I saw the lady that I think is the boss scooping her entire arm into tubs of ice cream after cleaning the counter. No gloves. Gross. There were many flavors of ice cream but the flavor was lacking in particular for coffee and mint chip. We paid almost $7 for a kiddie size which was huge but we threw away both ice creams.

We tried all of the Oak Bluffs ice cream spots on our trip, and Carousel is the best. High-quality, creamy ice cream. Fun flavors.

🎠 The lemon and wildberry sorbet were really good. The coffee , rum & raisins are good too. We go there every day. The stuff is beyond nice. 🎠

Loved our stop here. They have a great selection and everything we tried was amazing! Location is fantastic. Staff was super friendly and patient with our indecisiveness 😂

Had 4 kiddie cones yesterday! The ice cream was superb and the serving was huge! The young lady behind the counter was very helpful and patient. We were in the shop with 3 small kids!

Ice Cream Shoppe [Martha's Vineyard MA] This is a cute little ice cream shop with fun interior aesthetics. It mimicked the nostalgic charm of the carousel from The Flying Horses Carousel. It had an old wooden phone from the early 1900's, and there were a couple of wooden horses too. I'm not sure if you can mount them or they're just for looks. Lots of vintage photos hung on the walls. Seating is limited inside but it wasn't busy when we went. Very clean shoppe. Unfortunately, we just had ice cream from another shoppe in Edgartown so we didn't have any this time. We were parched from the day's activities so we purchased drinks instead. Service was friendly. If you like Pina Coladas and drinking sugar without shame. This is the place you've been seeking so drink up and don't complain. Yummy wow! home made ice cream, shakes, smoothies, and more. This place was great and in the adorable town of Oak Bluffs. We really liked it here, and though we caught them at the end of the season, they still had plenty of options to choose from. So obviously, I got the Pina Colada smoothie and it was so tasty and refreshingly delicious. It was just what we needed after a long bike ride from the Vineyard Haven. They've got a cool carved carousel horse inside too! Good place come get something tasty!

The ice cream and service were both great! I personally thought the ice cream was better than Mad Martha's, and the service was definitely better! Not to mention, the prices were better for better quality and service.

I have not had such bad service in years. The two-person staff working on August 4, 2021 at approximately 2:30 pm were incredibly rude and disrespectful. When we asked for a manager, one asked "why." If you are looking for ice-cream, there are too many other ice-cream shops to tolerate poor customer service. Additionally, the ice-cream is average.

If you happen to be in Oaks Bluff and wants ice cream, this is the place for you. It's a very cute and clean shoppe with plenty of selection for kids and adults too.

They have a Luca horse and that's like so amazing like literally no where else has a little Luca lookin horse carousel Me and my friends absolutely LOVE keep the Luca horse

Amazing Ice Cream!! Snickers is a must!! Friendly service! We went there and were blown away. Given there's a place across the street, I'd prefer this spot. I've had both.

Got some ice cream here with my best friends and was not disappointed! The young ladies working were so friendly and kind. I got a "single" scoop and let me just say, they are very generous with their scoops. I'm from California and I also used to work at an ice cream shop. Their single scoop was our double scoop! So crazy! But I really loved their ice cream and I definitely recommend :) This place is CASH ONLY!

Cash only place and served yummy coconut ice cream! It had the right about of coconut flakes that weren't over powering!! It was a perfect stop on a sunny day!! Glad I picked this spot instead of the 4 other ice cream places in the area!!

Ice cream was good but not the best I've ever had. It was a cute inside with old carousel pieces and a few tables. I got the m&m ice cream which had nice big chunks of m&m. The vanilla base was decent, creamy, but with a little bit of a strange after taste. The service was great and it wasn't horribly priced by island standards. It is definitely a good place for kids. It states that they serve Del's frozen lemonade but I didn't try to order that. I will definitely be back for some watermelon Del's soon!

My husband and I have vacationed on the Vineyard for about 3 years now and typically when we mention ice cream to anyone, they *always* suggest either Ben & Bill's or Mad Martha's on Circuit Ave. Can't say my experiences with either of those have been stellar and when facing long lines and less than friendly staff I typically seek out other venues to satisfy my icy, confectionary desires. Crossing Circuit Ave from both aforementioned establishments, Carousel typically has a few patrons (probably as disappointed as I by B&B's & MM's), and the place is IMMACULATE. You can breathe in there. It's decor is simple, but I'm not there to be impressed by what's on their walls as much as I'm there to be impressed with what my tastebuds get. Although their ice cream selection may not be as wide and diverse as the other places, I'm quite happy with the reasonable menu of creamy delights. Being one of those "boring" fans of staple flavours, I chose their chocolate. I must preface this with I am pretty picky when it comes to my chocolate ice cream. Too thick & strong of a cocoa flavour makes me gag and thirst. Too less, it may as well be a bland vanilla. Happy to report, Carousel's is a perfect balance of cream & cocoa. The staff serving has always been pleasant and I really appreciate good service. The prices are comparable with the other places (1 Scoop is about $4.50 give or take a quarter or two). -but Oak Bluffs is a tourist area and yes, we tourists will pay almost anything - hell, we're on vacation after all! And I have no problem paying for quality. Because they may not be a longstanding ice cream place on the Circuit and fairly new, they're not that popular. But that's fine by me! I'd rather satisfy my craving immediately without waiting in a line that extends out to a sidewalk in a crammed space, with (-literally-) snotty nosed, whining and crying children and snobby, typical Vineyard visitors taking FOR-EVER to decide which flavor they'd like while taking 10 min to sample all of them, ignoring the fact that there are other people in the world besides them. Carousel - THANK YOU!

I was a little disappointed in my ice cream...an oreo cookie frap should be pretty easy to make, but it didn't have a lot of oreo flavor and my wife didn't enjoy what she ordered either...

Ice cream was amazing! However, a young girl working there was very rude and unpleasant. Have better staff and this establishment would be 5 stars.

Seriously tasteless ice cream. Not worth it. Had 6 scoops - only thing good was lemon sorbet. Cute, carousel horses inside. Ice cream just ok, at best.

I have been going here since I was a little girl. I enjoyed their ice cream very much. But this time I decided to try their vanilla milk shake, simple right? Not so. This milkshake was very watery and had way too much milk. For a $7.50 shake, that is unacceptable. I give this place two stars merely because I know they can do better. Just steer clear of the milkshakes.

Good ice cream. The flavors are not super original but the ice cream is creamy and rich. The prices are quite expensive, around $4.50 for a small cone but the portions are huge. I got the small and couldn't finish and next time would go for the kiddie cone, which is more of a small serving.

My ice cream was a bit too icy to live up to competition from the numerous other ice cream places nearby. Nice ambience and friendly staff.

Very good ice cream. I really like the flavors I tried - Almond Joy and Black Raspberry chip yogurt. The Almond Joy was rich and creamy while the BRC Yogurt was light and refreshing with a very smooth texture. I would definitely try this place again, just couldn't give it more than 4 stars because they didn't have very many unique flavors, just your standard run of the mill options.
