Carnmore Hotel Takapuna

Such a sweet spot! Warm welcome, friendly helpful staff! Rooms, are nicely done - spacious, modern and comfortable - really enjoyed the Spa bath in the room I had & the shower was massive! Has a spa, a gym, a pool for the warmer months and is only a 5 min walk to the beautiful beach and lots of cafes & restaurants near by - highly recommend!

We had a pleasant stay overall at the Carnmore Hotel. The room was clean and tidy, and the staff were great — especially accommodating with our late check-in, which we really appreciated. Facilities were also up to standard. The reason for not giving a full 5-star rating is the noise in the mornings. On all three days, the housekeeping staff were extremely loud while chatting and joking with each other, which made it hard to sleep and waking us up. Unfortunately, the storage cupboard was directly opposite our room, which didn’t help — but regardless, noise like that at 8am on a weekend isn’t ideal for paying guests. Would I recommend it? Yes. Would I stay again? Probably not.

Great clean hotel within easy walking distant of Takapuna shops and restaurants. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Very comfortable room and adequately equipped. Friendly, helpful staff. Great water pressure in showers! Easy parking. Rooms away from the main road are quieter. ||I would definitely stay again and would recommend your hotel in the future.

Stayed a Saturday & Sunday night recently. Nice to see the place had been significantly refurbished since a stay there about 10 years ago. It was nice to get some brownies on check-in,& the in-room extras were appreciated. The location was good, & i enjoyed walking to the beach down the road, & into the takapuna markets on Sunday. The room smelt. It was coming from the kitchen drain. Like a damp smell. The bathroom windowsill was covered in hand towels, with dead ants on them. The extra blanket was dirty. The room connected to another room - i awoke at 2 am to hear every word the person in the room next door was shouting to whoever he was on a call with. I heard him snoring the next morning too. So definitely not sound proof. My access card stopped working on the first night. And we had an ant infestation! They got into my dubai chocolate that I'd splurged on & left sitting wrapped but not sealed on the kitchen bench, along with some other dinner scraps. So that's why I'm not giving a higher review for my stay at this hotel.

We stayed at Carnmore Hotel Takapuna for 12 days while settling in Auckland and had a truly great experience. The room was simple but had everything we needed and was incredibly clean—not even a breadcrumb in the toaster! Housekeeping was thoughtful, always checking if we preferred rest or cleaning, and they even did our dishes when we said it wasn’t necessary. I felt like a princess just sitting and enjoying my coffee. The reception staff were super helpful with everything from buses to local safety and sightseeing. Thanks to them, we found a lovely apartment with a harbour view. We also really appreciated the handmade brownies for the hotel’s 5th anniversary—they were delicious and made us feel warmly welcomed. Wi-Fi was a bit unstable and some of the jacuzzi jets didn’t work, but overall it was a fantastic stay. Highly recommended!
