The hotel benefits from a great location and friendly staff, but unfortunately the positives ended there for us. The bedroom, although dated, looked acceptable at first glance. However, the cleanliness was far below standard. We found hair on the bathroom tiles, and the glasses in the minibar still had lipstick marks on them. The coffee station’s automatic light kept switching on whenever we walked past, and when I tried to find a way to turn it off, I was shocked by the amount of dust behind it. As a former housekeeper, who carried out regular deep cleans,it was clear that this room hadn’t had a deep clean in a very long time.||The bed itself was comfortable, but the pillows were flat and of poor quality, with no extras in the cupboard. This made relaxing and watching TV in bed quite uncomfortable. Any chance of a long lie was ruined when we were woken at 5:45am by a beer keg delivery directly outside our room, with the driver loudly throwing kegs off the vehicle for nearly an hour.||The lounge area had potential, but it was cold and lacked atmosphere — no music, no TV, and not enough heating to make it inviting. Parking was also an issue. We followed the postcode provided on the booking confirmation, only to be told at the hotel that it was the wrong car park. As a result, we ended up paying £36 for less than 24 hours.||Overall, the stay was disappointing, and we don’t feel we would return.
