One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in! The rooms are spacious with plenty of luggage storage, a great shower with strong water pressure/sealed well & doesn’t leak, and even a bathtub in the room. Everything is exceptionally clean, the bed is very comfortable, and housekeeping is both thorough and timely. The reception staff are friendly and very accommodating, and the rooms are quiet with minimal noise. The lobby is beautiful, and they even offer umbrellas for guests to borrow. There’s a Fairview Supermarket right across the street for quick grocery, fruits, or toiletry runs. A short walk takes you to a mall with a food court/bakeries, MRT station nearby, and the local Tangong Hawker Center on the 2nd floor. The location is fantastic with most major attractions just 10 minutes away by Grab, or about a 10-minute walk to Chinatown. There’s parking and a driveway area for easy Grab pickup/drop offs. It honestly can’t get much better than this! There’s both an indoor and outdoor gym, a large pool, good views, and room service/restaurant. Plus there’s a faucet with filter water to help reduce plastic use!

My Stay at Carlton City Hotel Singapore I had a great time at Carlton City Hotel Singapore. The WiFi in-room was strong and worked smoothly the whole stay. Check-in was fast and easy, with no fuss or delays. The hotel’s location near MRT and city transport made getting around simple and convenient. The restaurants and bars at the hotel were solid. I enjoyed good food, and the vibe was pleasant. The hotel also offers a well-equipped gym, which was nice for workouts. There’s an outdoor pool available too. I didn’t use it this trip, but it looked scenic and relaxing, definitely a spot I’d check out next time. And the rooftop bar / lounge gave nice evening vibes and a good setting to unwind. I’ve got to say: since it was my birthday during the stay, I got a complimentary pastry from staff a thoughtful touch that made the stay feel more personal. Also, funny little detail: there was a visible “no durian fruit” sign. I didn’t know about durian until I got a whiff now totally understand why they forbid it. Overall: clean, modern rooms; friendly, professional staff; good amenities; excellent location. I’d absolutely stay at Carlton City Hotel Singapore again.

This hotel will give me great memories of Singapore. From its strategic location, nice food, excellent room service and welcoming staff. From my room on the 23rd floor, I had a great view of the harbor. Strong Wi-Fi too for my meetings. It was a nice experience.

Nice hotel, located in a nice area with a lot of bars, restaurants. Rooms are good, spacious. Confortable bed, nice bathroom. The lighting system is a bit chaotic, not easy to get the light you want. No light entry at the entrance door hence you need to walk to your bed to activate lights if you come back at night. Tv is good, airdrop not working. Hence you need to access hdmi port to plug hdmi cable however hard access to hdmi ports There is an outdoor swimming pool, outdoor gym, small indoor gym with cardio machines and one bench for free weight lifting Metro is close. Breakfast buffet is good, can be improved on drinks as all their juice ( orange and apple) seems more water mixed with a powder or light syrups The staff was kind and professional

I wasn’t even staying at this hotel, but my phone battery had completely died while I was walking nearby. Desperate for help, I went into the lobby hoping someone might lend me a hand. The moment I stepped in, the front desk team greeted me warmly — every single one of them! It already felt like I had walked into a place that genuinely cared about people. When I explained that I wasn’t a guest and just needed to borrow a phone, they didn’t hesitate for a second — instead, they immediately offered to let me charge my phone right there. No questions asked, no hesitation, just kindness. A special shoutout to Fui Yun, the lady who helped me with such warmth and sincerity. Her professionalism and compassion truly stood out. If this is how they treat someone who just walked in off the street, I can only imagine how amazing it must be to actually stay here. The front desk team has definitely won a future guest — me! Management should be proud to have such wonderful people representing their brand. Please, reward them — they’re the kind of staff that make hospitality mean something again.

Probably the worst 4-star hotel I’ve ever stayed. When we arrived around midnight, they sent us to a room on the 7th floor that’s full of mold and dust, with a distinct unpleasant smell. That room was more like a 2-3 star hotel room. After we requested to get a refund, since we wanted to move to a nicer hotel, they offered a higher floor room with complimentary club member perks, which included free breakfast, 2 piece laundry service per day, and all day refreshments at the club lounge. But a lot more problems occurred after that. Their pillows are very uncomfortable so I requested at least 3 times couple days in a row to send us a softer lower pillow, but I never got any, and so the first 2 nights I barely got any sleep. When I called the reception again, tried to request a softer pillow, the woman who answered was very rude, she cut me off while I was speaking multiple times, eventually I had to confront her, to ask her to stop interrupting while I’m speaking, since she didn’t even understand my request. Then on the day of checking out, I called the front desk for a late checkout at 2pm (since we were told it’s ok to do during checking in) the same woman who answered, and told me it’s not available, so I ended up rushing out the room and packing. When I rushed to the lobby to checkout, the front desk then said oh, it’s actually ok for you to checkout at 2pm. This is just unacceptable, how could they have such inconsistent answers for such a simple question!? Some staff were friendly but the overall experience was horrible, I never got any good night sleep at this hotel, on top of the terrible service from the woman who answered the reception calls. Definitely will not come back here again.

I had a great stay during my week in Singapore. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was modern, comfortable, and spotless. The location is excellent—close to Chinatown, Maxwell Food Centre, and several MRT stations. My only drawback is the gym, which was quite small with limited equipment.

Google
Fantastic hotel, fantastic location. Gives you a feeling of being somewhere special as soon as you're in the lobby. Rooms were exceptionally clean and modern. The reason for dropping a star was we had to request the room to be cleaned after being out of the hotel for 7 hours - and ask for basics like tea & coffee to be replaced. The staff from reception to concierge were absolutely fantastic. Specific shout out to Suresh Singh who really helped when getting a taxi after the first Grab driver cancelled because his car was too small!!!! I would absolutely stay here again.

Yelp
The lobby of the hotel was opulent and nicely decorated. However, the staff at the check in counter was subpar. They assigned the same room to me and another guest without knowing it. Instead of being apologetic, the staff blamed us for crowding her counter - and made us moving to the sofas in the lobby. We waited over 20 mins in which she handled other guests before getting to us again. I don't know why she had a bad attitude and pissed at us as she was the one who made the mistake. This hotel made a very bad first impression - paying over US$200 a night for an very unprofessional welcome The room was okay and clean. The hotel was close to multiple hawker centers and convenience to the metro station. I had no complaint about its housekeeping. I would never come back to this hotel nor I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
This is a fantastic hotel, well located in Singapore. I've stayed at this spot a few times and have always received excellent service. The rooms are always clean and spacious. The pool is great since there's great options for shade and sun depending on what you're looking for...you get great city views and creates for an urban oasis. There's a subway/metro station close by so it's easy to get to other spots around the city.

Yelp
It was not a comfortable stay. Something in the road made us itch and hence we're not able to sleep the whole night.

Yelp
Within walking distance of the financial district is Carlton City Hotel. This is a brand new hotel (or feels like one). Careful, taxis aren't quite familiar where it's located. Be ready to tell them it's at 1 Gopeng st. and not the Carlton Hotel (another district). This is a beautiful building that has a fresh, updated and chic feeling. The gorgeous chandelier in the lobby sets the stage for the rest of the hotel. The rooms are modern and accommodations very comfortable. It's outfitted with a pool and mini-gym that never was busy. The high rise bar is worth checking out for the views as well. The staff were extra accommodating, but one occasion I was misunderstood and given a 'yes' answer out of politeness. The front desk was pretty slow in servicing the line that was there for check in and check out as well. Other than this, I'd say everything went well!

Yelp
Super nice, clean and convenient location. It's right across the street from a huge mall with food courts, access to the metro. The room was clean and spotless. We had a great stay!

Yelp
This is a modern and recently updated hotel in Singapore's Chinatown. Only 1 1/2 short blocks away from the subway, the Tanjong Pagar MRT Station, so it's very easy to get around on public transportation from here. Within a 10 minute or so walk from the Maxwell Food Centre. But it may be hot and humid, so getting around in a taxi is another option. Also, the hotel is close to a variety of eateries, from the inexpensive, to bars and nicer restaurants. Some very quaint streets with traditional architecture and hip places to shop and eat. Including some nice bookstores. And there are also convenience stores and neighborhood shops nearby, where the locals frequent. A block over is a modern mini shopping center with more eateries. You can get your morning kaya toast and kopi and runny eggs there in the air conditioned building, while planning out your day's activities. The basic room we stayed in has high ceilings and comfortable beds. So good to come back to a room with air conditioning and shade from the heat and humidity. The bathroom has a standalone shower which has a handheld shower head plus a rain shower. It's high enough for the really tall guests. There is also a bathtub which has a window into the bedroom, but don't worry, you can pull down the shade. A good sized room for 2 guests. There's also a ledge against the window to sit on or place your bags on. Always good to have the extra space for your travel gear. We didn't opt for the higher floor, and thereby higher priced room. I believe higher floor rooms have access to a lounge, too. No views, but we aren't here on our first visit to Singapore to stay in the room. So much to see and food to eat during a short stay. The rooms are reasonably priced, you can book them through travel search engines to compare prices. Very nice service at the front desk, too. A nice place to stay in Singapore if you don't need to be close to somewhere else otherwise.

Yelp
Great hotel for business trips! Hotel is brand new and proximity to the financial district is great. Proximity to nice restaurants in Duxton Rd is a plus. Staff were friendly and accommodative. Room was super clean and amenities meet expectations. Will be definitely staying there again on my next business trip. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We booked at Carlton City Hotel for 12-15 July, purchased on Agoda.com. My travel partner and I could not travel due to an injury that has made me unable to bear weight on my right foot. I want express my disappointment in your hotel's response to this situation. Although the booking was non-refundable, I am surprised you do not have a provision for special circumstances such as an injury. For example, Singapore Airlines kindly waived our rebooking fees when we presented them with proper documentation of the incident. However, your representative only deflected us to Agoda when we called, and then the hotel declined our request when Agoda attempted to cancel our booking. True hospitality is revealed in situations like this, when you have the opportunity to help someone, even though you are not obligated to do so. We were excited to stay at the Carlton and would have happily rebooked at a later date if you would have extended that courtesy. Instead you held strictly to the booking terms and charged us for the stay - literally adding insult to injury. It's a short sighted reaction as our opinion of your brand is quite negative now. I encourage you to review your policy on matters such as this.
