the car noise was minimal. Our cabin had its own kitchen and bathroom, and in the room there was space for bunk beds, two double beds, and a table and chairs. We learned that it is actually two cabins put together to make one. It's adorable and rustic, but not too rustic for my princess-y self! (I'm not that into roughing it. At all.) We had a nice porch with a swing in front, and everything on the inside was cozy and clean. Carlo's is also eco-friendly, if you want to save water and use your same towel every day, you just hang it on the towel rack (aka caribou antlers!) Or you can have your bed made up and fresh towels every day. The woman that checked us in and out was friendly and helpful. There is a trail right behind the cabins that leads to some beautiful ponds. For other entertainment, they keep board games in the office that you can check out. There is free wi-fi if you have your own computer, otherwise you can use the office's computers for $2 for 15 minutes. For food, there are a couple of restaurants right across the street, otherwise you have to travel to Denali. I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Great value, great location, great staff, really clean, very comfortable beds. The previous guest in our cabin left food in the fridge and it smelled like rotten eggs. We let them know and it was cleaned up right away. The first night we stayed in a cabin without a bathroom. The shared bathrooms w/showers were clean, water hot, pressure good. Other 2 nights we stayed in cabin with private bath. Really comfy, nice sheets. (Only minor complaint was sheets from first night seemed a tad worn.) It's a little rustic so if you are expecting something with manicured grounds and fancier cabin interiors, this isn't the place. But, we were very happy here. Matthew, who works the front desk, was wonderful at explaining all kinds of things. It was like having a professional tour guide at the front desk. 3 restaurants all across the street. 20 minutes to Denali. Lastly, it's really quiet. Compared to some other places we ate dinner at that also had cottages/cabins, this place was really nice to come back to.

Yelp
Should be 3.5 stars except for price, based on my expectations of course. Grabbed a single room cabin for 70 bucks or so. Literally a bed, a microwave and some towels (perfect for my needs since I didn't haul a tent or bag with me). There are common bathrooms and showers available. Also have a common fire pit area (bring wood, buy it or use lftovers). Owners appeared to be anchorage ppls that do this on the side. Room was clean and heated (worth the price of admission maybe in June). Evenings are quite chilly so car camping without a sleeping bag isn't exactly a fun way to travel for more than a night *if that*. Maybe 50 bucks would make sense, but they seemed to be booked so I'm sure they know their sweet price point better than I :) Overall...was pretty happy with them for getting a heated place to sleep after a long flight and long drive!
