Had a fantastic time at Carlson's Llovable Llamas! I highly recommend to get your friends, family and any kids in your life out there to befriend the llamas. The llamas were very kind and friendly. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and the animals were happy, content and seemed to be treated well! I can't wait to go back!

My family and I visit every May and we cannot say enough good things about this place!! 🥰 The staff is so nice and friendly, the llamas are extremely tame with each having their own unique, fun personality and the babies are ADORABLE!! Rick and his family are wonderful people and we truly can’t thank them enough for sharing their llamas with the public!

Google
Such a fantastic visit for any age! I really appreciated how they acommodated our group even though we were late. The information shared was educational, my high school Spanish club loved the visit. Highly recommend.

My husband and I brought two of our grandsons (age 4 and 7) to see the llamas. We don't know who enjoyed it more! We enjoyed petting, walking, and brushing them as well as feeding them treats and learning more about them. It was fun just to watch them. They are so curious about everything. We will definitely be going back for another visit.

What a fantastic experience. Our 3 year old grandson went from being homesick to being the happiest little guy in the world. Audrey was so helpful in every aspect and answered every question we had. Definitely worth the 40 minute drive from Lakeville. Would actually do this again.

I’ve visited twice with family and friends and had a wonderful time on both occasions. The llamas and staff were very friendly! This visit we got to meet some new born llamas which were incredibly cute! Lots of interesting information and lots of interaction with the llamas.

We love visiting Carlson's Lovable Llamas! I've visited with my pre-K child’s class and once with a group of friends for a birthday. Each time, it’s been a well-organized and enjoyable experience. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always happy to share interesting facts about llamas. It’s a welcoming environment, and they do a great job making the experience inclusive for everyone. Beyond the farm, Carlson’s is active in the community—it’s always fun to see their llamas at a local library or school event. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for something a little different and fun for all ages.

We have lived in Waconia for over 20 years but never visited the Llamas until my daughter visited from San Diego. It was a very fun experience. We had a great time and suggest others don't wait so long to visit!

Yelp
We started visiting Carlson's Llovable Llamas in 2022 with a group of friends and it has become an annual tradition that we look forward to. We usually have a group of 30+ people! The visit includes learning about llamas, playing with baby llamas, and taking llamas on a trial walk. My husband found out that there is a Domino's nearby that is able to deliver to the llama farm so we have a lunch in the picnic area after to close out our visit every year. Highly recommend visiting this amazing llama farm!

Yelp
Really loved our experience here. We were lucky to get a private family tour at 8am. We got to see babies, pregnant moms and a huge variety of llamas. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered my daughter's every question. We enjoyed our llama walk but once you get to the dandelions, it's hard to keep pace. They start in time and do time it to end two hours later precisely.

Yelp
Our family loves Carlson's lovable llamas! It is a great place to take kids for a hands on, interactive experience. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's a little pricey. Kids start being charged full price at one year old, and that's too young to even appreciate what's going on, but other than that, it is a wonderful experience.

Yelp
We really enjoyed meeting the llamas & their one token alpaca! My husband said on the drive over that he did not want to participate in walking the llamas on the trail, but once there, he quickly changed his mind . There were numerous baby llamas we visited in the pasture, and the guide gives you the 411 on llamas before picking out your personal llama (or alpaca which I chose) and taking them on a walk. I found myself giggling quite a bit at the llama expressions & was very humored by my husband's llama who kept trying to graze on the walk. At one point, his llama made a smart move & laid down to graze! It was hysterical as he was not budging at my husband's attempts to get him up . Being a horse mom, I asked to hold my alpaca while I got his llama to rise in a second ha ha. It's a fun visit & great photo ops, especially if you have a timid handler among your group .

Yelp
Learned a lot about llamas today. Hubby and I had a lot of fun walking, feeding and grooming them. Can't wait to go back during baby time.

Yelp
Oh my goodness this place is fun for all. Found a steal in Groupon $15 for a family of up to six. I called the farm asking if I needed reservations, what are their hours, and what if I didn't have a family? They laughed saying five friends are fine too. The owner is super friendly and very welcoming. The day we went was a bit chilly. Best to check the weather before going and dress appropriately. I had Hunter boots and glad I wore something that wouldn't be an issue if muddied. You're able to pick any llama and walk them around the property. They let you know the name of your llama. If they stop to eat best to pull them forward vs. to the side. They're more likely to follow. At the end they have food pellets and brushes. It was fun feeding them. It's not slimy at all from what I thought. Their lips are fuzzy, dry, and soft. It some what tickled.

Yelp
I love llamas and when I found out you can walk them, I did my research and found Carlson's llama farm. I had such an amazing time. You get to walk them, pet them, groom and feed them. You also get to learn a lot about llamas and alpacas.

Yelp
I love this place!!! Evan is so kind, and made the experience incredible. I was so surprised that little kids can walk llamas, and how gentle they are. I'm so happy I got to have this experience. Evan informed us a lot about llamas and hope someday we can get one!

Yelp
My kids and I enjoyed our first visit to Carlson's Lloveable Llamas today and it exceeded our high expectations, the best time we've had in a while which can be challenging balancing fun for a 9 year old and 14 year old. The Llamas are so delightful and charming, the owner is really friendly and personable and the farm is idyllic. We greatly enjoyed petting, hugging, walking and brushing the llamas. We will definitely be back, a really fun activity for any age.

Yelp
Even on a rainy day, the llama experience is worth every moment! We loved that the llamas fit our personalities. Lots of photo ops, great merch! Tip your guide, hug your llama!

Yelp
I had the most wonderful experience at Carlsons Llovable Llama farm! I wasn't aware that I had to make a reservation so I showed up with my 4 year old niece for hoping for the best (which I wouldn't recommend doing out of respect for the crew) nonetheless, I was greeted with such love and kindness from everyone there. Especially from two girls; Madie and Libby who gladly took their free time to show me and my niece around. They took us into the baby pen and even let us walk a llama! They were so sweet and so much fun to spend time with! Rick and his family do an amazing job providing work for the 4H community. I love this place and hope it sticks around for many years to come. ( & next time I'll make a reservation )

Yelp
I had a party there -it was probably one of my favorite place's in the world. If you love llamas you NEED to go!!!! It was so fun

Yelp
Truly a one of a kind, amazing experience! The visit started with a little introduction to llamas and learned some really cool facts about them. Then we headed to a field where we were able to walk amongst the llamas, feed them flowers and pet a baby llama. (So incredibly soft!) The highlight for me was next, choosing a llama and taking it for a walk around the property. What gentle, sweet creatures! After the walk we were able to brush and give treats to the llamas, and our visit concluded with a trip to the little store but you don't have to, I just wanted some yarn. I left the farm wishing I could have my very own pet llama! What made the experience such a standout were the hosts. We felt so welcomed, they were knowledgeable and friendly and attentive. I wish this place was a bit closer to my home, but I will be visiting often because it's worth the trip!

Yelp
This place is a dream come true! I was in the area for work and could not resist visiting this magical place. If you are local and have never visited, stop what you are doing and go visit now. If you are from out of town you must schedule a visit. Thank you Carlson's llovable llama for creating wonderful memories that will treasure for a lifetime.

Yelp
This is a WONDERFUL place to visit for both kids and adults! We went out one more morning from 9-11am and Rick was our guide. We learned SO much from him. They are individual time slots, so you really experience it by yourself/your family. We were able to pet the llamas, feed them, brush them, walk them, etc... We had so much fun playing with the babies as well. Very hands on activity! Llamas are very good with children. Awesome summer activity!

Hana R.

Yelp
OBSESSED!!!! This is the best experience for kids, adults or anyone in between. The owners are so kind, willing to let you feed, pet and play with them! Will definitely be going back soon!

Yelp
This is a really cool hidden gem. I visited one Sunday with the kids when we had nothing to do. They had an open house with games, face painting and some food. They have tons of Llamas! You can let the babies and walk the adult Llamas. You can't spend the whole day there but it's good for an hour or so and something different to get the kids out of the house.

Yelp
What a fantastic gem of a farm that I'd give 10 stars if I could! We went for a llama walking tour as a family and had the best experience of our summer. After meeting many happy 4H teens, we were taught about the llamas, got to hold baby llamas and then each of us picked out a furry friend of our own. We got to take them on a nature hike, strolling as slow as we wanted. We got fantastic photos of the kids feeding them clover and llama crazy-teeth smiles.

Yelp
Want to be sure everyone knows about Rick and Carlson's Llama Farm. I bought the Groupon for a group of up to six. Called and scheduled our visit (Rick clearly went out of his way to fit us in) and was blown away to find that we got a personal tour of the llamas and his operation; complete with fun facts about llamas. Super nice guy, great llamas, family fun for all. The visit took about an hour and a half. My teen kids loved it. I'd highly recommend this farm to anyone; young or old.

Liesl W.

Yelp
My daughter held her 9th birthday party here and, in spite of the fact that I was a little nervous about the length of the party (three hours), it was the best party we've ever hosted. Guests and parents are still giving me great feedback about their experience at this unique venue. Rick, the owner, organized and facilitated a three-legged race, a nice hike with the llamas, some education, a little grooming and an obstacle course. Each child got their own furry friend and had a wonderful time. I wish I could post pictures! I'd give it six stars if i could.

Yelp
A big thanks to Carlson's Llama farm for giving our group a fun and educational tour of their Llama herd. Me & my husband and my two siblings and spouses had a great Saturday morning getting to know his Llamas. The best was taking the Llamas for a walk along a trail by the farm and learning their funny characters and how intelligent these animals are. Hope to return soon. Alice
