Very relaxing on an October day. Nobody in the parking lots or beach, but you still have to pay$6/hr to park until the end of October. I'm sure the restaurants and other businesses would appreciate discounted parking after Labor Day to help drive sales!

Cute area to walk or enjoy the beach, more than just an entrance. Believe I saw some food options and plenty of residential apartment/condos. Cute swinging benches and multiple beach access points. We went in Sept.

We had a great time on the boardwalk on a Thursday night, timed to enjoy the fireworks in the summer. There was a nice live music band playing for a while until they were rained off, but a DJ took over and kept the energy up even as it rained. It was uncertain whether the fireworks would go ahead given the weather, but it turned at the perfect moment to allow them to go ahead. We got lucky with our positioning at the very end of the boardwalk to watch the fireworks at the point where it meets the beach, and it afforded us a great view away from the lights of the ferris wheel etc, so we'd definitely recommend that.

My kid had an amazing time riding the amusement rides! It was all lit up and such a beautiful evening by the ocean. They also had bingo going on and it was such a great atmosphere. Definitely a place to make some great family/ friends memories!

This place is a family tradition of ours. There are great walkable hotels/condos to choose from as well. There are nice swinging benches that are ocean front where you can sit have a drink and people watch. There is late night bar with live music to dance til 2am. In the morning on the boardwalk there is an insane donut shop that is by far the best tasting and has a history to boot! There is so much more🦋🦋

Went to the boardwalk for the Strawberry Moon in June. Beautiful views of the beach. There were tons of people out that night. I'm local, so the only disadvantage for me is the lack of parking. The music is good, just super loud. Be prepared to hunt for parking.

The Wilmington area beaches are a nice option if you want to avoid heavy touristy areas like Myrtle Beach or further south such as Hilton Head. Carolina beach boardwalk was never "crowded" the 4 times we visited (late mornings and early to late evenings). As mentioned on another post, the views from the boardwalk are somewhat obstructed due to sand dunes but overall it's a good experience to do at least once if you're traveling here. Plenty of snack and a couple of food options in the area. Some places operate on island time so if they aren't open at 10 or 11 like advertised, try again in a half hour or so.

Small but quaint boardwalk. Few shops and eateries. Beach access just few steps away and they have some really nice swing benches to sit on and relax enjoying the day. I didn’t see any public restrooms, and all restaurants and bars had signs saying no public restrooms so be prepared to patronize them if you want to use the bathroom. Maybe there are restrooms on another end, but I just didn’t see them.
