"A Touch of Caledonian Class The plush rooms at this city center option carry a strong hint of Scotland in everything from the judicious hints of tartan in the decor to the complimentary decanters of whisky, gin, and vodka. A rooftop restaurant continues the theme with contemporary takes on traditional Caledonian cuisine."

The location is unmatched for this hotel. It's feet from the train station, around the corner from a metro station and a 3 minute walk from the express bus to the airport I ended my trip here and what a great way to end it. I was able to almost immediately drop off my luggage and start exploring Glasgow thanks to the location. My room was spacious, with a free mini bar. The bathroom included a bath mat to make the shower safer (the first one I've seen all trip). The hotel itself is also within walking distance of many popular attractions including the modern art museum and there were plenty of good restaurants in the area as well. The staff were all super helpful (offering assistance with my bags since I was traveling alone) as well as with restaurant recommendations etc 11/10 would stay again

Room and amenities were fantastic. Our room was upgraded when we arrived and gave us access to the executive lounge which provided even more complimentary food and drink than the complimentary minibar and spirits provided in the room. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel even had a laundry service which was greatly needed at that point in the trip. The rooftop restaurant has decent food, great drinks, and an incredible view. Wish I stayed longer and would come again.

We stayed from July 31 to August 3 in an Executive Double Room with Lounge Access and couldn’t have chosen a better base. The location is unbeatable — right next to Queen Street Station and around the corner from Buchanan Street, perfect for exploring Glasgow on foot. The Executive Lounge was a real treat, with snacks, refreshments, and extra drinks — a great place to meet like-minded travellers enjoying Glasgow’s hospitality. Our minibar was replenished daily (thank you, Mary!) and the personal touches really stood out. Special thanks to Patrick at reception and Mary for making us feel so welcome — People Make Glasgow is especially true here. We didn’t take breakfast, but the rooftop terrace offers fantastic views over the city, George Square (closed for renovations in August), and beyond. Around the hotel you’ll also notice touches inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, from the artwork to the furniture — a delight for art lovers. Our room had a classic style but was spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed, coffee machine, desk, chairs, and everything we could have needed. We liked it so much we even considered extending our stay by two days — the rate offered was excellent, and we genuinely felt wanted there. No doubt we’d happily stay again.

We stayed last weekend in a Club room with lounge access for my 47th Birthday. Cannot fault the friendly staff, the service or the room. We had a fab night away and cant wait to come back. We visited the lounge and had the cream tea then booked a couple of hours in the lounge at night. Absolutely nothing negative to report, we loved our experience. See you again soon. R&A

Great location but hotel rooms are in need of a refresh, carpet is something from the 70s, lighting is poor, bed was ok but pillows dated and going yellow. Wood wardrobes look old, dated and cheap. Decanters a nice touch but do we really need a massive drinks cabinet for three decanters and glasses? Shower was dated too, bathroom needs updating too. Also, plug sockets look like originals from the 80s. Overall, not a four star hotel and for the money, 150plus a night in August, seriously not worthit. This has potential just invest more money to get it up to spec. Far better hotels for less the price in Glasgow.

We love this hotel - the staff are so welcoming and friendly. We’ve stayed a good few times - both for work and pleasure. The hotel is perfectly located - a short walk from the station and right in the heart of the city. ||The reception team were kind enough to relocate our room to an upper floor. Who can resist the complimentary drinks cabinet- a brilliant touch!||Thanks guys, hope to see you soon!

A hotel we visit often when going to concerts or a night out in Glasgow. Very reasonably priced, a very peaceful sleep and added bonus of the complimentary mini bar. My only niggle was the pillows being flat and uncomfortable. Staff were fantastic as always. Cant wait to visit again.

We stayed at the Carlton George last night.|The room was dated and in need of some upgrades (no socket next to bed for charging phone, dark tartan dated decor, poor quality hairdryer missing the filter cover at the back so my hair got caught in it!).|We regularly stay at 4* + hotels but this trip didn’t even feel worthy of 3*.|Two bath towels, no towel for hair, no face clothes and the hotel supplied toiletries all had faulty pumps. |We came in late following a wedding and were woken up at 8am on a Sunday morning by roadworks right outside our room.|Room 211 faces directly on to the busiest street where Glasgow Council are currently implementing pavement/George Square upgrades. Had I realised this, I would never have booked this hotel. This is not the fault of the hotel, but it would have been good to have been allocated a room at the rear of the hotel or have been notified of these works somewhere on their website. |The staff were friendly enough but this room just didn’t feel worth what we paid.||Disappointing as great location but I won’t be returning until some serious upgrades are implemented.

Yelp
Hotel in great location. Great breakfast. Rooms a little dated and elevator malfunctioned and we had to pry our way out. Great price and it was what we expected.

Yelp
I chose this place because it looked close to the train station. It's literally across the street from the train station. So that worked. The hotel itself is delightful. It's not so tall that the rooftop breakfast give you an amazing view. But at seven stories, you get a decent view. Down the street about two blocks is the city square with statues to make fun of lots of selfie opportunities. Also, a great meeting place for folks staying a lesser hotels. I noticed that there are lots of pictures of the booze in the room. I have to say, I took one. Decanters of actual whiskey, gin, and vodka - not your average hotel. But I decided to post a picture of the artwork in the hallway instead. Quick note about the staff: REALLY great staff. Two of us in my party needed to print something. Brian's way important, mine was not. But we both received great service and a concern for our needs. Between all that and early check-in, looking after our bags, and helping out at every turn, we were very pleased with the staff. Overall, a good value and a great location.

Yelp
The entry to the hotel is so welcoming and inviting with the roaring fire. Staff ate so helpful and pleasant. The room is faultless with a stocked mini bar with everything you could want. The room included dressing gown and slippers. The perfect way to unwind. The executive lounge had unlimited drinks and light bites. We just love this gem in the middle of the city centre.

Yelp
This is a nice hotel and the rooms are fairly spacious. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We got the executive lounge access offer, but considering what they give you complimentary in the room, I don't think the executive lounge is that great of deal. There were basic liquors and mixers available, red and white wine, and a selection of beers. The lite snacks were some cheese and crackers, and slices of pepperoni and then some jars of popcorn and candy were available. I guess they do limit the number of people per time slot, but no staff were checking on the room during our slot so if someone else in the room eats all of the snacks... they are not restocked.

Yelp
We stayed in the Carlton George for a single night (September 2018) after a long flight in from Los Angeles and it was a wonderful stay in a very comfortable room. We stayed in an Executive Room with Club Access and it was absolutely worth it. We had received food on the plane, so we didn't feel like eating out. The snacks (crackers, cheese, some jams and olives) and drinks in the club were the perfect amount for the night until breakfast the next morning. The room and the entire hotel were both very quiet and comfortable. The mattress was great and the shower had great pressure. Plus, the complimentary drinks and snacks in the room were a nice addition. We definitely drank some of the whisky and ate some of the snacks. The service was outstanding. We didn't have the right kind of charger when we arrived, but the concierge let us borrow a charger for the night and showed us on a map where to go to find a charger. He also helped us with parking, which was a little tricky due to construction in the area. We managed to park in George Square overnight and just moved the car in the morning.

Yelp
Lovely spot for afternoon tea- very friendly service and weather permitting a really nice view from the rooftop restaurant. You do not need to stay at the hotel to stop in for a bite to eat and it is nicely located beside Queen st station, George square and all the city centre shopping. We had a vegetarian in our group and they were more than happy to accommodate with sandwich choices and a diverse selection of yummy cakes were offered too.

Yelp
Good location, good breakfast, most of the staff are great... some need a pep talk or new vocation but the good ones make up for the rest... would recommend and will return.... some updating is needed... TVs are old and HVAC not good... however a nice base camp in Glasgow.

Yelp
The Carton George is a lovely boutique hotel ideally located in the Merchant City area of Glasgow. The hotel has 64 rooms varying from superior to executive to club. Personally I prefer the look of the new, subtler, contemporary rooms to the more old fashioned rooms which look a bit gaudy. However all the rooms come with cosy robes and slippers, crystal decanters of whiskey, gin and sherry, a complementary mini bar and luxurious toiletries. The Carlton George is known best for its rooftop Windows Restaurant which boosts stunning views of the Glasgow skyline. The food served is classics such as steak au poivre and chicken supreme. Price wise you can expect to pay upwards of £15 for a main course. The quality is excellent though and combined with the amazing views it's a price worth paying.

Yelp
Very nice place to stay if you're ever in Glasgow. The room was very nice. The view from the rooftop restaurant was amazing, the food was good also. The staff was very helpful. The hotel is right in the middle of the city centre shopping area. The only downside was the parking is a bit far from the Hotel.

Yelp
Very traditional and quaint hotel very well located in the centre of the town; tartan decor - but still tasteful. Large amounts of free alcohol available both in the rooms and the club lounge. Possibly a bit pricey - especially if you dont drink.

Yelp
The first thing that attracted me to this hotel was that it is four stars so i thought it could not be that bad.It is very close to glasgow queen street station and the underground. The entrance has lovely marble flooring-very annoying when they forget to put a wet floor sign down and you slip on it!!!.The person i went with was disabled so this hotel was goos as it has disabled access and parking. The lift was working when i went. The hotel was not a bad price either,i have paid more for worse hotels. The staff were helpful-they helped me with the wheelchair and my luggage.

Yelp
ovely hotel. rooms excellent and comfortable. air conditioning not working just turn it off and open the window as the rooms are very warm. the satff are efficent and nothing is a problem to them. excellent location to all amenities shopping, bars, clubs, and underground. do not go for breakfast. we waited 45 minutes till they replenished the breakfast bar and eventually got up a left. went to local starbucks for a coffee and coissiant. told duty manager who was polite but our bill did not reflect our complaint, we had to pay the full amount. all in all for location , comfort , and staff we will stay there again.
