Fantastic stay! Had to call a couple times before arriving and even everyone on the phone was great. Customer service top notch. Nice room too. And restaurant and spa were amazing as well. We'll definitely be back!

We had our wedding here and stayed and got ready in the executive suite. The staff, especially the event coordinator, are so friendly and communicative. Our room had everything we needed for me and my bridesmaids to prepare for the big day! And the venue itself is stunning. It is regal, timeless, and the perfect accommodation. Wellington's food is top-tier, whether you're eating at the restaurant or having their food catered. It was delectable. 10/10 experience!

It's got the look, feel, and service of a luxury hotel without the pretentiousness. The front desk staff was professional and helpful. They were sure to point out all the amenities when I checked in. Bartenders were skilled in the art of conversation. This is a huge plus for a solo traveler. They also made great recommendations on both food and beer selctions. I felt very taken care of during my stay.

So, the hotel is nice good staff, didn't stay long. Pool was still open after labor day. Huge saving grace, the restaurant food is very pricey however the fruit was fantastic. No complaints from others about the food. The location there in TN in that area is a DEAD ZONE NO SERVICE, the locals seem to be ok with it. Weird for me it was a first. So cant speak to much but what I can attest to was nice, and pleasant. Free apples in the lobby, spa downstairs, so is the ice machine and microwave. Oh basic tv no smart tvs anywhere.

We love staying at this hotel when we visit Johnson City! The location is perfect directly across the street from ETSU and near the historic downtown restaurant/shopping district. The staff is top notch! The hotel feels liked you're in one of the oldest historic hotels in TN. The antique furnishings are beautiful and so cozy to relax by one of the fireplaces! The bar and Wellingtons restaurant are connected to the hotel. A four diamond experience! We have a king room and it is so cozy and comfortable. The bathrooms are huge. Love the old black and white tiles! They even have a separate tub to soak and relax. They also have a high end spa on the lower level. I recommend calling ahead for reservations for both the restaurant and spa! This is a hot spot for locals and very busy!

Wonderful stay. Suite was amazing! It was 2 bath 1 bed. Bed was extremely comfortable and I loved having a nice bathtub. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. Didn't get to go to spa area downstairs but it looked and smelled amazing!

This is a lovely traditional hotel in a great location in Johnson City, TN. The service, value, staff and atmosphere were exactly what we hoped for during our stay. The bar and restaurant was a bonus. Great staff, too!

We came to Johnson City for a wedding. This was one of the hotels suggested by the couple. I called a few days beforehand to ask for an early check in. They put in my request quickly. I called back the day we were to arrive and was told there were rooms ready. The hotel is beautiful. Lots of wood and cushy chairs and couches. Our king room had a lovely bed that was very comfortable. The bathroom was huge with a double vanity, a separate tub and shower, and a makeup mirror. The coffee maker came with Starbucks coffee. The bar has dozens of whiskeys available. We sat on chairs by the fire. The service was perfect. We went to the restaurant for breakfast. The food and service were both good. The omelette came with fried potatoes. I suspect they were deep fried but really crispy and yummy. This isn't an inexpensive hotel but if you want to treat yourself, this is the place.

We had another delightful stay at this beautiful hotel. Truly enjoyed the hospitality and the convenience of the in-house connection to Wellington's Restaurant and Austin Springs Spa.

Beautiful hotel and what a great staff. I am finishing up a 3 week straight Holistic Wealth Planning TM Tour. The hotel is the cleanest that I have ever seen. No joke! The front desk staff is very professional and helpful. What a classy place. Forget getting points at a chain hotel! Plus this is very reasonably priced. Plus Northeast Tennessee is beautiful this time of year.

I have stayed there several times over the past few years when I visit my hometown. The front desk, rooms and cleaning staff have always been exceptional. Carnegie Hotel is most definitely the nicest hotel in JC. I want to give a huge shout out to Jordan at the front desk and the cleaning crew for helping me a week later when I realized I'd left items there. Wellington's was fantastic and our server was wonderful. I wish I remembered their names. We felt fantastic after visiting the spa and getting facials. Melanie and Elizabeth pampered me and my son. Wonderful weekend at every aspect.

This is an amazing hotel if you're spending any time in Johnson City, TN. Particularly convenient to the ETSU campus. Huge bathroom (double vanity) with separate bath/shower. Very quiet at night.

Great location right across from ETSU. Very well maintained older hotel with beautiful woodwork. Wellingtons restaurant is located inside, with a bar area if you are only looking for drinks. We stayed on the sixth floor with the high ceilings. Sleigh beds in the room and the bathroom had both a tub, shower, and double sinks. There was a fridge in the room, wifi complimentary throughout the hotel, and free parking. We attended a baby shower in the lower lobby, which was very well done. Brunch was set up outside the salon; with a cake table, gift table, alcohol station, drink station, and four large tables inside. There were about 50 people there and it didn't feel overcrowded. Food was good and the staff was helpful and courteous. Overall, a great experience. Would definitely stay again.

Top notch service all the way around! Their customer service was great - every employee couldn't have been any nicer. Staying here was a wonderful experience, hopefully whenever I visit Johnson City next - I'll stay here again!

Had planned on staying here and by the looks of the website what an amazing claw foot tub. The website is very misleading and only certain rooms $347+ have the claw foot bathtubs that are advertised for every room. I also noticed that the site misleads you into paying extra and it's only when you change the room type that you get the best deal. Money has never been an issue but false advertisement is a deal breaker.

This place was so beautiful. The beds are comfortable. The rooms have plenty of pillows and the pillows are different sizes and thickness so you have a choice. The bathroom had a double sink in it plus a bathtub that is separated from the shower. The staff was friendly and omg, the food at the Wellington restaurant was amazing. You must try the Springer Mountain chicken. I cannot even begin to describe how good the food was. Everything from breakfast to dessert was good and fresh. My only complaint with the stay was our room was near a parking garage where people like to hang out to take pictures and take their hot rod cars on joyrides. It was a little loud until about 8 pm or so but it was tolerable. I will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is top notch we came to go to a race in Bristol so we took a chance with this hotel and it didn't disappoint. The staff is friendly, room is clean hotel is definitely a 5 star. They have a spa in addition to a restaurant. Breakfast there was ok but I could of did without but dinner was delicious. We would stay here again.

The hotel is gorgeous. Their customer service is deplorable. Particularly with management. I stayed at this hotel last weekend to attend a wedding. I, alongside one of the other groomsmen, decided to share a room. I had never met him before; however, he was a friend of the grooms, so I trusted the situation. The first night he was asked to leave the hotel by the staff and the police because he was incredibly intoxicated and would not stay in his room. The gentleman at the front desk handled it very well. I was trying to figure out where to stay that night because the gentleman had all of his belongings in the room and I was worried that he might come back. I was assured that it would be okay for me to stay in the room; however, in order to do so, they needed my credit card to be associated with the room. I was told that a $20 incidental held would be put on the card. We were all under the impression that the two nights would be charged to the guest that was asked to leave. After everyone went to bed, I went to the front desk and asked if someone could escort me to my room as a safety concern. I was handed four separate keys that night as we tried to figure out the arrangements and I was not sure if his key was appropriately deactivated. I was surprised to see a young woman at the desk instead. By herself. When I asked if someone in security could escort me up, she said that she was the only one working. When an hour before I was assured that I would be safe in my room.... The biggest surprise happened when I went to check out and expecting a bill for two waters that I bought for the grooms. I was charged for the entire stay. I was speaking with someone new and trying to explain the situation; however, she continuously cut me off as "she was aware of the entire situation". At one point I told her that this was not a cross examination as she was constantly arguing and cutting me off. I got her information and the information of her boss. I've been trying to get this resolved since last Monday. I've called several times, left my information with the front desk for a "Joel" to give me a call back. I also left Joel a voicemail. No correspondence back. I called again today and finally got to speak to him. It was a waste of energy. I was told that he trusted his two FOH managers and what they said and that I had agreed to pay for the one night (then why was I charged for both nights...???). I asked him when I authorized that as I did not go to the front desk or sign anything. He said that it was when I entered my chip. I never went to the front desk. The employee manually keyed in my number while I tried to enjoy the rest of my hectic night. No authorization was given. I didn't go to the front desk with him because he said it was for a $20 incidental fee and I did not care because the dollar amount was so low. Joel was not cooperative in helping at all. I asked him to pull the camera footage showing that I never inserted a card, rather that it was manually entered by the employee. My Wells Fargo transaction specifically says that it was manually entered. But Joel insisted that I had to pay for the second night (when I was planning on staying with friends...). I have disputed the charge with my credit card company; however, I wanted to share my experience here in case customer service is an important factor when finding a hotel room of a large venue for a wedding. Once the hotel was paid, communications stopped when trying to resolve this issue. They did not care where they got the money from (which infuriates me as the arrangement was to charge the room to the other person's card). He was kicked out 24 hours before what his next check in would have been. Had I not been in the room, he would have been charged for the total amount anyways. So I'm in disbelief that the hotel is not offering an ounce of empathy nor logic in this transaction. I did not authorize the transaction. They have his credit card information on file. No apologies were offered for the lack of security detail that night, rather a young woman running the front desk. No follow up calls back after repeated attempts to talk to someone. I was met with a response that said "you should have emailed me". In my world a phone call gets a higher sense of urgency than an email. The hotel had no intention of rectifying this situation the second they made the mistake of accidentally charging my card. So I'm fixing it myself. Stay away. The hotel may look nice, but it's not professionally run. You can see from the picture that I never used my chip. It was manually entered. I did not authorize this charge and they don't care since they got their money.

What an amazing stay! This hotel is very nice and has amazing decor and amenities. The room was nice and spacious. Bathroom offered double sinks as well as both a separate shower and bath option. The food at Wellingtons was top notch. The service by the front desk staff and housekeeping was amazing too! I would definitely highly recommend and hope to return soon

Everything was exceptional!! There was plenty of parking, I had an easy check in and check out, and loved my room! I had a room with a king sized bed and it came with a sofa and refrigerator. The bathroom was very large and spacious, just how I like. The spa...omg the spa was absolutely wonderful! I decided to treat myself and had a 60 min relaxation massage, a facial, and a ginger bath detox. There are very many options for the spa which I loved and prices weren't too bad. I didn't have a chance to go to the restaurant, Wellington's, located in the hotel but I will definitely try it if I am ever back in the area. I only stayed one night but it was so worth it. I was in town to visit ETSU which happened to be right across the street which was another bonus! Definitely recommend this hotel 10/10 and it's not hard to find discounts on the price either.

We were road tripping from NOVA to Lake of the Ozarks, MO and beyond in KS and MO. This was the 5th of 5 hotels we stayed at and by far the most luxurious and beautiful. Actually, it's probably one of the top 10 for me in all my hotel stays over the years. The cost was reasonable for a last minute check-in; I guess we were lucky to get a room because there is a race at Bristol the upcoming weekend. Easy parking, grabbed a dolly for the luggage and free parking in the parking structure behind. The hotel is not as old as it seems- it is very classy with a beautiful restaurant property on site. Most impressive in the room is the gorgeous large bathroom with double sinks, a free standing shower and separate tub (just like home!!). Too bad we were only there for one night! We ate dinner and breakfast at Wellingtons (more later) and it was excellent outside on the deck. The hotel runs very cold so thankful for outside dining. Overall, the recommendation to stay in Johnson City was definitely better than our original plan for Memphis.

I came in town to visit my mother in the hospital and was pleased to learn that a discount was offered. I was not expecting this, but it was much appreciated. From the moment we walked in the front door, we were so impressed. Nicely appointed with antiques, art work and architectural details. The staff was extremely pleasant and eager to assist. It was late upon our arrival and I asked if there was a bar and let me tell you friends and neighbors, this was no ordinary bar. So beautiful and cozy including a fireplace and comfortable seating. They have the largest whiskey selection I have ever seen! The bartender asked what I normally drink and recommended a bourbon I have never heard of which was excellent. After a bourbon for me and a nice Cabernet for my wife, we headed up to the room. The first class experience did not end there. The sleigh bed was so comfortable and the room was very big. The bathroom was also quite large with a separate tub and shower. Only upon checkout did I learn of the Spa on the lower level complete with a wine cave! We will definitely have to check this out next time.

Hotel The Carnegie is an old hotel with some really nice and large rooms located in Johnson City. Upon entering the lobby, you notice the grand piano and high ceilings harking back to older days where places just seemed more luxurious. The super helpful people at the desk get you all squared away and on your way to your room in short order. The elevators are fairly quick and are oversized -so no boxed in claustrophobia or uncomfortable closeness to smelly people required. The rooms are large - very large - and well appointed. Bathrooms are large and contain showers / tubs and plenty of lighting (a pet peeve of mine when traveling) so you can beautify when traveling. Hot water was HOT, which is great for when you need to get squeaky clean or just wake up. The hotel is decently sized and offers a nice bar area as well as a decent restaurant. I had the opportunity to eat breakfast at the restaurant and it is done in the same fashion as the lobby - high ceilings and lots of wood. Service was on the spot with coffee refills and just enough attention to make sure you got through your meal with no issues. Menu for breakfast was varied enough that most anyone could find something to eat. The bar / lounge area was nicely appointed as well and the bartender the night I was there was very good. Made decent cocktails and came around enough to our table that we didn't have to go searching for him. The bar area was pretty lively and good conversations were struck up. Parking can be a bit tight particularly around the main entrance, but widens out down around the restaurant side of the building, so you may want to just park down there and walk a little further instead of trying to shoehorn your car into a spot closer to the from door. Prices were average for the area I thought but since I am not a frequent traveler to the area, I could be wrong. Overall a decent place to lay your head, grab a drink or a bite to eat while traveling.

We stopped here for an overnight stay on our way to Nashville from Maryland. This stop did not disappoint! It turned out to be a mini destination for our family. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The bar has a HUGE whiskey menu. The restaurant makes delicious food. The rooms were spotless and large enough for our family of 4. There are cozy sitting areas all over the hotel to sit and relax with a glass of wine. The spa was very relaxing for our quick pedicure. The best part of our stay is that our beloved dog could stay with us too. This hotel is AMAZING! We highly recommend this for a weekend getaway.

I booked a $ 500.00 room online which included a couples massage. When booking you request a time. Assuming it would be within your stay, right? Nope. Upon learning they cannot offer the spa services for my dates of stay I was told I'd be offered a "voucher" to return for a spa service at a later date. I guess to be able to charge me again for another room. If you can't honor what you sell you shouldn't sell it! What am I supposed to do with a voucher when I live 4 hours away? Finally got the spa to transfer me to the front desk and seems they are separate companies operating independently just running this little scam together. I was told I'd be refunded my charges. So, what now for a birthday present for the wife?

Awesome place for a great price. Stayed here briefly in January only wishing I had stayed longer. Was disappointed that the restaurant was closed at the time but will definitely be back in the future God willing to check out the restaurant & spa! Awesome decorations and large rooms

It's a big deal for me if hotels are pet friendly. Although the price is a bit absorbent ($50 per night), you won't regret it. My puppy was petted & pampered by the staff. Everyone was so friendly & accommodating. Room service was phenomenal, as well. Wellington's is absolutely top notch. Our room was comfortable and luxurious, the killer combo in my book. We did experience a plumbing problem, but staff was on it almost immediately. The maintenance man even returned to our room to assure everything was functioning properly. We'll be saving our money for a return trip asap.

What a beautiful hotel. The lobby is stunning. The staff is very cordial anf welcoming. The bed was vee y comfortable and the room was very clean. I wish the kitchen was open longer for room service. We got there very late. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay and would like to come back soon.

I have stayed in many hotels across the country and the Carnegie BY FAR makes them all look mediocre. I absolutely love staying here. LOVE the decor, LOVE the price, LOVE the bar, LOVE the spa, LOVE the ambience ...shall I go on? Words cannot describe how beautiful and upscale this place is. It is like staying at a 5-Star diamond resort, but at a very reasonable price.

I LOVE this place. It's so good that I'm in the process of buying a mattress just like the ones on their beds. Yep, it beats a beautyrest black. I like the vintage feel king sleigh bed nice. Very quiet spacious room. Sparkling clean. The bathrooms have double sinks and seperate tubs and showers. BR also super clean, spotless actually. Stayed here during COVID and felt completely comfortable. The staff are super helpful and kind. Will definitely stay again soon. Lots of yummy food at the restaurant and packed up perfectly so that I could dine in my room. The pool and spa look inviting but I didn't try them due to COVID. I'll give them a try next time. What was a work trip zi didn't want turned into a blessing.

VERY dissatisfied with this hotel. They advertise a great restaurant, it's closed on Christmas. They advertise a sauna. You guessed it right, it's closed on Christmas. They advertise the claw foot tub, not in your room. Small TV with the weird quality. What was good? Nothing. Rooms smells, uncomfortable bed, cheap sheets, worn towels. Not worth the price. Stay somewhere else. Very very disappointed.

Upscale. Clean. Comfortable! Loved the look, feel and cleanliness of the hotel. The staff was amazing & accommodating. We will be making trips back just to stay here (the fluffy mattress is a major plus!)

Wonderful hotel, clean with and old world charm. I was expecting Mr. Carnegie himself to walk in and have a cigar with me! Certainly high class interior with 1st class service. Restaurant is nicely decorated to 1900 standards, comfortable staff very attractive and food was tasty but not the expensive, all in all a nice hotel with charm grace.

I've had the pleasure of staying in the Carnegie a few times and it was just stunning. Our first visit was our first time being in East TN, We upgraded to one of the presidential suites while I was in town for a competition-- it wasn't ridiculously expensive to upgrade to an absolutely breathtaking presidential suite. There was a spacious living room with a guest bathroom and two bedrooms with a large master bathroom. The antique design in the lobby and the rooms is just magnificent! It's also not too bad that there's an incredible steakhouse in the lobby and a relaxing spa on the lower level?? T he service was top notch and my family and I couldn't get over the intricate designs inside of the hotel. It was so luxurious and relaxing while we were in town for a more stressful event that we couldn't be more excited to stay here. We loved coming back last year and will definitely be back again!!

A friend and I decided to visit Johnson city for the eclipse, and he chose Carnegie thinking it would be a good choice. He also upgraded to the presidential suite. Check in was at 3pm we arrived from our 7 hour road trip at 2:50pm, were told that are room wouldn't be ready for 15 minutes. Long story short our wait lasted almost an hour, we were clearly tired and had valuables in the car we were ready to unload. The only thing the hotel staff offered was ONE free drink from the bar, though there were two of us! That was odd. The room looked like it was supposed to but I do believe they rushed through cleaning it since we were waiting and irritated. The room service was mediocre, overall this was an average hotel experience. I doubt I'll find myself in Johnson city any time soon but I probably would try another hotel if I did return.

From Check in to check out we loved our experience here. Large, fancy lobby, efficient check in, convenient elevator, luggage carts, free newspapers all provided positive beginning. The room was large, well-equipped with tv, sofa, King sleigh bed, desk, lovely bedding. Then there is the enormous bathroom with separate tub and shower, plentiful supply of plush towels. Double sink with built in shelves and ample counter space. Ultra clean through out. Dinner the first night was convenient when we were too tired to venture out. Two breakfasts were delicious with great wait staff and good menu variety. The price was more than reasonable. My one regret is not taking advantage of the spa. Two minor negatives were tight parking and we never found the advertised pool. Highly recommend!!

The best and cleanest hotel ive ever stayed in and ive been around the U.S.A and the world . The bathroom floor was spotless , the shower had zero mold or mildew . The bed was clean and comfy . The room smelled amazing. Must i go on? Id recommend this place to everyone i know , even family . Id live here if i could hahaha it is something truly special .

There is still a lot to love about this place, but sadly we have stayed for the last time. Friday and Saturday night in late May. We stay there about 3 times a year. We have always had an issue with the mattress. It slopes,...badly. This last time it was so bad that we had to decide whether to flip around and sleep with our heads at the foot of the bed. SO bad.. that you cant watch TV because of the slope. And the icing - horrible lumpy pillows. Seriously - between the 10-15 beds that we have had here.. ALL of them did this. I suggest its the sleigh bed frame (which they are probably very proud of..) but some give. Terrible nights sleep. I love this place, please replace the beds/frames. You have an evergreen property next to the University. Don't completely blow it.

The hotel itself is very nice and clean, but one of the elderly women that work there is completely rude. She acts like she owns the parking garage behind the hotel and she was very rude when telling me I couldn't park there even though ETSU owns the 3-6th floors. I wouldnt recommend this place solely because the workers are terribly rude!!!!

Wonderful experience for a long weekend! The hotel is a "gem", large elegant bedrooms (mine had to be 800 SF), over-sized bathrooms, really nice staff, sparkling clean, serious spa, and Wellington's Restaurant was excellent! Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and shall return!

For some reason, Yelp removed my post below saying it didn't look like I had stayed here. I most certainly did. 29 October to 3 November 2019. Here is my review again nelow. Stayed for five days in late October / early November. The hotel is very nice inside the lobby area and the staff are very nice. The room itself, while larger than a normal hotel room, had a small shower and the toilet had problems during our stay. They handled the call quickly, but didn't seem to really fix it. The bathroom ceiling had paint coming off in places and there was plash paint on the tile in several places. No big deal in most places, but the Carnegie charges you a premium for being extra nice, and it just wasn't extra nice. The attached restaurant is also pricey with a limited menu. Finally, the room was a bit too noisy - not only the train noise (I understand that) but also the guests in the next rooms. Overall I just can't give it better than an average rating because it is very expensive compared to the other surrounding options, and just doesn't deliver that extra quality overall. I will choose another place to stay the next time I visit Johnson City. It was good to stay here once

Tried the Carnegie instead of my favorite hotel chain (the Hampton). Rooms were large, as was the bathroom. Comfortable beds with a selection of pillows. Whole place smelled like eucalyptus from the massage on the lower level. Nostalgic environment for sure. One detail I did not appreciate was the additional $50/night charge/hold they automatically placed on my card for the possibility that I may charge incidentals like a massage or a meal to my room. I questioned the practice and they simply said something to the effect that "it's how they do things." The hold/charges were removed upon departure since I did not use any of their hotel services just as I told them I wouldn't be using those services upon check-in.

Everything about this hotel was great! The room was spectacular, the best nights' sleep I've had in a long time. The bathroom was spacious and clean. All of the decorations are fancy-smancy. It was gorgeous! The staff were all super nice. The restaurant was a bit steep and the staff at the restaurant were mediocre. Food delicious, though! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone!!!

Excellent customer service. The staff is truly fantastic and went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible. They even offered to print some work documents so I didn't have to go downstairs to the business center--again, just to make it as convenient as possible for me. I was also impressed with their in-room breakfast as it wasn't nearly as overpriced as other hotels and was quite good.

Awesome hotel. Great location. Rooms are big and beautiful. Super clean with big bright windows. Friendly staff. Quick check in. Attached restaurant serves yummy breakfast. My only complaint is that the "cool" option on the thermostat doesn't stay very cool so it was a little too warm in the room for sleeping. However, I'd stay at this place over and over. I recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights.. The positives: It is a nice, well kept hotel with comfy beds and clean rooms. The rooms and bathrooms are large and Wellingtons breakfast is very good at a reasonable price. It is pet friendly (although an additional $50 a night is a bit much). There were plenty of tv channels and the free wifi worked fine. The shower had good water pressure (Be careful though because the water gets HOT). The hotel has a nice lobby and lounge area that you can use. It appeared some college students used the lounge area to study on the week nights since it's right across from ETSU campus. The negatives: unfortunately it is nearly impossible to get a good rest due to noises. We had a room that was connected to another room which I would advise against. The doors between these rooms are so thin I could hear literally everything that was happening in the room next door. I felt like I had to whisper the entire time if I didn't want my neighbor hearing my conversation. Our neighbor's alarm clock rang for 40 minutes at 4:30am and when I called the front desk to see if they could check on it, the front desk attendant laughed at me. (We ended up having to confront our neighbor ourself) Another issue was the housekeeping service...one day our room was skipped completely even after we specifically asked housekeeping for fresh towels. The other days housekeeping didn't arrive until around 3 pm which was very inconvenient. If you stay here, I would recommend requesting a non-adjoining room near the end of the hallway so you are not bothered by noises. Also I wouldn't recommend booking through their website...the prices seem to be twice as much on there as through a 3rd party site or calling directly.

Oh Carnegie Hotel...I feel conflicted. This is the first review for you, which I'm happy about. However, the review is not going to be the best, which sadness my heart. I found out I was coming out to TN for work and was way pumped on it. I used to live 15 mins away from you Carnegie about 15 years ago. I looked on line at all of your glory and classic look. The pictures made you look amazing. I arrived at the airport and was met by a brand spanking new Suburban (black on black leather with oak trim). My hopes were high at this point considering that the transportation was luxury. I walked on in and my initial expectations were met. The marble floors, oak crown molding, bronze statues, stained glass domes in lobby, etc. You just looked like classic America. Once I arrived to my room, I started losing all that joy I felt. The carpet was a green and very dated. There was a green couch by the window that seemed to have a permanent indent in the cushions right smack in the middle. The bathroom looked like a classic bathroom with your tiled floors and marble counters. I took a shower and that's when it really went down hill. There was no pressure for about 5 mins. Then it finally kicked in but kept dying on me. The handles on the sink were very loose and felt like they needed to be replaced. I went to dinner one night in one of the halls rented out. I had requested the fillet mignon. I got my fillet that had some kind of sauce all over it. The sauce had some sort of sweetness which killed any taste of good steak. I'm a huge steak fan and love it medium rare (very bloody) with no sauces. I just like a little salt and pepper. Whenever there is a sauce on a good piece of meet, I always wonder what are they trying to cover up. It was probably the worst steak I've ever. It was as if they were trying to serve this to Buddy the Elf and doused it with syrup. After dinner and cocktails, I came back to my room. I knew i had a bunch of meetings the next day and didn't want to feel like crap. Too bad the guys from Canada didn't think that way. They were walking death. When I got to the room I watched Iron Man on the TV. This too was disappointing. Every time the bass picked up, the picture became fuzzy. It was pretty sweet. Carnegie, you can definitely get the full 5 stars if you just tweak a few things here and there. Upgrade some of the furniture throughout the place (rooms, lobby, etc) and fix the plumbing for crying out loud. I wasn't the only one who complained about this. That's why I didn't request another room. The pressure was bad throughout. I will however say that the guy who picked me up from the airport was awesome. The first night was a Sunday and the restaurant was closed. I just wanted a beer after having to travel 10 hrs to get here. He volunteered (Volunteer State...makes sense) to drive me up the street so I could pick up a few items. I think he was even on lunch. I really wanted to give you a wonderful review Carnegie and is breaks my heart to not. Please pick yourself up and let's have a re-do some time.

Fabulous to work with for special events! Out of town guests were impressed and so were the locals! Food good, ballroom gorgeous, Crystal the events planner made it painless! Banquet staff friendly and efficient while anticipating needs. Highly recommend! Excellent staff!!
