"A Touch of Caledonian Class The plush rooms at this city center option carry a strong hint of Scotland in everything from the judicious hints of tartan in the decor to the complimentary decanters of whisky, gin, and vodka. A rooftop restaurant continues the theme with contemporary takes on traditional Caledonian cuisine."

Ignore the negative reviews. First stay in this lovely hotel. Booked a club room. On arriving and during my stay staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Lift & corridors were clean & bright. Room was lovely, clean, bright and comfortable with amenities and perks for the room type. Unfortunately I was unable to take advantage of the club / executive lounge or dinner / breakfast on this occasion. Will definitely be booking again for my trips to Glasgow in the subsequent months. Would highly recommend.

Our rooms ( we stayed twice) were terrific, with complimentary spirits and minibar provided. Great 7th floor executive lounge. The dining/breakfast room was lovely. Staff overall were exemplary, but especially Stacey in the dining/bar area. Such a delightful person, so warmly engaging and conversational, but not intrusive. A great ambassador for the hotel, and for Scotland!

A very warm welcome I received at this hotel. I got an upgrade upon check out and was able to use the executive lounge during my stay, well worth it! It was great as a solo traveller in a relaxed lounge, with access to refreshments throughout my stay and snacks. Music on the speakers in the lounge at night, really enjoyed it. |Also free mini bar. Would definitely stay again as this was convenient to the shops and eateries. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable.

Checked in one night for a wee anniversary treat. Honestly hands down one of the best hotels in Glasgow. We booked an executive room which gave us access to the executive lounge during the day and then again for 2.5 hours at night. Absolutely brilliant. We got a mini afternoon tea and coffees and then at night you can pick from a range of alcoholic drinks for free. Also the room has a complementary mini bar and decanters either vodka, whisky or gin. Never had anything like this when staying in other hotels. The staff couldn’t be nicer and chatted away. Honestly would 💯 recommend to anyone. We are booking back in for another night away here ❤️

The Carlton George is exquisite! Staff are welcoming and accommodating. Rooms are tidy and attractive. I’ve traveled for work for many years, and the bed was the best in which I’ve EVER slept! Any request was met with enthusiasm. Any question was helpfully answered. Hospitality at 5⭐️!

Great place to stay in the city, it’s close to everything. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We had a bathtub large enough to soak in, wonderful after a long flight. The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful. AND the free MiniBar!!! What a treat, amazing what these (little?) things mean, just made our welcome so much more special. Highly recommend!

One night stay. We were upgraded to bigger room, complementary mini bar and access to lounge. Nice surprise. Room was large and had AC, we were so happy about that. Furniture, decor etc definitely needs upgrading but we felt it added to its charm. Bathroom good size. Shower was ok. Arran handwash/body lotion/shower gel etc (After the rain) which was lovely. Didn’t use coffee machine. Good variety in mini bar. Bed was ok but not overly comfy. Lounge had decent variety drinks and nibbles. Breakfast was fine. All staff we met/dealt with were friendly with a smile. We would book again, definitely even though it needs a refurb.|Only negative….. we arrived 1.5 hours before 3pm check in time. Room was ready but if we wanted to check in then it would cost £10. Why?! Room was ready. Thought bit mean. I know it’s not lot but it’s the principle.

cannot say enough good words about the place. Great location, great environment. Most important is great service. Everybody was so helpful. My luggage was delayed by the airline. The people at the hotel offered me tons to make my life easier. It was a lovely experience at Glasgow because Murphy and other receptionists at the Carlton George. Thank you guys very much.

Yelp
Hotel in great location. Great breakfast. Rooms a little dated and elevator malfunctioned and we had to pry our way out. Great price and it was what we expected.

Yelp
I chose this place because it looked close to the train station. It's literally across the street from the train station. So that worked. The hotel itself is delightful. It's not so tall that the rooftop breakfast give you an amazing view. But at seven stories, you get a decent view. Down the street about two blocks is the city square with statues to make fun of lots of selfie opportunities. Also, a great meeting place for folks staying a lesser hotels. I noticed that there are lots of pictures of the booze in the room. I have to say, I took one. Decanters of actual whiskey, gin, and vodka - not your average hotel. But I decided to post a picture of the artwork in the hallway instead. Quick note about the staff: REALLY great staff. Two of us in my party needed to print something. Brian's way important, mine was not. But we both received great service and a concern for our needs. Between all that and early check-in, looking after our bags, and helping out at every turn, we were very pleased with the staff. Overall, a good value and a great location.

Yelp
The entry to the hotel is so welcoming and inviting with the roaring fire. Staff ate so helpful and pleasant. The room is faultless with a stocked mini bar with everything you could want. The room included dressing gown and slippers. The perfect way to unwind. The executive lounge had unlimited drinks and light bites. We just love this gem in the middle of the city centre.

Yelp
This is a nice hotel and the rooms are fairly spacious. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We got the executive lounge access offer, but considering what they give you complimentary in the room, I don't think the executive lounge is that great of deal. There were basic liquors and mixers available, red and white wine, and a selection of beers. The lite snacks were some cheese and crackers, and slices of pepperoni and then some jars of popcorn and candy were available. I guess they do limit the number of people per time slot, but no staff were checking on the room during our slot so if someone else in the room eats all of the snacks... they are not restocked.

Yelp
We stayed in the Carlton George for a single night (September 2018) after a long flight in from Los Angeles and it was a wonderful stay in a very comfortable room. We stayed in an Executive Room with Club Access and it was absolutely worth it. We had received food on the plane, so we didn't feel like eating out. The snacks (crackers, cheese, some jams and olives) and drinks in the club were the perfect amount for the night until breakfast the next morning. The room and the entire hotel were both very quiet and comfortable. The mattress was great and the shower had great pressure. Plus, the complimentary drinks and snacks in the room were a nice addition. We definitely drank some of the whisky and ate some of the snacks. The service was outstanding. We didn't have the right kind of charger when we arrived, but the concierge let us borrow a charger for the night and showed us on a map where to go to find a charger. He also helped us with parking, which was a little tricky due to construction in the area. We managed to park in George Square overnight and just moved the car in the morning.

Yelp
Lovely spot for afternoon tea- very friendly service and weather permitting a really nice view from the rooftop restaurant. You do not need to stay at the hotel to stop in for a bite to eat and it is nicely located beside Queen st station, George square and all the city centre shopping. We had a vegetarian in our group and they were more than happy to accommodate with sandwich choices and a diverse selection of yummy cakes were offered too.

Yelp
Good location, good breakfast, most of the staff are great... some need a pep talk or new vocation but the good ones make up for the rest... would recommend and will return.... some updating is needed... TVs are old and HVAC not good... however a nice base camp in Glasgow.

Yelp
The Carton George is a lovely boutique hotel ideally located in the Merchant City area of Glasgow. The hotel has 64 rooms varying from superior to executive to club. Personally I prefer the look of the new, subtler, contemporary rooms to the more old fashioned rooms which look a bit gaudy. However all the rooms come with cosy robes and slippers, crystal decanters of whiskey, gin and sherry, a complementary mini bar and luxurious toiletries. The Carlton George is known best for its rooftop Windows Restaurant which boosts stunning views of the Glasgow skyline. The food served is classics such as steak au poivre and chicken supreme. Price wise you can expect to pay upwards of £15 for a main course. The quality is excellent though and combined with the amazing views it's a price worth paying.

Yelp
Very nice place to stay if you're ever in Glasgow. The room was very nice. The view from the rooftop restaurant was amazing, the food was good also. The staff was very helpful. The hotel is right in the middle of the city centre shopping area. The only downside was the parking is a bit far from the Hotel.

Yelp
Very traditional and quaint hotel very well located in the centre of the town; tartan decor - but still tasteful. Large amounts of free alcohol available both in the rooms and the club lounge. Possibly a bit pricey - especially if you dont drink.

Yelp
The first thing that attracted me to this hotel was that it is four stars so i thought it could not be that bad.It is very close to glasgow queen street station and the underground. The entrance has lovely marble flooring-very annoying when they forget to put a wet floor sign down and you slip on it!!!.The person i went with was disabled so this hotel was goos as it has disabled access and parking. The lift was working when i went. The hotel was not a bad price either,i have paid more for worse hotels. The staff were helpful-they helped me with the wheelchair and my luggage.

Yelp
ovely hotel. rooms excellent and comfortable. air conditioning not working just turn it off and open the window as the rooms are very warm. the satff are efficent and nothing is a problem to them. excellent location to all amenities shopping, bars, clubs, and underground. do not go for breakfast. we waited 45 minutes till they replenished the breakfast bar and eventually got up a left. went to local starbucks for a coffee and coissiant. told duty manager who was polite but our bill did not reflect our complaint, we had to pay the full amount. all in all for location , comfort , and staff we will stay there again.
