Carmen’s Cafe Nicole is a breakfast gem that brings diner-style delights in generous portions! The friendly staff made our morning, even though they were busy and a bit understaffed. We didn’t mind the slower service one bit because the food was worth the wait. Perfect for families, this spot offers a variety of options that everyone can enjoy. A fantastic start to any day!

Our waitress was lovely and very attentive and the view was nice. The food was very expensive compared to other places and sausage gravy and biscuits ok not as good as blueberry muffin. Home fries were not cooked through and soggy as well as very salty. It was $16. The coffee was about 4 in high cups d $4. The lemon french toast was not dipped in the egg mix just fldry bread fried up and very poor wonder quality bread also very sweet $16 also with nothing on the side. They should be using good quality bread for that price. Music was loud and very unappealing.

Great place! Crispy bacon, eggs cooked right, and great environment. The eggs Benny is as advertised, thick ham & the hollandaise was good. Outdoor patio seating accommodation and pet friendly. We brought our dog & the staff brought him a giant bowl of water & gave him bacon! Reasonably priced. Breakfast for 2, two coffees, OJ came to about $39. Fun - Friendly - Great.

We had an excellent breakfast today. We arrived shortly before they stopped serving breakfast at 11. (We've seen reviews that said 11:30, but the breakfast menu said 11.) The staff was super accommodating. I had forgotten my service dog's mat for the floor and it was raining out, so I preferred not to have her lay directly on the tile. They gave us a rug for her to lay on and she was super comfy. That level of service was above and beyond, and meant a lot to me. They also knew how to treat a service dog, ignoring her since she was working. I'm happy to know their outside patio is dog-friendly. We'll definitely come back when it's nice out to sit outside and have her off-duty so she can say hello to the wait staff. All of our food was delicious. I used my husband's hot salsa for my home fries to spice them up a bit, but otherwise everything was perfect as is. They have signs reminding you that they are a small kitchen and not to expect a quick meal. We were served drinks right away and our food didn't take too long to come out. We were in and out within an hour and a half, having a nice leisurely meal. It was busy but not crowded when we ate there. The atmosphere is pleasant - a nice, clean seaside café with friendly wait staff. Our waitress did a great job remembering our order without having to write it down. They have a bathroom for their customers. The seating inside the restaurant includes cushioned benches or chairs and tables. There's music playing at a good volume - we didn't have to speak loudly to hear each other. I have sensitivity issues to sound and hard seating, and was very comfortable the whole meal. We will definitely be back!

Google
(They are thieves look at you bill) After you eat here it you will leave with a bitter taste on your mouth. Order the sandwich on the menu, and they charged me 4 bucks' side ham, instead of $1, like what is in the menu plus another 20% of who knows what. Then, I took the 4 buck of but still charged the commission based on the wrong price and tax. I shouldn't have to get aggravated after eating, so I just left as it was. I hope it was worth it for them.. Such thievery stay away from these deceiving people.

Google
The food was alright, nothing special, wouldn’t recommend it but it wasn’t bad. However the food was expensive considering the quality and small portions. The main reason we were extremely disappointed in this place is how dirty it was. Sugar packets and stains all over the ground, our table had crumbs and food smears, the menus were so beaten up I couldn’t believe they were handing them to people. One of them was so ripped on one side that you couldn’t see three of the menu items. Just felt very “icky” in there, which is a shame because they have a beautiful view of the waterfront and the location could be put to much better use! Unfortunately their frialator was down when we were there, and no seafood. These things happen, but it really wound up adding to the disappointing experience.

Aria’s customer service is phenomenal. Awesome outdoor eating area. Food was great. Definitely a warm and welcoming vibe.

Google
Prices on menu on table are old, and about $5 more then advertised. Bloody Mary was ok but no liquor it in but not priced that way even though say they used vodka. 2 drinks, two breakfast $60+, very pricy. But portions are big. Nice location. Service was very slow about 20m to take my order then another 40m for it to come out. they offer Gluten free bread.

Geniave H.

Yelp
Food and service was great! Fairly fast for a sit down restaurant and very welcoming! We came in hungry and left with our belly's full. We loved the outdoor seating!

Artem A.

Yelp
Our party of 3 used this place's paper sign-in system, only for a couple ti skip the whole thing and was seated instead of us. Ridiculous. 10 minutes to place the order and 40 minutes from when we were seated until food came out. Waitress clarified an order of hashbrows, still brought home fries. Took another 10 minutes to get the check. Food is mediocre.

Tommy H.

Yelp
I was expecting diner breakfast but was pleasantly surprised. I had the California omelette which was very tasty. Filled with mushrooms and sauté spinach. Service was great. I'll go back again when I'm in the area.

Yelp
We may give Carmen's another shot next time we're in Plymouth but on this visit our service was horrible. It was busy and we got sat at the bar looking right into the kitchen/drink making area. This did not help our chances of trying to get anyone's attention. We sat for over 45 minutes after ordering two omelettes and toast before our food finally came out. We were told multiple times that our order was next but then we'd see multiple orders leave...just not ours. We're pretty confident it just didn't get put in. We also went through our coffee and mimosa and had to flag two different people down to get water ... we were never offered refills.

Ruchika M.

Yelp
Small restaurant that has an outdoor patio In warmer months. We waited about 10-15 min for a table, not too bad. They seemed low on servers but the couple that were working were doing a great job- Working quickly without losing their kindness. It can be such a difficult and thankless job. Once we were seated our coffees and juice came quick. Food overall did not take as long as we feared. The home fries were a bit overcooked and under seasoned. I enjoyed the rest of the huevos rancheros. The hashbrowns were also lacking flavor but omelette was good. I'd definitely give this place another shot if I lived nearby! They have lunch and dinner and are right on water st with water views, nice spot!

Elle F.

Yelp
The service here was friendly and the food was pretty good! I wished all the ingredients of my dish were mixed in instead of on top, since that made it pretty hard to eat. I also thought the breakfast potatoes needed some seasoning. On the other hand, the iced coffee was super yummy and I appreciated that they had oat milk available! Overall, the flavors were good and the ambiance was super cute. Next time, I want to try some of the other house specials because they sound incredible. Definitely get here early if you're planning on it, as they get full fast and the kitchen is pretty small. Give them a try!

Yelp
The location of this restaurant is fantastic, and the breakfast is 2 star at best, I frequently go out to breakfast all over the state. I've been here multiple times and unfortunately the food is just not up to par. Carmen's could easily be the best breakfast spot in town. Once again I left feeling disappointed. The cleanliness could use some attention not bad just needs some care thru out the service. This restaurant has the potential to be a five-star spot. The location suggests it could be so much more. Hopefully, management takes notice and steps up and makes small but needed improvements, I have high hopes to visit again and see them killing it!

Susan B.

Yelp
I wasn't sure what to expect because the reviews were so varied but my breakfast was delicious and the service was friendly and impeccable. I got the breakfast tacos. The portion was extremely generous and came with tomato salsa and fruit salad. There seemed to be at least three eggs, with cheese and a corn salsa. I would highly recommend Cafe Nicole.

Nadine O.

Yelp
Awesome cafe serving hot coffee and awesome breakfast with gorgeous view of the bay. Their Lobster Eggs Benedict was loaded generously with chunks of sweet lobster! Hubby said his French Toast was good too but wished he had ordered a Lobster Benedict too after seeing the delight on my face and my refusal to have a conversation with him during breakfast - too busy enjoying my breakfast - I did share sine with him - a bite, LOL!

Susan A.

Yelp
Had breakfast there 2/9/24. Basic coffee / eggs bacon etc Delish ! Homey atmosphere. A "take your time and enjoy" place . Look at the ocean waves while relaxing with a hot cup of coffee. A real locals place on the waterfront Currently construction is going on in the street (town road work ) and blocks their sign. Just know they are there as they could use the recognition ! You won't be disappointed

Eddie O.

Yelp
Hidden gem alert... Let me start by saying the cafe is small and crowded which, if your timing isn't right, you stand the chance of waiting for a table. By the way, I always say "if a place is crowded, that's a good sign." It was a good sign, and due to the wait, it was slow as well. It does appear, that in the summer months, outdoor seating might be available too. I had a solid meal with the Irish Benedict which was very good and cooked to perfection. Our server(s) (team effort) were friendly and solid. My pancake connoisseur was a tad put off by the wait but quickly realized that it was worth it. She pounded down the fluffy cakes like she was getting paid to do so. Carmen's pancakes quickly rose up to the number two spot on her rankings and she can't wait to come back. Maybe someday I'll try one of their delicious looking Bloody Mary's (bottoms up!).

Patrick G.

Yelp
Carmen's Cafe Nicole is a go-to breakfast spot for us. Their omelettes are excellent and they have a host of Eggs Benedict options, including a hash version they dub the Irish Benedict. On my most recent visit I had their chili cheese omelette, which was both filling and delicious. They are very accommodating of modest requests, e.g. a quick whipped cream and strawberry smoky face on a child's pancake. The space is small and features a casual beach/nautical decor. There is also some outdoor seating on a side deck overlooking Plymouth Harbor. Keep in mind that they stop seating people for breakfast at 11:30 and they take a little bit of time to switch gears to their lunch menu. While I haven't been there for lunch yet, the menu looks great and I'm looking forward to making the trip.

Yelp
While visiting Plymouth this cafe was recommended to us by a local for breakfast. The staff was all pleasant and attentive. The interior was simple and comfortable. The food was excellent and we are very glad we followed the advice given to us.

Anthony D.

Yelp
Extremely poor service... Was a beautiful day and requested to sit outside and they refused to seat us outside while people were eating outside and then proceeded to seat everyone else outside after us. Service was also extremely slow they kept saying they'd come take our order time and time again leaving us waiting for 20 minutes with just our waters and our fingers up our butts. 10/10 would never recommend this restaurant to anyone and I'm local and would've loved to come here all the time to sit by the water and enjoy breakfast. The waitress ended up giving us a table outside after asking again when we saw multiple tables, but she had us bring all our plates and silverware out and proceeded to attack us with harsh sarcasm saying things like "I know you guys reallllly wanted to sit outside"

Heather H.

Yelp
Awesome food. Great service. Good vibes. Be kind and don't ruin it for the regulars that have clearly been coming here for years.

Donna B.

Yelp
Good view... Wrong drinks, had to beg for refills. Didn't bring out all of our food, had to be reminded. Food was ok and that's being kind. Had to track them down to pay the bill. Wasn't the best experience.

Katie R.

Yelp
Service was quick. Location was great. Lobster roll was hearty and good. Could have had a thicker roll and fries could have been crispier or more seasoned but, all in all everyone's food was satisfactory. The single bathroom was rough and entrance couldn't be redone and cleaned but, to be expected in an older town.

Michael D.

Yelp
My "go to" breakfast spot when I'm in Plymouth, always a good meal here. Plenty of options on the menu to suit every taste, including lots of healthy ones. I usually go for the benedicts or the biscuits & gravy but I've explored the menu and everything so far has been excellent. I find the potatoes (your choice of hash browns or home fries) a little bland personally but there's ketchup (any maybe hot sauce?) at every table. Booze on the menu too...gotta love that, pairs perfect with breakfast any day of the week. Everybody here is super attentive and is on top of anything you may need. Prices are good. Indoor and outdoor eating available (weather permitting) but it doesn't hold many so come early if you want to avoid waiting.

Donna H.

Yelp
I recently had breakfast here. Website said it opened at 7:00 am but didn't open until 7:30. Seems like they were short handed as the service was very slow. The waitress was pleasant but wasn't impressed with the food or service.

Addy G.

Yelp
Sitting in the heart of downtown, Plymouth on the waterfront, Carmen's Cafè Nicole offers delicious breakfast and lunch items with a breathtaking view, exquisite service, and an all-around energetic environment. I met my sister and her best friend there with my eight month old son, husband, and puppy. My sister put in a reservation and was able to get an outdoor table within a half hour. It was a busy, Sunday around peak brunch time, and we were still able to be helped almost right away. There was not a seat in the house that was empty. This was my first time ever here, although I grew up in Plymouth. I was aware of it, as it is saturated amongst gift shops and other touristy locations. I was so impressed by the warm welcome, the excellent service, and the fact that they catered to my son and my puppy so well. In fact one of the owners came over and asked what my puppy would like to eat, I told her she actually loves fruit. Less than a minute, a fruit bowl came over and she placed it right next to my puppy's water bowl that was brought over right away. It's not often that you find pet friendly places in Plymouth, so I was so happy. We don't go out to eat much when I'm home and have the puppy because of that reason, so it was a treat for the whole family. I chose a traditional two egg breakfast and it was delicious. The portions are larger and shareable, the prices are fair especially for how much food you get, the service is excellent, and the ambience is great. I already can't wait to return with my family.

John E.

Yelp
First and last time we will come here. Slowest service we have ever encountered. Sat down at 8:55 AM, we received our meals 30 minutes later. Waitress never stopped to check on us, never apologized for taking so long. We saw people eat their meals and complete them before getting our food. Ridiculous. We had breakfast, the easiest meal to prepare and it was less than spectacular. Bill was $50 for very little food and drinks. Note: hot coffee- $3 iced coffee- $4...uh...am I missing something here?

Nicole M.

Yelp
Good for lunch but breakfast isn't the best. It is small so we had to wait 10 mins for a table since 3 were dirty and not cleaned off. Start lunch serving at 1pm, so we got breakfast. My sandwich was burnt. The bagel was black on the other side! The eggs and ham had some char on it too. Overall it was food. I recommend you wait for their lunch. It's much better. Or go down the street to water street cafe!!

Clark M.

Yelp
Best lobster roll I've had ! This place is cute and affordable - we ordered Lobster roll and clam chowder - both were excellent ! I would definitely come back again !

Kay R.

Yelp
I love to frequent restaurants that are not chains. This one is owned by a woman that knows how to hustle. Every item we ate was delicious. And the ones we saw getting delivered to other tables looked so good too! A shout out to the small fruit side salad-all fresh cut up fruit and berries. We will eat here again on our way to Cape Cod as often as we can!

Paola G.

Yelp
A delicious brunch for us today!! We got into Plymouth and needed to eat!! Beautiful restaurant! Great service and delicious plates. I ordered the eggs Benedict. I added the avocado and sautéed spinach. My husband had the buiscits and gravy!! Yum!! Melissa was a great server. Checked on us over and over. The service was great!! Highly recommend stopping by here!!

Angela G.

Yelp
At first we weren't going to go here because of the low review stars but it was the only place that said dogs were "welcome" so we decided to go anyway and we were really really glad we did. We missed the breakfast menu but in spite of really wanting breakfast my daughter and I couldn't have had a better meal! I had the healthy fit grilled fish with vegetables and a salad and literally cleaned my plate. My daughter will do her own review here and maybe tell you what she had and it looked great! When the server asked how I like my meal I told her it was wonderful and I told her I was confused why her place got such poor reviews on Yelp? She said mainly because of the slow service but the hostess did warn us when we got seated that their kitchen was tiny and it was very hard to create the meals quickly. We weren't in a hurry so the long wait didn't seem long especially since they were so accommodating with our pup! They gave her a giant bowl of ice water and several strips of bacon. We had a really nice conversation with the several servers that waited on us and they were very pleasant with our obnoxious add-ons that we tend to require (we aren't the easiest customers). I asked the table next to us who had a really delicious looking breakfast, "how is breakfast here?", she replied, "it's always excellent!". That was a clear indication they were regulars and a good referral. We'll definitely be back and get there before 11:30 for breakfast. So if you want fast food and service, ok this is not the place but if you aren't in a hurry or aren't crazy hungry (although the portions were excellent) and you can relax and wait, this place will please your pallet for sure

Yelp
I hate to even give this place one star!! Was sat by very nice sweet attentive hostess, only know this because d are he said she wasn't a waitress. She brought me a water we're and a menu I told her I was all to to order. Only 2 tables that had customers at plenty staffed but after 45 min of waiting for someone to my order I left and yes the hostess asked me 3 times if someone came by to take my order there's no excuse for this type of service!!!! I can only imagine it's still in business because of its location on waterfront with views

Jeff S.

Yelp
Wife and I had a wonderful lunch here. She got the scallops and I got the fish and chips. Best fish and chips I've had in years. Perfectly battered and fresh. Halibut was so much better than cod. My wife's scallops were perfectly cooked. Most and tasty. The portions are very generous and the wait staff is very attentive. To top it off the prices are reasonable.

Michael N.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch two weeks ago, They said that they were "converting to lunch. It took 20 minutes for them to even take my order and another 20-25 minutes for them to serve it. Food was good though....

Bill F.

Yelp
Food was excellent! They are short staffed and the wait was a bit, but the food was fresh, spicy and delicious. Prices very reasonable. Place could use a clean up, dirty windows etc but recommended.

Christina H.

Yelp
We are currently being held hostage....45 mins and still no food. Drink refills are obviously of no concern.

Sue S.

Yelp
Good location on the harbor with Good prices insures there's always a crowd. Service was ambivalent but food, when it finally came out, was pretty good. We stuck with basics; French toast (not the lemon ricotta, which not only looked delicious at another table but looked like it would feed a small family) and poached eggs (not Benedict). French toast was tasty and the poached eggs were perfect, coffee was not bad either. The place is a bit touristy and, as I keep saying, service is slow and somewhat ambivalent, maybe they could teach the staff to smile??

Cynthia S.

Yelp
My daughter & myself went to breakfast there. It's a great place. I got a regular eggs & bacon . My daughter loves the avacodo toast breakfast.. Very great & I had never heard of it before. My daughter always orders this when she goes to breakfast here. Good food, good service, easy & yummy.

Nicholas G.

Yelp
Food -- excellent. Ambiance -- excellent. Menu -- excellent. Location -- excellent. Parking -- excellent. Service -- dicey. Unpleasant on three out of four occasions. Once again, I left this morning wishing that I had gone elsewhere for breakfast. If you don't expect or consider decency as a factor, this place is exceptional. Otherwise, maybe not.

Leah V.

Yelp
Very friendly service and delicious coffee drinks! We sat at the counter and had a nice breakfast. I had an omelette with artichokes (almost never on a breakfast menu!) and roasted red peppers. Husband had biscuits and gravy. The hash browns were a bit weak, but overall a good meal.

Eliza S.

Yelp
Great staff, great Location, and good diner food. The kitchen music and the dining room music competed a little bit, which was bizzare and heard both. Lol. But come check them out. Support a local woman owned business.

J.j. S.

Yelp
A lot of menu options, real only positive. Limited indoor seating. Some outdoor seating. Pretty sure I could of got better service from a 4-year-old child just learning to speak. Wouldn't come back, a lot of better options on the street. Keep walking.

Patrick M.

Yelp
Bacon egg and cheese on an English is the best around and half the price of all the other local breakfast places

Rachel N.

Yelp
Always our go to for breakfast! Best Bloody Mary's around. Best breakfast around and the staff are always pleasant.

Lmb L.

Yelp
Pass by this place - hot as hell outside and no AC! Service was ok but it took forever for the food to come. When it finally did come it was subpar. Home fries about the size of a dime - no seasoning and some hard as a rock - I would be embarrassed to serve them in my own home! Water Street Cafe was WAY better! Go there!

Diana R.

Yelp
Im not even sure where to begin. The inside decor is strange and dusty. There was a woman setting up homemade product (ie: masks, purses, scaves, jewelry. Yes it made no sense) in a glass case and everytime she bent over I could see her underwear. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the taco trio. You can chose your meats on the taco. So i chose shredded pork, chicken and regular taco meat. The shredded meat was flavorless and dry. The taco meat was more flavorful but so greasy. The corn tortilla was weird. It was like cardboard. The rice was weird. Needless to say, I was unimpressed.

Jenn T.

Yelp
Cannot say enough about the wonderful staff!!!! My friend and I came in and were going to sit outside on a not so nice day, they immediately accommodated us and made us feel welcome and comfortable inside. The food portions were large and generous and the food itself was delicious. Drinks were a little pricey, but we didn't mind too much as we were SO happy with the friendly staff!!!!!

Brittany N.

Yelp
Food was excellent, chili amazing and hearty. Only thing is-the server added 20% gratuity to our party of four and did not point out or clarify charge on the bill. There is also a $4.99 charge to pay with a credit card. Just be aware of what they are adding to your bill. Probably would have tipped more than 20% before the charge.

Madeline H.

Yelp
When you walk in the staff says it themselves, please be patient. I have been going here since i moved to the area and while it is hit or miss sometimes... the waiters are very friendly and will help you with any issues. The food most importantly is delicious and quite a value. I will support this place no metter how many times they get my order wrong its delish

Steve B.

Yelp
Ruined Sunday lunch for us. Waited 55 minutes and no food, their excuse was short on kitchen staff - how many staff needed for a bowl of chowder? Anything above 4 stars have to be fake.

Breana C.

Yelp
Small quaint restaurant on the waterfront. Staff was extremely friendly. Not the place you want to go if you're in a rush which was perfect for us. The food was delicious, so much flavor in the items we ordered. Also, the service was exceptional.

Darren C.

Yelp
Carmen's Cafe Nicole is located right next to Plymouth Rock, a huge attraction for tourists. Open for only breakfast and dinner, this restaurant receives a lot of business. Our table ordered the chicken nachos as an appetizer and this was by far the worst plate of the meal. The chips were extremely soggy and tasted like they were pulled out of an outdated Toritos bad. For my main entree, I ordered the California Chicken WRAP. Someone tell me why I received my wrap, and the outside was a TORTILLA?!? The wrap was hot and full of chicken you would find in a Lunchable. My wrap came with fries that were extremely dry, the main reason why I didn't finish them. Moving on, my brother ordered shrimp tacos that came with beans and rice. The waitress came out and said, "Don't touch this plate because it is literally the hottest thing ever!" The only reason why a plate consisting of rice, beans, and a taco would be hot uniformly was if it was put in an oven, or microwave to be reheated. The food was below average. However, the service saved this restaurant from receiving a one star review. Our waitress brought out huge glasses of iced water (filtered btw which I appreciate dearly on a hot day), and never let them go below halfway. Plymouth is a big place with lots of restaurants, go to a different one!

Bob E.

Yelp
A small, yet busy place (more like a luncheonette) that has a limited, but tasty menu. Portions were adequate to small for the price. Staff was friendly and attentive. Good for a quick bite on the run, but disappointing if looking for a restaurant-esque atmosphere.
