Carom Cafe Billiards

This is a big place to start off. There are about 20 plus tables already all jumbo sized with fine tip felt and the smoothest of balls to glide through the surface. The sticks are also of fine craftsmanship and the chalk used to smooth out the top actually helps to the finest degree. I believe it’s $8 per person per hour probably more probably less but considering it comes with the least of fines and taxes. There are also a few tables to play ping pong on and there is an area for massage chairs. There is a bar area with a wide variety of drinks to order from all with varying prices obviously but it all comes down to how you play the game. There is the regular version of 8 ball pool where you can play all sorts of games such as 9-ball, cutthroat, snooker, 1 pocket, bank ball etc. Then there is the other version which is much weirded considering it doesn’t have any holes on all 4 sides of the tables like the other half of the place and it’s just 3 balls to play with: The cue, a red with no number and a yellow with no number both with alternating dots all over. There is also a mini restaurant to order meals and food during games and to hang out. Honestly this place has a lot to offer and I know it’s the kind of hangout place anyone would enjoy going to.

It has been years since my friends and I had played billiards. We decided to head over to Carom Café Billiards for a couple of late night rounds. While slightly pricier than the other billiards nearby, it is worth the price. Not only can you play billiards, but you can also play snooker, table tennis, and 4-Ball! The building is quite large, so there are tons of tables for you and your group to play at. Of course, you buy food and drinks there as they open for nearly 24 hours every day.

One of the greatest pool halls in Queens/ NYC. This place has been around for so long and has still yet to stand the test of time. Many legends have played here and this place doesn’t disappoint. The tables are always well maintained. The staff is friendly and attentive. Great drink specials. Overall a great place to hang out. There are tables to play cards, massage chairs and a small arcade. There is also a small parking lot for your convenience 👌

I completely understand that this place is called Billiards and pool is their main focus but there no reason. The Table Tennis are should be so filthy on a consistent basis!! The floors are never swept, the tables are never wiped off, there’s garbage bins full and over flowing and worst of all they have no heat within the room ever!! While ever other part of the establishment is well ventilated and heated. When you ask the guy working the register his response is “I can’t do anything about it, I just work here”. He was so unwilling and help and showed zero professionalism or customer service in simply just creating a comfortable environment for us to be in.

Best place to find a snooker table. The place is huge with so many pool tables, 4 snooker boards, billiard tables and you also have table tennis. The place serves food and drinks too. Very good atmosphere to spend time over the weekend while having fun.

My favorite spot near where I live to go play pool and have some food and drinks. Staff is always friendly and I always have a great time when I go with friends. I'm not great at pool but I always have fun being with my friends and just talking and catching up while we play some pool.

Has a more serious vibe here, which isn’t for me, but may suit those who want that environment. Good pool tables and balls. Parking is tight in the garage and surrounding parking kinda sucks.

Anytime me and my friends are looking for something to do and want to use up a but of time doing something fun we always head over here. They have so many pool tables you usually never have a problem finding an open table. just hope there isn't a tournament going on or finding a table will become a bit harder. Still they have great deals on certain days for cheaper table rentals and their alcohol selection isn't bad while also not pricey. Great place.

Good tables for 8 ball pool. Hot food and cold beverages available as well. Also has a couple of TV's showing sports Has many tables, brightly lit area and overall good vibes

We happened to walk past here on the way to our hotel around 11pm. They have very friendly employees and a good environment. I had fun and liked the noodles. The prices were fair.

Super chill, no-frills billiard bar. It's nothing special but also really cheap for billiards, food and drinks. I came on a weekday night and it wasn't too packed but there is a good selection of tables. Our waitress was really friendly and quick. We ordered a bucket of beers and some burgers with fries which were actually pretty good. There's not a huge selection of food - mostly bar food - and a full bar. Def a good choice for a calm night.

I played billiards here today in the afternoon. The place was nice and spacious, and the atmosphere was very soothing and relaxing. They charge for an hour and after an hour by minutes, so you do not need to stay for another full hour if you do not want to. Playing for a little more than an hour only came to about $10 dollars. I had a good time and the facility was in good condition.

A friend brought me here to shoot some pool on a Saturday night. Rates are exceptional; $7.12/person/hr for 2 and $5.90/person/hr for 3. Their service is fair for the amount of people that work there vs. the amount of tables they have to service. They have a separate bar with many drink options, but the cocktails are expensive ($15). We didn't try the food but it's cool that they have noodles and the kitchen is open until 11:30PM. When we came back the second time that night, the person at the register was negligent when closing the tab (seemed like the owner) and gave me back the wrong change. He apologized when I corrected him, but the earlier staff were more attentive. Clocks are accurate and match when you get the table. I agree with other reviews, there can be some shady people here, but for the hours I spent there it looked like everyone was minding their own business. The place was packed at 10PM: the pool tables, the card tables, etc. Our table didn't come with a rack but one of the employees quickly gave us an one when we asked.

I go to Carom regularly at the weekend and the place is very well run and maintained. No loud music or smoke indoors like many other billiards. Good prices $20 per table

The only problem is that there are zero girls whatsoever. JD Salinger said it best: "I like to be somewhere at least where you can see a few girls around once in a while, even if they're only scratching their arms or blowing their noses or even just giggling or something." Anyway, the rates here are even cheaper than they are at fat cat. This place still isn't as good in my opinion because it doesn't have wifi, nor the charming atmosphere. However, it is way bigger, and according to my friends, the tables are a little different (this doesn't mean better, just different). I don't know exactly if they serve food here, but it looks like you can get beer here? idk, i didn't order anything. I've never been here at night, so I can't comment how it is then- however during the afternoons, this place is not too busy. As I alluded to, mostly guys come here. Most of the time it's middle aged guys, but some young ones come as well. I believe they have ping pong in the back, though I've never gone to go properly look. This place is probably a 15 minute walk from the 7 train, and while you can take a bus to get closer, none of the buses exactly go near it, so you're gonna have to walk some length of the distance. Still, if you want to save money, and have business in flushing as it is, this can be a great place to go practice and have a chill hang out with friends.

This place is not safe for women.. Came here with two of my girlfriends and we were basically followed around the place. 99% of the place is filled with older men who stare you down with no shame. Some men next to us at the bar got up and propped themselves up next to the wall near the pool table and we were playing at and just watched and sipped their drinks. One of them even followed me to the bar a second time and watched me from a distance at the other end of the bar. We were just so uncomfortable we weren't even there for a full hour before we had to leave. The whole place is just sketchy, older men hanging out outside of the bar till after midnight and the area it's located in isn't too great either.

A decent pool hall. During the pandemic no alcohol is served and every other pool table is not is use. However, that is not true for the 3 cushion billiards and snooker tables which are all open for use. Masks are required but saw several players without a mask so obviously this rule is not enforced. The neighborhood is so-so. Wouldn't want to walk around this area late at night. Place seems a bit run down and outdated with several tables which had stain marks on the cloth. A renovation would definitely make the atmosphere nicer and more upscale. But many pool halls are closed these days during the pandemic so if you're just looking to play pool, this place will do.

Came here with my uncle to play pool first time ever in my life. The smell of smoke was present when I entered even though it says no smoking everywhere. The tables looked really clean and there were a lot of players everywhere. I didnt even know there was music playing until the end , it wasn't loud. The music was Keke do you love me by Drake so that was dope.. 90 percent of the players were men in their 50s. 7 percent were like college kids and 3 percent female. Reminds me of when I go to the golf driving range. Playing was a lot harder than I thought. My shoulders , back and neck was kinda achy just after playing just one hour. It took me 45 minutes just to learn to hit the ball without moving the stick upwards or hitting it too weak. Time went by so fast. I was nervous because I dragged pushed the stick forward on the table like twice and if it ripped that would not be good. But it was a fun experience, 12 bucks is good price I feel but I prefer bowling. My advice for people like me that are coming here for first time or new players is to practice the hand and arm positioning and knee bending a lot before coming here and watch videos online youtube. That way you will have more time to play and not spend most of it learning like me. Overall it was a good experience and apparently according to the guy at the front, this place hosts the World Championship of Pool so that was cool to hear.

We love this place. My boyfriend and I met here about 5 years ago and we go here every few months with the groupon. They're always friendly and after we finish playing we sit and relax. Yes, its run down yes, its old but its a chill place to talk, drink decent beer and play some pool or carom. Definitely recommend.

This is a great place to play ping pong. Lots of available ping pong tables: 6 STIGA expert tables. Lots of spaces to move when playing ping pong. Cheap rates if you bring your own paddles. After spending a cumulative total of $100 or more you get $15 off next visit. I used to play pool at this place as well. Pool section looks like other pool places. However, the outside facade of the place looks sketchy and dark. Need to be a bit careful while getting there as the place is not that lit. There is a parking garage next to this place if you are planning on driving there. Overall, this is a great place to play ping pong at a cheap rate.

Great place to shoot pool during the day time! It gets way too crowded at night. This place offers a free parking garage but be mindful that it is very cramped in there. They have lots of regular billiards tables, snooker tables, and even poker tables. Very interesting place with food and drinks! The only downside is that things are so disgusting in here like the bathroom and sometimes the tables. My co-workers and I booked 4 tables and all were quite dirty. Looks like nobody wiped them down for a while and the felt on the table wasn't "brushed".

I remember Carom being a popular spot to hangout in my highschool days. Everything looks exactly the same, and I don't mean that in a good way. This place is run down and in need of a makeover. The ping pong section was dead and stuffy. The paddles werent in good condition and the balls are not 3 stars. We were the only group there, but decided to shoot pool after. There are some out dated tables but for the most part, they're all new and in good condition. For the atmosphere, I rather go to a better billiards spot with good music, and a cleaner atmosphere. But for playing pingpong and pool for 3 hours it was about 60 dollars and the receipt gives us a discount for a future visit. Definitely cheaper than many other places. Also note that the front of the bar looks shady af, with the poker players. It used to be all high school and college kids. Now there are middle aged to old men playing some who knows what kind of high stakes poker.

Cmon people. This is one of the last pool relics of the neighborhood. Show it some love. The pool tables are well maintained and the prices are cheap. Wish the pool sticks got updated. There are many pool tournament banners and trophies in the place. Tell me another place in NYC that has this much history. Bet you won't be able to tell me many.

Hot waitresses, pool, Flushing. Empire Billiards (which is now closed) used to be the poor man's Carom. But throughout the years they haven't renovated, so its kind of getting old. There are poker tourneys going on at night. Ping pong in the back, and some nice arcade games. The drink prices are definitely reasonable, ample parking around the corner. Just go there with a few buddies and have a good time.

This place is just weird. It's a straight of brightly lit billiard that has a small bar area that serves food. The space looks dirty and worn out. They have good beer deals everyday from 6-8pm. $2 domestic bear and $3 all others. They also have corona buckets. Food here is okay. I won't be back for anything.

Dingy pool hall. Looks pretty run down on the outside and the inside BUT its cheap to play and the beer is reasonably priced. A good place for late night billiards. Friendly/competitive environment. There are a lot of tables for both pool and ping pong so its good place for large groups. The pools sticks are pretty beat up so if you have a pool stick lying around at home, bring it in. Same goes for the ping ping paddles.

This is a great place to hang out with your friends or take a date to. The food and drinks are decent and the atmosphere is laid back. The music selection is very diverse. The only con I can think of is that parking in the area sucks. They have a parking lot but it's almost always filled.

This place is actually really nice and spacious compared to the ones in flushing. They have ping pong and pool as well as a small game room and a bar. The only downside is that there are not a lot of young people there, the place is usually filled with old men. I've never had to wait for a table. As for the cafe/bar I have not yet tried those. Edit- another plus is they are open really late at night and on holidays too :D

5-stars if that jukebox was still there xD Or if I am allowed to play that piano. Carom is without a doubt, the cleanest and most cigarette smelling-free pool hall in Flushing. Though it takes some time, the food on menu is very yummy (or maybe cuz we come at night, anything is yummy). I've relinquished the cue stick and took up the pingpong paddle. It's loads of fun (and cheap) and a lotta the players aren't seriously pro so you don't have to worry about glares. Most of the nights when we are there, the pingpong room is just rowdy and full of laughs and sh!t-talks. Sometimes the tables next to the bar has serious poker games going on. There is also a small arcade room, but if you really wanna play arcade, go to Smiles down the block.

Best pool hall I've ever been to. This is not your average hall, the tables are very well maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I learned how to play 3 cushion thanks to Carom and I'm very thankful for that!

This is my go-to pool hall. Chill atmosphere, good tables, fun people, cheap drinks, and easy to park around the area. Although I'm sad that they raised their prices (used to be so much cheaper), I can't really complain. I like playing pool here, and I'll be back at least once every other week if I'm in the area. I've made some new friends here and everyone is super friendly. They also have a nice table tennis area in the side room. It's basically a no-nonsense, quality pool hall. Hopefully I'm getting better!

a decent place to shoot pool late at night if you're around the area. The place is fairly clean, although a lot of the equipment is pretty worn down, but the venue is impressively large especially being the fact that its in flushing. With ping pong, a lounge area and alchohol being served at this establishment, this place has a good bevy of options they offer for a more laid back evening out

Came here after drinks around the area. This place is pretty spacious. There were billiards tables, carom tables and ping pong tables. There were elder Asian men playing both billiards and carom, which you would not want to mess with because they seem very legendary and very good at the games they play. We went to play ping pong, which is located towards the back. Once entered into this area, I felt like we were in someone's basement. It was a large room with chipped light blue paint all around. The last time I played ping pong was when I was in summer camp and I was 7. Now more than a decade later, okay a decade and a few years later...here I was relearning how to play ping pong. It was pretty cool and I had fun. I kept forgetting how light a ping pong ball is and I smack it like I am playing tennis. Yea gotten used to playing tennis and just can't control my swings. But will definitely come back when I'm out in Queens.

I used to spend hours and hours at this place play pool. From what I remember. it's a pretty big billiards. tables were decent. the only problem was very hard to find street parking.. unless u want to valet I remember i played 6 hrs and only paid 40$.. I'm sure they are more expensive now but still better price than manhattan billiards. If you don't own a car.. it's still walkable distance from Flushing main street. probably 15 minutes walk. I need to go back home and check out this place again.

Having recently moved to Flushing, I was delighted to discover this pool hall right in my 'hood. A TON of tables. Ping pong tables in the side room. Many tournaments being held all the time here, it seems. If you're craving a pure unadulturated billiards experience with a lot of elbow room, this is your place. PLUS!!! Happy hour seven days a week, 6-8pm. $2 draft beers -- and they carry a good selection of beers on tap, including Sam Adams summer ale, cherry wheat, and Blue Moon belgian white.

I've been coming here for the past 3 years and I just love this place. Normally, I hang out with a group of at least ten people, so half of us would want to play ping pong, while the other half wants pool. There's an easy solution, CAROM! They offer both at the same price. So one hour at the pool, and one hour at the ping pong. It is completely worth it and the price is only 15 the most. Meanwhile, the asian girls who work there are pretty hot too. This place is just really cool, but one thing I dont like about it is the overtime cost. If you play even two minutes over, they charge you ridiculously. watch out. Otherwise, great place to chill with friends, and it's a three block walk from flushing. best pool place in flushing inside spoon

Cheap, fun and a great place to go to when you have a gathering with friends. If a Brooklyn girl and said company are trekking out to Queens for pool, you know it's good. When I came here, I did not spot any hot waitresses, just a few old guys and some cute guys but then again, I don't care for hot waitresses. Now I'm itching to play some pool...sigh.

Can't really complain about this place. Since I use to hangout in this spot when I was younger. Prices are still the same. Drinks are up a bit. But other then that it is a place to be when you got nothing to do on a Saturday night. Tables aren't up to date but hey they still work! Parking can be a pain if your trying to find one in the front. It is a bit off the beaten path. But, still worth going into.

For billiards I'd say the place is decent. I've been around the city to a few places to play throughout the years and I can't say this place has ever stuck on in my mind. The tables can sometimes be a bit busted and might need some small fixing but overall if you're not too picky I guess you wouldn't have a problem. And if you got your own cue/stick its probably better to bring it cuz their cues ain't the best They have a bunch of tables that don't have pockets. Don't know the name of the game but a lot guys play it. They also have 2 snooker tables in the back. So theres some variety. My favorite part of the place is the ping pong. Not too many places to play so when I usually do I come here. At $8/hr its decent enough. Before they had some really crappy paddles so I would try to bring my own. I think recently they finally replaced them. The tables are pretty good and you get enough room to move around.

Very casual pool hall. Got there around 1am and was informed that on top of the $12 hourly charge for a pool table, each person that exceeds a party of four has to pay an extra $2. I've been to other pool places but this is the first time I've heard such a thing. The place is kinda worn out, tables are covered with blue plastic sheets with holes in them- which were not pretty to sit nor look at. My friends ordered cheese fries for $4.50, and the Chef Combo was $9.50. A pitcher of Coors was $10. The prices are pretty cheap, but I didn't really enjoy the food so much. The fries was crispy, but had a weird flavor to it. I eat french fries often and I expect my fries to be ON POINT anywhere I order them. Our waitress Cathy was really nice. Service was good. The Asian man at the counter was really nice as well. Not sure if I'd come again.

Awesome place. Lots of tables of all varieties, snooker, pool, carom, four ball, and ping pong. A couple arcade games too. I met a friend there and we played 3 cushion for about 6 hours on one of the heated 5x10's. It came out to $32 each, so that wasn't bad at all. I mean $5/hr, where else are you going to find that? There was a tournament going on too, so the place was full, but not crowded. Seems like there's quite a few regulars, but even as it started to fill up later in the day, there were still tables available. The staff is really helpful and they rush to clean the tables every time a party leaves which you don't see in too many places. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in town. Oh, and yeah, it's just a short walk from Flushing-Main St station.

All ages. Parking on the side. Great attitude. Great space. Clean n bathroom too. Will return. Just an awesome place to hang out.

Great spacious pool hall with a large room dedicated for ping pong. Parking may be a bit tricky but there is a parking garage next door. The rates are fair ($12 an hour for a ping pong table). The rental paddles are a bit beat up and could definitely use some replacements. If you are with a big group and are looking for something fun to do in Flushing other than eating, definitely consider coming here. They have a kitchen and serve food and drinks as well as a bar but I passed on the opportunity.

Pretty nice and big pool hall. Tables are new also and they have good food. Nice seating area too if you just wanna lounge.

Hm. I gotta be honest. I was always tempted to visit this place, the place of big glass walls and pool tables. But since I have my favorite pool place, I always passed this place. And accidentally I found out that Empire Billiards has changed to a bar called 'Area' and the fact that the place is totally haunted, I changed the target location to Carom.! This place was actually not bad at all. Inside was wide, well organized with pool tables, reasonable prices. I really enjoyed being there with friends, but I didn't like a few things such as: - some tables and chairs are almost broken and not repaired.(yeah my friend dropped my beer on the table because of this..) - pizza was actually microwavable "frozen" pizza. :( - ping pong area was not maintained at all. but again, for the price I think this is a place to play.

I always forget how cheap going out late in Queens is. Spent hours here the other night. Was here from like 10 - 1:30. Had several pitchers of beer (split with a few friends.) My share of the beer and pool bill was about $30. Service was very friendly, fast and attentive thanks to Sonya. Seating is plentiful so even when both tables next to you are full, you have plenty of space to sit and spread out onto the side tables. Really had a great night out, got my drink on and played more games of pool than I can remember for $30. All in all, even though this isn't my favorite place, I'm a fan!

It's the hood. It's where I first played megatouch, first beat a boy at pool, first found out what an "escort" is... The tables are kept clean and orderly, the people are nice. Not the cheapest place and not always the super duper safest, but hey, its Carom! It's like an institution in Flushing by now...

Came on a weeknight with my roommates. Lots of tables, not many people on a weeknight. Good for a beginner like me where no one is there to get in your way and secretly judge you. Doesn't seem to have many young people, but may be a different scene on the weekend. I was impressed they had ping pong tables too! They have desserts too at the bar/cafe. The tiramisu looked delicious. Will try it next time.

Friendly service, cheap rates, finger lickin' finger foods, but don't get the microwave pizza. There's an ice cream vending machine that serves "good humor" ice cream sandwiches. It didn't make me laugh but it did uplift me.

Pool tables-not bad some are good some need repair Service- the waitresses will make you wait for a looooooooong ass time(even if u press the button and had prevously asked them in the front for a certain drink) but once the see you are recurrent they wont make you wait as much. But still not as fast as I would like. Food- havent tried it but I enjoy the pretzels nuts and chips they give for snacks with your drinks :) I come here cuz its a nice environment, its kinda cheap and the people that are there arent those creepy guys :O ;)

I love this place! 2 dollar beers from 6-8 every day, and 8 dollar pool games from 6-8 on weekdays. They also have snooker tables in the back if you ever want to try a new game, as will as many billard tables if you're into that sort of thing. Cute waitresses to bring you your food and drinks are a nice touch, and you're surrounded by a very professional atmosphere with the staff vacuuming the tables and shining the billiard balls. I hear there are ping pong tables in the back as well as an arcade. I just stick with the pool and snooker (which I love!) It's not an easy game though. Check this place out! You won't be disappointed. It is good enough that I am raving about it, and I'm not even there right now lol.

Had a great time here after visiting for the first time recently. We got a groupon, and for less than $20, both of us played pool for an hour, got a pitcher of beer and an appetizer. Great spot for a chill date.

There were 5 pool tables and it was not busy at all when we arrived at 11:00 in the morning. It was $5 an hour on Sunday which was very reasonable. We had a great time!

$4.50 Sam Adams. Friendly bartender, but didn't know how to pour a Guinness (thankfully I steered clear of that... generally not something you'd try at an Asian place, but somebody was trying it). Place has never been even close to crowded when I went, and you can just mess around w/o billiards heads judgin... much cheaper than Manhattan pool halls.

Either there were no waitresses during the weeknights or they just didn't feel like coming around. Pervy old people galore! Speaking of pervies I noticed quite a few reviews regarding the "hot asian girls waitresses." Like Annie C. had mentioned-- they're probably still in high school. I feel more comfortable in the side room with the ping pong tables. Less crowded and you'll have a smaller chance of being violated by the laser stares of the adashi's.

Great place for some pool! Large area for pool and other things too. The prices aren't bad and there are specials during happy hour. My only complaint would be its location which is kinda in the middle of nowhere and scary looking lol
