I stayed in this place for 1 night (November 2025). This place offers you an experience of an old Chinese house feels
like. to me, it felt like home. This house is old, but it is well maintained, the decors is very authentic with Chinese household. i love everything about this house. every corner of this house in clean and neat. This house has 3 floors (if i’m not mistaken), the first floor is a lobby and kitchen, the last 2 are bedrooms. in the second floor there are mini library, they have novels for you to read (i tried to buy but it is not for sale). The room has AC that worked very well, and the room is spacious. Shout out to Eva for a very helpful and warm hospitality during my stay. i will definitely stay here again once i am back in Penang.

My friend and I booked this place for 2 nights in Penang, and we fell in love straight away. From the decor and style of the entrance, all the way to the coziness of the private room. Eva was a really nice host, she explained all the amenities including the free coffee counter, with some biscuits and snacks which was welcomed, as well as access to a kitchen. Everything was clean and well maintained, towels provided. Overall, highly recommend, great location and homely vibe!

Fantastic budget option. Actual foyer area of hotel is amazing. Rooms are nice and neat. Pretty basic, but exactly what you would expect (hope for) for the price - beds are super comfy and clean though. Staff are fantastic - we wanted a driver to do a complicated transfer when we left Penang and Eva and Nicole sorted it all out, speaking to our driver and next hotel multiple times to get it all organised. Location is excellent too -everything is less than 10mins away. Definitely recommend!

Location was perfect, we were able to walk everywhere in George town! The room was also very comfortable and clean - it was basic, no frills...but had everything we needed and we had a great stay. Thought we'd be in the main heritage house (as per all the photos), but the room i booked with private toilet was actually in the newly renovated shophouse next door - you still have access to the main house to hang out or take photos if you want, so this wasn't an issue for us, but just putting this here in case some people are more particular.

This place is more than just a hotel, it really feels like an experience. As a city boy from KL, I’ve only ever read about Nyonya culture in textbooks, so staying here gave me a real taste of it. The building is about 180 years old and really well preserved. You get that old-time vibe but at the same time it’s comfy and practical. The decor everywhere is beautiful, and the location is super convenient—just a short 5–15 min walk to most of the attractions. The hosts, Nicole and Kelvin, were amazing. Super friendly and always ready to help, they even gave us tips on places the locals actually go. There are a couple of things to be aware of, the bathrooms are shared, but there are six of them and even with the place fully booked, we never had to wait. Rooms facing the road can get noisy, and you’ll definitely hear the nearby mosque in the morning. But honestly, it felt like part of the local experience, and they even provide earplugs if you need them. All in all, it was a unique and memorable stay. If you’re into culture, history, or just want something different from a standard hotel, I’d definitely recommend this place.

We had a group of almost 20 people visiting Penang and booked this accommodation. This place works perfectly for us. We can gather in the lobby with in-house coffee and snacks. It’s also located in the central of Georgetown with many food and attractions at walking distance. Highly recommended!!

Located within UNESCO demarcated heritage corridor and embodies Peranakan culture/architecture. Eva is a sweet host and helped us with a few pamphlets that acted like a guide. Given Georgetown is renowned worldwide for its street art and is the cultural and culinary capital of Malaysia, Staying in the heartbeat of Georgetown was one of the highlights of our trip!

Vintage styled homestay. I stayed in Campbell room. It's a pretty small room with no windows. The stay is OK overall. The room is clean. Aircond is kinda noisy and I am a light sleeper. Luckily they provide complimentary ear plugs. The shared bathrooms are spacious and clean. Only drawback is the water pressure. The location is superb. It's located at the heart of Penang island. You can access to many tourist spots in walking distance. Parking: easily can get one. Roadside parking only. Miscellaneous: Toothbrush and toothpaste provided Towels provided Shampoo gel provided Water fountain with cups Complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits The room rate is affordable. Recommended.
