Get a taste of Africa at these amazing restaurants in Johannesburg - SilverKris

"This meat eaters’ paradise is about a 40-minute drive from the Johannesburg city centre. You’ll be guided through the Hall of Kings to enter the great eating hall that surrounds a huge open fire, surrounded by statues of Masai spears. It’s all-you-can-eat here, with exotic game meats including crocodile, warthog and ostrich on the menu. Each table is given a flag, and when you tip the flag over, staff will stop bringing meat to your table. End your meal with a Dawa – a Kenyan cocktail that’s vodka with lime, mixed with a honey stick." - SilverKris

One of the best restaurants to feed your meat craving, especially if you want to explore different meat from the traditional ones. Best one in my opinion was the warthog and surprisingly the crocodile... Something I never thought I'd say. The atmosphere is amazing and the service is just as great, definitely worth putting on your list of places to explore in Gauteng.

An amazing experience that is difficult to replicate anywhere else. For the price, you receive a large amount of unique meat and starters. Definitely a must if you love meat.

What a wonderful experience! Service started of a bit slow but once it started flowing, it was great. Food was fresh, tasty with unique flavours and plenty to go around. We were dining with young kids and they were well catered for in terms of food options. Only criticism would be drinks, found these to be aggressively overpriced, coke can is R35, that's more than a 2L coke at the shops 😱, besides that can't fault a thing. Jan, Jamaica and Mpumelelo from the kitchen, were fantastic not forgetting Reggie at Bookings office! Thank you so much!

As a first timer at carnivore i was pretty underwhelmed. My mom spoke highly of this place. Unfortunately i was not impressed. I was looking forward to having ribs only to be informed that they serve ribs on a sunday only. Which is weird! The biryani smelled and tasted off. The croc meat was rubbery and tough. They have a limited variety of dessert which consists of ice cream and fruit salad, malva pudding with custard or ice cream. The place is pretty lovely with alot of historical features which was the highlight of my experience. 5/10

I was here a year ago with friends and I really liked it, great food, endless torrent of tasty meat, it was the adventure of my life, since then when I think about South Africa it stands in front of my eyes and a wonderful grill where slowly finned: antelopes, zebras, blesbok and warthogs. A nice service will make sure it's an unforgettable dinner... I recommend

Took our parents here for mom’s birthday celebration and they really enjoyed themselves (the all you can eat buffet with lunch or dinner time options). We loved the venue and decor, lots of beautiful places to take pictures. The African artefacts and theme also add to the beauty of the place. The food was nice - the pork sausage and samoosas were the best for us. Overall the food is good, chicken was a bit on the dry side. It is good to eat at your own pace and not feel pressured to have everything at once. Would recommend to anyone to give it a try. Best enjoyed with others!

Amazing service, incredible meat selections that are carved in front of you! Environment is very cool building, both inside and out! Most certainly an experience not to be missed. I will not name the various game meat I had but if you look at the menu picture, the answer would be yes 😄
