I and my partner went to dine in at Carlton Wine Room during our trip to Melbourne. This was one of the best experience that we had. We were greeted warmly by the staff and luckily we got a table right next to the kitchen, so we could see how hard the team worked to put all the dishes together.
The Stracciatella, pickled mushroom and potato focaccia was to die for. We were told that it could be done as half serve in case we want to try many different dishes on the menu. Yet, I was pretty sure that no one could resist but finishing the whole portion. My second favourite would be duck & pork croquettes and yellow beans. They looked simple but were packed with layers of flavours.
Also, we were taken care by Alex who had the best recommendations of wine pairing with each dish that we had. We really enjoyed talking to him about different wines and the tasting profile.
We had yoghurt cream and a few treats from the kitchen team as desserts, they were so good that we even forgot to take photos before digging in. We would like to shout out for Cat in the kitchen as he was a very humble chef and easy to talk to.
Overall, this experience made our trip more enjoyable and we couldn’t wait to come back in the near future. Thank you Carlton Wine Room’s team!
